The pho was decent, but the chicken and rice dish wasn't good, nor were their spring rolls. It seemed as though they made the meat for the spring rolls and chicken dishes several hours prior to me ordering because the meat for both dishes were dry and had the after taste of cold meats left out in the room, food. The service here was pretty bizarre too, they gave me a to go container for my food that has been clearly used before (had some water and a noodle in it). We seen this place on our way home from Newport beach pier and last night we decided to finally check it out. The staff here are very amazing the service is top notch very friendly and attentive. I ordered the spring rolls and fillet mignon pho and my wife got the fried calamari and shrimp fried rice they orders came out really quick and the flavors were amazing on a side note this may come across as a bit strange but their water was flavorful with lime i tried to steal my wife's water but she caught me. The broth in my pho was so delicious i wanted to bring it home and bathe in it. We will definitely be going back to this place to fulfill our pho cravings in the future. Side note number 2 i will leave my 5 star rating because i enjoyed the overall experience BUT the spring rolls were a little bland but to me that's not a deal breaker because every store makes them different and the flavor of my pho made up for it. So I live down the street from this place and I frequently find myself craving a bánh mì (and since the closest THH is rather far I go here). I have had the pork, chicken, and beef....now I usually get chicken at other places, but here I am forever stuck on the beef. Its amazing!!! My special requests...add a fried egg (gotta have that egg) and please don't toast the bread (I like my bread soft). I also get extra pickled veggies on the side (even though they pack it with veggies...I just love them soooo much!). As for the service, everyone is beyond lovely...very nice, welcoming, and friendly! Now the prices are higher than I am used to, but the quality of the food is better and the service is great. Family owned establishment with delicious thai food and top notch service, Lotus Thai is a solid choice for a fresh, flavorful Thai meal. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Thai decor, pictures from Thailand. There is seating for about 40. We ordered egg rolls, shrimp rolls, crispy noodles with chicken and vegetables and a plain pho. All items were beautifully presented and were delicious! The service was phenomenal-the waitress checked in in us several times to ensure we had what we needed. Overall, a great experience. Lately we have been ordering form here through Door-dash. I have had three different items and I have to say, YUM. I had the diabo shrimp appetizer and it was delicious. Next time I had the vermicelli noodles with beef, to die for. Yummy fish-sauce. Today I had the vegetarian egg rolls and they were also delicious. I plan on working my way though the menu. Was out in the area for business, and craved some Pho. Nice location, it's next to a dentist office which was kinda weird as they share the same restrooms. Restrooms were very clean! Service was quick, very friendly, and the demeanor of the restaurant is the best I have seen for any Vietnamese restaurant. The Beef Pho was excellent! I can't fault it, can't even provide recommendations, it was that good. I also ordered the shrimp spring rolls, I believe they were spring rolls. They tasted so clean and refreshing. Okay Lotus Bistro! I see you!!! A friend of mine cancelled on me for lunch and I had to really struggle to figure out what to eat -- pulled out my phone and said EFF IT, gonna UberEats. SO GLAD THIS CAME UP. No one loves a good Banh Mi like I do (especially if it's the special and packed with more veggies) -- and so I gravitated to the BBQ pork sandwich and I'm so glad that I did. It's sweet, and beautifully charred and PACKED with quick pickled veggies. I ordered extra veggies and they were kind enough to pack a separate bag just so my banh mi wouldn't get too soggy. You guys are awesome and really bring me back to eating this same food that my aunts would make. It's so nice to find a good Viet restaurant that can do a banh mi right -- especially since everyone down here only seems to enjoy pho. Lotus Bistro is tucked away off Old Newport Blvd and for some, it may be difficult to find. It's located in the same plaza as Subway and there's plenty of parking spaces. I've ordered online (Amazon Prime Now, Eat24), dined in, and have gotten their food to-go (pick-up). After having it so many times I can say that it's one of the best pho places in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area. Although it's pretty pricey, their pho broth is the bomb; it doesn't taste like MSG and it doesn't make me too thirsty after I eat the entire bowl. I understand why their pho is pricey though... You gotta consider that out their rent is steep in Newport! When I feel like a baller, I go for the pho filet mignon and it's so goooood. I know all pho places buy meat in bulk, but man, their filet mignon is good; it's tender, not chewy, and it doesn't taste old. When I feel like a baller on a budget, I go for the pho tai (cheaper beef) and it's still good. It's definitely not as tender as the filet mignon, but that's a "duh." I would recommend staying away from their avocado smoothie because I can't justify paying $4.00 for a blended avocado... It was kinda hard to drink... It might have needed some more liquid (milk?) to make it easier to down. Maybe their other smoothies are good, but I know for sure their pho game is locked-down! read more

My partner and I had just finished some shopping in HB and ended in Costa Mesa. We were both feelin' Pho and went to Yelp for some help. Lotus Bistro had the most stars and 100% I agree with all those other patrons. This place was AWESOME! We got shrimp spring rolls, lemon grass beef and egg roll vermicelli, and regular beef and egg roll vermicelli. So not only was the food OUTSTANDING, the service surpassed our expectations as well. I called in at 8:29pm, a half hour before they closed on a Saturday night and the man who answered the phone was very welcoming and said they'll for sure seat us. Best pho in Newport Beach!! They're serving takeout during the pandemic, and every side and topping for the pho was included (even chopsticks and hot sauce)! Haven't been in maybe 2 months (and I'm.a regular, normally eat here once a week) cuz I've been traveling but was able to stop in today and gosh I missed this place! Their broth is always so on point! Egg rolls are always crisp and hot and the flavor of the filling is great too! When I first moved to Newport Beach I used to drive all the way back to Rowland Heights to eat at Pho Ha. We've tried so many places out here and the broth just never compares.
