This was written up as one of the best sandwiches in S.F. What was the metric? Cuz of the three we got--tuna melt, a cold tuna, and veggie--all were barely edible. The tuna salad was pure mayo ridden glop and of the twice I ate it, gave me a major stomach ache. Nothing interesting about them at all, and the promised garlic and jalapeño spreads? Not there. The veggie with eggplant mundane and not worth chewing action. Maybe we ordered "wrong," but the way I see it, no matter what you get, it should meet a minimum standard of quality, and their tuna needs serious revamping. Ironically, it was precisely the tuna melt mentioning in SF-ist ... something went seriously south. The customer service was excellent, super friendly and warm, we lucked out with free street parking because it was early morning and the prices are decent. Btw., this is a bonus: they're open relatively early, unlike a lot of places that don't open till 11 or later. When I opened up the sandwiches, they looked so gorgeous. But unfortunately, both really lacked a punch. The risky business was good, full of meat and sauce, but it was dry. Service was lukewarm but quick, which is all we really needed. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was delicious, but not quite life-changing. The Dutch Crunch bread was the best part of it - highly recommend! I wish I had asked for it toasted, so I would definitely do that next time. It was also a little light on the Buffalo sauce for me. Food - got the chicken pesto sandwich with no cheese. the bread was lightly toasted (keep in mind I took mine to go and ate it about 20 mins later so it may have been crispier fresh). overall was ok. there was more meat towards the middle of the sandwich, but after a few bites and towards the end, there was literally little to no meat. a bit spicy (it had jalepeno so a slight kick but nothing too spicy). couldn't really taste the aioli sauce (i think sauce is a bit lacking). there were also only like two slices of tomatoes and I wish there was more meat and tomato. Service - super quick. Easy ordering at the counter, accepts apple pay (woohoo!) and order was ready in less than 10 minutes. super fast. Ambiance - super small but cozy. I took mine to go and ate it on ocean beach (which is super close) and I highly recommend doing that. I got the Romas Club on a sourdough roll. The sourdough roll was perfect! The good reviews strike again! Anyone doubting the good reviews needs to just give this spot a go already. Food was so so delicious! I had the LLB special and it was delicious (definitely don't skip the special and jalapeño sauces please). The jalapeño sauce was a tiny bit spicy but you can manage. The service was quick and efficient. They accept Apple Pay / Tap to pay. They have sodas, teas, chips, etc so you can have a proper meal. The shop is a little small with no indoor seating so plan accordingly. My gf had the turkey cranberry sandwich and she loved it. We got these to go and ate them on a lil picnic.
