So we talk again Hello, Hello, my BF speak in Spanish to her I say in Russian. No respond. My bf say to me WTH if she so busy why pick up phone and at least say " pls wait or hello or something" lol. So he hangup and I call again. From my phone. And same story she pick up and no words on phone. Just can hear noise from the place. By that time we already was near the place and I call again while walking in to the store to see who is it who picking up phone and no answer. And this Cashier pick up the phone and probably hearing me that I walked in and in same time say Hello Hello in phoone to her finally answer. She look at me and I ask her. Why u pick up the phone and no talking I called like 4 times. She say to me it's You who not talking LOL. I was very unhappy at that moment to hear such a lie. Then she complain something in her language to colleges and place order from me in person. But it's not all. While I was waiting 15 min or more for my order incide. I was observing her interaction with clients. And OMG this lady just turning off people one by one. Someone come to her to ask if order ready she aggressively and annoyed yelling to her Not ready and showing by hands to client to walk aside. Poor girl was so freak out from such a respond. Other client was with disabled leg, she ignored him all the time till he finally reach out to the another employee and picked up his order. I understand what means busy I work in customer service too but common if u don't want work or upset or something don't ruin someone business by your attitude. Lou's Cafe, I like you! The shop feels welcoming, the staff are nice, the prices are very reasonable. Simple, no gimmick sandwiches. I like this location too! There are other neighborhood eateries nearby that I also frequented, So that makes it even better. I bought two sandwiches today, Ami-Cado and Kick'N'R.B I love the texture of the breads, Ami-Cado on a soft and sweet roll which was nice, chewy and with a hint of sweetness (next time I would add raw onions and raw jalapeños for extra kick and crunchy). The Kick'N'R.B was on a chewy and crunchy Dutch Crunch bread, the roast beef was a bit dry but overall this was a good sandwich. I'm going back to try the other sandwiches on the menu tomorrow. read more

OH MY GOSH... SO GOOD! Was able to call my order in and got there a bit early so had to wait about 5 minutes but the ordering and quality of what we got was SPOT ON! I was very specific that the sandwiches needed to be toasted and they were - perfectly! So by the time we got them to my dads - they were still warm and toasty and still crunchy for the dutch crunch! perfection. We got the Kick'N R.B - which is their roast beef with spicy horseradish - just the perfect kick for my dad! He loved it... and the crunch still on the dutch crunch was exactly how he likes it. I got the LLB Special toasted - and with everything on it, it was PERFECT. I'm typically not a pickles person but it had just the right amount of pickle and melted provolone cheese and that little "bite" with the special jalapeno spread. It was amazing! Hubby go the veggie-lious toasted! He loved the eggplant, roasted peppers, mushrooms, etc. and the melty cheese - perfect on their soft and sweet roll but warm as it was toasted. Middle got the Lou-Ben - a play on Rueben. She loved it it - as it had pastrami, Turkey, cheese sauerkraut with that "bite" from the jalapeno spread. Really can't go wrong with that! Was a great experience - when I called the order in - she repeated it back - and it was easy peasy going in to pay and adding in my bags of chips. Love this location - it was fast and efficient. They actually have a lot of pre-orders as folks were coming in - showing their phone and then picking up their orders so they are definitely busy so good that we called our order in! 4.5 stars -- A great place to grab a yummy sandwich for a decent price! Walked in on a Monday a little after 1pm and it took about 10-15 minutes to get our order. The Lou's Special Sauce was delicious and made the breakfast sandwhich even better. The jalapeño sauce was just a tiny kick, but as a spice lover I would have liked a little bit more spice. I agree with the other reviewers that described the long wait on the weekend. I went on 5/13/26. The cashier apparently told a muni driver he would have his sandwich in 15 minutes. He spent his whole 30 minute lunch break standing there, waiting. During the last 15 minutes, I arrived. I saw about 4 walk-ins and about 16 delivery drivers. The sandwich makers were working at lightning speed, but it wasn't enough to keep up with the demand. I helped the driver get the cashier's attention. He was very polite, but exasperated and probably starving. He asked for a refund because he couldn't wait any longer. I suggested she give him a free bag of chips, so he would have at least something to eat. She didn't understand me and he left with nothing but his refund in 5-10 business days. Looking back, I think she should have paused an employee and have him made the driver's sandwich. It would have literally taken the fastest worker 45 seconds if they didn't toast it. The driver was most likely the only customer whose lunchtime was constrained by the workday. Instead, the driver had to work his shift with no lunch. I think it's really sad when food delivery apps completely take over a business and a local person who serves a vital community need like public transportation is completely disregarded. I hope the business can figure out how to work with delivery platforms and still provide good service to the local community. read more

She's so rude to customers that I think she shouldn't work as customer service never again. I hate to give such a low star to judge a restaurant just because of ONE specific employee but the boss needs to know. She's also rude to her coworkers and that's not fair for others! I asked what' cheese inside of the turkey cranberry she simply just yelled "Read! Read! On the wall" by tapping the wall like I'm an elementary student. Then she said they ran out of bread for this sandwich and so I asked her what was the original bread that I can choose another one. She again asked me to read "number 1 number 1" so I just chose whatever... no one deserves to get such treatments especially we are customers. So I waited for her to be done and nicely ask again cuz I'm not sure if she heard me, she opened her hands and said " I only have two hands!" and mumbled sth else and stamped the screen hella hard. Legit one of the best sandwiches I've had in FOREVER. Bread was perfectly soft but crunchy, perfect ratio of meat, toppings, and sauce. It's a small mom-n-pop spot and there was a small line when we rolled up which is always a good sign. You can pay with cash, card, or Apple Pay which is a plus. However, after ordering (two sandwiches) we didn't get our food for 30+ minutes. Online orders were prioritized first and many guests who ordered after us in-person were given their sandwiches first. On the sandwiches themselves - they were a little uninspiring and soggy. I know some people enjoy a sandwich loaded with sauces but I am not one of those people. Bread was soggy and wet and sauce ratio was way to high. Buffalo sandwich was slightly better than the Italian - the ingredients tasted fresh at least . Italian Special was one of the worst Italian subs I've had in recent history. I guess having a downtown location isn't terrible if i went downtown more. I saved half my Veggielicious sandwich to have on a plane the day after getting it and it was still pretty good. I'd say it's worth picking up the day before a trip though a side can get a bit soggy if sitting on that side. My partner and I love Lou's!!! First, they are so consistent. We've ordered here multiple times and every time, it tastes just as good and they always get the orders right (I always modify my sandwiches). The portions are consistent each time. Second, the prices are very fair!! Because the portions are decent, I feel like the price is wonderful.
