Now, to help others: i love brisket, but they don't have the best brisket. The way they cut it makes it tough to chew. Go for beef belly instead. It's soooo much tender. If you are feeling pork belly go for the regular(thicker) kind. The thick cuts are juicier. If you like burnt pork belly(crispy/crunch texture), then go for the thin cuts. The staff are friendly and buffet bar of side dishes and rice is nice too. Don't forget they have all you can eat ice cream too! It is a bit expensive too. Friendly service and good food, I had the weekend special, the all you can eat meats with salad and fruit buffet for 35 dollars and self-serve ice cream. My favorite meats were the boneless short ribs, thinly sliced pork belly, The brisket and the shrimp. Not a bad place to visit while in Bakersfield, I've been to lots of Korean BBQ places so I'm spoiled and very picky, I give it three stars because it was really hot and smokey in the restaurant, and the atmosphere was kind of boring considering other places that are much more lively. We've been here 3 different times now, and every time is just delicious and enjoyable! Our favorite is the marinated boneless short rib and the bulgogi, the marinades are so so good. They have excellent service and meat orders get to you super fast so the time limit has honestly never been an issue. You can order 3 servings of meat at a time, which is great! The banchan is off to the side at a buffet with seasoning, rice, salad and other fruits! A solid repertoire of free banchan comparable and fresh to other kbbq places. It's unlimited and you can serve yourself at any time and any portion! My friend LOVES Korean BBQ. When we saw this place going in, he was thrilled! When it finally opened, he was ecstatic! We went in early for dinner, 430ish. Only one other table occupied. We slowly walked past the salad/ condiments/ soup/ rice bar. We were checking it out. We were seated and discussed first round of meats. We decided on beef bulgogi and shrimp. While we were cooking, we each took a turn at the condiment bar. My friend loaded up. He knew what he liked and was willing to try almost everything. I was a little more timid. Stuck with things I kind of recognized. The bulgogi was nothing special. Little flavor. Not worth trying again. The shrimp were large in size, shell on. They cooked up nicely. Our server changed out our cook top and took our order again. Second round, we ordered boneless short ribs and pork belly. The short ribs and pork belly were great! So much flavor! The only negative thing about the pork belly was all the grease flying from the grill. It coated everything. I noticed other servers explaining the condiment bar to their customers. Our server didn't. That was disappointing. When we left, we were saturated with the smell of greasy meat. I think the restaurant needs some kind of fan system so you're not marinating in all that greasy air. read more

Ate so much I had to take a nap! It's so nice to have a cool place like this Bakersfield! There are plenty of meats to choose from. We sampled the bulgogi, marinated chicken, pork belly and beef brisket (didn't get a pic of the last one). The servers were great and the older Asian woman really stood out! She brought out our food and threw it on the grill! As the meat was cooking, she stopped by again and chopped up all our meat with the shears with the expertise of a pro! Be aware, it does get a little smoky in there! But, if you can take the heat, you'll fit right in! We'll never be back. But it was not all bad. To be honest, if it was not $187 for our family of 4 to have very, very tasteless meat and really disappointing sides, I'd probably feel different. But maybe not. We told the waitress (who was nice but really clueless) that we'd never been to this type of restaurant before. She talked very quickly through the prices and reiterated a few times that when you don't finish your food, there's a fee. Ok. We understand, you have to finish everything. This sucked because my little one (who I payed $34.99 plus drink for) was so nervous about leaving food that she made her stomach upset and ate almost nothing. So, our waitress brings us round 1 of meat. We ask a couple of questions about how to prepare it on the tabletop grill, she has no information. Says she's either never eaten this one or is allergic to this one. Ugh. So we're struggling. Then the owner comes by. We ask for another 2 meats. She dumps the whole portion on the grill!! And they were HUGE. So much larger than our first portion. It felt like they were looking for a reason to charge this crazy fee. We were trying to ask the owner - who doesn't seem to speak much English - if we could get half portions. But she just brought them out of the kitchen and slapped them on a dirty grill. Kinda a bummer. However, for us, we weren't as bummed when she grabbed our food and chopped it up with desk scissors. It was weird and she didn't ask or explain, but we didn't know what we were doing! (We also never saw our waitress again). And lastly, don't wear something nice. The grease is palpable. It's everywhere and on everything. The floor is gross. The tables are really gross. And while you're cooking, it splatters! Pros: if you like all you can eat, that what you're getting. I've definitely had better KBBQ out of town but for a decent all you can eat KBBQ experience in Bakersfield I'd recommend it. Just don't go with super high expectations because you will be disappointed fs. If I had to judge this place against other experiences I've had it'd be like a weak 7 but we live in Bakersfield so that's what I expected. The buffet set up is definitely different but it has it's benefits over the traditional KBBQ experience the buffet has always been clean at least when I've gone. I've been there twice this week and I'm looking forward to going again. I would really recommend going at Lunch on the weekdays though cus' it's cheaper. The dinner menu is a little underwhelming for the price. It's extremely basic without half the options you'd normally find from other places. I don't normally leave reviews, but seeing a couple not so good ones and all have kinda of similar complaints. I would normally say try for yourself, but I'll give a pre-warning because it gets pricey. I went for lunch and it was $56 for 2 people and only one of us got a drink. Which would not be a problem if it was amazing. Cons: 1. The cuts of meat were not that stellar. Everything was thick and took forever to cook.. which may contribute to problem 2 2. Ventilation was horrible. It was so Smokey in there I was getting wheezy. 3. The sides were not all that great tasting. I was truly looking forward to some great kimchi 4. They charge for leftover food. I wanted more of the one meat I did like, but first had to force myself to eat the not so great other items I had. When they brought us "a little extra" of what we liked they brought us a TON practically more for of this one meat then the 3 they brought us before. Then they reminded us that there is a $20 fee for leftovers that you can't take with you & it's per person. 5. I also didn't like that a lady came and cut our meat for us with scissors like we couldn't ourselves. I was also kind of repulse because the scissors are like desk scissors not kitchen scissors. At first I thought maybe someone had left their box cutter scissors on the table.. then realized they were using it for food. 6. The servers didn't know what the menu items were. Apparently they had been pulled from Love Sushi their sister stores. I can understand not knowing something, but what was a little disheartening was that the girl didn't even try and get help. First of all, I'll warn you about the old asian mean looking lady that will give you attitude whenever you call for orders or complain about the stoves/grills that are defective (although all the other young crews were nice and trying their best to give good services). She slammed the grill hard on our table when we asked her to replace it and just threw all the meat we ordered on it. Very rude!!! 2nd the food. We came around 4:30pm and the sides were almost empty until we left...That's unacceptable being the start of their dinner was 4:00pm and they haven't replenished the sides. And imagine a Korean bbq without sesame oil??? So what are those salts for??? The kimchi during their opening week was great, but that time it tasted different and looks very pale...and some of the listed food were not available like the steamed eggs! The meat is so so, not that good nor bad. Sides are ok, they just need to be refilled when done. The listed option in the menu are not all available. So you'll be paying for items that you cannot eat at all. Exhaust system is poor, I don't know if the one we had was even working. My 1 star goes to service of the young workers, especially the guys, although very busy, were trying to accommodate all the needs of the customers. Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but it's a solid choice for Korean BBQ in Bakersfield. AYCE and around $24 per person. Some of the other reviews mentioned a lady who cooked the meat for them, and while I also encountered her it definitely wasn't as invasive as it was described. It was very reminiscent of eating with my family when my aunts took over to cook the meat properly after I mess up too many times. The meat wasn't the highest quality, but I would definitely recommend the bulgogi! The servers were also very attentive and checked up on us frequently making sure we always had meat and our drinks filled. The sides and sauces are lined up in a salad bar set up for self serve, and you can go up to get as much as you want whenever. They do only seat when everyone in your party has arrived, and you only have 90 minutes for AYCE. The timer begins with the first plate of meat ordered. I've been so excited for this restaurant for over a year and I was sadly disappointed. A lot of things that are important to me are quality of the food, price, service, and cleanliness (especially after this past year). The AYCE menu for this place is very limited and I felt like a lot of the meat served was mediocre quality. Everything was very chewy and none of the beef belly or the brisket gave that "melt in your mouth" texture. One of our favorite meats that's typically included at AYCE kbbq dinners are the short ribs (Galbi) and this was not a part of their menu. This was an additional cost per portion. I would be ok with paying the additional cost because I understand many KBBQ places in larger cities have a tiered menu with different prices for higher quality meat but this was just ridiculous here! We paid about $30 per person and I was not impressed with anything we were served. The waiters were super fun and nice, but many of them were standing around and not abiding by their push button notifications featured at each table. Lastly in terms of cleanliness I did not feel like the buffet of side dishes were given the proper amount of attention. If I were the owner of this establishment I would ensure the buffet area was wiped down frequently. The night I went the service was pretty slow which prolonged my group's stay. In the hour and a half we were there I only saw the buffet area wiped down one time. I am not sure if I will be coming back to this location unless I get notified for any major changes. read more

Never offered refills on our drinks...When we went to get it our own sauce is when we saw the buffet .. she never told us it was over there.. we didn't even know it was over there. The boy standing there apologized for her.. The didn't even have 1/2 the stuff on the menu yet. One of the guys working there did come to our table later and offered us steamed rice. I am hoping that after they are open for a few months they will work some of the bugs out. The 2 guys working the floor were very friendly and helpful... If I could give it 2 1/2 stars I would.
