This is the only AYCE KBBQ in Bakersfield (unless I haven't found the other ones) and it does the job considering I was from LA before moving here about a year ago. The place is clean and organized and their staff is welcoming and friendly even when they get super busy. The meat is good enough for the price and I love tht their sides (even the rice) is at a buffet style where you can just ger up and grab them for yourselves instead of waiting for the servers to bring them to you. You can munch on them while waiting for your meat to cook. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you want to satisfy your kbbq cravings without having to drive too far.

Girls night decided to give this place another try and I'm kind of happy we did as they've changed a few things. It's almost like they actually read my review! The robot was gone or at least it didn't make an appearance this time around. Our sweet server not only lit our fire from the beginning this time but she came and changed out our burner often. I'm guessing she does that so the place doesn't fill with smoke from burning up old juices left behind on the burners? She was also way more attentive this time around coming by and changing out our drinks often. The buffet table was still good but I really wish they'd tag all of the items so I'd know what each dish was. This time I ate the cold broccoli, the clear noodles, and the rice all was great. As for the meats, this time we tried the bulgogi, the brisket, the spicy marinated chicken, and the short ribs. I wasn't a fan of the chicken. I can't put my finger on what type of chili they used but it had a weird taste. The brisket once cooked looked like that packaged frozen beef named Steakumms you can buy in the freezer section of most stores. The bulgogi was delicious but I believe that's because it's marinated so it has flavor. The brisket has no seasoning and all they have on the table is salt and pepper to season the meat so I suggest getting a meat that's already marinated for better flavor. This is a cool spot to come if you're looking for a nice date or something as it's different than just going out to dinner. But be careful because It's also pretty hot in this restaurant with all the cooking going on and for whatever reason they don't turn on the vents to get some of the hot air out. I would not come in the summertime unless you want to sweat all of your makeup off.

I was a little nervous to come here because of the lower rating but sometimes gems don't get the best love! This place is definitely a gem. We went for lunch which is 28.99 a person. We were sat quickly, drink orders taken quickly, and she was very attentive to be ready when we were ready to order meat. I like that all the sides are buffet style. It means you get the sides you want and don't waste ones you won't eat. It's also nice to see all the options as some places don't list what they offer and you don't find out til a friend mentions it or you see it in a photo online. The selections of meats and sides was good. Meats were pretty standard styles for a KBBQ. We got bulgogi, brisket, marinated chicken, and pork belly. Bulgogi was my fave with pork belly being my second. I really enjoyed everything plus good service so will definitely be back!

Don't waste your money. Soooo bad. It's like the only spot in Bakersfield that does KBBQ and it's $35 a person which is way too much for the quality. The sides are trash, the place was cold and wet and leaky from the roof, and the service was meh. The meat was alright but this is probably the worst KBBQ I've ever had and it was all I wanted after a long day of driving. Please choose something else if you're ever passing through this city.

After visiting Korea, I can see the difference in KBBQ. I'm very glad to have this in Bakersfield its something we needed. As for the meats I would say the marinated meat are the best in taste, great flavor! They have a good amount of side dishes, but to make the meat not stick to the pan they're missing the chunk of fat to spread on the grill it would save a lot of cleaning. Don't be afraid they're not playing KPOP all the time, the playlist they had was great! We had a male waiter and he was very attentive. And guess what they have a robot that brings you your meat

My family loves Korean BBQ so we decided to finally check this one out. We have been here a couple of times now. During the pandemic we were anticipating the opening of this place and then when it finally opened it didn't tickle our fancies so we weren't in a rush to check it out. I feel like this place is good for Bakersfield. Bakersfield needs more AYCE KBBQ places. Because I've had really good KBBQ places in SoCal it's hard for me not to compare it. First of all, the sides are AYCE, they don't have a wide variety of sides, but just know it's not as fresh. Maybe it was fresh in the beginning of the day, but the times we visited it was in the evenings. The sides are at a buffet like table and you serve yourself. You can tell the staff doesn't clean up this area often since there's food scattered here and there. It's not disgusting, but it does appear like most buffets. The meats seem good quality, but not top tier quality. The meats are seasoned well and they have nice sauces. I think I would continue to come back since my boys like this place, but this would not be a regular place for me. I think I would only come back if a relative or friend wanted to go check it out or if my boys wanted to come. On a plus side, they actually have a good amount of people that dine in, so that's a sign that meats are fresh. The restaurant seems old inside. The walls and crevices does not seem clean. I thought this was odd considering it's been open just a couple of years. The staff seemed nice, it's a hit and miss. Sometimes they don't check up on us as frequently and other times they are on point. I think it depends on your server. The AYCE KBBQ places in SoCal are more consistent with service. I don't know if this is a family owned business, but I hope this place thrives since we need more AYCE KBBQ places in Bakersfield.

This is a sizzling restaurant, literally. The food (meat) is good, but the salad bar options are not very fresh. The service was good, but has room for improvement. The ambiance is fun, pretty busy, the price is expensive, however, it's all you can eat meet so the price is fair.

It's fairly expensive for lower quality meat. There are better spots in town that offer a better quality. The sides were not the best.

The moment you sit down and hear that first sizzle on the grill, you know you're in for more than dinner. You're about to enter a delicious little universe where time slows down, everyone leans in, and the table becomes the heart of the evening. There's something magical about cooking together at Kalbi King. One person becomes the self-appointed Grill Master, another becomes the Sauce Explorer, and someone inevitably declares themselves the Chief Lettuce Wrap Architect. Before you know it, everyone's laughing, flipping, grabbing side dishes, and building the perfect bite like a tiny edible masterpiece. And the meats--oh, the meats. High-quality, tender cuts that cook beautifully right before your eyes, caramelizing into smoky, juicy perfection. The kalbi is the undisputed star, but the pork belly, bulgogi, and marinated chicken hold their own like a talented supporting cast. Each bite feels like a round of applause in your mouth. Don't even get me started on the sides. The banchan lineup comes marching in like a whimsical parade--kimchi with personality, pickled veggies bursting with tangy charm, fluffy rice ready to join the party. Everything feels fresh, generous, and crafted with care. But the real reason Kalbi King stands out? It turns a meal into a family moment. You're not just eating--you're sharing stories, dodging smoke puffs, laughing at slightly overcooked slices, and cheering when someone nails the perfect grill timing. It's the kind of place where you leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. One thing I noticed was the mix of different tables and chairs throughout the restaurant. It almost feels like a hodgepodge of furniture, but somehow it works and fits the contemporary vibe rather than feeling out of place. The food was excellent, the service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We received our food surprisingly fast, which was a nice bonus. There was a mistake with one of our rolls, but the staff handled it well. They quickly remade the roll and brought us a replacement at no charge, which I really appreciated. One of the highlights was a custom roll with jalapeño, avocado, and asparagus. I added cream cheese and had it deep fried, and it honestly tasted like a sushi version of a jalapeño popper. It was absolutely amazing and something I would order again in a heartbeat. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. The bathroom and the restaurant is very clean. And the staff was very attentive, professional, and very pleasant. I enjoyed the food I ordered via DoorDash, but this time I got it fresh right out of the kitchen and the counter, and it was amazing. We started with the jalapeño bomb, and mixed tempura in a size small. Both those appetizers were delicious and perfect for sharing. Then we ordered a California roll on soy paper, the Kuma special sushi roll, and the creamy salmon roll. Everything was fresh and very shareable. We could've easily shared our meal with two other people needless to say we had leftovers to take home. I definitely recommend this place and I look forward to going back. There are other things on the menu such as fried rice, udon, and teriyaki plates. They also had a couple of desserts, so I am definitely planning on trying one of those. Enjoy!
