First time eating here as the family and I just moved to Bakersfield in July. The food here is fresh and ready for you to cook. We loved that they had a huge rice cooker and you can grab as much rice as you please. We had the kids with us so we mostly ate Bulgoli and the Brisket, but I sampled the ribs and the shrimp and that was very delicious as well. I should add that I have a large family and we were able to get big table promptly, however, this table is first come first serve, so be sure to keep that in mind if you have a large family. We went for the first time last night (Saturday 9/2) & had a great time, and an even greater meal! As a party of 4, we ordered the bulgogi, thin sliced pork belly, a marinated thin sliced beef rib, the beef brisket (beef brisket is a customer favorite), and a thicker sliced pork belly. The bulgogi was so good that we ordered it twice, everything that we ordered was very good, minus the beef brisket. that one we had to add different flavors to in order to get any flavor off of it, which was fine. We just didn't find a good combination to mix for that meat. They have a bar off to the side with a nice selection of sides like rice, cabbage, kimchi, salads, noodles, and then they had a selection of flavor additives like onion, garlic, different veggies like broccoli and carrot, pineapple and jalapeño, and a section for soy sauces, and oils. Overall, the price of $34.99 per person for an all you can eat experience was very reasonable and we ate until we were super full. They also have ice cream included after your meal as well. I recommend coming here & doing the Saturday/Sunday night dinner special with a few friends or family members. It's a fun experience and well worth the money with how good their Meats are! The service was also attentive. They had a call button at your table to call a staff member over for more meat, refills, or a new hot plate if yours gets too dirty. The food was OK. Being new there we had no clue what to order. The waiter seemed to be In a rush and couldn't explain ANYTHING. Half ways through our cooking area began to smoke and we received no help with it. Our drinks never got refilled. The service was not worth the tip they automatically charged. We won't be back. I'd like to keep this short and simple since the constant wait times here took most of my day off already. Only one worker and he was very incompetent, the restaurant was humid and smelling like burnt food, not BBQ. The menu was very confusing and expensive. I didn't like the $35 "all you can eat" option because you could only pick 3 different meats out of all of them but as much as you want of those 3 meats on most of them at least. I would rather pay more but have more options like other higher end options in other cities. The service was ok also they could of been a little more attractive but not bad overall. Food and service was great! They also keep the restaurant clean and noticed that some of the workers were making sure that the floor wasn't slippery/oily. The tables and chairs were also clean and not oily. Very impressed with their cleanliness and attention to detail. The only reason I'm taking off a star is because of the price for the amount of options they have. But this is comparing to other ayce kbbq restaurants with more options + cheaper price that I've been to in the LA area. Don't go. Service is invincible. My daughter and I have been here twice. First time was awesome. Second was not. Our server left break and the server he left in charge only came by to charge us. While with big groups this may be okay, we don't like to have all of our meat cook at the same time. I feel like a lot of the people who leave bad reviews don't understand how kbbq works. first mistake people do is not coming with a big appetite. it's an all you can eat! unlimited meats and sides! paying 28.99 for one round is not worth it, that's why me and my friends come HUNGRY! you cook the meat, you order 3 choices per round, and you have to eat most of the meat so you don't get charged for the left over fee. I think it's smart! it's a policy all buffets should enforce so food isn't wasted. I've been a returning customer since they first opened and it's always been consistent! is it the best kbbq ever? no, but for Bakersfield this is a good place to get your quick fix in. Picking up meat that´s already fallen off the floor and placing them back on the platter. Cleanliness was definitely not held to a high standard. Poor management, some employees being super immature. Love the atmosphere and the dining areas. 10/10 also has a buffet area where you can get your rice and veggies with some potstickers. We decided to eat here for my birthday. The server was very enthusiastic and told us the "rules." We aren't about wasting food so that was fine. Kind of authoritarian, but ok. We ordered our three meats and went to the side buffet to fix our plates. Good thing we did because the enthusiastic server because less enthusiastic after we ordered. He was more interested in sitting in the corner playing with the other server than doing his job. The place was empty so there was no reason why we couldn't get better service, especially for 35 per person. The food was good, not great. It took forever to get new plates of meat brought out. After all was done, he brought out the check and literally told us "Sorry about giving you bad service. I'm only working hear for another week anyway." He handed me the bill which already had the 25 dollar tip added. I guess taking care of your customers goes out the window when you get a tip regardless. Let me start out by saying. I adore the waiters and waitresses here. They are all welcoming and excellent at their jobs. But either the manager or owner has now left me at pause with a feeling of maybe not wanting to return. My boyfriend and I have dined here several times since they opened. The restaurant has a 20.00 fee attached to your bill if you order more meat then you can eat. We always eat the meat we order. But with me having surgery that left me with a 1/8 of a pancreas I cannot digest fat. It makes me extremely sick as my body cannot break it down. So, when ever I eat out I cut the fat off my meat and leave it on another plate. Here's where my issue came into play. After we finished eating the owner/manager ( a woman with dark hair ) came by and picked up my plate of fat scraps. Then she instructed our waiter to charge us an extra 20.00. Our waiter stood up for us and refused to saying this isn't meat this is fat and made sure we were not charged for the fat. I am so thankful for him. And need less to say I left him a $20.00 tip as he earned it. All of this has left me feeling like I may just wait till my next trip to LA to enjoy all you can eat Korean BBQ. So if you have digestive issues like myself and our wonderful waiter. (You'll know who he is as he is always singing and brightening up the place) isn't working be prepared to possibly be charged an extra 20.00 for fat scraps left behind. read more

This was a nice Korean BBQ. I had the $34.99 special at lunch on Sunday. It comes with 3 meats and access to their buffet sides bar. I didn't have a huge appetite so ate very minimal of the sides. The meat however was a good size portion. I couldn't come close to finishing. The flavor was good but not great. What brought my rating down is that I couldn't take my leftover meat home. I understand when it's an all-you-can-eat and you keep ordering more so you can take it home. But this was just my original allotment of food. I didn't eat much. They would rather throw out my leftovers than let me take them home. While it was good enough for me to eat there again....I won't come back because I was forced to throw out half of my food. read more

I was just getting an ice cream for my son and they cleaned up our table right away without asking if we're done. I get it that typically when someone's getting a desert they are done but in our case my son is done, I wasn't. Asking first would have been nice. Something they need to improve. It made me felt like they are in a hurry to kick us out. They raise their price and it should match their service. The server's were nice but it was the owner who doesn't know what customer service is. The lady owner even touched our food in the table, cooked and served us. At first, it was okay, her cutting the meat and putting it in the grill, but she served my son a half cooked meat which is not our preference. And again she didn't asked or say hi, nothing. Food was good and service was okay besides the owner coming up randomly and not even saying anything and just started to cut our meat and put the new meat on our burner without even asking if we were ready to start cooking the next meat. Finally the ticket comes and we notice both of our kids were charged when only my 5 year old should have been charged when we asked for them to fix it they stated it would be a full refund and charged again. So we would have to wait for the $125 to be refunded back and still pay so total we would of paid tonight would of been $250! They should really ask about kids age before charging. I've never been here before, figured I would get something to go. They don't have "to go" food only dine in, so my kids and I decided to eat in. I asked how it worked and he said we cook our food when they bring it out and it is 29.99. You cook the food at your table and I had to get up like 10 times because I have kids and I had to get rice and other sides they wanted. We didn't eat much, they're just kids and I don't eat much. I guess I misunderstood him and I guess it's somewhat my fault because I didn't notice the all you can eat sign. Well after we eat I get the bill and it was $108 not including the tip. I don't think we ate $30 worth of food. Besides, I had to cook it myself and get up a bunch of times and get other stuff. Another kbeebs spot in Bakersfield! I came when they first opened, but unfortunately my experience wasn't too great. We were sat down, but not given any instructions that the side dishes were "buffet style" so we were just waiting for nothing because we thought the server would bring sides to the table. The dipping sauces are mixed so it's hard to tell what is what. The brisket was delicious as always, but the marinated bulgogi was not marinated at all. The meat portions were huge so I didn't even get a chance to try any of the other meat options which was sad. We have been waiting 3 years for this place to open. When we saw that she finally opened after years of teasing us we knew we had to give it a try. Would this be competition for Kalbi King and our new spot?Obviously it's opening week so there were hiccups to be expected. Overall my experience was neutral it wasn't super great but it wasn't awful. We went a few minutes shy of 5pm for the dinner. It's $30 a person vs the lunch price of $24 a person but we wanted to have more options with meats. I liked that they had a buffet style for the sides so you could pick what you wanted. There were plenty of options to choose from tempura veggies, salads, fish cakes, noodles, kimchi etc. There were lots of meat options to choose from as well and you can order up to 3 meats at a time. We ordered the pork belly , short ribs, shrimp , brisket, bulgogi, and beef. Everything was okay the only thing we didn't really like was the bulgogi. The quality with the meats is not as good as Kalbi King but it's okay....it's not awful. The servers are young and definitely need some time to learn to communicate and work on fast efficient customer service. That's one thing that we do enjoy about going to Kalbi King we know who our server is whereas it was different people coming up to our table confused and stressed asking us the same question and we weren't getting results. For example we waited almost 30 mins for rice before on of the servers came up to us and apologized for the wait. You can tell they're young and overwhelmed and need more experience. I'm hoping within the coming months things will be more smooth and we can revisit. As for now we are sticking with Kalbi King because the quality of the meat is better and so is the service for the price we paid. read more

My family loves kbbq, we were super excited to try this place. We have a few favorite spots in LA but recently moved to Bakersfield and were looking for a good spot. It's overpriced considering LA places weren't ever near 30 per person. They don't have a lot of our favorite items like RICE PAPER, brisket sauce, and cucumber kimchi, which was a total bummer. The servers literally never came to the table, they were huddled up talking in the back, we eventually found the button to call the server to our table.. I saw plenty of negative reviews for this place, hence it took my family and I a while to finally give it a try. We got there a little before 5, got seated quickly. Server explained how the service goes, took our ordered, and promptly came back with them. All the meats we ordered (we ordered all but 3 types) were great except the pork belly. If you are to go for the pork belly, get the thinly sliced one because the regular are THICCK and took forever to cook. DO order their bulgogi and short ribs.
