I was hankering for some late night food and this was one of the few places still open at night. Whoever was the cashier that day was mind blown due to two ladies ahead of me in line requesting for two drinks and splitting a gyro, no problems ordering on my end though. Ended up getting a 1/2 lb double cheeseburger and for $6 it's quite the deal. Quality of the burger was good and reminiscent of old school style burgers but all the veggies wanted to fall apart from it due to its massive size. I oversaw what was considered a large chili cheese fries and that can definitely be split between four people. I will start with a phrase - "The best french fries I've ever had". To be honest this is the only thing that I loved. Let me explain everything in order. When we came here for lunch, we saw some old, dirty restaurant. We just wanted burritos, but we faced some obstacles before we got to the actual food. Again - everything was at least 50 years old there, and wasn't taken care of! There were a lot of people there, but I assume they were there just for food. However when I come to the restaurant, I try to get the most of it and look at every detail. So the restrooms were extremely gross and I didn't want to go inside of them. The tables were all scratched out, with dirty spots on it. We actually were thinking of eating in the car because of how everything was inside. The cashier woman actually barely spoke english. When we tried to explain something and ask for details about the food, she didn't know what to answer. So that took us several minutes to just figure out if we want one or about her type of burrito. Not a big deal, but still it was something I didn't enjoy. The only part that I liked about this place was that they had Pina Colada and amazing chili fries. Both of those were great and I definitely loved it. I also got a sausage burrito, but that one was just a regular burrito. I mean it wasn't super special, but it was good. I've been going to Lucky Boys since my days in high school and it's still just as good as it was back then. I only get one thing at Lucky Boys: The Breakfast Burrito with sausage and bacon (and extra salsa on the side). This burrito is HUGE. If you love breakfast burritos, you'll love the ones they have here at Lucky Boys. It has a ton (and I mean a ton) of puffy egg, gooey cheese, delicious potato, sausage, and bacon. Most breakfast burrito places only offer either sausage or bacon, but you can get BOTH here at Lucky Boys. They aren't easy with the bacon either. There is a good amount of bacon and sausage in the burrito. Be sure to always get extra salsa like I always do because they usually give you either 1 or 2 and it is definitely not enough. For those of you that know me, you guys know I love me a good breakfast burritos and so far, Lucky Boys is probably the best I've had. No vegetables, no salsa inside (although they do give an extremely mild and rather tasteless green sauce), nothing to make it stand out. I ended up ordering the infamous breakfast burrito (with half sausage half bacon) and chili cheese fries. Thank goodness I chose to share the burrito because it is HUGE. I didn't even think I could finish my half...but I did because a) it was really damn good and b) mama didn't raise no quitter. The burrito is very generous on bacon, it is dirt cheap, and it is quite large. My boyfriend and I split one every time and I feel guilty spending so little for the amount of food we get. When I order my breakfast burrito I ask them to leave out the potatoes and add beans instead. When they ask for what meat I ask for all three (ham, bacon and sausage). If you are hungary this should keep the average person happy all day long. That's if you can finish it. One burrito that does not get the proper respect it deserves is their bean and cheese. The problem was that there wasn't not a lot of flavor with the ingredients inside, save for the bacon. You have to help it out with the green salsa provided. I had to return home and hit the hay. I slept for another 3 hours before futilely attempting to work this burrito off at Griffith Park. Get your [expletive] together when you order, or else you'll get some grief from the cashier. The place can use a bit of a makeover but I can live with the outdated decor. Just as long as they keep making my chilli cheese fries the same. Service is mediocre because they never smile and can care less if you are friendly. Still , they get it done accurately and expeditiously. I've been eating at this place since the early-mid 90's and I still can't get over my cravings for their sausage breakfast burritos. If you don't want something as filling, I've also heard the egg sandwiches are good but I haven't tried it myself.
