    Lunch!

Had a hankering for a Lobster Roll. Since I was on the Upper East Side, I dropped into Luke's at about 2:30. Ordered a roll, small Lobster Bisque and a Natalie's lemonade to wash it all down. First, ambience, quaint little spot. Gives the feeling your in Portland Maine by the docks where the lobstermen bring in the catch. Service, fast and friendly. Now onto the main event. Soup perfect tons of lobster bits with the creamy soup texture. Onto the lobster roll. Plenty of meat enhanced with just a smattering of melted butter. Yummy! Lastly, Natalie makes great lemonade. Just lemon juice water and pure cane sugar. Excellent. I will go back next time I'm in the mood for a lobster roll. Luke does a great job!

Got a lobster flight while in NYC and loved it! Chef's kiss! Also, all the employees gave this mom and pop shop a chill feel. I really enjoyed the vibe. S/o to Alifia who took our order. She gave this spot a a real chill local feel. She has CA to visit on her bucket list so feel free to give them to her recs and tell her Nichole from CA sent you:) Also props to Darwin and Gloria for their NY recs and hospitality as well!

Luke's Lobster was a great idea over a decade ago--fresh, affordable lobster rolls served in what looked like a shack--but as it spawned a chain of Lukes, the quality started to dip. The last Luke's Lobster storefront I'll ever go to was the one I walked into last night at 242 East 81st Street in Manhattan. The first Luke's Lobster was funky in an almost hippie beachcomber way. This place was just drab. There were three of us, with three different needs: a small, hot lobster roll; a large, cold lobster roll; and an advertised trio of mini shrimp, crab, and lobster rolls. Also a small bowl of lobster bisque and some cole slaw. The woman behind the register was perfectly nice but didn't get it, despite going over the order three times. (This is when anyone unsure should say, "Okay, let me read this back to you.") She disappeared into the interior and came back with two trays. One had a small cold lobster roll and clam chowder. The other had a large roll. The third tray arrived with my trio and the cole slaw. But the real issue was the food. The clam chowder was a flour-thickened mess of potatoes and a distant memory of clams; the bisque that finally arrived was gray and bland. The crab meat in the trio was white shreds that looked and tasted a bit like sauerkraut, and the shrimp in the shrimp roll were small, stone-cold, and watery. Okay, but how was the lobster, the real reason that anyone comes to a place like this? Not fresh, all of us agreed, and that's unforgivable. As humble as it sounds, a lobster roll is a high-ticket item. As we were leaving, the server mentioned that all the dinners came with chips. We grabbed three bags for the road, and I carried them. When I reached for one 10 minutes later, I saw that it had already been opened. ---- One point to note, and I should have mentioned it earlier: The server did bring us a hot lobster roll to replace the old one, no charge, and also didn't take back the clam chowder we didn't ask for. That should count for something, and I'll up the rating by a star.

Early Saturday dinner at their cozy Upper East Side location. We had lobster rolls, crab rolls and clam chowder. The lobster roll consists of generous size pieces of lobster with just enough mayonnaise to bind the succulent pieces of lobster meat served on a toasted brioche bun. The lobster rolls are really good! Kin was a great host pulling some tables together for our family.

So yummy! Warm buttered 6 oz. Lobster roll, no frills and so much better than the mayo versions. It's not cheap but it's very good. I just wish they had French fries instead of potato chips. Happy Yelping!

Very clean location (we did arrive as they opened). Lobster rolls were delicious! It would have been nice to have the option to have a warm roll but it was still good. Service was friendly.

Always love a lobster roll - Luke's Lobster always fulfills my craving for it too! My fav is the warm lobster roll and my boyfriend loves the lobster roll flight with the 3 different flavors. Not a cheap meal, but I appreciate the lobster portions in each roll.

Came here for dinner, and I was late, I made it in time before closing quite a walk from 86th St. station. But it's a cute place very cozy. I had the lobster roll flight sampler, which comes with 2 Oz mini samples of: A truffle butter, lemon butter, and spicy honey butter. I must say all three tasted the same. It took about 10 min to prepare, and I couldn't distinctively taste the flavor from either one. I was excited about trying them out and the spicy honey i really wanted to experience, but it was a letdown. Not to say it wasn't good, but it was lacking each flavor. My date had the crab roll, and he liked it. When I first had lukes, it was at the Cipriani food tasting, and the bread had me going because it's soooo good; I'm not really a lobster person, but I'm getting there. The lobster was good as well, so I wanted to try this location. Maybe because it was late and closing time, but nevertheless, it should have been right. I do appreciate the workers for letting my date, and I stay in to eat they were very accommodating and nice. Kudos for that. I will try the closer location on 42nd and give it another try. But if you ever feel like traveling to the UES or are in the area def pay them a visit for a quick

We stopped by for an afternoon snack at this Lobster restaurant located in the Upper East Side of NYC. We each had a 4 oz Lobster Roll $23 at the counter. We waited a few minutes inside until they brought it to our table. It was very tender and delectable. Simply made with lobster, butter, mayonnaise, lemon juice and seasonings on a New England split top bun.

Travelling around New York and we really wanted to try something close by. Stumbled upon this place and I'm a huge sucker for lobster rolls... Hands down, one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had !! Worth. Every. Penny! Even the lobster bisque was a nice addition on a cold day. Highly recommend !

Stopped by for a quick lunch on a Tuesday. Not busy but there were a few people chillin and eating. Plenty of space inside and outside and pup friendly ! We got two lobster rolls and a sampler. So much meat and the seasoning was just right! Roll was perfect and each bite was perfect. Solid lobster rolls!

So what does one day after a wonderful day at The Met? Two words: Lobster Roll. My buddy heard about this place and suggested giving it a try. I hadn't eaten many lobsters rolls in my life, but I figured I'm on vacation. I'm in NYC. And......I was hungry. The roll was sublime. The meat was plumb, tender and sweet with a hint of garlic. The bread was toasty. I ate it like I just came back from Survivor Island--fast, sloppy and without modesty. It was quite shameful as I was sure I was frightening the small children that walked by our outside table. It was a very, very good lobster roll and a Go-To spot whenever I'm on the Upper East Side. What a magical place.

Must try: Lobster Roll and Lobster Mac & Cheese! Why: Fresh lobster that is seasoned well on a delicious roll! They fill the roll with large chunks of lobster. I get lunch here probably every other week (via MealPal), although lately it's been weekly because I've been craving seafood! They pair the roll with potato chips and I really like the Salt & Vinegar flavor. I also loved their Lobster Mac & Cheese, Chowder, Crab Roll, and Shrimp Roll. Notes: Yes, seafood is on the pricier end but their Maine Lobster is 100% worth it! This shack is a small and cute location on the UES with indoor and outdoor dining. Clean location with friendly staff too! They also have a Lobster Roll Flight, which I can't wait to try!

Do you serve whole belly fried clams?

David, we do not serve fried clams. We serve fresh seafood rolls,-our main speciality being Lobster rolls.

Are the crab and shrimp rolls about 300 calories each for the crab/shrimp plus the bread or just for the the crab/shrimp?

Thanks for the question, Chris. Our Crab and Shrimp Rolls are 310 calories for the 4 ounce roll and 390 calories for the 6 ounce roll. That calorie count includes everything in a standard roll: seafood, toasted bread, butter, mayo, and secret…

It was pretty quiet inside, outside of the TV playing somewhat loud highlights from the World Cup on loop (why,) with the servers and staff being helpful and friendly. In comparison to the other pick-your-own seafood spots like AbuQir or Hamido, the spices are a tad lighter here, being almost closer to Astoria Seafood, minus the olive oil. I didn't mind, though, as the fish was all fresh and perfectly prepared. To drink, our table stuck with water, though there are a few mocktails and some sodas, including some Algerian ones. They put down some simple bread with a bit of garlic and herbs, which was refilled. For non-seafood dishes, we had a few. The first was the $8 Hmiss, or Hammis, a dip made with roasted pepper, tomato, and garlic sautéed in olive oil. The warm dish was earthy and garlicky, and went perfectly with the bread, with the flavor reminding me of a warmer version of some Turkish eggplant dips. There was also the Peasant Salad for $12, with cucumber, tomato, red onion, and Kalamata olives topped with feta, oregano, and dill. If you're familiar at all with Horiatiki/Village salad, it's basically the same thing, though with crumbled feta instead of a block, and it was refreshing and tasty. Finally, we eventually got an $8 side order of Basil Garlic Mashed Potatoes, which were decent. The first seafood to arrive at the table was the $16.99 Algerian Sardines, which consisted of sardines from Morocco with a spice mixture. The man in front recommended them fried, and the portion was nice, and the flavor was excellent. The fish was fried perfectly, with the bones fried enough that the entirety of it could be eaten. This was delicious, and one of the highlights of the meal. As we loved these sardines, we eventually got a small order of the other option, the "Marinated Sardines" from Spain. These were a bit more expensive by weight, being $10.56 for 0.48 pounds, but by comparison, these were much flatter and larger. The half pound consisted of three large pieces, which were broken down and divided among the group. While I slightly preferred the spices from the Algerian version, I liked the texture of these more, as they were more meaty. I don't think you can go wrong with either, as both were excellent. There was also one pound of Mussels for $17.99, which was available in one of two cooking preparations, Moules Marinière or a version with tomato sauce, herbs, and feta. I went with the latter, and they were excellent, with all of the mussels being open. The feta added a unique, slightly salty touch, with the broth being delicious. They had brought us out some extra bread, and we made good use of it. If I were here alone, I might have this along with some sardines and leave very happy. We also got two whole fish, which were both ordered grilled and butterflied. First was the Dorado, or Orata, for $29.24 for 1.54 pounds. As is typical for this fish, it was delicate and light, but had plenty of flavor. The other was the American Red Snapper, which was a bit more expensive at $37.90 for 1.58 pounds. By comparison, this fish was a lot thicker and therefore, a bit more flavorful. We enjoyed both, with a slight preference going towards the cheaper fish for most outside of me and one other. Another highlight was the Scallops for $37.23 for 0.98 pounds, which came out to 14 large pieces. As recommended, we got these sautéed, with the scallops coming in a delicious garlicky juice on the bottom with plenty of other herbs. The scallops were tender while staying plump, though I slightly preferred the more caramelized tops at AbuQir, with these having a more uniform texture. The rest of the people liked what I couldn't eat, the $24.99 Octopus for around half a pound. The octopus came out pre-cut, which made splitting it very easy. I can't comment much on the flavor or saltiness as some other reviewers brought up, or else I'd be in the hospital right now post-anaphylaxis, but people liked it a lot. If you don't want to bother with the lines or crowds at the other fish spots, I would highly recommend going here. The fish is fresh, perfectly prepared, and seasoned just enough to highlight the natural flavors. I would go back.

They do reservations but there were plenty of tables available on a Saturday afternoon. The service was ok; they could have been more attentive in refilling the water. The chairs were a little rickety and the bathroom door would not lock. Food was pretty good though. Complimentary bread is provided with free refills. The eggplant dip was good and garlicky. The fried calamari had a light breading and was delicious with the two dips (no marinara though). I wasn't fond of the grilled shrimp as the char made it slightly bitter. Sauteed might have been a better choice. The grilled branzino was light, delicious and slightly garlicky. The sauteed scallops were delicious and were my favorite. It was cooked perfectly tender with a delicious sauce. The rice was nicely flavored and a good side dish for the meal. I preferred this to Hamido's except for the grilled shrimp and bread. The seasoning is lighter than Hamido's (which can be overly salty) but I think it compliments the seafood better.

It's a little overwhelming because there is definitely a lot of seafood to choose from. The fish selection looks fresh but they do have some previously frozen seafood like large prawns and lobster tails. They have the names of everything and the price per pound posted which can be a little intimidating because it's a bit expensive. We ordered a grilled branzino and asked for the large tiger shrimp. The staff behind the counter said it would be the ones without the head but when long at the sign, it said head on tiger shrimp so I was a little confused but we just went with it because we assumed the staff knew what they were talking about. We did also get the head-on large prawns. We asked for everything to be grilled and confirmed that they don't use butter or cheese or cream on anything and then we went upstairs to get a table. Upstairs by the window is nice because you can people watch on a good day. We asked the staff member if there were any butter or cream or cheese in the mezza or rice and she said no, so we proceeded to order those and also asked about the soup of the day. She told us it was a shrimp and corn soup and that sounded good so we ordered that as well. The mezza came and the babaganoush and moussaka were good. The lemon potatos were fine but other places have made it better. The tahini was tahini and nothing special. The soup came and we took a sip and it tasted like cream so we were confused because the staff member didn't mention cream when she was taking about it. We asked about it when another staff member came by to drop off the rice. The original staff member who helped us came back over and we asked her if there was cream in the soup. She told us that yes because it's a chowder and the chowder has dairy and told us that we ordered the soup. I'm not denying that we ordered it. My issue is that we specifically asked about avoiding dairy in other food menu items and she didn't even stop to mention that hey the soup of the day that you want is a shrimp and corn chowder and has dairy. She took it back but I felt like we were inconveniencing her because of her tone. The mains arrived shortly after. The head-on prawns came and then the branzino. The large head-on prawns were overcooked and a little rubbery. The branzino was a touch too lemony but that was probably my fault for squeezing lemon over it. The fish was firm and smooth. There wasn't a lot of flavor on either dish. By this time, our table is pretty full and one of the staff members came by with the tiger shrimp and he more or less just stared at the full table and then plopped the plate down right next to my husband's phone. We barely even had time to move plates around to clean up space for him, but I feel like they should have definitely looked a little harder because one of our plates was just full of bones and shells and could have been taken away which would have made room for the shrimp. They were also over cooked and rubbery. Throughout our meal, no one came to check on us once. At the end of the meal, I used my own hand sanitizing wipes and was a little puzzled that they don't give any to customers. We got the bill and were a little peeved that they charged us $3 to butterfly the branzino. We weren't told about that and we didn't particularly ask for them to butterfly it. There's individual hand wipes by the stairs and it's odd that staff don't bring them to you once you're ready to pay. Are customers expected to walk around with dirty hands to go grab the wipe by the stairs? It's definitely a one time experience and overall, I wouldn't recommend it for the poor service and seafood being overcooked and underwhelming.

The atmosphere is effortlessly comfortable -- the kind of place where you just know everything coming out of the kitchen will be fresh. And it was. We started with an assortment of traditional spreads: taramosalata, tzatziki, tyrokafteri, skordalia, and melitzanosalata, all served with warm, pillowy pita. Each one was vibrant and flavorful -- perfect for sharing (or not). Then came the feast: marinated and grilled squid, swordfish steak, red snapper, lamb chops, crispy potatoes, and more sides than we could reasonably justify ordering... but absolutely did anyway. Our waiter thoughtfully asked if we had any allergies. By the end of the meal -- slightly comatose, blissfully full, and having completely lost track of time -- we realized the only thing we might be allergic to is work. Bahari isn't just lunch -- it's an escape.

My dad is Egyptian, so food like this carries real meaning for our family, and Sabrys delivered in every way. The moment we walked in, we were met with the kind of warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like a guest of honor. They treat everyone that way, which makes it even more special. The meal began with fresh housemade bread, incredible hummus, baba ganoush, and salad, and then came the fish. Honestly, the best fish I've ever had, and we've dined at wonderful restaurants all over the country. We ordered the grilled platter with calamari, shrimp, and salmon, plus a fried combo that was light and perfectly done. Not greasy, just real home cooking, like your Egyptian grandmother made it. The branzino was outstanding, and the rice brought me straight back to childhood. Every dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and care, because it was. If you want to eat somewhere that feeds your soul as much as your stomach, come here. We'll be back every chance we get.

Being honest, it's been a while since I have returned because I have favored Hamido Seafood lately, right after a previous love affair with Abuqir Seafood two doors down. Then there is the old reliable Astoria Seafood and the new kid on the block, Le Petite Pecheur, which I really enjoy as well. However, once again, Sabry's proves again that they have the best pitas in the business. A full basket comes with fluffy and chewy goodness that none of their competitors can match. I do wish their dips (babaganoush, humus, tahini) were better as I have mentioned, but they are all solid 7's. Onto the seafood. What an excellent version of Grilled Octopus (9/10), with maybe the best crispy char I have tasted in recent memory. I do wish the sauce had a touch of vinegar. Not a big deal. Another near perfect dish was their Grilled Sea Scallops (9/10). They were extra large, super tender, sitting in a pool of delicious tangy sauce (reminiscent of NoLa style BBQ shrimp sauce). The Grilled Shrimps (7/10) were slightly overcooked, while the Taojine Mixed (7/10) was somewhat watery and a bit too dill forward. Lastly, the broth of the Seafood Soup (7/10) was clean and light. The calamri and clams were still tender, but the shrimps were a tad overcooked once again. Clearly after this meal, I have to add Sabry's back into my rotation of pick your own seafood type of restaurants. This was the place where I had my first experience with Egyptian style seafood and it is still one of the best after all these years.

The whole vibe felt warm and made it a really nice family dinner. My grandma and mom both seemed happy and enjoyed everything, which honestly mattered most. We ordered two Greek salads (definitely could've gotten away with just one -- they're huge and very shareable). We also had the Mediterranean spreads: tzatziki, eggplant, and a spicy spread. Everything was solid and great for sharing. We also got grilled octopus as an appetizer -- super tender and really well done. For my main, I had the grilled deboned red snapper -- absolutely delicious. It came with a creamy lemon sauce on the side that you can pour over the fish, plus oregano fries and grilled vegetables. The veggies were amazing, especially the grilled onions that just melted in your mouth. We also ordered takeout: kefte kebab with fries, which was maybe smaller portion but it was good flavor. For dessert we had a baklava float (I think that was the name) with coffees to finish. Very happy with the whole meal overall. Drinks at the bar beforehand were also a highlight -- sangria and a gin, lavender, elderflower, cucumber cocktail that my grandma actually loved.

If we wanted to get a table in the main dining room, the wait was estimated to be over 2 hours (we went around 8pm), so I highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to go. The staff were very quick with service and very friendly. We were offered toasty bread with some lemon and an olive spread while we waited for our food (which also came out super quick!). We ordered the octopus and lamb chops. The octopus was incredibly tender, the meat was very soft - I personally would've preferred a little more bite to it, but it still tasted good. The lamb chops were flavorful. The medium here is on par with medium rare at most other places, and one of our pieces was borderline rare. At the end of the meal we were also offered complementary desert, which was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed our meal overall, but just know that it's a little on the pricey. The octopus and lamb chops came out to $80~ pre-tax and tip. Would recommend if you're a fan of seafood!
