I used to come here as a kid every single weekend with my family. Over the years, the food has stayed consistently the same as I remembered. The service was a bit slow since it was busy on a Saturday morning, but our server was friendly and as fast as she could be. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lumberjack still looks the same with a cottage/cabin vibe when you walk in with all the wood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend trying their breakfast platters as they taste really good. They also offer early bird dinners. We got the special of the day which was a breakfast steak with hash browns and eggs. My nephew got a biscuit and gravy dish and added sausage. I do recommend trying this place because it is something different every day with their specials.

If you like big portions of food, this is the right place for you. The price fits for each meal. Love their seasoned fries and sweat potatoes wedges. We ordered 3 for party of four. The first server who took our order for our drinks kind of took a long time for him to serve our drinks. The second server who got our food order has to check on it and direct order him to bring it to our table. Which the lady apologize for the delay of service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is the same old mountain style of interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now check out my pics and reviews.

Friday, December 19, 2025 Approx. 6:16 PM QUICK SUMMARY: Great restaurant, food & service. Will come here again. So, I had been going to Denny's in Lodi & Stockton for years, but that restaurant chain has gone totally down the tubes... sad but true. Therefore, I thought I'd give Lumberjacks a shot. PROS - - Within 45 seconds of entering the restaurant, this young dude named Mike guided us to our table, with menus and silverware in hand, served us water and informed us that our waitress would be with us soon. (If this were Denny's, we'd be waiting forever, and when we finally got our table, it would take 10 minutes just to get menus and then another 10 minutes to order.) Our waitress Rachel was very pleasant, energetic and took our orders right away. When the folks from the booth next to us cleared, Mike was cleaning up the table within one minute of its vacancy. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: Give Mike & Rachel raises ASAP. - While we were waiting for our meals, I was reading some of the other Yelp reviews on this venue, and was surprised to see all the negative comments. Was worried that my order might be unsatisfactory. I ordered Ribeye Steak & Eggs and it was DELICIOUS, and the food volume was large, as advertised. What was also impressive was that once the steak was done, the kitchen staff brought the piping hot plate to our table immediately. (If this were Denny's, the steak would have languished on the pick up counter for several minutes until someone had the time to bring the dish to our table.) - The restroom was clean, which also means a clean kitchen and food storage & preparation. CONS - Like Denny's, the interior temperature was cold, meaning that management is trying to cut electricity costs. If the temperature in this restaurant was warm, I'd give my review 5 stars. CONCLUSION: One of the best remaining old-school family restaurants in Stockton.

Went here on a roadtrip with my family. We arrived just a little before close, we didn't check the time so I know that's frustrating and we probably wouldn't be getting the freshest they had to offer. That being said, the food was cold, everything had a very strange flavor, like cleaning product, and nothing was appetizing. Even my prime rib was very fatty, cold, and lacking flavor despite looking delicious. My niece's soda tested like straight Ajax bleach, we both agreed not to drink it. I assume since they were closing they probably had been cleaning up and we were tasting some of that. Not sure. Best thing by far was their bread and honey butter. Waitress was EXTREMELY kind though and very very sweet. Service was fine. But for the price, go somewhere else. We barely touched our food.

Mushy fry's Dry tri tip chicken dry as hell and ribs were not tasty the trip was so tough and dry 28$ thrown down the drain

Came to Lumberjacks for some breakfast! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has an old school diner vibe. You could picture a group of older men coming here as ritual on the weekends - classic diner![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My biscuit with honey butter was the highlight - absolutely delightful- moist and a bit sweet.Eggs were good. I ordered 2. Presentation could use some work as they served it on a huge plate but no big deal for a diner. Service was okay.

Very good.. service is exceptional.. always checking coffee and water. Very quick breakfast. 10-12 minute wait after order and piping hot! Coffee is very good 4.75 stars for a breakfast stop while traveling

Love that the Arnold Palmer was with pink lemonade !!! Yummy

Went Friday for late lunch/early dinner Food was so good and seated right away ...big portions and nice staff and one day I'll not order food and try the big chocolate cake lol I like that they have a dry erase board with specials and the soups for the day helps with the decisions making.

Service was 10/10. Extremely fast service and food was delicious! Our server checked in on us after we received our food which is always a must. Portions are large enough to even share if that's your thing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathrooms were clean and they do offer a changing station.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed watching the owner jump in and support in all areas of the business especially on a busy Sunday. Appreciate your hard work and employees Lumberjack Stockton! I would highly recommend!

It's been a while since we visited so we decided to stop in for a bite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was nice and clean, they updated the seating since our last visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We split the appetizer sampler, I had the fish and chips, and my wife went with the French dip. The food was good as always and came out hot but the service was slower than usual unfortunately we didn't see much of our server after the food and drinks were brought out... seemed like they might have been short staffed. Besides that it's still a good diner to get a good meal from.

Came to have a birthday breakfast/lunch with my son. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was asked if a table was ok but I asked if we could get one if the booths in the back. The male host told us that the back was closed, even though people were using the back area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was really nice but she took too long to come back to take our order. The time to get our food was really long, but the food was hot and fresh. The BBQ sauce on the chicken sandwich was alright. Not something I will be getting again. The Hashbrowns were delicious and the biscuit sandwich was also great. Weill come back probably at a future date to try again.

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while now, based on word of mouth. In order for the 2 of…read moreus to get maximum exposure to Fork It's quality, ordered 1 12" Cowboy with BBQ sauce on the side; 1 12" Clucking Bacon Ranch, 1 chocolate cream pie, 1 coconut cream pie and a single order of onion rings. My husband called in the order and I advised him to get there early as things have a tendency to sell out. 15 minutes later he arrived in the small strip mall off Don & Hammer, happy to find a disabled spot almost right in front. The area itself is a bit sketchy but okay during the abbreviated hours, mostly 11AM-4PM.. Closed Saturdays and most Sundays. The two big bags of wonderful smelling food cost $70, and I will describe and show photos of just what you will receive. A special note for the owner's son, Big D. The fact you noticed my guy was both elderly and disabled and offering help with the bags was beyond and above. He doesn't mention it but he's still a bit unsteady after hip surgery. My food rating is 4.5 but genuine kindness bumps it to a full 5! We started in splitting the chicken sandwich. I loved the fresh, lightly toasted bread and the fact this small business father and son team source locally. The roll was dressed with shredded lettuce and a couple ripe tomato slices. Two meaty slices of bacon added to the enjoyment, but what really knocked me out and made this such a fine value, 2 huge, (about the size of your palm and fingers), slices of breast with another half thrown in for good measure. The chicken benefitted from marinating then grilling just right. Missing in action? Any and all ranch dressing-I even looked for to-go containers but none to be found. Comparing notes with DH he said his bread was dripping with sauce to the point of being soggy...I guessed when the sandwich was upright on the drive home everything wet rushed to one side! Stuff happens. The size of these sandwiches is huge but we moved on to the Cowboy for dinner. Cut in two, I took the smaller side, closer to 5". I've deconstructed down to the point of separating out onions, mushroom and tri tip. We opted for Provolone for more of a cheesesteak vibe. Generous slabs of mild cheese helped hold the whole thing together. DH grilled tri tip and ribs for the Stockton Ports game for several years and knew what to look for. The consensus, fair amount of meat, cooked medium well, tender with good flavor. I specified BBQ sauce on the side, which was no problem. That way I could deconstruct my half Cowboy, could be a nurse thing! DH thought too many onions while I thought the ratio to meat was spot on. Sadly the mushrooms turned out to be 3/4ths of one button mushroom thinly sliced for my share. Both grilled onions and mushrooms add additional moisture and flavor. Adding the sauce, a molasses tomato blend with a small peppery kick made for a very enjoyable meal. The onion rings were about 1/2" thick and plentiful. Crispy on the outside while still being moist on the inside with sweet onion. The coconut pie was creamy with toasted coconut sprinkled over the whipped topping. The crust was of interest, buttery cookie instead of graham cracker or standard pie crust. Our chocolate cream pie was a chocolate lover's dream. A light mousse touch to the filling with heavier ganache brownie crust. We're still working on that one. So 4 meals, 2 happy campers and even our dogs give 4 paws up.

Some plates were worth it, others weren't, and at the prices they're charging the gaps were hard to ignore. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. The deviled eggs were a hit at the table and went fast. The jalapeño on each one was a nice touch, though the heat varied depending on which egg you grabbed since it was just a thin slice. The salmon cakes were solid, nothing to complain about. My mom's ceviche tostada was loaded, the avocado was generous and fresh, but the ceviche itself lacked the acidity you expect from the dish and had very little shrimp in it. She said it felt more like a lunch item than a dinner offering, though two of them were filling. My mom's friend had the steak frites, which was the standout plate of the night: a lean cut with a rich mushroom béchamel, well cooked, and the frites were fried rather than what you might expect, but the flavor delivered. My dad's spinach salad was underwhelming, overdressed with a balsamic that was too sharp and overpowered everything else. My ribeye was the disappointment. At $65 I expected better. It was thin, closer to pounded than what you'd expect from the cut, came out medium instead of medium rare, and didn't feel substantial for the price. The baked potato was a basic side, sour cream and onion, nothing more. The broccolini arrived at room temperature, borderline cold, which was unexpected. The au jus on the side didn't add much for me. Service was attentive but veered into overdone territory, the kind of performative politeness that signals they want a good tip more than they're genuinely being warm. It was noticeable. Also worth knowing: if you're seated near the windows, the afternoon sun can be blinding depending on when you go. The atmosphere is genuinely nice and this place works better as a brunch spot than a special occasion dinner destination. I've had better meals here before, which is why I know they can do better. One practical note: if you're parking in the disabled spots near the leasing center next door, the sidewalk doesn't connect to the restaurant entrance. You'll need to go through the parking lot to get there.

If you've ever eaten there they are a 4 on a scale of 10. It was ok. The combo pizza kind of reminded me of a hand tossed Dominos pizza but maybe a little softer dough. I'd give it a 5 out of 10. I like that Michael's or David's style pizza. This one is ok. There are a lot of other things on the menu and the pricing is a little high. My husband also bought a beer for $6.
