A friend of mine and I ate at Lupe Tortilla on 2/16/2025. I ordered a chicken burrito with black beans vs. refried beans and a sangria. First of all, the service was super slow. Our waiter, Jorge, was very nice but appeared very disorganized and didn't seem to get the flow down on how he should be waiting on his tables. Everything took forever to get. The sangria was awesome but the burrito was no bueno. There was probably a 70% black bean to 30% chicken ratio in the burrito; way too many black beans. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo of it because I was too busy picking out the extra beans before I could eat it. Also, when you are paying almost $20 for a burrito, it better be good and this wasn't that great. Food was very mediocre. Food + poor service = no going back. Fabulous birthday celebration! Dimitri was amazing manager. Took care of us and checked in on us multiple times. Cristopher, our waiter, was the best! It was crowded and had the best service. Came here recently and took advantage of their brunch menu. Six of us were seated at a standard-sized booth. Choices were vast, so we took our time pouring over the menu. Two large bowls of chips were brought to the table, along with 6 small plates and 4 small bowls of red salsa. We ordered drinks and queso to start, then ordered our meal (all but one of us in our party ordered from the brunch menu, and that included two children's meals) after the queso was delivered. Queso was good, but I could see the table was getting just a tad crowded when our drinks arrived. When main dishes arrived, the queso plate was never cleared, and that made for an even-more crowded table! Oh my! Children's dishes were nicely done. The pancake was huge and way too much to finish. That was the case for many of the other items we ordered too -- tasted good but way too much, and enough that multiple to-go cartons were brought to the table. Scrambled egg taco with jalapeño sausage was my choice. Tasted great, but each piece of sausage was about the size and length of one of my fingers, so politely biting into a soft taco and yanking out the entire sausage piece was inevitable. Sausage should have been cut smaller to make it easier to eat. Dishes ordered by others in my party were enjoyed, but again, there was way too much. This is an okay Tex-Mex spot. Service was good (other than the crowded table) and food was nicely prepared, but scaling down the portions or offering smaller appetizer options (for those of us that can't down a full plateful of food) would make Lupe Tortilla even better. read more

Every time I go to a Lupe tortilla I say "never again Paul, never again". Yet I found myself here against my better judgement last night. I am very happy they're open. I appreciate the workers and the fact they are out when lots of folks wouldn't be. So thank you. But the food quality vs price just isn't anywhere remotely near what I would consider good. Got the beef and shrimp fajitas. Beef was well done. Shrimp were pretty good. However the amount of beef isn't anything to write home about. For being tenderized you'd think it would not be super chewy and you see where I'm heading. Just not that good. One soda. One water. Tacos Al carbon with the same overcooked beef, and the beef and shrimp fajitas for on was FIFTY TWO (52) dollars. Now if I had a couple drinks. Maybe ordered an app I would say yah that's okay. We visited last weekend and I have to leave a review. Our waitress Cassidy was AMAZING!! Friendly, attentive, informative and so helpful. A true asset to Lupe's! Chips, salsa and beans were yummy. Love the seasoning of the beans. We tried a couple chicken dishes (Chicken Lupe?) and the crab filled enchiladas. All were very tasty! Management checked up on us, which makes you feel like they truly care about our dining experience. We will be back! read more

I dont recommend this location at all. My large queso and two sides of beef fajita were ice cold. I'm not sure if my waiter Ricardo let it sit out for a minute but that really sucked. I had to get it microwaved TWICE. The first time, he brung it back in like 10 seconds so did you even warm it up? After i noticed it was still cold, (fajita too), I flagged down another server and a tall bald server with glasses and a female waitress both ignored me. I said "excuse me" clear and loud as day but it's common for servers to not attend to tables that aren't theres. The ac blasting definitely didn't help the situation of the food already coming out cold. I don't typically have problems with the other lupe locations but this one really needs some help. Been coming here for awhile now but I feel I have to finally say something about this place. At first the place was great but the value of the service is going down. Food was delicious as always, but fountain drinks do not have flavor (please check soda machine) and shrimps look scronny from the parillada mixed trio (they taste unwashed and looks like they're not in full portions). There's always a wait time for parties, possibly due to the slow service. Waiters seem annoyed to serve you but it's understandable they have several tables to attend although they shouldn't show it to customers. Immensely slow to order and prepare food, like what's going on in the kitchen? Are they organized/trained in cooking? Recommendations to make this place better should be how to train their personnel better with time and space constraints. It can be done, the manager just has to be able to leverage these factors for maximum value in the restaurant. read more

The fajita and shrimp Campechena were very good! Taste, temp and portion size for everything was great . The margaritas are always perfect, strong and flavorful! Service is great too with someone periodically checking in on you! Prime dinner time does get very crowded and if you get sat in a table in the walkway be prepared to do a lot of shimmying. read more

The steak was rare and not the good kind of rare. Half empty sides and entrees that you can say, they threw it in there. That being said, the food was very underwhelming. Chuys on the other hand had my food ready to go by the time I left Lupe and the food was spot on. I've been going to Lupe Tortilla for year between the i10 location, willowbrook, and this one. This is the only location that has and assumingely will continue to disappoint. Is a small bar, I was trying to seat at the corner but they had a bunch of beer boxes in the way. Before I could even seat struggling with the chairs and the boxes the bartender was already asking me what did I wanted. The drink was a mojito Rita which tasted like a regular margarita, and they don't have that many options in the menu most of them margaritas. They played Spanish music, but the restaurant doesn't feels Latino friendly at least I didn't got that vibe from the staff. The nachos were good, but was the only thing I enjoyed here. On July 24,2024 around 2:40 pm i experienced racial profiling at Lupe Tortilla in Beaumont Texas. From the beginning we were not greeted by the hostess/server. After we received drinks our server was switched out without us being notified. Then another server approached us who was kind and accommodating. We proceeded with our order and the customer service was not up to par. Then we asked for the manager who did not introduce himself, after expressing our concerns we were then met with racial profiling and the manager refused to meet our needs. We explained to the manager we were not pleased with our service and he said that was fine. We proceeded to leave and was met with threats of calling the police and also an invasion of privacy by pulling out his cell phone and recording us. Went here with the family on a Sat evening for dinner. Hostess offers to seat us on the front patio right away since we wanted to sit outdoors. Cure is the parking lot, but this was a great option since we had our kids. The service was good and we ordered two drinks with our entrees. My husband had The Jefe margarita, which he described as having 'a kick'. I had the Strawberry Margarita, very yummy. We ordered fajitas and chicken enchiladas. The kids had the tacos and fajitas off the kids' menu. We were surprised that our son ate the beans and rice because he usually only eats the ones I make at home so that was a bonus. My only critique was that I had to add a little salt to the beans because they were a bit bland and that is rare for me because I never add salt to my food.
