I am not usually the biggest fan of bbq(a lot of bbq sauces aren't it for me)... but I LOVE Jake's, the secret is in the sauce!! It's sweet and tangy in the perfect way and ends up with a smoky flavor from when they cook it as well. I looooove the huge beef ribs here, and the chicken is pretty good too. I've also tried the baby back ribs, which my family loves but I'm more of a beef kinda gal. Haven't tried much else on the menu because I just love the beef ribs so much tbh. The fries and salad are good, some other sides kinda feel like an afterthought, but the sides aren't the highlight here. I like the "roadside" nostalgic vibe inside, and the staff are nice. Some of the staff have been there for a long time and know a lot of the customers. Overall, this is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood, and when Monrovia comes up in conversation, I always mention Jake's :)

They really did an outstanding job and helping coordinate and plan my event with my family. We were able to close the restaurant and make it a private event. They were very accommodating to our needs. Great menu for my guests. Everyone complimented the flavor of the food. Our menu was : brisket, bbq chicken ,Mac-n-cheese and potato salad with a green salad. The rested fit our Cowboy themed event. We were allowed to bring in our own DJ . The bar made delicious cocktails . The bartender very attentive. The service was 100/100 I would highly recommend them for any size event. I wish we would've ordered even more. The texture is perfect. Crisp crunch on the outside and perfect moisture on the inside. The way cornbread should be.
