Wow, a wonderful gem here in Arcadia/San Gabriel! I have been going to Meet You BBQ for skewers, but I might have to start coming here now! Service is ok. You order on the QR code anyway. Skewers are 4 for $7.99, which is on the pricier side imo. I loved the lamb soup. It was a big bowl for $14.99. I also got the spicy vermicelli $14.99, which had a lot of fatty meat. It was good but could have been spicier. I didn't like that I had to ask for the bbq seasoning. I think they should just keep it at every table. I think I might have missed the white buns on the menu? I would have liked to order that. I also want to try the shredded potato dish next time! -Small parking lot, next to HOP cafe -Closes really late, like 4AM -Credit card/Apple Pay accepted -Bathroom in the back

M Bar BBQ is a lively Chinese snack bar that seems to specialize in skewers. The environment is very loud with both loud customers and loud music. They were playing the best of Andy Lau on the day of my visit. If you know you know. The staff here were all super friendly and nice. There was a QR code for me to scan and order, but staff came along to check on me sufficiently. They brought me water and complimentary nuts and pickled veggies. I ordered Garlic Cucumber Salad ($7.99), Oysters ($14.99/4 piece), Chicken Skin ($6.99/4 skewers), Pork Belly ($6.99/4 skewers), Shao Bing, Chicken Gizzards ($6.99/3 skewers), Chicken Hearts ($7.99/3 skewers), Tornado Potato ($3.50/1 skewer), Squid ($5.99/1 skewer) and Beef ($7.99/4 skewers). For the record I tried a little bit of everything and mostly took it togo, but I was curious about so many of the menu items I over ordered. They were a bit heavy on seasoning but it was mostly tasty and super flavorful. This is definitely the spot to go to if you want to catch up with friends and get a little rowdy. I can definitely see myself coming back for more snackies.

Great food and nice people here. I ordered BBQ lamb and Beijing style fried sauce noodle. Super love the lamb, juicy and soft. The noodle is covered in plenty sauce and minced pork, and shredded cucumber. Plus, it is inexpensive at all. I Would definitely come back next time.

First review of 2026 So my friend and I were hungry and was hankering for some chinese skewers last night. This place was surprisingly really good, reasonably priced, and the vibes were chill. Open late that has a cute chinese bar vibe with drinks and good food. Service was on point too. This place reminded me of the late night skewer places with lounge vibe in China. I love those places when i go. We found this place on yelp and tbh was hesitant at first because it was new and it didnt have a lot of reviews. There has been alot of skewers places popping up and most are over saucy or powdered to mask the food. But it was closer to where we were so we decided to give it a try. The place is pretty authentic and you know it is if its has local chinese customers walking in and ordering like they do in China. Lol i actually love the skewers places in China. Everything we ordered was surprisingly good. The spices and seasonings were not overpowering and well balanced. They let you order off a paper menu written in English and Chinese or on their qr code. The qr code is better because you can earn points and actually may get discount on your first order. Also the qr code allows you to easily you make adjustments to seasonings like if you want no spicy or less seasoning or no onion etc... removes the hassle of verbally remembering to communicate it. My friend and i were really surprised how good everything tasted and the price of alcohol and food was very reasonable. Even bottle water was like $.50 for Kirkland water. Some other places has the audacity to charge up to $2-3 for that. All in all will be back.

I was craving for BBQ skewers, and found this place on yelp. The good reviews caught my eyes. The restaurant was not too busy when I came by. There is a small parking lot available, and parking was very easy. We placed the order online. We ordered beef, lamb, chicken skin, chicken gizzard, short ribs, egg fried rice, and siubang. Food was served promptly on a hot plate to keep the food warm. I am a big fan of chicken gizzard, but the chicken gizzard was decent without surprise. The beef and lamb were very flavorful, tender, and juicy. The lamb was more lean, and the beef had more fat in it. The chicken skin was very crispy that was like chips! The siubang was tasty, but it had some spice that will numb your tongue. Finally, egg fried rice was such a big surprise that the rice was very moist, and it was very flavorful! My server was impressive that she was very attentive of what I need and she offered me things before I asked for them. For example, she brought me an extra spoon and bowl to eat my fried rice. Mandarin music was playing in the background, which made me feel at home.

Very nice and yummy food. Excellent services. Restaurant is nice and new. Great parking lot too. They have a very nice patio too. Will be back for sure to try more food.

My family came to M Bar BBQ after a late concert since they're open until 2AM. From the outside it's hard to tell they're open because the windows are blacked out, but once inside it's clean, and spacious, with plenty of parking out front. This is a Chinese BBQ skewer spot, but instead of a tabletop charcoal grill, they cook the skewers for you and serve them on a hot plate to keep them warm. We got lamb, beef, pork belly, quail eggs, scallops, plus the garlic cucumber salad--everything was really good, and the cucumber salad was a standout. Our daughter got the potato tornado, but they put a bit too much of their spicy sauce on it (same with the quail eggs). The flavor was good, just a little heavy-handed, so next time we'd ask them to go light on the sauce. You order by scanning a QR code and adding items from your phone, which made it super easy to keep ordering more. Service was good and friendly. The vibe was fun, with '80s Chinese music videos playing karaoke-style on the TVs, which gave the place a nostalgic, late-night hangout feel. Great late-night spot for skewers--we'd come back

This place has such a fun vibe. I've been here twice with friends and the food has been amazing every time. The crawfish, skewers, wings, and cucumber salad are all super flavorful. Staff is friendly, service is on point, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay longer. Definitely coming back again!

I've walked past this place countless times since it's right in my neighborhood, and I'm so glad I finally gave it a shot today. Everything was surprisingly delicious. The lamb skewers was the highlights, but truly, everything we ordered was spot on. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, which makes the vibe even better. Highly recommend!

Nothing about it felt like chowder.

The portions are actually quite massive for each dish. All of it was very solid and tasty Chinese food. We were definitely very stuffed after this lunch was over! Service here is solid enough for a Chinese place. They were pretty quick with getting us extra plates to change out our dirty plates and more bowls as needed. And they were quick with the water. But yeah, you do have to flag them down to get their attention. They do have a parking lot here, and we got here early enough on a Sunday where parking wasn't an issue. However, I can see it being a problem on busier days. Boston Lobster is definitely worth a visit if you want solid Chinese food at a fair affordable price. Really good!

We had an incredible feast and would come back to reorder all of the dishes we tried this visit and more: Goi Xoai Muc ($15.99) - Mango salad with squid. Very light and refreshing. This is an unripe mango thinly cut and mixed in with traditional Vietnamese herbs. It also comes with some shrimp chips to funnel up this delicious salad. Oc Mong Tay Mo Hanh ($18.99) - Razor clams grilled with scallion oil. One of the least flavorful items by compare. Both my friend and I felt like the scallion oil was very light on these razor clams but enjoyed it with the sauces from other dishes. Oc Mo Bo Toi ($24.99) - Fat snails prepared garlic butter style. Delicious. These bigger snails makes them easier to pick them out with the skewers they serve this with. Ngheu Xao Bo Toi ($16.99) - Clams prepared garlic butter style. Yum. Juicier compared to the snails and absorbs the sauce well. The clam shell makes it easy to scoop up the sauce and drink it. Oc Len Xao Dua ($16.99) - Sea snails in a coconut milk sauce. One of my favorites but I know it's one of the more difficult ones to eat, cause you'll have to suck on it really hard to get the snail out. But the sauce is delicious and unique. So Diep Trung Cut ($15.99) - Scallops with quail eggs. Highly recommended by staff, They mentioned this was a popular dish. Very decadent. It is considered…read moreto be one of the best destinations for fresh seafood, with the accent on Chinese cuisine. What has shunned me from this place, is the distance and the traffic, from the SFV. Finally, I made the journey. And arrived for lunch, on a weekday. To come here and not order their iconic Signature dish, the House Special Newport Style Lobster, would be a sin. Imagine a trip that was almost 40 miles and an hour of traffic (one way), with no reward. It was time to experience the real thing. The signature dish. Walking in solo, I was given a booth. I liked that. On seating, I ordered a beverage to quench my thirst, catch my bearings and breath. Almost immediately, the servers kept bugging me to order. The place was barely 1/4th occupied. Whats the hurry. After all this, I had to repeatedly tell them, that i had already spoken with a server, regarding my order. Just wanted to relax first, catch my breath, sip my beverage. Coming here, I was aware that their tank lobsters would be in the 4-6 pound range. Good for, and ordered by, at least 3-4 people. So when I, as a solo diner, ordered a 4-pound lobster (with no other choice), just for myself, they began to leave me alone and give me more respect. The cut up wok prepared, House Special Newport Style Lobster, arrives wonderfully presented, with heaps of leeks, scallions and jalapenos. My kind of recipe. Truly unique and exceptional. There is no sauce, and only a mild flavor, yet tasty. My biggest concern here was (after reading numerous internet reviews), that the lobster would be rubbery and dry. Not so for me. I lucked out. Problem here is, while there is lots of meat (a 4 pound lobster will yield at the most, about a pound of meat), they do not have, or provide, the essential lobster cutlery, to do justice to this beautiful crustacean. I did ask though. They did not seem to care and told me to use my fork. LOL. Steamed rice is complimentary. So is a soup, with sweet and sour, being the only choice (I did not like this). Either way, my plan was to take leftovers (there was a lot), home, where I possess high class lobster cracking tools. And thank heavens I did. They were most useful, to crack and dig into all the lobster meat, that would have been inaccessible at the restaurant. With additional TLC, the leftovers held up well, to provide several additional lobster meals. Need to go back to try their enticing and reasonably priced variety of lunch specials (more seafood, choices minus lobster). Another sought after box on my list, is now checked.
