Our food came out in 12 minutes They were impressed and loved everything they ordered. As usual " Jose " was the BEST!!...Every time we come I'm asking for him. He's very attentive & comes to the rescue before you can even ask for anything. As we were leaving both my Mom and daughter said you were right about this place, We Love It! I'll continue to tell my family, friends and colleagues about Mi Pueblos Mexican Grill University because with the exception of Chic Fil A , restaurants don't provide good customer service anymore and that's sad. Went to this place on a Sunday, the ambiance was your typical family Sunday. The service was okay they forgot something we had order which was fine. I have had better Mexican food than this. Soft opens have their kinks. The service was green. It took a while for us to receive our food (40 min or so). Drinks sat empty for almost the entire time we waited for our food. It was funny because we were asked 5 times of we wanted more drinks by 3 different people. You get complimentary chips and mild salsa as soon as you sit down and you can ask for hot if you think it's too wimpy. I ordered enchiladas rancheras topped with chicken with a side of rice and refried beans. The cheese enchiladas had the most oily enchilada sauce I've ever seen. The chicken and peppers on top were tender and flavorful. Refried beans were nothing special. The rice was the good, but the oil from my poor enchiladas filtered through it. It was rough, but I think that was due to inexperience. Mi Pueblo as a brand hasn't let me down in the past so I'm willing to go back and give this location another try. read more

We visited the newest Mi Pueblo location tonight for their soft opening (dinner hours only) and while it certainly had some hiccups it was still a nice evening with a decent meal. We arrived a little after seven and were promptly seated. The new building is quite impressive inside and out. If you've ever been to the Mi Pueblo in Afton Ridge think something similar in style but on a grander scale. They have waterfall fountains in the main dining area! Pretty neat. Our drink order was taken and after a little Coke or Pepsi menu confusion our waiter mentioned it was his first night working. Not a big deal, new restaurant. Sweet tea was really good. Well brewed, not bitter. Unfortunately that was kind of where the snowball started rolling downhill. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought out and while the salsa was decent the chips were unsalted and a little bland. Then the wait. It was almost right at forty minutes before our food arrived. Now again, new restaurant, soft opening, things happen. That being said they weren't overly busy, just a normal weeknight dinner service, so the delay was a little disappointing. In what seems to be an annoying if not slightly amusing trend with my household only my dish was brought out incorrect. My quesadilla was absolutely smothered in peppers and onions when I had asked for neither of those things. To the waiter's credit he apologized and I had a correct dish in less than five minutes (although that did make me wonder why it took so long to get our dishes in the first place). Despite all the fuss, once I actually got to eat it was wonderful. Chicken quesadilla with plenty of both juicy chicken and fresh cheese, encased in a toasted flour tortilla, packed with flavor. Spanish rice on the side was somehow light and rich at the same time and complimented the dish well. Some of my favorite rice I've had at a restaurant. My only other complaint was the apparent lack of communication among the staff. We had three separate employees, one of which I'm fairly certain was the manager, ask us if we would like refills for our drinks at various points during the night, but they would often never come back. More than once we waited over fifteen minutes with empty cups after refills had been offered by someone before getting a fresh glass, not necessarily from the same person. I hope the staff here can work out the first day jitters and shore up the quality of service a little because most of the food here is certainly worth a visit. Time will tell. read more

Love love love this restaurant. Authentic Mexican food with a very diverse menu. So diverse that it can be a little overwhelming. The decor is gorgeous, so gorgeous that you don't expect to be able to buy a reasonably priced meal. I love the range of prices for the menu. My all time favorite entree is the shrimp chimichanga. I haven't found shrimp chimichangas anywhere else do I have to keep coming back. I just wish they had them on the lunch menu. A girl can wish. Oh and the Panther margarita is shareable. 4 stars because our server was not great. I've never had that experience coming here. She wasn't rude or anything she just added nothing to our experience. All I have to say is, go on a Tuesday evening for a great time. They have a DJ on the patio and if you lucky to get a seat out there, enjoy it. From looking at the reviews before going, almost all of them recommended getting the Wildberry margarita. And the reviews did not lie about it. It was so good, me and my friends end up just getting a pitcher of it instead of each of us ordering one separately. I had the fish tacos and my friend had the California Burrito. We both enjoyed our food. Only thing we did not like was the spinach dip. The look inside the restaurant is very nice and clean. I cannot figure out why the rating at this location is less than four or five stars. My wife and I ate here for the first time the other night and it was absolutely amazing! We did not order any alcoholic beverages and I think the rating for this location has to do with the younger crowd and alcohol, so don't let the overall rating fool you about the food quality. We are Mexican loving people! 3 to 4 nights a week between eating out and cooking ourselves. We both thought the portions were very fair, the food was flavorful, our little server was as friendly as he could possibly be, and our experience was quite good! Their chips are perfectly cooked, their salsa is flavorful, their cheese dip is spot on, and both of our entrées were fantastic! I'm a sucker for authentic Mexican cuisine and I've tried it from several regions of Mexico and here in the USA. I can state with confidence that I am a Mexican food connoisseur. The food I tasted here was lacking, I was pleased they had a small vegetarian menu that consisted of about 7 different dishes, I got a combo of a burrito and enchilada. The sauce tasted like Italian spaghetti sauce. The salsa also tasted like spaghetti sauce. It was like they used loads of oregano and...basil? I tried to eat it, but couldn't get past a few bites. The cheese sauce had zero flavor, it was basically white liquid. What I did enjoy was the service and the attitude of everyone that worked there. After trying Mi Pueblo for the first time, I was craving it the following weekend so I had it twice in a week pretty much. The restaurant is pretty big inside and each time we've gone, it's been pretty packed but not to the level where we had to wait to be seated or have an extended period of time waiting for our food. The service is pretty good. But the food is great. Starting with unlimited chips and salsa, always a great option. I had the chicken chimichanga with rice and it was very good (rice was nicely seasoned) - the downside to the meal was that it either came with rice and beans or guacamole salad (lettuce, guac, tomatoes, and I think sour cream?). I'm so used to getting all of that with the chimichanga meal so I also ordered the guacamole salad - it was ok but the lettuce was so watery that it threw it off (so I wouldn't order the salad part again). My partner ordered chicken, steak, and rice and really liked it. The second time I went, I ordered 3 tacos and rice - the tacos were ok - they had a full layer of cheese that I wasn't expecting that the cheese would be added in a way that I literally just pulled a piece off and the whole block of melted cheese came off. The tacos weren't as flavorful so I probably wouldn't get them again and if I did, I'd get them without cheese. I don't recommend the tacos but everything else we've had has been good and the prices are average. If you have a craving for Mexican food, I would recommend Mi Pueblo. read more

We came for Brunch on Sunday, the first weekend they started brunch service. Eventhough is brunch, they still offer their full menu, which worked out for us as I was the only one who wanted breakfast. I ordered George's Omelet and it came with black beans and your choice of red or green Chilaquilles. I had the green, but it was a little too spicy for me so I'll try the red next time! I was seated by the beautiful waterfall decor but then there was the flies and gnats that turned me off. There were so many flies around my table even before the food came out. Mi Pueblo is very nice!! The food is really good. I ordered the ACP (arroz con pollo) with a piña colada. We had a party of 15+ with us and the waiter/waitress were very nice and patient with our group. We had to wait awhile to sit in the patio area which was a little chilly due to it being convert to a closed room when we arrived but the entire setup was nice.
