Decided to try something new! It's been a while especially with feeling comfortable enough to go sit and eat inside a restaurant. The atmosphere was nice I really like the bar to the left as you first walk in it's eye catching to me! The rest of the restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. Our waiter gave us some great suggestions to try on our next visit! For a starter my husband and I went with the bruschetta, a simple yet tasty dish! When trying a new Italian spot I tend to go for something most common and that's fettuccine Alfredo! I wasn't a big fan of the chicken in it, to me it just seems like it's boiled chicken and they piece it apart and add it to the dish. My husband got the chicken Parmesan and wow that breaded chicken was decadent! We are also picky when it come to marinara sauce but this tasted so delicious when compared to other places! My family has eaten at Maggiano's several times in the last few years. Everyone has always been excited. Our family ate there last Sunday. We arrived at 11. We had to be at a ballgame by 1:30 so we didn't want to rush our lunch. We waited 25 minutes to get seated. The waitress wanted to make sure we saw the liquor list. Sure. We have 4 kids with us at 11 on Sunday. Sure that was a priority! She only became friendlier as the bill was coming. Obviously the bread has been changed. Not good. Dry untasty! We asked for Parmesan- finally asked again for seasoning. She put oil in one dish- The bread needs to be reconsidered! I ordered lasagna which I usually love. The cheese on top was so chewy. I spent my time trying to figure how I could chew it safely. Our bill was almost 200. We left a 45 tip. Pretty expensive for the cheapest food in the world to prepare at home. We will not be returning to this restaurant any time soon. Just lost this family's business. Have to find another restaurant that makes our family excited eating at. Sorry Needs some work! read more

Over priced on side salads and needs better to go packaging. Maggianos has become more of a dine in and not a carry out place. The food seems be less than par for carry out. I ordered veal parm, spaghetti Aglio Olio with side salad. They put the veal parm and the pasta in same container. Which this pasta has oil on it. So the bottom of the veal was drenched in the oil from the pasta. Container of sauce for the veal and it wasn't even enough for 2 pieces and there were 3 pieces. It's very simple to learn how to package to go orders. Maggianos needs to do some learning. I got the maggianos side salad. $6.50 WAY to much. It's more like a $3 salad. Lettuce some bacon stuff, cheese onions. and it's a small side salad. For a buck more you can get a meal salad from culvers. My family got chinese and I wished I had gone with chinese instead. read more

The service was amazing. Our waitress always ensured our drinks were full. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very patient with us as we were deciding what to order. She seriously was the best waitress I've ever had. The atmosphere was beautiful. The lighting was perfect and felt very cozy. The food was absolutely the best Italian food I've had around this area. The family style is the best way to do it. It's mainly for groups 4 or more, but it comes with tons of food. You get to try a great selection of dishes that are offered. The two salads were absolutely perfect. We then got the mozzarella marinara which was to die for. The meatball appetizer was seasoned to perfection and came with two giant meatballs. Everything about this experience was worth the price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Italian food. read more

We've lived in OP for a whole year and finallllly just tried this tonight for a special occasion dinner. We came in and decided to sit in the bar area due to a duet playing live music...we waited and waited...and no service - so got up and decided to get a table and SO glad we did because our server was amazing and the atmosphere was so much better in the main dining area. We got the two can dine meal or whatever it's called - 2 salads, two pastas, two take home pastas as well as a dessert! So. Good. Bread was delivered to the table with their yummy olive oil, parmesean, and cracked fresh pepper for dipping. I got the Italian salad and hubs got the chopped salad. Both were a great size and delicious and super fresh tasting. We got the meatballs and spaghetti - and the Ziti - and to take home - Lasagna and another Ziti. SO GOOD!!! I'm honestly not a sucker for tomato based pastas...but Ohhh goodness. Now I am in love with the Ziti here!! We shared the chocolate cake. What a great date night special occasion kind of night with great service (not in the bar area) and a beautiful atmosphere. We will definitely be back! read more

The bread was fresh, hot and had the perfect crust. I ordered the gnocchi & Italian sausage but opted for the whole wheat penne pasta. The serving size was ample that I saved half of it to take home. The sausage was very good and had just enough of a spicy bite to it. I ordered a single serving of Gigi's butter cake. WOW! I would definitely return for just an ordered of this! The edge was crusty and inside was warm and soft. The strawberries and whipped cream were great additions. This place will be on my list of places to return to. read more

Excellent food and great service. The lasagna and the baked ziti dishes were reasonably priced in the couples meal deal. The bread, salad, and main dishes were absolutely delicious, seasoned nicely, and their sauce was excellent. Gail was our server, and she was attentive, efficient, and nice. We were served at a good pace so that we were able to make it to our movie on time. My girlfriend and I, as well as our friends, have all been there before, and we have never been disappointed. The Italian strawberry cheese cake was perfect, and the six dollar take home meals were just as good the following day. We absolutely love Maggiano's! read more

This was our second visit. Being honest, the only reason we came back was that the food was so gross the first time that corporate sent us $20 gift card to try again. We ordered the meal for two. It's about $50, but you get a TON of food. You share an appetizer or salads, order 4 entrees (2 of which are to take home with you) and you share a dessert. It's an extremely good price. We've had excellent service on both visits. The food is good, but not really better than other chain Italian places around. I'd avoid fried foods from here (that was what was inedible from our first visit). I enjoyed their lasagna a lot. The spaghetti and meatball was good. Beef papardelle was a little bland; maybe just needed more sauce. The baked ziti is waiting in the fridge for a future meal. The creme brulé was not that great. It just tasted sweet, but not very rich. Maybe more vanilla would improve it. Ours was a little over-bruléd. The black bits were not yummy. read more

While a chain restaurant, Maggiano's was surprisingly good. We figured it might be, with the building always being packed, and we had a to wait about 45 minutes for a table (we planned last minute and didn't' make a reservation). Luck for us, the bar area was open, so we enjoyed a couple drinks before getting seated. I had the house white sangria, which was perfectly sweet. We ordered the Marco's meal for two once seated. The bruschetta tour was amazing - so many unique combinations besides the typical tomato and basil. My favorite was the roasted pair and prosciutto. Our entrees for their were the eggplant parm and alfredo with chicken. Both were wonderful. We took home the four cheese ravioli (which has an amazing pesto sauce!) and mom's lasagna. The dessert was probably my favorite part - tiramisu! The slice was huge and everything I wanted it to be. The chocolate drizzled on the plate was perfect! We had good service overall, though a little slow. However, the restaurant was busy and we were in no rush. read more

As many time as I have been here for dinner or date night, I have never been disappointed by the food or the service! My kids are extra picky but can usually find something they like on the menu. We have our favorites, my wife likes the lobster carbonara and my all time favorite is the linguine with clams in the white sauce, nothing beats it! I told her that I would branch out and try something new and she thought it was a great idea, but decided herself that she would stick with what she knows, the carbonara. I asked our wonderful waitress (I wish I remembered her name) which dish she thought would be better between the shrimp scampi and a few other choices, she pointed to the shrimp cacio e pepe. I didn't really consider it at the time, but I said let's do it anyway! Bacon, spaghetti noodles, and perfectly seasoned shrimp! It does not beat linguine and clams, but man was it good! But the waitress told me that this item was going to be discontinued soon! I'm going to cry! It was simply amazing, cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Why would you discontinue perfection? As always, I will be coming back, and probably very soon, but if you are reading this Maggiano's, I am begging you not to discontinue the shrimp cacio e pepe! Please, for the sake of shrimp and pasta lovers everywhere, keep it on the menu! I need my go to dish beside the linguine and clams! Even if my cries are not heard, I still love ya! We did a pickup and as stated in a previous comment, whoever is working the curbside is very friendly! And the food came out on time. Their complimentary bread is really good! We got the bombalina app, fettuccine Alfredo and Blackened salmon & crispy shrimp. Everything was great except the crispy shrimp wasn't very crispy (most likely because it's in a sauce). Incredible service on Wednesday! We had a reservation and had to wait a little once we arrived but they were sanitizing and cleaning the table/booth for us! (Thank you) Our waiter was INCREDIBLE. He was also the bartender so he was running around like a mad man. I wish I would've caught his name but I forgot to ask. He was funny, friendly and talkative.... despite being busy! He joked with us and chatted. I feel like that kind of attitude is hard to come by with everything going on right now. Our food was delightful. The bread and oil dip at the beginning had Parmesan (?) in it and it was so much better than other oil dips I've had. We got salads and chicken Parmesan and a lemon butter chicken something. We were a little confused because the spaghetti came on The side and we have never had it prepared that way. (Whatever, still tasty) Then.... the brownie dessert! Yum. We visited last night for my daughter's birthday. I'm not usually a fan of large chain restaurants but I've been to Maggiano's before in Orlando and remembered it being ok and she wanted Italian. I should have taken her to a tried and true like Garozzo's or the original Cascone's or finally tried Jaspers but I didn't. First, there was NOTHING bad, there just wasn't anything great. The service started out great, our waitress was so nice but it got hard to flag her down at the end. My guess is they are understaffed. My daughter and husband did the Marco's deal which really isn't much of a deal when you do the math - you basically are getting free dessert. Any way, he let me share his salad with him (chopped) and it was fine. The bread is good, warm, crusty and soft. They have oil on the table for dipping. It's by no means bread as good as Bravo but it's fine (see the trend here). For entrees I had the sausage and gnocchi. The gnocchi was good, fluffy, not too dense, sauce was good, sausage was spicy and there was a lot of it which was nice. My husband had the mushroom ravioli and my daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo. I sampled both. I thought the Alfredo sauce was really bland. The mushroom ravioli was good but I've had better. For take home dishes they chose the 4 cheese ravioli and braised beef pappardelle. They haven't eaten those yet so can't review. For dessert they brought lemon cookies for my daughters birthday and we ordered the tiramisu. They were both just fine. The lemon cookies could have had more lemon flavor and the tiramisu was overloaded with cocoa powder on top which made it really bitter. Again, there was nothing horrible but nothing great either. I won't be back. I do feel like in KC we are lacking a lot of really great Italian options but there are a few that are much better than this. Oh yeah, and the bill for 3 people with NO DRINKS - $70 for PASTA. That's kind of excessive. read more

The customer service is subpar, at best. We made a delivery order through DoorDash, who cancelled the order half an hour prior to it being delivered. We called the restaurant and told them our dilemma. They told us it would have to be discussed with DoorDash. Okay, that's fine. We then asked to place an order directly through them for carry out, but they did not have an opening until late in the evening. The guy did not apologize. He was non-chalant. Not an ounce of empathy. Then, when we did get a hold of DD, they told us that Maggiano's did not pick up the phone to confirm the order with DD! So it was on Maggiano's all along. It feels like Maggiano's has a "hell with you" attitude if you are not physically coming to the establishment to eat there. I know it is a pandemic. Folks are understaffed and overworked. (And it's a "holiday" but sheesh.) I am so disappointed! I heard the food is lovely but I'm good on them if they are not going to show at least a smidgen of empathy toward their customers. read more

Starting from our dry and terse waitor and ending with our burnt, god-awful brownie, this experience was a mess. I ordered a salad and boy did I quickly regret that. I never asked to ingest an entire onion, yet that was a huge part of the salad, to the point where my nose started burning. They forgot to add crutons to the salad. The chicken was bland and had a gross flavor. The vinaigrette was overwhelming and made the whole salad extremely soggy. My husband did enjoy his shrimp meal, however. After the meal, we made the mistake of ordering dessert. Unsurprisingly, the brownie came out burnt and very hard. We couldn't eat it. Wouldn't eat here again. read more

This restaurant ruined & I do mean RUINED our Valentine's Day dinner. They clearly overcommitted their carry out orders because my husband had an order for 630pm & didn't get his food until 740pm. On top of that, the food was over cooked, under sauced, the salmon was burnt, the salad had wilted brown lettuce & we asked for a cheesecake & got a tiramisu. I am going to call the restaurant & ask for a full refund because what we received was beyond unacceptable, the wait time was unacceptable & this is not how customers should be treated. I believe the true measure of a good business is how you respond to a bad situation. My husband and my daughter and I were seated last night, and unfortunately not greeted or addressed for about 15 minutes (as we watched other tables seated, order drinks and even order their meal before us). When our waitress did come, she was just coming off her break and we were VERY cranky. But she, the manager, and the entire staff went out of their way to make the rest of the meal special. They were attentive, the food was awesome, and we had a great night. My husband and I work in customer service and we know very well how things can accidentally go sideways. The management at this establishment knows how to turn things around and make things right and for that reason we will continue to come back and I suggest you do too. Side note: the bread is amazing, and so was the crostini starter and the chicken Parmesan! We had the brownie dessert and were not disappointed. Kudos to Amanda and her manager, thank you! read more

He did such a great job describing the meals that before I even ordered, I could taste them. He sold me on food I did not even want. The restaurant itself as nice. I've heard this chain served delicious Italian cuisine and was really looking forward to it. I was highly disappointed. The man who guided us to our table waved us over with his hand in a rude and casual gesture. Our server didn't seem too enthusiastic and remained that way the entire dinner. When the server delivered our food, she just handed it to us instead of placing the hot plates on the table. The presentation of the food was unappealing, especially the clam linguine. The taste of the food was even more disappointing. I had the clam linguine and it was bland. I felt like I was eating linguine with dish water. The sauce was watery and tasteless while the clams tasted like they haven't been washed since they left the ocean. My mom ordered the Denver steak in medium. It came out completely rare, so we asked our server to grill it up a bit more in the kitchen. After the rest of my family finished up the meal, the steak still hadn't returned. Our server came back to say that the steak would be ready in five more minutes. By that time, my mom had lost her appetite. We waited for 20 minutes. I was also disappointed in the service of the server. She didn't check up on us to even ask if the food was okay. The only time she talked to us was to take drink orders, order food, and deliver the food and check. We made eye contact with her and waved her over to finish paying-- yet she ignored us and went to take an order for a nearby table. We talked to the manager about the waiter's poor service and the long wait for steak. She dealt with the problem very professionally and made sure we were cared for. The manager is the only reason why I rated this place one star, or I would've rated it none if possible. read more

We followed the Overland Park Maggiano's during construction in anticipation of trying it given we had an excellent experience at the beautiful Nashville Maggiano's last summer, and we are short on Italian restaurants in the area. I've been to the OP location three times now, and the first time was for happy hour with girlfriends in the bar. We were impressed with the excellent service and quality of cocktails, especially the Pomegranate Martini which tasted as amazing as it looked. We were slightly disappointed that happy hour food was limited to flat bread which was okay, nothing special. The second visit was with a group of 12 for lunch a week ago. We had a reservation and when half of our party arrived late they wouldn't seat us until '90%' of the group had arrived which was strange, however the biggest shock was when a gentleman at the hostess stand said he 'highly recommended the family style dining', in fact he 'almost insisted on it with a group this size'. Family style dining is $34 per person; more than we wanted to spend for lunch, and there were four children in the group. I had the spinach salad with shrimp and it was outstanding. Others in the group ordered various pasta dishes and thought they were very good. The third visit was yesterday during brunch. We started off with Bloody Mary's which were mediocre. I wouldn't order them again. It was nice to be able to choose an entree from the brunch menu or lunch menu, all made to order. There was no brunch buffet which was fine with us. Our server could have known the menu better and was lax at times. We each ordered a house classic pasta and were able to order a second house classic pasta dish, complimentary, packed to-go at the end of the meal. How cool is that?!? The Lasagne, Mushroom Ravioli and Spaghetti/Meatballs were all delectable. The Braised Beef Pappardelle had very good flavor however the pasta was slightly overcooked and some stuck together. A couple of times a poised chef came through the restaurant to talk with a table of diners, perhaps clarifying a dietary request, which was notable. Overall the food is good (some exceptional) at this Maggiano's, the atmosphere is nice, and the to-go classic pasta freebie dish is awesome! However some staff are not as polished and professional as I would expect. read more
