Oh my, yummo!!! We totally scored by coming here for dinner last night when visiting the area from rochester, ny. We stayed at the hotel across the street, and though we had many options to choose from, this one stood out. When arriving we were instantly greeted and sat with fresh warm breadsticks! The menu is HUGE! wide variety with something for everyone. I had the hardest time choosing between a burger, burrito and pasta dish. After talking it through with our server I chose the burger. Which was fantastic. A Baja burger with Pico de gallo, avocado, garlic, pesto and aioli with delicious fries and incredibly tasty rsnch dressing on the side. With that, I ordered the blueberry tini which was very good and a fun electric blue ice cube. Manny got the southern fried chicken entree with red sangria. Both were fab. The service was wonderful! pleasant, knowledgable staff. Place was clean and inviting. I have not one bad thing to say. read more

Came back with another friend 3 days later and ordered the coconut shrimp and the Blueberry Vojito (yummy!). The coconut shrimp is quite good but the icing on the cake is the Pina Colado sauce. It's fantastic!! If you love coconut shrimp you NEED to try this. It's so, so good. The service was stellar and I'm still blown away by the cleanliness, attentiveness, and quality of food. I've tried out this location a few times now, it is clear why every business is doomed from the get - go. Parking is absolute nightmare as it's very limited, if you are set on having happy hour here expect to park across the street and try to fast walk thru a busy intersection. Women who wear stilettos just be prepared for a long walk then a sprint across the street. Despite the location challenges the place has been mobbed each time I went. I ate on the restaurant side and the bar side as well. Expect to wait a long time for service either way. Staff has been friendly and attentive yet slow moving at the same time. We sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before we even got a menu. On a good note, huge drink list and the food options are wide in variety which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. You can meet up with your meat - lover friend yet your gluten sensitive vegetarian buddy will be as satisfied upon seeing the many options to choose from. The quality of the food is not what you would get at a high end restaurant, but certainly satisfying and above most chain restaurant dishes. The portions are large so it's easy to share, I've yet to try dessert and maybe I would try sooner if there was available parking... I think this restaurant would do even better if they could get in the empty space next to max fish. First visit was horrible sadly. We had very high hopes of trying something new and Maggie McFly's happened to be the place of choice. Our party had 3 adults, a child and an infant. Waitstaff we had was a bit on the anti-social side and the food wasn't anything special for the price. Needless to say, we ordered cheapest items we could find and ended up with a $75.00 bill (with tip). What an insult that you advertise "build your own pasta" and charge extra for the meatball. Here's another insult - you advertise "kids meals" and have to pay EXTRA for the drink. I feel like I could have gone to Chili's or Cory's K&M (in Manchester) and gotten better quality food and service for $20.00 less. Lesson learned. Not worth the money and NOT family friendly, I'd advise others to look into putting their money toward a more worth while dining experience. If you see my other reviews I hope I send the message that I take a lot of care in what I write...show me someone working hard and having a bad night over someone who plops a place in town and doesn't care and I will give some leeway. I like to think MM is in the hard worker category...the people are nice. Went to Maggie's McFly's with twelve on Saturday later afternoon...reservations etc. They handled the addition of two extras with aplomb...not an issue...I was impressed...then it started... Holy cow...drinks were all messed up...we ended up with alot of extra beer, sat for ten minutes for a diet Coke...servers seemed to be teamed up but lacked coordination. Then the food...not bad...just screwed up...entrees before apps, mistakes on the orders...and I had the edamame dumpllings...well little edemame beans wrapped in rice paper...I mean...yea...just beans...bland and boring...recipe needs tweaking. Ambiance is ...loudest place I have ever been in...OK if food and service is good...it can be fun... Now the parking lot...I had to walk across the street...like...200 yards and no one has shoveled the path from the street...it wasn't lack of spaces...it was that three cars were going in the wrong direction and we all met in front...people honking, giving the finger....valet? what valet...not a soul in sight...this spot has always had parking issues...needs some creative thought. Mr Harper... MM has a local feel...don't let it turn into a chain......put you face, name up on your web site...let people know who you are... visit your restaurants ...alot...and shake everyones hand and tell them you are the owner...get to know your staff so they see you in the trenches,...get dirty with them (stop it)...work the line, serve desserts ... and sweep the floor with one of those small brooms and dust pansand let people see you doing it.... talk to everyone...you will build tremendous loyalty and get some leeway when things don't go right...owner visibility is a key to success... read more

Came here after our babysitter recommended it. I had been reluctant to try it before because it was only rated 3 stars, but we gave it a shot and I'm happy we did. Very extensive menu as others mentioned - Cheesecake Factory-like. Food was good and I don't have any specific complaints for what I ordered - coconut shrimp meal. Amazingly, and much to my delight, they were able to make a really good non-alcoholic strawberry margarita because I'm pregnant. My husband had the bang bang shrimp and chicken and was pleased enough that he cleaned his plate. We shared the banana caramel cheesecake xango and it was awesome! Our server, Sarah, was wonderful. Had lunch here yesterday and it was pretty good. They have a nicely size lunch menu with smaller portions of dinner items. They also have the option of a sandwich and side for 10.99, soup and sand for $11.99 or just a sandwich for 8.99. My mom got the tuna melt and said it was great. I got the pulled pork sandwich, and while it could've used more sauce, it was good as well. The pretzel bun was a nice touch. I got it with a side of sweet potato fries that were crispy and hot. I've also been here 2 or 3 times for drinks and apps during happy hour. It's a pretty good deal as they have lots of appetizers for 3.99 and the portions aren't that small. read more

That said, the entire experience is mediocre (would give 2.5 stars if I could). 3 stars is simply for the cool patio that you can enjoy on a nice summer day. So this is our story . We are not a young couple. We stopped for a meal on a Sunday the place was slammed. I understand we waited 40 minutes for a server lol not even a water so we left. Not happy. I get it very busy ok. We decided to try again omg. Friday afternoon slow not to busy perfect! We sat and waited 15 to 20 minutes not one server stopped by? She did walk by several time looked at us and moved on. Then the table next to us arrived. I kid you not they just took off there jackets and the waitress was taking a drink order? I'm ready to drop $150 for 2 to eat and this is how we where treated. I talked to the manager she's was like "well I can sit you somewhere else". I waited tables as did my wife. This was wrong. Because we did we tip quite generously 20 to 25 % . Now we will never go again nor will our friends or family! I would rate the food but never had a chance to taste it. Stay away!!!! read more

Have eaten at their other locations and been happy. Not so today in Glastonbury. I feel bad writing a poor review given Covid, short staffing, etc. but....the experience just wasn't up to snuff. We were seated fairly quickly but the service was SLOW. Menu is large but the two of use pretty much were there for a late lunch and quickly decided on what we each wanted. We were there mid afternoon, it did not seem crowded inside but the parking area was pretty full outside. Our sandwich orders took forever!!! Way too long even if they were short staffed. If this was 2:30 and a not busy time I can't imagine how slow it might be if they were busy. I ordered a tuna melt and my girlfriend had the Veggie Wrap. I had a thought when we were waiting so long I had a bad thought that perhaps when the food came it was going to be cold! It was. Don't know if it was the servers fault for not picking it up sooner or what. My tuna melt was awful. A messy, gloppy sandwich. Either they don't know how to make a tuna melt, or, the way they make it is just poor. It wasn't a melt. It was more like rye toast with ice cold tuna salad inside and a barely melted piece of cheese. I got the impression the sandwich was made in pieces and assembled as opposed to what a tuna melt should be and that's grilled as a whole to toast the bread, melt the cheese and warm the sandwich inside a bit. It was just an ice cold drippy mess. Her veggie wrap was OK but also almost cold when served. We both had fries which came undercooked and they too after a bite or two went from tepid warm to cold. I am a frequent flyer of Maggie McFly's, and normally have nothing but nice things to say about this place, the food and service. However, today we waited over 30 minutes to get our first round of drinks, had to ask another server to check on them for us, and then waited another 45 minutes for 3 entrees. This was all happening at 2-3 pm on a Monday afternoon. There was not even a manager walking around consistently for me to question where our server is, and where our food is. All in all, I'm leaving Maggie's on a bad note with 2 people who haven't been here before. Unfortunate. read more

Because of this, I had a feeling that my order wouldn't be ready or placed by the time I arrived at the restaurant. Sure enough, when I arrived, my order was no where to be found. I'd been interested in visiting Maggie McFly's for a while - greet the new restaurant in town - but tonight was my first actual visit. We arrived at about 6:30, found an actual parking space in the lot, and were quickly guided to a table. There were some other people waiting, but I think they were in larger parties that needed something bigger than a booth. Maggie McFly's has a very open interior, with lots of small light fixtures suspended everywhere. The color scheme is mostly dark wood with orange seat cushions, which rather surprised me. I haven't seen that color used much since the 70s, and I'd rather assumed (from the name, I suppose) that the dominant hues would be green. Expectations aside, it all has a comfortable and oddly contemporary feel. The menu is enormous. It comes with think front and back covers, which emphasize rather than obscuring the large number of pages between. They list a large number of wines, beers, and cocktails, but I did have to ask what was on draft, and quickly ordered a Back East Ale as soon as our waitress named it. Being somewhat hungry, we ordered an appetizer sampler, comprised of chicken wings, tex-mex egg rolls, and a spinach/artichoke dip. They were all competently done, and served on a vertical rack rising from the table. The dip was accompanied by a couple of different breads as well as sliced broccoli, carrot, and red pepper - and quite a lot of all of them. We both ordered the same special, which was a beef filet with a blackberry sauce. That's a bold and potentially risky combination, but this really did shine. The sauce used the tartness of the blackberry to compliment the steak, while at the same time the fresh blackberries that adorned the plate were the sweetest I've ever had of that often-sour fruit. It's an impressive dish. The primary reason I'd never visited Maggie's before is that it had always seemed really crowded - more than once I've driven around the parking lot and then headed out again. And it was certainly full tonight, and loud. Even when the dinner rush was waning, and the booths were starting to empty, the noise level stayed high. The clientele seemed to be mostly families. I saw plenty of young children, and more than a few seemed to have grandparents with them as well. With well-executed food, good staff, and flashes of brilliance, this is a place I'll make an effort to return to. read more

Wow, where to begin.... I had plans to meet with a friend for lunch today and this morning she suggested that we go to Maggie McFly's. I had seen it before when driving by but I honestly can't say I had heard anything about it or even knew what it was. Apparently it's ~10+ restaurants all crammed into one. When I first walked in I looked over to the bar and saw a ton of TVs and thought to myself "sports bar". Then I saw the wine rack and realized that didn't make any sense for a sports bar. Then I looked around and noticed that it had the look of a traditional American Pub. Anyway, we asked to sit outside and were quickly brought the menus which honestly should have been brought over via crane. These things put my college textbooks to shame. I started to flip through it but quickly got overwhelmed and switched to the one page lunch menu that was delivered separately from the main menu; I guess they ran out of space. I was debating between the pot roast and the shepherds pie but was eventually talked into the pie by the waiter. Overall, I was impressed with the food. It was a little different from the traditional shepherds pie I'd come accustomed to, but I loved the gravy and that's pretty much my only criteria for a solid shepherds pie. Overall, I was happy with the food, the atmosphere, and the service was quick and friendly. I'd be happy to return to see what else they have to offer on the massive menu of theirs. read more

The owner really needs to come here and just clean house and start again. The management is absolutely horrendous. Literally watched managers drink on the job, play on their phones, ignore their employees, looked to be extremely annoyed anytime something productive had to be done. Didn't see them do any work what so ever while we were there. I myself have worked in many restaurants in the past and never have I seen an establishment with management this bad. Finally got the chance to try Maggie McFly's out! I'm absolutely a fan. A Saturday evening date with a pretty girl resulted in the decision to dine here. We did not have reservations, having only to wait a few brief moments before being led to our table. I was concerned with the construction of the booths, wondering if we'd have difficulty hearing each other's contribution to the conversation. I was happily proven wrong. Despite the business of the joint, and the child across the way who was intermittently upset, we had no trouble hearing each other (a plus for me). Appetizers were brought efficiently, hot and well presented. And the dinners were wonderful! My date had a beautiful chicken dish while I opted for the prime rib. The restaurant was apparently out of the queen cut, and I was given a larger piece for the same money. While the food was hot and flavorful, I was disappointed in the presentation. To my amateur eyes, it looked like aesthetics were secondary. All food at Maggie's is locally sourced (even the ice cream we had for desert...Praliene's). And it's flavorful! The garlic mashed potatoes I had with my dinner were out of sight! Combine that was a classic decor and the combination was a winner for the evening. I knocked one star off for the condition of the restroom. For some odd reason, I think they decided to just put extra rolls of toilet paper out in a seemingly haphazard fashion. I could be wrong...but I felt it detracted from the rest of the establishment. Absolutely on my list of "let's go there again" restaurants. Maggie McFly's is a big place with a little parking lot. THATS the first thing to know! They offer valet parking on the weekends. This place reminds me of a nicer TGI Fridays. The menu is about 16 pages long, but there are few goodies tucked in here and there. Especially on the dessert page. Bar is a good size, but this place has the possibility of getting loud and obnoxious. There seems to be a steady stream of too-old frat boys who like to party and drink and be very boisterous. Which is fine for some, others hate to be around that sort of scene. The bartenders are always very nice, sometimes forgetful, but nice. The food usually hits the spot for me, as I am there at the end of kitchen hours and just trying to get some quick food after a long work shift. I stick to the appetizers, and the nachos have seem to been the best so far. Artichoke and Spinach dip seemed to have more cheese in it than any of the other ingredients, and was a bit disappointing. Like I mentioned earlier, take a piece of carrot cake home with you, and it might make the experience a little better. read more

So nice I've been there twice! I work near Maggie McFly's and one day several co-workers kept commenting on how good the food was here. I'm a bit of a seafood girl (well more shrimp than anything) and people were telling me this is the place to get some good seafood. The menu has a lot of selection but not too overwhelming (looking at you Cheesecake Factory). The first time I went I had BANG BANG Shrimp and Chicken. Not too spicy but not too bland either. Our waiter was quite friendly and very attentive which I appreciated as they seemed fairly busy. The atmosphere was pretty casual. We sat at the larger booths near the bar but there was also a separate eating area that seemed more quite (if you're looking for that type of feel). My second trip was with a friend of mine during the holiday season. The place was packed but we got our table a lot sooner than they estimated which was great. I ended up having the same waiter as my first trip and he was still just as great and attentive. I believe this time around I went with the Chicken Piccata and was not disappointed. They forgot to remove the mushrooms but no biggie I have years of experience pushing stuff I don't like off to the side of my plate. Overall I'm excited about working so close to Maggie McFly's! I'm already a fan of the dinner menu so looking forward to taste testing lunch as well! read more

My first visit last week was for a meeting of my team members on a Monday night at 6:30 PM. Not typically a busy restaurant night in town and unfortunately the service wasn't the best during our meeting with shorted cocktails, appetizers that were missing things we'd ordered and two orders of the same dish coming out at different times. We were told there was a "large party" inside apparently and that's why patio service was short. We were a party of six so I was confused as to why we weren't considered a large party either but that's neither here nor there. I had been to Maggie's before and the menu can be a tad overwhelming with about 10 pages of cocktails/drinks followed by about 10 pages of food. If you're not a drinker skip right past the beginning of the menu or you could wind up lost and frustrated among the cocktails. The fried mozzarella was fresh and hot when it arrived on the table and in the end everyone's beliies were full and we seemed satiated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My second visit of the week was on Saturday night for a late dinner. I met some friends and had dinner on the patio yet again (it was too nice of a night). Our waitress was attentive and friendly and brought me out a glass of wine while I waited for my friends. She came to check on our table within minutes of everyone arriving and we ordered an appetizer which came out promptly. A few minutes of perusing the menu as my friends hadn't been there before resulted in our orders being placed and the food coming out at a standard rate of about 20 minutes. We had time to finish the appetizer and chit chat which was nice. Everything was done properly including a special order item we had because of allergies so my mood towards Maggie's has changed. I came here on a Saturday night for dessert/cocktails around 8:30pm with a group of 6 and the place was completely packed-- we were given an estimated 30 minute wait and were seated in about 15-20 minutes. From the outside, this place looks like your standard restaurant/bar but inside, it's far more upscale/trendier than I had expected. They had a guy playing acoustic guitar singing some classics and current songs-- he was pretty good and the group and I really enjoyed him! We were seated in the bar area and our waitress was very friendly! She highly recommended that we try the warm chocolate lava cake with their featured icecream flavor--peppermint. My fiance and I split that after her recommendation, another couple got the same but with chocolate icecream and the other couple split the caramel apple xango. The bar area itself is huge and they have a few TVs--perfect for watching games. There is also an outdoor patio which has doors leading from the main bar area with a large, long fire pit out front that was basically a cigarette smokers' dream as there were tons of people crowded around it, standing around smoking. The chocolate lava cake was standard-- possibly bought frozen and then heated? but it satisfied my chocolate craving and the icecream was awesome (handcrafted from holy cow in Newtown). The peppermint was really delicious-- very creamy and not too overpoweringly minty, just perfect and it really did pair well with the molten cake. The major negative was that both the molten cakes came out a good 10 minutes before the caramel apple xango-- we felt bad eating our desserts in front of them, but the icecream was melting and left us with no other choice. When we asked the waitress, she offered no apologies but said that the xango took longer because "it had to go into the deep fryer." I would have thought the restaurant could have prepared for this and started the xango first and heated up our molten cakes when it was almost ready. The place itself definitely had more of a bar vibe/was really loud-- a good place to get drinks and hang out with friends. 3 stars for the ambiance/live music. 2 stars for the dessert. read more

I'm always skeptical of places with massive menus.. How can they get anything right when they have a million things on there? This place does a pretty good job- at least as far as I can tell. I don't usually get pasta when I'm out but their many said that everything is handmade and local so I gave it a shot. I got the cheese tortellini with broccoli and it was really delicious.. My date got the fajitas which looked great as well. And those breadsticks! I'm a big fan. Our server was so friendly and personable and we really enjoyed our dinner. We went to Glastonbury one. It was our first time there and the food was gross. Nothing we had made me think "boy, I'd love to come back"..I mean the shepherds pie was shredded carrots, floating mushrooms, tons of watery broth, and a little bit of floating mashed potatoes. My ribs were so dry. Our food came out not even 10 minutes after we ordered which led us to believe that food was already sitting there. We ordered the sweet potato skins also. We literally counted 10 bacon crumbs in total on these 4 potato skins. The waitress was very attentive but appeared annoyed when we complained about the food. Took a while for us to order, but the food was very good- I had butternut squash soup and a small salad, friend had Chinese chicken salad and we shared the soft baked pretzels. Tasty! I'm a fan of Maggie McFlys but I'm still waiting to try something that "wows" me. I would rate this place as having mediocre food, but very good drinks. Which would average out to a 3.5 in my book. I love the atmosphere inside. Exposed pipes and glass light finishes, white ceramic brick - a soft industrial feel. The breadsticks served to each table are tasty. A dinnermate of mine commented that they were better than Olive Gardens breadsticks (say what you want about OG but the breadsticks are bangin). I ordered a cucumber martini and it was perfect. Garnished with fresh cucumber & mint, strong but not overpowering & a slightly sweet taste - I ordered 3 of them. Here's where the appetizers and entrees come in. We ordered wings, and although I didn't taste them, they looked completely unappetizing. They appeared dry and rubbery, and my friend confirmed that yes, that's indeed exactly how they tasted. Entrees were just underwhelming. I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad, categorized as a "giant salad" - and the chefs must have missed the memo on it being "giant". It was average sized. It was tasty. Loved the sweet peanut dressing with a spicy bite of an asian pepper (can't remember the name), but I wasn't blown away. I really like it here in the summer. They open up the patio and have a fire pit-like contraption. I'll continue to come here for their craft drinks and select appetizers. I'll start by saying the food was great. The service however was very poor and ruined the experience. It took about 15 or 20 minutes after we got our water to be able to place so much as a coffee order. We watched our server visit the tables around us without even checking in with us and our attempts to get his attention were unsuccessful. His tables that were sat after us were able to place orders before us. We felt we were ignored and that weighed on the entire meal. Went here a couple of times on a recent trip to CT. It's kind of an American style bar and grill. Has some good outside seating. One time, I ate inside and the other time I ate out. In both visits--one with a group of three, and one with a large group, the servers were friendly, attentive and patient with questions about the menu. And, the food came out pretty quickly, so that was nice. It was a bit loud in here both times--between the tvs, the people talking, and the street noise (the patio is right off of a major road). On on trip, we had kids' mac and cheese and some "dirt" kid dessert, nachos (just hum on the nachos) and tacos (thumbs up on the tacos). I also had a burger here with fries, pretty good, not greasy. One of the pizzas (I forget which one) got a thumbs up from our group. The group was able to find something that worked for a range of diets/tastes because of the extensive menu there. Nothing too daring on the menu, it's simple American fare, but the sheer number of options here (versus other national "American food" chains") gets a higher ranking in my book. read more

This review is based off of their Sunday brunch. Two words: Don't bother. I seldom write negative reviews, but this was appalling. Service I would give 5 stars. Our waitress was pleasant and accommodating. Food was not so pleasant. My parents and I were looking for a place in town that serves brunch, and aside from the usual Kens or coffee shop there aren't a whole lot of options. Maggie McFlys looked like they had a good selection, so why not? Veggie omelette: the omelette itself was fine, fresh vegetables. Toast wasn't good, burnt and tough and not buttered (also no jam or jelly)? C'mon how do you fail at toast? Side of ham: two thin slices of ham. Why is the ham greasy? You don't need to fry ham. My moms burrito: she seemed pleased. But it must have been sitting out for a few too many minutes before reaching our table because the cheese on top started to get tough looking. My fathers French toast: came out cold. Our waitress took it back, but the restaurant didn't take any further steps to make amends. The manager never came over to apologize. He can't have been too busy because there were hardly any patrons there. Incredibly unprofessional of him/her. Of course, despite serving inadequate food it wasn't even comped. Do customers have to make a scene in order to receive an apology? Or does management just not care? I'm saying yes to both. My suggestion? Just don't go here for Sunday brunch. read more

Had a great time with my friends. I sat outside which was very nice with comfortable chairs and a fire pit. I have also been in the bar area. We came for happy hour. Drinks were $1 off and they had small plates for sharing for $3,99. The menu is immense and a little overwhelming but everything I have had has been good. The service had usually been good but they do not seem to like you to linger. We were sitting at a bar table, had appetizers and were drinking. However it seemed since we were not ordering more food they server seemed anxious to provide us out bill. read more

Really, really glad we stopped off here. Our server Jay was excellent, food was really nice, and the drinks were good too. My fiance pulled a "can you make the next drink stronger?" line (which makes me cringe!), and they made the drink stronger without charging us double. Much appreciated. We even ordered delivery later that night we were so impressed. read more

I've been visiting the Maggie McFly's in Glastonbury for a few years, but my most recent visit with the incredible service is what warrants this review. My last two visits to Maggie McFly's I had the honor of having Sharon as my waitress. Her personality was beyond amazing and her knowledge of the menu and ability to make recommendations was outstanding. The drinks and food all came out amazing, and Sharon even remembered things about my order from my previous visit which was a couple weeks before. Not enough can be said about Sharon's incredible service, she is truly an asset to the establishment and the reason I will be coming back in the future! read more
