I would've preferred a different table, but I was already moved one time so at least we had a decent view. Our main meals came out first and when we asked if our appetizer was coming soon, she goes oh we are putting it in right now..... I didnt know appetizers came out after your entre. We tried the Magic Terrace at 1:00 PM on a Saturday in 2/2024. We didn't have a reservation, but joining the waitlist at exactly 1:00 PM netted us a rezzie for 3 within 10 minutes of it opening. Our infant was sleeping, so they let us bring our stroller up via the elevator and seated us on the terrace which has more floor space, allowing us to eat with our sleeping infant next to us. We ordered Mint Juleps, the Short Rib, and a churro sandwich. Mint julep - 4/5. They were tasty and strong. Pretty satisfying for a Saturday afternoon while we waited for our food. Nothing amazing, but satisfying nonetheless. Short Rib - 5/5. EXCELLENT. So tender you could cut it with a fork, the taste was complex and everything matched each other well, from the carrot-ginger puree to the thinly sliced fatty bacon sprinkled over the edamame. It looks small for the price, but it's quite heavy, and very satisfying. Churro Sammich - 2/5. Normally I'd give a 3/5, but we are at Disneyland and there are *much* better churros just a few steps from the restaurant. I'm unsure why anyone would get this, unless they *really* like super crunchy churros and cream. It took over 40 minutes just to prepare a kids' cheese pizza, and when it finally arrived it was missing both the fries and the drink that were supposed to come with it. On top of that, we ordered two house salads that came stripped of nearly all the listed components, leaving us with what was basically just a plain Caesar salad. definitely not what we ordered! The service was even worse. Instead of being apologetic, the staff stood around, watching and judging as we tried to make the best of our meal. (I couldn't catch her name but a young woman with short red-ish hair was particularly giving much unnecessary attitude). It felt rude and unprofessional. The whole experience left us feeling like we were being punished simply because I asked for a different table. We had kids with us and didn't want to sit at a high table right on the edge of the building with the sun on us, a perfectly reasonable request. Instead, it seemed like the servers were offended by it and decided to take it out on us. We were ripped off, treated poorly, and left hungry. For a place that charges a premium, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I was so excited to dine at this Magic Key Holder only spot at DCA and saw so many good things about it! I made a reservation online the morning of and was able to score a table for two on a Friday. When we arrived, we checked in and they let us know they were running behind about 20 minutes, which was okay with me. The cast member who checked us in was so delightful and kind. Our table was ready 15 minutes after our arrival and we went up the stairs to our table. The terrace view was lovely and vibe was there. For such an "exclusive" spot, I was so let down by the service once we were seated. Not sure if our server or the team that day were in training, but service was so slow and the place was not packed. We waited 20 minutes for our server to take our order and later had to flag down a bus boy to a server because they were no where to be found for drink no. 2. We ended up ordering drinks and asking for the check. She came back with the drinks and the check and I gave her my card immediately. They took quite a long time and The food alone was good, but I've just had better. I was bummed the lobster corn dog was no longer available. The mac & cheese needed more seasoning but the bone marrow was yummy. The monte cristo corn dogs were pretty yummy, even though I wanted the lobster corn dog (which is no longer available). Hard liquor drinks are pretty much bottom shelf (look at the menu), but the price definitely does not reflect that. Best food and drink? The monte cristo corn dog and the shipwreck cocktail. As one of my last days with the Magic Key, I decided to make a lunch reservation for the Terrace. I've heard good things about the food, and even better things about the drinks. It's located in Disneyland California Adventure near Wine Country Trattoria. Before going up a flight of stairs, a host will check your reservation and annual pass. At the top, a second set of hosts will lead you to your table. Monte Cristo Corn Dog: A little disappointing because I was expecting a corn dog like the ones from Little Red Wagon or Corndog Castle. Instead we got two mini corn dogs with soggy breading and ham and cheese inside. I get that they were trying to mimic the Monte Cristo sandwich but the breading could've been way crispier. The waffle fries were good though! Bone Marrow Truffle Mac & Cheese: The truffle flavor is just perfect and mixing the bone marrow gives every bite an extra richness. This was my favorite dish and it's something I would get again. Quesabirria Flatbread: Comes with 4 pieces and a little bit of consome to dip the flatbread. It would've been better if they were just tacos instead of trying something new by putting it on a flatbread. Pretty messy, especially if you're dipping the soup with every bite. We also ordered the following cocktails: Shipwreck and Drop In If You Dare. Both were reasonably strong and pretty delicious. Drop In If You Dare resembles a martini and it tastes like there's only gin in there. Shipwreck is more of a tropical drink, featuring coconut milk and rum. Even with the Magic Key discount, the total bill ended up being over $100. Date of visit: October 29, 2022 Kathy and I hadn't been to the Magic Key Terrace since its recent remodel, so we were excited to check it out (especially as we had some time to kill before the Oogie Boogie Bash started later that night). The big draw about the Magic Key Terrace is its exclusivity; only Magic Key/annual passholders can access it - and good luck trying to get in without an advance reservation, as those walk-up slots fill up quickly! As it was lunch time, Kat went with the Bone Marrow Truffle Mac & Cheese ($23 pre-Magic Key Discount), and I had the Monte Cristo Corn Dog ($20). My lady had the better meal; the truffle cheese sauce smelled and tasted amazing with the pasta. While I was kinda bummed that the Lobster Corn Dog was replaced by the Monte Cristo Corn Dog, the latter was satisfying, what with the cubed ham and Swiss cheese skewered, battered, and deep fried. It wouldn't be a complete visit without trying some of the exclusive potables on deck, so I treated myself to the 5...4...3... 2... 1 ($17). The combination of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Bois Blue Curacao, coconut-pineapple cream, and pineapple juice was visually appealing, and it went down great. As Kat's not a drinker, she had the Heimlich Chew Chew Juice ($7) - if you have your younglings with you (or non-alcoholics), this combo of lemonade with Granny Smith apple syrup and a watermelon slice would be up your alley. The remodel of the place makes it more airy and welcoming than the AP Lounge used to be. The views are still astounding, and keep an eye out for the artwork that pays homage to two of the resident cats, Snickers (aka Francisco) and Nutmeg. (While we've seen Snickers plenty of times, we've yet to see Nutmeg.) Our servers were a bit busy, but they were attentive and professional enough. Probably one of our favorite places to eat in the park now. Besides the coolness of an exclusive place to eat as a key holder, you have a nice view of the main walkway while you eat, and it's just a really pleasant atmosphere. I do wish that they were able to seat a little closer to the reservation time. Both times that we've been there we have had to check in and wait about a half hour past our reservation time, so be prepared. That being said, the bone marrow truffle Mac and cheese is amazing. We've had that both times that we visited so far and it was consistently great. The birria flatbread was really good and so is the charcuterie board. We received a text stating to check in about 15 minutes before our scheduled reservation time of 6:45pm. After waiting til 6:55pm we went back in line to ask for a status update. They said they were running 45 minutes behind and we could walk around and they will text us to come back or if we cancel they will not charge the credit card. We decided to walk around. The menu was mainly drinks with one back page designated for food. Food is severely overpriced! The highlight were the waffle fries as they had cheese and a nice seasoning to the crunch. Each slider was dry and the bread was very hard. The corn dog was literally three cubed size ham. Food was terrible, which I know theme park food isn't the best but this was exceptionally not great. Probably just stick to drinks. Magic Key Terrace offers a nice escape from the crowds and provides a great view of the surroundings. While we didn't have reservations for the other restaurants (it seems you need to book 6 months in advance!), we were able to get in here day-of thanks to my sister's Magic Key pass. I had visited years ago when it was open to everyone, so the experience wasn't particularly new or special, other than the fact that it was nice and quiet. The food was okay (the gluten-free pasta was gummy), and the drinks were tasty. However, I have a couple of major complaints. I requested no chorizo on my pasta, and the waitress assured me this was possible. Unfortunately, my pasta arrived with A LOT of chorizo. She didn't apologize or offer a replacement, so I simply picked it off as I was hungry. As a pescatarian, I was disappointed to find meat in my meal. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, my pasta was charged at $65 instead of $35. I questioned the waitress, and she mentioned something about a new key for gluten-free pasta requests and that she had accidentally pushed the wrong one. I'm not buying that for a second. I think she just wanted the extra tip on that $30, or to up her sales quota for the day. Overall, not super impressed, but maybe it was just a series of bad coincidences. Came to the Magic Key Terrace for lunch after making reservations earlier in the week. After having reservation confirmations, you can check in via the app when you get there; you don't need to let the host know. Once checked in you receive a text message and when it's your time, you head on over. Our reservations were set for 11 am when they opened, and yet they weren't ready yet at 11 am. We ended up getting seated around 11:15-11:20. It's an open-air seating area and it really is a crapshoot as to which type of table you get: high-top tables, regular tables, or short (lower than regular) tables. The menu is fairly limited, the thing they really have going for them is the drinks. This is a great place to just much, drink, and either people watch below or just relax and have a conversation with friends. Foodwise, it's above average, but not for something I would expect to be exclusive to Magic Key holders. For a place that only Magic Key Holders can visit, I would say it is really tough to get into. We randomly saw an open reservation for 3pm on a Thursday, and decided why not, as we would probably never get the opportunity to visit again. Here is what we ordered: Chicken Teriyaki Bowl ($25): I liked this dish particularly for the asparagus and the coconut fried rice. I have never had rice prepared this way before and found it really unique. For it being a teriyaki chicken bowl, there was almost no teriyaki sauce on the chicken, which made the dish just dry. Quesabirria Flatbread ($18): The birria paired well with the consomé, but the crust itself was pretty tough. As a flatbread, I expected it to be more of a bread texture, but this was pretty crispy and hard to even break apart. Millionaire's Manhattan ($18): Strong drink with notes of cinnamon which made the drink enjoyable. Avalon Cooler ($18): This was a very sweet drink. The flavor was great, but it tasted more like a juice/lemonade. I enjoyed the view of the terrace, but the tables were very high and difficult to get up on. All the food was discounted with the Magic Key Holder passes, but I still would not return for it. I think there could be a wider selection of more carefully crafted drinks. Most of these drinks are comparable to the drinks you can find throughout the park. Some of the drinks for the Lunar New Year Sip and Savor looked more aesthetic than these. Side note, there were probably 10 cast members standing around the bar area the entire time we eating just chatting away while other tables and ourselves were waiting for checks and other requests. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it's an overpriced place that tries to take advantage of magic key holders under the guise of "exclusivity." The bone marrow truffle Mac and cheese was tasty, but had the smallest piece of bone marrow. I don't know how anyone would share that with someone. One scoop, and the bone marrow is gone! It was really disappointing. $23 worth of mac and cheese and bone marrow it is not! Each item was horrendously overpriced! Two little sliders for $24!!!!! They were tasty, but not $12 bucks a slider tasty! Two bites and you're done with one slider. For $24, I could have gotten two full size hamburgers and fries elsewhere. The lattes we ordered were extremely bitter and we couldn't have more than one sip. It was disappointing that they didn't take that off the bill for us. Granted, we didn't complain, but the server did ask us if we didn't like it because he saw the cups were still full. Great view, I am told that their menu changes with the different chefs that come in. Which is kinda cool, their menu is small but delicious and something for everyone. We ordered the Bountiful Valley Charcuterie which was a small but nice display of cheeses and deli meat. We also ordered the flatbread pizza there again it was small but very flavorful with marinated chicken and smoked mozzarella on it. They offer three plant bases item one being the tomato basil soup which I ordered and it was very nice. My grandson ordered the Disney check Meal which was slider and fries he loved it. Though it was a scorching hot day, our time at the Magic Key Terrace was relaxing and kept us cool by being in the shade. Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. My experience overall was positive and definitely worth a revisit for a break from the parks. As noted, we ordered a few food items and some cocktails. I personally ordered the "5...4...3...2...1..." to drink and Lobster Corn Dog to eat. The drink was tasty. A good balance of flavors among the sweetness and alcohol. A well-crafted cocktail for sure. The Lobster Corn Dog was also good. I was pleased they gave us two pieces, especially for the price. It was basically a lobster tail coated on the outside like a corn dog. I really enjoyed the remoulade they included with the dish. It complemented the corn dogs perfectly and elevated the flavors overall. The Magic Key Terrace would definitely be a revisit for us. It isn't a place I would recommend for a full on meal, but it is a perfect stop for a drinks and appetizers feel. I believe they change the menu seasonally, so we will be back in the future to try their other offerings throughout the year. (A few notes. Our group does not have a Magic Key annual pass. DCA allows anyone to reserve a spot until January 1st. The selection of entree's is a is laughable. TINY is the word I'm looking for. Unique selections of tiny appetizers at inflated prices would be a great motto for this place. I tried the quesabirra flatbread, it was very good. It was also only about 6"x4" of food with a sauce for $18. It is an overpriced open air cocktail lounge and not much more. If this is the kind of exclusivity one gets with a Magic Key, I'll stick to my regular park entry every time. With that said, it's still a private lounge-like area that only us Magic Key holders can access. Had the lobster corn dog, which was actually filled with a good chunk of lobster. I have no complaints about it at all. But like I said, don't expect a huge dinner unless you order a lot of items on the menu. The food is good, but the portions are not huge and the prices aren't cheap either. Service is fine, nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. I put my order in and they brought the food out pretty quickly. I think if you want something unique for food, Magic Key Terrace is the place to go. The server was nice, but not really any recommendations for someone who's been there a first time, and you could tell she's got a lot on her plate. So we tried the new menu here today (hadn't been here since about a year ago), Strike One: Had to wait 15 minutes after on-time reservation check-in and they weren't busy. Strike 2: Every seat at our 4 top table had significant food stains and, in 2 cases, had actual dried food crusted on them. Strike 3: Ordered a glass of Nebiolo Wine and a Club Soda with Lime for my wife. Wine was quite good (so they got a 2nd star from me for that) but no Limes for her soda came for my wife. Strike 4: Appetizers were both delivered at exact same time as both entrees. I absolutely hate how they ruin my entree and let it get nasty and cold while I have my appetizer. Strike 5: Fonduta appetizer came with very stale bread, old hard Chozio that was too inedible and some potato's that were ok. Calling all Magic Key holder! Reservations needed to enjoy this perk. The Magic Key Terrace is for the key holders to enjoy some food and drinks in the DCA park away from the crowd and the hot hot heat. But before entering this lounge terrace, an annual pass holder must make the reservation and show their pass when arrived. The food selection is minimal and there are non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic drinks. We got the Mac n cheese and the Lobster Corndog. Both taste great and portion is not big. The Heimlich watermelons drink was refreshing (especially for the incoming summer season) Would recommend checking this place out. Plan ahead and make reservations a month plus beforehand. read more

Great place to stop by for some relaxation and drinks. The real jewel here is the churro. In my opinion, it's the best churro in the entire resort (and I've tried almost every one save for special events). Next time going to try the blue drink (forget the name) they have as Drop In was a little underwhelming. Blue drinks are always good at Disney parks I've learned. Bone marrow Mac n cheese was good but I'd probably just come here again for the drinks and churros. read more

They really need to change their food menu. We thought it was weird when we walked up and they would be able to seat us in 10min then even weirder when they asked us to look at the menu to make sure we want to dine in. We were hungry and it had food on the menu so we said ok. It's a great spot to rest for a bit on a busy Disney day. Apparently we didn't do our research because nothing we ordered was good. Everything was way too salty and just not good. We didn't bother with dessert after we overheard the next table complaining about the churros. Big fan. Love the ambiance up there. We got a nice seat by the open air window. The food was good (seafood pasta) and they had a decent wine selection. Little bit pricey but nothing you can't expect at Disney. I'll be going back. read more

Nice atmosphere, very comfortable and pretty. We had a big table towards a beautiful mural, and our waiter was friendly and attentive so I feel like we scored. We originally booked a table here because we thought it would be a nice change of pace from the places we normally go when we spending time at the parks. What we didn't realize though, was that this place is mainly for cocktail lovers because most of the items on their menu contained booze. The items they have to eat are limited to 5-6 items, 2 of which are flatbreads. For gluten free people there are two dishes: a charcuterie board and a 3 little pigs slider thing. It sounds creative but the execution wasn't as impressive. Basically it consists of 3 different types of pork: one with lettuce, which was delicious-- a wet one, which was very salty, and a burnt one that tasted like someone got a little too excited with the sauce and just started adding everything they had in the kitchen. Gross & super dry. Kids thought the bone marrow was delicious, but didn't really dig the macaroni. Hubby's impossible flatbread, according to him, was really good. They also had a choochoo drink thingy (can't remember the name, it was a non-alcoholic watermelon drink that tasted like a sour watermelon gummy. Our table ordered several of those and some soft drinks. Our server was good at keeping our table refreshed-- impressive since he was extremely busy. Three stars because of the lack of food choices and the general quality of the food. If I had to rate based off of the food & beverages by itself though, it would be two stars & service would be five. read more

This place was heaven. Thanks to my sister the key holder we were able to snag a reservation and had a wonderful table top overlooking the park. It was perfect. We ordered the sliders and the birria flat bread. Both were yummy. The sliders tho...those were a hit! Packed with so much flavor. We enjoyed our drinks too! read more

Perfect place to sit, relax, and enjoy some appetizers and drinks. I really enjoyed this place, it was my first time getting reservations for Magic Key Terrace and it felt like a nice secluded space from the rest of the busy park. Plus the Cast Members were so nice and attentive! The lobster corndog was DELICIOUS! I'm not even a bit corndog fan, but this was something else! As I ate the corndog, I was wondering why they don't offer this item in other places in the park? The 3 Little Sliders were also a perfect appetizer to tie my friend and I over. I wasn't a huge fan of the Potato Garlic Flatbread, but my friend did enjoy it. I felt like it was too starchy, but to each their own. Their drinks were good and I might be mistaken but they might be unique to the Terrace. TIP: My favorite was the lobster corndog (if it's available, you must try it!) read more

Came here to take a well needed break from the hustle and madness from the San Fransokyo and boy am I glad we're manic key holders. In San Fransokyo we spent about 10min in the hot sun looking for any type of seating, to the point I told the family lets trying the key terrace. Best decision of the day. Seating was quick, shaded, and food was delicious!! I got the chicken and mash potatoes 10/10 kids got burger and fruit (burger was super small 4/10) and we shared a charcuterie board 10/10. An amazing experience, lovely ambience on the terrace, gourmet selections on the menu, amazing service by the staff. I have enjoyed each unique dish and drink that we ordered. They have a good selection of vegetarian and meat protein items and delicious desserts that are hard to pass up. Definitely an experience to remember. read more

I came here to try the food as a new magic key holder. I tried the only vegan dish available (Impossible Sicilian Meatball Flatbread). My sister got the sliders (non vegan) and my nephew got a kids cheese pizza, which came with fruit, but was also non vegan. My sister and I also got the 5...4...3...2...1 cocktail drink. My sister said her food was very good and I have to say the same for mine, including the drinks! The service was good too inside the restaurant, but the guy taking the reservation on the first floor left something to be desired- doesn't he get paid to be happy, friendly, and welcoming? Maybe he was having an off day or Idk because he was very blah, whereas Disney employees are usually the opposite of that. This and the fact that the restaurant only has 1 vegan item are the reasons I knocked off a star- please have more vegan option! Thanks! read more
