I walked in on a Sunday told them I needed my dressed pressed the same day a guy who spoke minimal English told me it'd be done by 4-5 pm I call because no one reached out I assume the rude owner answers the phone has an attitude and says they closed at 3 I said how so if the guy told me my dress would be ready by 4-5 pm he literally said he doesn't know what to tell me ?! No complaints during that time and my laundry is always ready on time, folded neatly and smelling good! Have done a couple dry clean/laundered shirts and no issues there either. Let me start off by saying that the service is really excellent. It was what I first noticed and is my favorite thing about this business. I brought in delicate material pillow cases and a pair of dirty white shoes. It took about 4 days to be ready for pick up which I think is reasonable. When I returned to pick up my things, my items were neatly folded and presented in a bag. The pillow cases were clean and scentless and the shoes were white again! I've been a customer at Magical Cleaners for over 4 years. I never had a complaint of the service I've received until just recently. I brought my wife's shirt in to be laundered. The shirt had painted dots on it. I have brought this shirt to Magical Cleaners in the past and never had an issue. This time, however; the shirt was ruined. Instead of just washing the shirt, they proceeded to wipe the paint off the shirt thus damaging the fabric. They wanted to see if they could fix it, but that didn't work. I had contacted the owner and left a message, but I never received a return call. I showed up on another day and was told to come in on a Monday from 530pm-800pm, the owners working hours. I showed up on a Monday during those hours and was told the owner wasn't there and I should call. Needless to say, this became tiring. Today I walked in and the owner was there. I told him I had left a message for him, and he claims he never received a message. The owner told me his employee was under the impression the paint needed to be removed. I told him this wasn't so and I had brought the same shirt to Magical Cleaners before with no issues. He then proceeded to tell me his employee had been working there for 5 years and this was my fault that I didn't specify the paint was a design. You didn't receive my voicemail message; I didn't specify the paint was a design; you're employee has been working there for 5 years and somehow he doesn't make mistakes.... As a manager, at what do you admit fault and try to make the customer whole. I just wanted to be compensated for my loss. The owner then wanted to give me a $25 credit for dry cleaning services at Magical Cleaners. How does that make me whole. I have a shirt that is ruined. A $25 credit at your business does not make me whole. Why would I come back to your business after having to jump through hoops to address the problem. Why would I trust you with any of my clothes in the future? Fair to say, there's a $25 credit remaining at Magical Cleaners that I will never use. read more

I am giving this place one star because there has been two incidents that happened in which during the first I was a bit more forgiving than I am on the 2nd. first of all let me say that the people that actually work here or amazing I have wonderful customer service the issue I have is with the person who was actually running the business. And I don't know if he's the owner or manager but on two occasions they have failed to deliver my items on time when I was told it would be there during the date and time and wish I was supposed to pick it up. the first time I was a bit more forgiving because you stuck in traffic or something like that and I am a reasonable person and I am aware that things happen beyond our control. the second time around however I was supposed to get a pair of pants altered and was supposed to get them on a Monday. It is now Tuesday and not only did they not have it ready but the owner did not know if it was actually done. I needed these pair of pants for a work function and I'm traveling with them this evening. This business now has cost me time which I don't have and money. When I spoke to the manager to see what they were going to do to rectify this and mentioned to him that I was no longer going to use their services his response to me was "I'm not going to rush then". News flash sir, your customer service sucks you don't tell a customer who needs their item and didn't get it on time because you made an error that you are not going to rush to get them the pants because they have expressed to you out loud that they're going to take their customer service somewhere else moving forward. I am in the customer service industry, and this by far is the worst response I have ever heard. I have been to several dry cleaners and there are plenty in Los Angeles and I come to this one because it's a. It's convenient and it's nearby where I live and b. because they are reasonable. Went for the first time last week and so far, so good. They set aside 3 shirts to let me know they were damaged before washing them, which was very smart and I like it! I already knew about the damage (some wear in the elbows), and it was no big deal. Prices seem decent, however I've had lower so I don't consider it the best prices ever. I really love Magical. They are on my way to work, so its really easy to drop stuff off and they are open late, so I can pick stuff up after work. I work in Beverly Hills, so, to me - the prices are very reasonable. Once they lost a dress of mine that I loved. I was asked if they could replace it, but I got it at Loehmann's so fat chance of finding it again. I told him it cost me about $50 and Jack promptly wrote me a check. Yes, it was a bummer to lose a dress, but they were happy to compensate me and didn't ask me for a receipt. Upon leaving the dry cleaner after receiving the check I was waiting on La Cienega for a light at a complete stop in my car, when I was badly rear ended. My car ended up being totaled. As I was waiting for cops that never came - I went back into Magical Cleaners. I asked if they saw anything and they said unfortunately they see that kind of accident once a week. They were happy to give a statement to my insurance if I needed one. Everytime I go in - i'm asked how I'm doing and how my car accident case is going. I appreciate the level of friendliness and recognition I get when I return. read more

Terrible alterations service. Drop off pants for basic hem on a Tuesday, told will be ready Friday after 5. Show up Friday at 5, they said the tailor was running late should be here around 530. Come back the next morning, couldn't find my pants, now the story is the tailor couldn't find my markings to alter (I marked inside with a pen, the cleaners at drop-off saw it and marked with a pin herself.) After promising to call after they found out or got a hold of cleaner, said I can pick up after 530 that Saturday. Had plans, so went to pick up Sunday morning as Yelp and website say open Sundays 10-3...and of course they are closed! Never coming back here, I'm sure you'll find better service at any other cleaner. read more

They are the most amazing dry cleaners! When I dry clean my clothes its not just because it says so on the label. They're usually clothes that I love and cherish and try to get them keep looking like new. I have been going there for YEARS and so has my family. They know all of us by name. If my mom walks in, he knows she always asks if I have anything there to so he'll just start pulling stuff up for her before she even says hello! Jack is absolutely terrific! I recently gave him an evening gown that I only wore once and got a bunch of tire stains on it (don't even ask why lol). I quickly took it to him and he said no problem with a smile. When I came in to pick it up, some of the stains had lingered. Not because they're not capable of cleaning, but because the stains were like tire grease! He happily re-did it and also made sure that I don't need it in a hurry and asked me to come back next week. Same thing happened again and I told him, no problem I trust you- lets just get these stains out! I picked up my dress today looking brand spankin new and I couldn't be happier!! These guys live up to their name. I sometimes think they must be doing magic to get some of the stains out of the clothes I bring in there. That said, I'm most impressed by their customer service, they always make me feel like a valued customer by being so nice and asking me how my day is going and they have this personal touch in the way that they do business that makes it feel like they are a small town cleaners even though they are in a big city. I actually look forward to being in and picking up my dry cleaning there which is weird because who looks forward to dry cleaning usually! Jack the owner mentioned that i wrote this review lying about things i wrote here. he said I was telling people he was cursing at customers which I did not say. either way, he basically shot me down. Terrible service, cant even get to the counter when a customer comes to the door. I would avoid this place like the plague if you care about your clothes. the biggest problem I have with this place is that he hates this review I wrote, which was completely truthful. HE SCREWED UP, AND DOESNT THINK THAT PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW. And he did not have the decency to even say Im sorry for what happened. Anyway, there are many other dry cleaners around the area. The traffic and parking to this place makes it a no brainer to avoid. Update: Jack does not know when to quit. He actually is trying to contact me to get my post down. I understand how bad this can look but a simple apology for "happens to us all" works wonders. I guess he helped me dodge his own bullet, but if I used that line...then my patients might not survive. I have been going here for a year because it is on my way to the freeway and the service was friendly. Although their prices have creeped up (when I first went it was $2.50 a shirt, now it's $3.00, and a seat cushion now cost $6), I still continue to go there out of habit. However, when I picked up my favorite delicate blouse this week, the collar line was stretched out to unwearable, the seam that used to sit on my shoulders now sits at my elbow. When I confronted the owners about it, the older tailor who usually is not working the dry clean counter (but is always rude which is why I stopped taking my tailor work there) started denying all responsibility. His sons were more receptive to my concerns, apologized for the tailor's bad attitude and says he will rewash to shirt to see if he can "shrink" the collar. I told him the shirt is dry-clean only and has been dry cleaned before without issues. upon closer examination, the seams were all ripped. I really do not know what they did to my shirt to make it completely lose its shape. He asked me where I bought it to see if he can replace it, I told him it was bought last season and the designer no longer has it in store. With the attitude I was given today, I doubt they will be compensating me for a $200+ shirt when they charged me for the dry cleaning bill even after they ruin one of my favorite shirt! If you have nice delicate items, don't take it here...beware! read more

They messed up my comforter and then blamed me for it. They are the professionals not me. They told me that I should have pinned all the corners so that it would not have bunched up. Did they offer to pay for a new one? NO. Did they offer to pay for half of a new one, NO? Did they apologize? NO And this was after they had it for 3 weeks. Oh . .. they did get the stains out, so now I can donate a stain free comforter to Goodwill which not even a homeless person would want to use. Remember, we're all human and sometimes stuff happens-- the worker may have been ill, or whatever. I go past the place all the time and they are often open way earlier than 7AM and well past 7PM. I dont even know how to begin to explain how much of a life saver Jack was at Magical cleaners. I have a wedding this Saturday and was out of the country until Friday morning. I thought my suit was ready to go but when I fly in I didnt even realize I had some stains and was freaking out that the suit is going to be dirty and I wont have time to get it dry cleaned since the I have to leave 6 am in the morning. I went in and spoke to Jack who was super professional, very polite and understood my panic. He kept me calm and said he will remove all the stains and have it fresh and clean by the time they close. I have been going to this place for a year. The service staff is very friendly, the price is reasonable, and the quality is SUPERIOR. This place is so good I don't even live in the area,my friend does, but I tried it one time after trying others and I loved it. There is a 4 star place closer to my house in GARDENA that charges more and the service is inferior. My clothes has never been damaged or no deadline has failed to be met, except once which Jack made sure I was compensated for the inconvenience and made sure it was resolved ASAP. Definitely would recommend to a friend. Jack is the man! He always makes sure I am taken care of, I drive a little further out of my way when going to Santa Monica just to make sure I get a quality service at a reasonable price. I accidentally wash my cloth with chewing gum and after dryer gum stuck on cloth so badly. Then I found this cleaner in my neighborhood. Guy says it might come off but maybe stay a little bit but they did great job!! You can't tell there was gum sticking. Excellent job guys!! Five star!! read more

I started using them in 2009 when I moved back into this area. Jack, the guy who runs the place has been a nice hardworking young man. I typically don't write reviews, but Jack inspired this rant. This past weekend, they misplaced my suit and two shirts. I understand people make mistakes, no problem. The problem was that he told me he would deliver it later that evening at 8. 8 comes and no call. I called and text his phone. No answer. I came by on Sunday expressed my disappointment and ask that he call. No call. I came Monday morning and he wasn't there. He had his employee make the delivery and she said it had to be on her lunch break. I understand when people make mistakes, but to go back on your word is a demonstration that you have zero credibility and you lack character. Lastly, I requested to have have Jack call and her last words were, that's ok. Epic failure. Needless to say, they've lost a customer, but the apathetic attitude is one for the ages. David read more

I've used this cleaners for several months prior to the new ownership. I even had alterations when they offered the service. I liked this place because it is conveniently near both my work and home. I recently, within the past 3 months brought a comforter that I needed spot cleaned. I came back 2wks later to pick up my comforter and it has "magically," been miss placed. I believe they were still going through a transition of ownership and I was told my comforter was at the partnered cleaners. I waited another 1 wk for the comforter to be delivered back to where I dropped it off. When I come back to pick it up , the employee walks me in the back to see if I see the comforter. It's not there. He tells me he will contact the owner and we will get it back. A month goes by still no blanket and not phone call despite me leaving my number at the front desk. I then finally get a hold of someone because the phones were off for a while and they tell me they have a reimbursement policy of only 30$. My comforter isn't expensive but it's not 30$. I come to the store and demand to speak with the owner, after 5mins the employee finally calls him and he still say 30$ reimbursement. I ask where is this policy posted ? On the website on the counter? No where. He asked me do I want 30$ or nothing ? I put the phone down and walk out. At the basic level good customer service would try to meet you have way. The owner is rude, his employee is undertrained and I will not do business here again. End of the day this establishment did nothing to fix a problem they created. read more

I stumbled upon this place about 6 years ago,and have been coming back 4 times a week for their service. Their great, exceptional service. Their are probably a lot of excellent mom and pop dry cleaning places around LA, and this is definitely one of them, actually the only one for me. They ask you when you need your cloths done by and listen to your needs with lot of care and can do same day dry -cleaning if you come in the morning. All the staff speaks perfect English and have the skill for attention to detail . FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE every time, specially if you get to meet JACK, the head captain. His a character and a mad scientist when it comes to stain removal. One time I brought in a tie and asked to see if they can get a stain off it, and the lady helping me took tie back to check with the cleaners to make sure they can do it. I'd much rather have this than they take the tie and not be able to clean it, or ruin it try. Quick , friendly service at terrific prices. I found them randomly through Yelp when I moved and I have to say the 5 stars are well deserved. So far I've only used the fluff and fold but it's great. They do same day pickup/drop off for me which is amazing. They use my detergent and will honor any special instructions (air dry, cold wash,etc.) which is key.
