They are charging restaurant prices but are not set up like a restaurant. It was disappointing. My husband and I went in very excited to try something new close to home. We were left underwhelmed with lack of flavor in their sushi rolls and the portions of said rolls were small in proportion to the price. Moreover, the portions of the "tapas" were more like micro tapas. The ropa vieja egg rolls, was in fact a single egg roll cut into two and left much to desire. Very interesting sushi bar. First I started with beef empanadas. The pastry was perfectly cooked and was the best I have had. Who would have thought an empanada in a sushi bar. The sushi lacked flavor and the pork belly rice didn't even have sweet plantains as it states in the menu. Saw this place online and was excited about checking it out. The place looks nice on the inside, which gave us higher expectations for the food quality. First of all, they were the smallest pieces of sushi I've ever had, and the steak in the Soy Jibaro roll tasted rubber. The second roll we had tasted good until we couldn't bite through one of the ingredients. I kept trying to bite through whatever it was and eventually had to pull it out of my mouth. I was surprised to find out it was the seaweed paper. The waitress came to see how we were enjoying everything. I showed her the mountain of chewed-up seaweed on my plate, and she said she would talk to the kitchen about it. That was the last thing that anyone said about it. She never came back to apologize or follow up. The whole roll was like that, so I was surprised when it was still on my bill. Honestly one of the best places I've eaten at. I was impressed from the moment I walked in until I left. From the restaurant decor to the little details like the sake glasses, the amazing service to the vibe and music. And the food, dudes and dudettes! They have blessed my tastebuds! My big takeaway was that I would really recommend sticking with the tapas-- to me, the sushi fell a bit flat in comparison. However, I was blown away by the rich flavors of the ropa vieja egg rolls and the uniqueness of the avocado miso soup, and the crispy rice with spicy tuna was great as well, so next time, I would just stick with these appetizers, some beer/wine, and skip the sushi. The initial wait is different, there's no hostess or expected wait time given. We just got in a line with 2 parties in front of us and hoped for the best. Was about 25 min which isnt bad. Was just different, couldn't wait in car. This was okay though as the food was really good. Avocado miso soup was a unique thicker miso soup that i enjoyed. My favorite item was the spicy tuna crispy rice, i did feel like the overall item was a lot of work to eat, my mouth oddly felt tired but the item was very flavorful. Any of their sushi rolls with sweet plantain on top is a must to get the true fusion experience and will not disappoint you. I will admit i felt the skirt steak in our roll was a but dry and i think if it were cooked to medium instead of well that it wouldve been a 5 star experience. read more

I went the other night and tried the passionfruit mojito (which if you know me you know this is my absolute favorite cocktail) and it was a solid 10/10!! We ordered the pa bravo yo roll and the la presion. Normally two sushi rolls would not fill me up but these are a little heavier and did the job. The pa bravo roll is hands down one of the best menu items: crispy shrimp tempura, fresh avocado, sweet plantain on top, and the perfect drizzle of cilantro aioli. What's not to like!! With the la presion, be prepared for a smoky, torched taste from the fish as it is a bit overwhelming. We finished the meal with the guava bread pudding which... was not the star of the meal. I got lychee sake. Once i tired the lychee sake i LOVED IT. So i ordered the flight, which came with lychee sake, passion fruit sake and one more flavor. My friends ordered the same as well. For entree i got the Pa'bravo roll. Which was basically a shrimp tempura with platano and a green sauce on top. One of my friends got the same. My boyfriend got the veggie fried rice and the panamiyo roll. The chicken inside the roll is crunchy, which he liked but didn't love as much as the rice. My other friend got the fried Salomon roll. He enjoyed it. The overall flavor of the food is very different from what you'd expect. I think it really is a different take on sushi. I gave the restaurant 4 stars because the server failed to check on us, we just wanted to order more water and we couldn't even get the chance to. The wait time after we ordered was ridiculous. We noticed the table next to us ordered at the same time as us and had already finished their food before we were even served. The appetizers didn't even come out as appetizers they were just brought with the meal and i had to remind the waiter of our missing food. Would i come back? Yes because i love fusion sushi. Food was just okay, service was also just okay. We got a few appetizers (edamame, pork bao bun, miso soup), as well as some sushi but weirdly the apps were the last thing to come out after we had finished the rest. We ordered a roll with hamachi as the main fish, but when it came the fish inside was a deep/dark red and had the taste/texture of regular bluefin tuna. We got a crispy rice with spicy tuna on top which was pretty good. Though a lot of the tuna was in really large chunks over a few pieces of the crispy rice so you couldn't separate the pieces without using your fingers and getting sauce on your hands. Good prices on nigiri which was fine. But the roll was like $16, not very good, and I'm 100% sure had the wrong fish in it. Nice interior, waiter was very nice but not the best. read more

Love this place, it's so far ahead of its time and located next to a brand PR spot that I don't know if it'll work out in the long run, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My wife daughter and I started out with the "wannabe roll," which was a cross Cali roll mixed in with plantains.
