My son and I tried this place after finding it on Yelp and searching for Thai food in the area. We live in Newark and there is nothing close so decided on Mai Thai. My son ordered the Ginger chicken and Tom Yum soup with an extra side of fried rice. He ordered both at spice level two (1-5). He doesn't like food overly spicy. He said it was very good and the spice levels were just right for him. I ordered the Spicy Thai with chicken and the Tom Yum soup with an extra side of fried rice. My soup was spice level 2 and the main dish a 3. I usually enjoy spicier dishes. My soup was very good but man it was spicy...seemed hotter than a level 2 but was tasty and filled with flavor. The spicy Thai with chicken was also good and when mixed with the extra fried rice provided for a lot of food so will have some leftovers for tomorrow. The portion sizes are not big by any means but in today's market with everything getting smaller and yet more expensive they provide an adequate value with their price point. Just order an extra rice and it makes a lot. We will definitely go back and try some other dishes. The Curry bowls look good and have some good reviews as well, so looking forward to it. The place is located off a beaten path in an older free standing building. When we walked in the place was about 30% full with one person running the counter and serving. We were given menus and our order was taken a few minutes later. Ordered Pad Se Wo from the lunch special. I was a little disappointed with no soup or salad starter option. Food didn't taste anywhere close to Thai food, it felt more like food from a Chinese take out. I asked for Thai Condiments and the waiter looked at me like I was talking Chinese. I just moved to the area and I can't believe how blessed we are to find this great Thai restaurant just 5 min away from where we live. I saw a pic of Pineapple Curry Fried Rice that Bryan P posted and knew I HAD to try it. Took my nieces on a little adventure to Haslet today to try it out. It definitely met my expectations! The dish had a flavor complexity that just exploded in your mouth. I ordered it with chicken and between the moist, tender pieces of that and the aromatic curry flavor, occasional crunch from the cashews and the sweet pineapple chunks...Ermahgerd! I should've gotten another order to take home! One niece got her usual yellow curry with chicken at a level 4 spicy which she really enjoyed, and other niece got pad see ew with beef which was another hit. I found the curry a bit on the sweet side and not spicy at all. I also ordered my usual pad Thai with chicken and gotta say that was a miss. Why oh why can't I find good pad Thai?! Theirs wasn't bad but I found it just unimpressive. It was a tad too much on the sweet side and there was no wok hei flavor whatsoever. I got the Thai tea and that was also sweet. Will definitely pass on that next time. Service was great. The young lady who pretty much ran the whole place was very friendly and efficient. If you're out in this area, definitely stop by! Waited 10 mins, and my food was served, the appearance of the food was good, and has most of the ingredients supposed to be in Pad Thai, Only thing missing was the bean sprouts, but again, I have never had Pad Thai in Thailand, so I can't say for sure bean sprouts is the main ingredient, but I do like it. The taste was pretty good, and a portion was very generous! I remember reading a review here about not having an itemized receipt, but that was not the case anymore. He receipt I got show the items that I orders even with the add-on stuff. Overall, it was a good place for Thai food, but not so good if you are taking your client for business. My favorite of all Thai places in Fort Worth. When we moved to Justin/ Furthest North FW and found this place I was so relieved! Moving from Denver you have a ton of Thai food restaurants that are authentic and when we moved here we found a lot of Asian food restaurants incorporating a little Thai and it just was not the same. But not at Mai Thai, they serve genuine, authentic and REALLY GOOD food. They are super nice and very accommodating too. We always get the Thai Basil and Drunken Noodle with the Coconut Soup which is delish! The reason I give them 5 stars out of 5 is really also due to wait time. They are so quick and they deliver. It's always the same driver, and I'm stumping in his name right now but he is always worth a $10 tip. They are like a TELEPATHIC THAI DELIVERY. I order and then it's like magic they are here. We love eating at the restaurant too and we kinda feel like we are back in Thailand when we do! I just love this place and I 150% recommend!!! read more

I got the Massaman curry and shrimp pad Thai. The pad Thai was alright, have def had worse. No flavor to the dish. The Massaman broth was heavy on the peanut butter, so it was pretty sweet but rich. Would have been nice if there was anything in the curry other than chicken meat, onion and chucks of avocado. I kept eating it wondering if I would find potatoes or anything but it was just endless sweet sauce with chicken and avocado. ***update*** Came in today and ordered the Pepper Steak with level 3 spice. I could barely eat the food it was so spicy. The guy next to me had a hard time eating his food as well. The owner didn't seem to care and planned on charging me full price for my dish even though I sent it back because I couldn't eat it. After a few minutes of arguing with her she finally offered to remake my food. I won't come back to place that treats their customers like this. Any other restaurant would have offered to replace or refund my meal. Won't be back. read more
