I had the pad Thai with shrimp. It was delicious nice flavor my only critique would be I prefer the bean sprouts fresh on top opposed to being stirfried but certainly minor complaint. Hey look, if this were based on the food alone, it'd be a solid five stars. Nowhere in the DFW have I tasted such authentic and delicious Thai flavors. I was legitimately blown away. Got the pad see ew and the seafood red curry. Both were phenomenal and I do not say that lightly. There are, however, a few downsides. It's sort of in the middle of nowhere. So not very convenient. The space is really old and outdated and just in general, not welcoming. I would not want to spend time here for the atmosphere that's for sure. They do not itemize your check. So I think they actually overcharged me and charged for dinner prices when I ordered lunches. It's on me to not bring it up. But they literally just give you a price without telling you what it's for and no itemized receipt. I REALLY REALLY HATE that. So yeah I ended up paying a few extra dollars. Still though, this was probably the most legit Thai food I've had in the DFW area. I might just have to go back to Thailand to avoid all this drama in the future. Next time, if there is one, I will be sure to ask for an itemized receipt and not play the fool again. Though next time I'll be in Chiang Mai suckers with none of this nonsense. This is probably my favorite Thai food!! Anytime someone tells me that their favorite food is Thai... I ALWAYS recommend Mai Thai! FOOD: My family and I always get the green curry & pad thai! You can't go wrong with either! I usually get the spice level at 1 cause they can get pretty spicy. The portion sizes are also really big, so I would recommend ordering as a table and sharing! It's so good and so consistently good. Always hot and fresh and I love that I get to decide spice level. 4 out 5 in heat is right for me. Here's what we get every time.. eggrolls, spring rolls, Lad Na with beef, Pad Kee Maow (Drunken Noodle), beef fried rice (the best in the area) and crab rangoon. The food is delicious. The whole family was disappointed after we ordered a bunch of food for takeout and the containers were half full. There wasn't much meat in the dishes, either, as some only had two pieces of chicken and another only two shrimp. I got the green coconut curry, and my husband got the red curry, both were very very good! We both got the level 4 spiciness and that seemed to be the perfect punch without burning your tastebuds off. Disclaimer: we enjoy spicy foods so if you're more sensitive stick with a 3 or even a 2. We got ours to go so I cannot say anything about atmosphere/cleanliness etc. But we didn't receive much in the way of napkins and only one set of chopsticks. Hence the 4 stars. We also got the fried dumplings, and oh my gosh that was amazing! It was like Asian flavor influenced meatballs with fried rice paper wrapped around it. These with the sauce provided was what my husband and I fought over. They could have been a LITTLE more moist. But all in all we loved it. (Also, we were starving so that may influence some of this review) when ordering to go we had PLEANTY of curry and enough rice for 1 very generous portion with curry/soup stuff left over. We still have left overs after filling ourselves up. The outside of the building leaves much to be desired, but again, we got ours to-go so none of that even mattered. Ask for extra napkins, get the fried dumplings, and probably get an extra side of rice to go for an extra meal. One curry can easily feed 2 people, especially if you get extra rice. read more

It is very difficult to find quality Asian food in this area. Mai Thai is a gem in area. Food is always cooked to order and heat level. Basil fried rice is phenomenal. They do all the standard soups and noodle dishes honor. If you you curries, I definitely recommend them. They are all good but I prefer the red and greens. Small place. Family run. Good service. Visiting family and they wanted to eat from here. As a vegan, I called ahead to see if they had tofu on the menu and asked a few questions! They were super helpful. Even though on their website, I saw vegetarian options and extra veggies, etc., I didn't see tofu on the menu so I was pleased to hear they actually had it! I got the Pad Kee Mao-(Drunken Noodles)!!! And was able to veganize them. I ordered the dish with Tofu, no egg & no fish or oyster sauce, just in case! It was great! I also got an order of their edamame, which were cooked perfectly, even considering it being an order to-go! I did however have to add fresh sea salt to them once I got to the house, but I prefer mine salted. Anyway, this thai place impressed us tonight and it was nice being able to join family to eat where they wanted without a fuss. So thank yall at Mai Thai for accommodating the vegan people! This little place is awesome. They have traditional food that will make your heart and belly happy. The crag ragoons, and egg rolls should be the 1st thing you get. All the curries are great but I have a thing for the yellow one. You can add spice where you will be comfortable if you want it bearable get a 2. If you want it evil get a 5. The fried rice is always good. Owner is a very nice lady and her girls are normally at the cashier. She will come out and check on you. I love this place! The food is great, the service is great, it is all around a great place to get dinner or lunch and I mean Harrison Ford has been there so that's a plus too. You have the option of getting pretty much any meal without meat which is great for vegetarians. You can also add on chicken, beef, shrimp, or seafood to your dish. I got the Pad Thai, the sauce is amazing and the addition of peanuts is the perfect crunch. The service is fantastic, everyone there is very sweet and helpful, I was unsure what to get and our waitress helped me out. This was my first time trying Thai Tea and it was so good, I've since had other Thai Tea and Mai Thai's is my favorite so far. A co-worker suggested this place, so we decided to pack 10 of us from work and check it out. It's not a big place, so we called ahead to make sure they knew we were coming. They handled the group very well. I had the Basil Fried Rice with chicken, level 3 spice, since it was my first visit. It tasted great and I'll probably go for level 4 next time (they do 1-5 on spice kick). I had an iced tea to drink....think I'll try the Thai iced tea next visit. Very reasonably priced lunch. Why only 4 stars? Service was a bit slow, but maybe that's normal? I'll find out again on the next trip. Parking is limited, so carpool if you're bringing a group. I had Green Curry Chicken, my father had seafood. Both were pleasantly spiced, and the taste reminded me of some of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at in California. Not disappointing.
