We are very disappointed in their policies here. Our brother purchased a $200.00 gift card for us to use at this location. It is recommended that you go online and reserve an alley in advance if you want to bowl. Otherwise, you could be waiting a long time, or never get a lane. We went online to reserve, and you can only reserve a lane if you use a credit card. We called the location and asked if we could reserve a lane with the $200 gift card that was purchased for us. We were told "no." You have to come in and get on a "waiting list" and wait for a lane if you want to use a gift card. What the what?! If someone purchased a gift card and spent $200 dollars for it, why in the world can't you use that to secure a lane just like a credit card? Why would anyone want to purchase a gift card to this place then? A gift card, that was purchased with someone's hard earned money, should be able to be used to reserve a lane. Extremely frustrating and poor customer service. It feels like, once the gift card was purchased, you are secondary. Not ok. read more

A very reactionary, easily triggered "manager" kicked my family out on Christmas Day and aggressively engaged my wife and me to the point where I was expecting to be punched in the face until the actual manager intervened and pushed this guy back. Two other employees looked like they were preparing to jump in, not to stop the incident, but to escalate it. I've waited a few days so the emotions of the situation could calm, and I could recount the incident more diplomatically rather than a "heat of the moment" rant. Fair warning: This is a long post but necessary for context. My family's Christmas Day plans were postponed last minute due to one of our family members testing positive for Covid, so we decided to go bowling, my wife, my two daughters, and my oldest daughter's boyfriend. We reserved a lane for two hours, which meant that we had already paid for everything (lane, shoes, game cards, "convenience fees," taxes, etc.) totaling around $200. We show up, the place is pretty empty on a Christmas evening, and we get our lane. I will take this moment to admit that my wife and I have been bowling together since we first started dating 26 years ago when bowling alleys were just that: bowling alleys. People went there to bowl and maybe have a few beers. All the other stuff didn't exist, therefore people understood and practiced proper bowling etiquette. Those days are over. I get that. But it doesn't make it any less frustrating when I'm trying to bowl and enjoy my family time on a running clock that I've already paid for, but I can't because now I have an entire family of eight blocking our lane because they all feel like they need to surround each other while they figure out how to bowl. Eventually, this family got their ball stuck in the gutter, started pushing buttons, raised the bumpers, and we still couldn't access our lane. Here's where the incident begins. No one working for Main Event were helping these people or at the very least letting them know they were interfering with multiple lanes around them. This went on at least 15 minutes (of my time on my dime) so I walked over, took one step, just one foot, onto the median where the employees usually walk to fix issues (not the lane or the gutter, the median), picked up their ball, set it down in front of the little girl who got it stuck, and the next thing I see is this "manager" right in my face yelling, "Don't get on my lanes!" If it weren't for the headset, I wouldn't have known he even worked there. He didn't have on any Main Event apparel. He looked like an MMA junkie in his bedazzled jeans, tight Ed Hardy shirt, and spiky hair, and he looked like he was already prepared to fight me. I told him I was retrieving their ball so that we could bowl in our lane without being blocked. He yelled again, "You don't get on my lanes!" So I said, "If you would do a better job of policing whatever this family is doing to disrupt all the other bowlers around them, I wouldn't have had to take matters into my own hands." That's when he yelled, "That's it! I'm cutting you off!" I asked, "Really?" And he responded, "Oh yeah! This is happening!" And he was smiling the entire time like he received great pleasure in all of this. Mind you at this time, we're only an hour into our two-hour, already-paid-for bowling time. And he's cutting us off and kicking us out because I had to fix their problem while not addressing the actual problem. So our lane goes dark, I start taking my shoes off and returning our bowling balls to the racks, and my wife walks up to the front to ask the "manager" about a refund. He confronts her, gets in her face like he did to me, tells her that we're never getting a refund, and at this point is very much crossing a line. My wife tells him this is ridiculous, and he says, "Do you think I want to be working on Christmas?" Not sure what to do with that response, my wife reiterates we're in this situation because we were trying to fix a problem they wouldn't. That's when he said, "Do you think those f**king Indians will listening to me?" At this point, I'm walking up, seeing what's going on, and just trying to return my shoes and be done with this whole thing. He comes at me again to the point where, Aaron M., the actual manager, intervenes to keep him from fully engaging with me. I haven't said a word at this point. I'm just holding my shoes and trying to protect my wife. This is when I can see two other employees behind the counter walking toward us like they had this "manager's" back and wanted to join in on the potential assault. Notice I'm only using the actual manager's name here because it's the only name I was given when the actual manager, Aaron, took us far away from the front desk to finally refund about half of our money. I don't think someone that easily triggered and ready for an altercation needs to be employed in a family environment around kids and parents, but it felt like he was very protected in spite of his behavior. read more

I was excited to have my son's birthday party at Main Event in Frisco. We paid a lot of money because I wanted my son to feel special (he hasn't had a big birthday party in years due to covid). I had expectations, and I left feeling disappointed. My kid did have a blast, and he was oblivious to any issues along the way. Also, I never write bad reviews, but maybe it will help someone in the future making plans for their child's party. Here were my issues: We definitely did not get the promised hour for bowling. Upon arrival, there were other people eating at the tables in our designated section. They had to clear out, and then our lane broke during the first bowling round. We did have two people helping to host the party. One was very sweet (and for that reason I feel a little guilty writing this review) but when things went wrong, it seemed out of her control to try to fix it. I feel like that is a training issue (not her fault). Our other helper we did not see much after he helped gathering bowling shoes. I was told he was cleaning, and if so he was very thorough! Some of my guests went to the bar area to buy drinks. Several waited twenty minutes before the bartender offered to take their orders. Apparently, the bartenders were playing on their cell phones, and ignoring customers. Our guests were very frustrated, and many gave up trying to get service. Each child is supposed to receive a game card to play games. Our party host handed out the cards, and we were seven short. We were paying for 19 kids (only 18 were at the party). There were six kids without game cards, and we didn't receive an extra for the missing child. Our hostess told my friends that if they wanted their kids to play, they would need to buy game cards. The kids parent's all went to buy cards!!! I was able to stop them, and I went and bought some cards to give to the kids. A few minutes later, our party hostess showed up with three game cards. I ended up telling her there were seven missing. She went and talked to her supervisor, and came back and said if we wanted more game cards, we would have to pay for them. We then went to speak to the supervisor. The supervisor initially explained again that if we wanted more cards, we were going to have to pay for them. I understand the concept of paying for game cards, but if you don't receive the promised cards, shouldn't that be addressed? We talked through it, and EVENTUALLY I received three more game cards (so six of the seven missing cards). It was a terrible process. It was uncomfortable. We still didn't end up with what we paid for. I spent an hour trying to resolve this situation. During that hour, I missed out on my kid's birthday party! I have no pictures of him with his friends playing games or playing laser tag. I'm bummed and disappointed that we chose Main Event over Pinstack. read more

But when you consider that most of the activities are $7 and up, $19 isn't bad. It's a nice place and seems well managed and clean. Good for both adults and kids. We did not bother with the food-these places don't usually have very good food. When it gets crowded, the wait for each activity can be a bit long. It's a good place. You can bowl, do billards, putt putt (it's not really big), walk over suspended ropes, play games, and play laser tag. All these type of indoor places look expensive but here not as much as other places. We had fun with the putt putt. It's not very big so you can get done in about a half hour. But you can have a really good time with several people and it can take a little longer. We had 4 people. We only played putt putt, so I don't know how the food is. Sorry! We did a kids birthday party today and the set up wasn't ready when we arrived. The ladies restroom had no soap, no paper towels and only a few stalls had toilet paper! The place is staffed by teenagers that have not been trained. After I finally got a young girl to put in paper towels, the dispenser didn't dispense the paper towels because the batteries were dead and no one knew how to change them!! We had a fantastic time at Main Event! Our family of six started with dinner. The sampler appetizer was perfect. Enough of everything for all to enjoy. For the entrees several of us ordered the skillet Mac & cheese. It's really good! Our daughters enjoyed the burgers too. Our server Bri was wonderful. Attentive, friendly and took great care of us. Then we went bowling and enjoyed that too. Their lanes are fun and everything is so clean and well maintained. And all of the staff was friendly and super helpful. After that we had time to play games in the arcade and we all shared a giant ice cream sundae called the Big Fun Sunday. It's huge and oh so good. You won't eat this yourself. Five of us shared it and we could a barely finish it. It had fresh baked cookies. Fresh made donut holes and several types of ice cream. We all loved it. And best of all we were all able to sit at the table and enjoy it together and talk, laugh and enjoy each other's company as well as a great dessert. The arcade was fun for all of us. The machines are well maintained with a great variety for all ages. It was a great way to spend an being with our family. We look forward to going back again soon! read more

Main Event has really upped their game! The facility is super clean and the staff are super friendly. They practice COVID safety which is great. They have some great games which keep my kids happy. But the adults in my group also enjoy some of the games as well. The Star Wars game is awesome! My only issue is the food. Every time we've eaten at any Main Event, we've gotten sick. So we don't eat there anymore. They really need to do something about the food. As I said, the staff is so friendly. However The one staff member that I've encountered on the times I've been there is a person by the name Michelle. She's awful. I've heard her talk down to employees and she's not been friendly when we've asked questions. Why she's employed there is beyond me. Anyways, it's overall a great fun time! read more

Went to bowl there tonight with some friends. I never like to leave reviews on places but this was next level bad. I'm talking the worst I've ever seen. It took almost 30 mins to get a water and we asked about 5 different times. Random drinks were set at our table with no explanation. A lot of the employees looked like zombies roaming around aimlessly. Not to mention, the score board in the bowling lanes was broken and glitching. During our last game the entire bowling alley shut down and our game glitched again when it was turned back on. No one in the entire facility except for one person knew what was actually going on and took responsibility for our table and other tables around us. Janky!! Stay away from the video games. 1 out of 3 doesn't work or takes your money. Games are poorly maintained and staff doesn't care. Buttons don't work, no balls in game, swipers broken, screens ruined, etc... Management team is passive on the concerns raised by customers. If you are bowling, then you will be alright. Anything beyond that I would head to their competition. Note: They reached out to me to learn of my experience and out me in touch with the manager. I hold my daughter's birthday party at this location every year for the past 3 years. We were here the previous weekend and spent upwards of $700+ on a birthday party for all the kids to have unlimited everything. (This is a yearly paid event we hold there) Today my wife and I came to bowl and paid for unlimited bowling and purchased a bucket of beer and as they brought the second 5 pack the screen tells us we must leave the lane due to someone reserving the lane. Mind you there is no wait for a lane when we arrive and they tell us nothing of even the POSSIBILITY that we may have to move lanes. So now they tell us we must go to the back of the line on the waiting list (estimated wait time was over an hour) and best of luck essentially. We now have 2 halfway drank drinks from the first bucket they brought out and another bucket untouched and we are ONLY there to bowl. The manager Monica refunded our money which was great but that doesn't give us out Saturday Night back nor the money we had to spend on a sitter, the Uber rides there and home and just flat out ruined our only night we could get out without kids. I will be letting my daughter know we won't be having her parties there any longer and will find a better venue who values the money you spend in the business. I'm confident not one person will even attempt to reach out to resolve this issue even knowing how angry I was when speaking to the Manager Monica. I'm certain she feels justified being that she gave us our money back for the UNLIMITED passes that could only be described as LIMITED. Had this be STATED clearly for people to know I would say okay cool and risk vs reward. But it ISN't. My family will not spend another dime in this establishment ever again. A great place for pre-teen children's birthday party! There are tons of options to choose from. Our host was a great young lady who served beyond our expectations! The management worked with us to adjust for our small group size. My only suggestion to management to pay their employees more than minimum wage. It was saddening to learn about their pay rate. Those high school level boys and girls work there till 1:00 am on weeknights and they should be rewarded accordingly ( this is why I took off 1 star)! So ladies, I know you will understand my plight. I tasked my husband to book our son's birthday party about two months ago. We got there yesterday and his name was not in their system. My husband had booked it for the next day and never bothered to check. Cue mom's meltdown and the thought that there were twenty kids about to show up in half an hour. Thank God for the Main Event because they still made it happen. Jeremy, the manager, promptly got everything together and it was an absolute success. The girls that helped us were so professional and helpful. It is by far our favorite venue since you start with bowling for an hour (which wears the kids out), then food and cake, then games. People can play as much or as little as they want and don't feel obligated to be with the party for five hours. Everyone commented on how much they loved the place. So, thank you to the staff at the Main Event for a job well done. We decided to have my sons 10th bday party here. Big mistake. This company doesn't allow its employees to make decisions to make its guests happy. With plenty of new event style places like this we will not be coming back. It's also miss managed. The party room had used socks in the room. Do they even clean? Multiple dirty tables in the event space. I don't normally write reviews but when brought to the managing partners attention, nothing was done. Honestly, this place is kind of a joke. They advertise "unlimited Mondays". You get there and there's a 2 hour wait at 6 o'clock. During the wait, everything else besides bowling that you have access to is full and you sit around. Once you're finally able to bowl, you get 1 hour and they kick you off due to wait. I get it. Multiple food items never came, wait staff were non existent, we had get up and go to go to the food court for drinks since no waitstaff would come by. My daughter and I had a great time playing and eating here for a good 3.5 hours! We were treated well and were so thankful to not be shunned for choosing to be NORMAL with our faces uncovered! Went in yesterday for the $7 bowling all day deal and had a blast. Celia was absolutely amazing and a fantastic ambassador for the brand. Dirty (like visible clumps of dirt and lint on the putting greens), sad to look at and not well maintained. I'm disappointed that money is more important than others safely during this pandemic but I understand everyone has a choice and I choose to not be apart of super spreader activities.... I probably wouldn't recommend coming here. Not worth the money at all for bowling, gaming, or laser tag. We came in to play some games, eat some food, and have a fun time. Wasn't a terrible overall experience but there's definitely a few things that took away from the experience. For starters, I'd say a good 30-40% of the games/machines are broken in some way. Either the scoreboards don't work properly, you'll get charged and not even be able to play the game, or the game as a whole just doesn't work. Between the 6 of us, we easily got charged for at least $50 of games that we didn't even get the chance to enjoy. The game selection is really poor. Barely any shooting games and the ones they do have are pretty much all broken. Hope you like racing games, cuz there's like 500 of them along with a couple dilapidated ski ball lanes and air hockey. Getting assistance for anything is a nightmare. The teenagers who work here are snotty, rude brats. They've clearly had NO training whatsoever. I had to put a couple of them in their place for having attitude when I asked for help with some of the broken machines. I get that they probably make minimum wage and work there part time but it's still no excuse. Managers are nowhere to be found. I could go on, but you get the point. Way too many other options for not only gaming but also bowling, and laser tag. Again, don't recommend. read more

I came here for a birthday party and the facility itself is top notch. Things are clean, nice, and new. It was a very structured party, there was some designated time in the beginning with bowling for everyone there. From there, we went to the party room in the back where the staff brought food (pizza) and were attentive to the needs of the party. From there, we went to play games and every child got a play card with pre-loaded funds. The problem was, however, that the cards did not work in the machines. The host had to gather everyone up (imagine doing that after a bunch of kids had already gone their own way) and get new cards for everyone. I am not sure how that happened, but it was a quite the ordeal. I really hope the host of the party got a discount or something to make up for this. read more
