I'm actually done with this place. Seeing everything go up in price and down in quality is just not worth it any more. Even in one month the quality has gone down even further. Unfortunately I will never be back as I can get the same level of quality from the Ralph's sushi counter for a cheaper price. RIP to a real one.

The service is really friendly here. The pacing of this location is slower, but in a calming way. Food pacing is good between items. The quality of seafood is really fresh and tasty. Quantity is impressive for the price. The table I was in is next to a bug zapper, so occasionally, you'll hear a loud snap from a bug (it's hot and humid right now in LA). If you want a calm and a relaxing evening, this is a great location.

A Must Try Sushi Spot! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the owner and staff were incredibly kind and welcoming! The tuna, salmon, and other seafood were so fresh, tender, and had absolutely no fishy smell. They also have a great variety of drinks, and the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable perfect for having a conversation. I also loved that it's pet-friendly! The cleanliness and food hygiene were a 10/10. I was so satisfied that I honestly don't feel like trying another sushi place. Definitely recommend

I stopped by Maki Noho for a quick lunch and overall had a pleasant experience. I liked the ambiance a lot because it felt clean, calm, and relaxed, which made it easy to enjoy a midday meal without feeling rushed. I also found the service to be friendly and attentive, and I appreciated how quickly everything came out. I thought the handrolls were good, but nothing really stood out to me. They were fine for a quick lunch, just not something I'd go out of my way for. I especially noticed that the lemon roll tasted too bitter for my liking, since there was a lot of zest that overpowered the fish. I also tried the spicy mushroom soup and a ginger tea, which I found to be safe and comforting but not memorable. I'd come back when I want something quick, easy, and reliable.

Was looking for a new sushi place to try. Found Maki Noho and decided to try it. Ordered a few things this day including Salmon Nigiri, Tuna nigiri, and Yellowtail. I also tried the spicy mushroom soup and a baked salmon roll . The service is via tablets on the table. The owner's are friendly and attentive and add to the authenticity. The food was fresh and of great quality. The ambiance was clean and well lit.

This was my first visit. Free parking garage behind the restaurant. Park in the spaces marked "Retail". Some sushi places are stuffy. There's a very relaxed feeling here. Self-ordering via consoles on the table. All of our food tasted great! I look forward to going back to try more.

It was absolutely delicious, and all the staff were so kind and friendly! The ambiance is cozy, and the bathroom is also very clean! The tuna and salmon were especially amazing--they literally melted in my mouth I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! You definitely have to try it--you won't regret it!!

Most everyone is aware that entrepreneurship is a striking challenge. Trying your hand at entrepreneurship as a restauranteer - is a whole other level of hardship especially in Los Angeles where the culinary scene is over-saturated and ever rotating. No one knows this better than the Oh family of Maki Noho. The Ohs originally entered the food scene in the Gaslamp District of San Diego.with a deli that unfortunately was forced to shutter after building owners wanted to renovate the space. This led to Mama Oh working at a Korean eatery in Ventura before the Ohs decided to strike out on their own and create their own space to tantalize taste buds. Their first endeavor was sadly, like some many others, shut down by Covid. But now, the Oh Family has overcome all these hurdles and launched Maki Noho. Maki Noho sits in a small strip plaza on Lankershim Blvd by Firehouse Subs and Pho Noho where Hoke Poke once held real estate. Can you expect a large, elaborate dining space with Maki Noho? Well, no. Just like the tight-knit Oh Family; Maki Noho is also small in square footage with few tables so it is not the most accommodating. And speaking of, the tables are so low that it feels like you are sitting in those Fisher Price color block plastic chairs. What is up with that Maki Noho?! Despite this, Maki Noho is clean, bright and inviting with its white washed walls and windows panels where you can watch Mama Oh herself cooking in the kitchen (Maki Noho utilizes her recipes!) Maki Noho is the home to sushi, nigiri, bibimbap bowls, kimchi rolls, pike bowls, etc. My party of two visited on a Saturday evening and was ready to feast to see what Maki Noho was all about. We started with Salmon Skewers as an appetizer and White Peach flavored sake to toast the night. The Salmon Skewers were delicious with a crisp skin and a light glaze dusted with herbs and the sake was peachy goodness. But let's get to crux of Maki Noho, shall we? For our dinner, we ordered a Rainbow Specialty Maki Roll ($16), Eel Maki (6 piece roll, $12), Salmon Maki (6 piece roll, $12) and 9 piece combo Sashimi ($29) with Salmon, yellowtail and tuna. They say you eat with your eyes first and Maki Tuna has that down to a pedigree. Each dish was minimalist and yet almost Feng shui in presentation. Artfully but delicately plated bright, fresh fish with just the art amount of accents to not overdo or outdo the fish, itself. Beautiful. Equally delightful was the actual Maki. One might expect sub-par sushi at a small eatery but Maki Noho does not mess around. The fish is fresh, delicious and all ingredients play off each other perfectly like a well-structured sports team. Maki Noho is ideal for Noho Arts District residents seeking sushi in a casual and fast environment. Also notable is the music selection blasting in the dining room. The Oh Family must be "down" with their West Coast gangsta rap because the playlist was bumping with Ice Cube, Tupac, Snoop and then some 50 Cent and Jay Z for good measure. And I'm not talking the radio edits but the unedited rated R versions. And honey, I'm not complaining because this is LA afterall; but it was certainly unexpected. Maki Noho is a lovely addition to the Noho Arts District by the Oh Family and is standout in the casual, fast-dining sushi dining space. Maki Noho is worth a visit... or three.

I literally had to come on here and write a review when i realized... this is my third time eating here this week lol. This is one of my weekly spots but that spicy tuna has been calling my name repeatedly this week!! The food is always fresh, and hits the spot like no other. I've tried numerous crispy rice spicy tunas in the valley and nobody does it like Maki Noho! Aside from the food being delicious, everyone that works here is so sweet and kind. It almost feels like I'm eating at my grandmas house, the woman and man that work here never let my water cup sit empty, and one time she even poured my coke can for me. It's the little things that keep customers coming back, aside for how bomb the food is !! Side note : volcano hand roll is also very fire and not pictured here but you better believe i ordered it to go!

We ordered the Volcano Roll, the Shrimp Tempura Crunch, and the Spicy Tuna Tempura. We didn't care for the Spicy Tuna Tempura roll, and when we let our waitress know, she was very understanding and took it off the bill. The service overall was great. This is a hidden gem!! Wow. One of the best sushi places I have experienced and I travel the world. We had the spicy mushroom soup, baked salmon, salmon nigiri, spicy tuna, seaweed salad, and hand rolls. Absolutely delicious and worth ordering again!! Great service, great saki. I had the teriyaki chicken and salmon nigiri. even though the sushi consisted of 2 pieces they were sizable and very nicely presented with avocado and I think bacon. Whichever, I enjoyed them. The teriyaki chicken had great texture, and a grilled taste I found wonderful after all the processed chicken I'd been subsisting on lately. Enjoyed the multi-grain rice and little salad greens, too. I'd love to go back any time! read more

Came back and the food is good as always. I highly recommend trying the beets by Jay. It's so refreshing especially after a workout. Honestly this place is great for a post meal workout. Great local addition to the NoHo neighborhood. Ordered online and picked up my yummy sushi 30 minutes later. The place was completely empty and void of any customers within sight so I got a little wary about dining choice.... Until I walked home and fully indulged in my sushi craving. Really solid maki and appetizers!~ Every maki i've had has been, fresh, tasty, and worth the money. Staff is always polite and attending I do say steer clear of the nigiri! Each nigiri has a "sauce" on top of it that is not advertised in the menu. One of them came with a spicy green salsa on top. I'm here for fusion, but I was not expecting my nigiri to have a spicy green salsa on top that overpowered and ruined the flavor of the fish. Though i'm sure if you ask for it without the sauce, it'll be delicious. read more

What a great new place! Great Food and Service. I've been once a week since they have opened and I've had a great experience each time. So have my friends who have tagged along with me. The food is fresh and tasty. You can tell they are purchasing good quality meats. Great spot to go hang out with friends to eat lunch or dinner. It's a very clean restaurant and you can even see into the kitchen and see just how clean it is. I love the veggie Miso soup, Potato Pancake, Veggie Tempura and the Teriyaki Chicken. The rolls (Maki), are very large portions and very tasty. They have Sake Cocktails, Japanese Beers and Cold Sake. The Bloody Sake Cocktail they have on the menu is so good and the Cucumber Sake (Q-Sake) Cocktail is going to be great on the warm days! Constancy is great, quality is great! Service is friendly and welcoming, it's definitely a place to travel from Hollywood to eat at, LOL. Definitely add this spot to your must try list. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu! read more

Maki Noho is incredible. The small space is immaculate and has a calm welcoming vibe. We ordered two combo poke bowls, a miso soup, and shishito peppers for lunch. The food quality was superb and you could tell everything was super fresh. All of the flavors were very well balanced and was a delight in every bite. Service was top tier. Our waitress was kind and attentive and let us know this is family owned. All the more reason to support them! read more

so grateful to have found this cozy sushi spot! the server was incredibly kind and efficient, and we loved the look of the restaurant. we ordered the salmon and tuna poke bowl and the kimchi beef stone pot- both of which were delicious and arrived so quick. the salmon and tuna poke bowl was filling yet light and the fish was soft and buttery and perfectly complemented with the warm rice and refreshing lettuce and apple. will definitely be coming back to this place. read more

Delicious. Absolutely delicious. And they were even able to accommodate my daughter who is strict gluten free. For people who need gf, they suggested sticking to classic rolls, nigiri, etc. They even made the rainbow roll gf for her. She loved everything. I had the hamachi nigiri (not gf, I had it with the sauce they use) + the blooming onion. Soooo good. It's a small place with 5 tables and 2 seats at a counter. Very casual but the flavors are superb. read more

Not a sushi fan so this is for the few of us left on planet Earth. First, this place is straight out of central casting, if central casting had a way to create places. If you have seen any Japanese movie or movie set in Japan and they show you a neighborhood sushi bar it would look like this one. So kudos on that. I got the Spicy Tuna Tempura (at least there would be something fried, right). My daughter got the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Jalapeno maki. My wife got the Grilled Bass with the Miso glaze. For appetizers, we got the fried chili garlic cauliflower and the kimchi pancakes. I can tell you that the spicy tuna tempura was perfect. Crispy but also did not lose the consistency of sushi. I enjoyed it. My daughter, who loves sushi, also enjoyed it. Which says a lot because she is very choosy about her sushi. I also had a piece of her Spicy Tuna rice jalapeno. Excellent. I had a few bites of the grilled bass. The grilled bass was amazingly well cooked. Amazing technique by the chef. The fish was cooked, but it tasted very fresh. It was cooked enough to be cooked and taken out at exactly the right moment so it would not be overcooked. The fried chili garlic cauliflower was very good. I did not know what to make of the kimchi pancakes. It seemed to be a good idea but the execution was perhaps not possible. I did not taste the kimchi and the pancake seemed unfinished. We ate everything. Nothing to bring home. I would admit that the pancakes were not easy to deal with but I wanted to like them. My wife and daughter did eat most of those. read more

I'm so glad this place opened up! It's the perfect lunch spot--the inside is cozy and stylish, with 7-8 tables, and they serve a wide variety of dishes. In warm weather, they open up the big front windows so you get a full patio experience! Service is great, everyone is kind and friendly...dining out is largely about the experience, and I have to say that Maki Noho *really* delivers a fun, casual lunch experience! Maki Noho is my new favorite sushi spot in LA! I went there tonight with one of my best friends & we decided to try it because of the incredible reviews. The service was so great and you can tell there is a passion behind the food which always makes the experience so much better. The vibes were laid-back and simple / cute. My friend and I ordered 2 appetizers and 2 cut rolls and everything was as delicious as we expected and hoped it would be. Will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone looking for great sushi in LA! read more

I thought it was too sweet for me and it didn't taste like most Pad Thais I've had or come to expect, but it was still okay. Veggie Rolls - This is pretty much salad/lettuce in a spring roll, and the peanut sauce is what makes it delicious. Not very large or filling, but good if you want some side greens. If you have a peanut allergy, skip these because they're kinda boring without the sauce. Panang Curry with Filet Mignon and added Japanese Pumpkin - This was a good dish! The steak was cooked a little too well for my liking, but it was generous in portion and the sauce was really flavorful. I was glad I added the pumpkin. Filet Mignon Pho - Not my favorite pho ever, but I liked that they offered Thai and Vietnamese options. When I ordered online, I didn't see in the description that it included bean sprouts or basil and that I had to order them for $2 each. I like my pho with every dang thing, so I spent the extra $4. The items did already come with the pho, plus I got an extra bag that I didn't really need to order. The steak was thinly sliced and tender, I just wish there was more of it. Salmon Rolls - These are pretty heavy, the fresh salmon is fried on the outside and rare on the inside. They come with a few dipping sauces, including a spicy mustard that I liked. Thai Tea Caramel Creme - This is honestly the reason I order from here. I am a damn fiend for Thai Tea-flavored desserts, and I crave this one all the time. It has a rich, velvety texture and a strong Thai tea flavor. I have thought of stopping by just to order this, and I probably will. Our orders have always been ready on time, although I can't speak for any dining-in experience, and I think it's a little pricier than other Thai restaurants. The website is just a little wonky... I like that everything is customizable in just about every way, and there are pictures of most items, but the pho order wasn't clear about what it would come with, and some of the upcharges are higher than they should be. However, I will come back for that Thai tea dessert because I've fallen in love.
