04/05/25 Was interested in checking out Maman for a while. It was a rainy Saturday, early afternoon, and I wanted coffee. Upon entering Maman, I was blown away by the lovely atmosphere. Maman is a French cafe, wherein all of the baked goods, and products are imported from France. The Manager confirmed, the baked goods ingredients are all imported from France. The decor is gorgeous, the drinks, menu, everything is absolutely perfect including the lovely gentleman that assisted me with my order Steven. Being that Steven definitely knows a thing or two about coffee, I trusted his expertise. Stepped outside of my comfort zone. Never imagined having tahini, and honeycomb in my latte. It's great that there's a maman in this location cause there aren't too many shops around here. It's a little high end of a bakery with multiple locations across NYC but there's a reason people love going back. The food is pretty good, a little pricey, but expected for NYC. I finally made it to this Maman location after having it on my list for months. I have heard wonderful things about the beautiful interior, and was happy to see it was just as I had seen on my social media feeds. I will say the location is smaller than I had thought it would be but still beautiful and plenty of room with lots of tables. Overall my coffee was ok, and there was no line so I received my coffee quickly. I was hoping they would have a few tables for cafe guests (as opposed to those who order a full brunch) and was disappointed that was not the case so I headed over to the west side highway to read and enjoy my coffee. The reason this review has 3 stars is because upon entering I could tell the staff at the front was not happy to be there. I think this is one of the newer Maman locations, and quite possibly the biggest? I will tell you though, It's gorgeous!!! They really decorated the space beautifully and there's a much larger dining room compared to other Mamans. It gets very busy during brunch/lunch hours on the weekends. I came by myself and wasn't looking for a table, but there were quite a few parties waiting when I went around 12:00 on a Saturday. When you walk in, you'll see the delicious display case of all their baked goods and a wall of their classic pretty blue coffee cups stacked up. You can order anything to-go here. On the left side, you'll see the barista bar where they make your drinks to stay and to go. There was only 1 person behind the bar, so I waited a while for my drink, but didn't mind because I was taking pics of the cafe lol.
