    Overnight Oats
    Angela R.

We stopped here for breakfast while we were in the area. It was around 9am on a Thursday and the place was packed with a line to the door. You order your food, get a number and they bring the food to you. The food was ok. I ordered the overnight oats. They just didn't have much flavor. I also ordered a hot chai tea latte. It was good but had too much froth on the top for my liking. I didn't get much of the chai flavor as I was drinking it. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich. He also said it did not have much flavor.

This place was super cute and packed when we stopped by on Sunday for brunch! After browsing, I went with the Chicken sandwich and decided to try the Strawberry citrus cruffin along with a chai. The food came out pretty quickly and overall was impressed! The baguette bread on the sandwich was nicely toasted and came with a good amount of chicken. The cruffin was quite good and had a good amount of strawberry jam in there and loved the tartness so it balanced out the sweetness. The chai was also good and nothing remarkable but loved that it wasn't overly sweet. The staff were super friendly and loved the overall atmosphere of the place! Overall would recommend if you are close for either picking something up to go or dining in!

I came here twice on a short visit to DC. The chocolate chip cookies with nuts are really moist with a lot of chocolate! Almond croissant was really buttery inside and crispy on the outside. My latte was the best that I have had in a long time. The decor inside this restaurant is beautiful.

Love the ambiance inside with the plant greenery garden scene! It was busy but the food and drinks came out quickly. Service was great. The steak sandwich was so yummy, all the flavors and texture was on point!

The space is the first thing you notice--high ceilings, lots of greenery, and blue-and-white china throughout. It's bright and comfortable, with a small retail section near the communal table. Gets busy but stays manageable. The avocado smoked salmon tartine was the standout. Seeded sourdough with smashed avocado, smoked salmon, pickled red onion, cherry tomatoes, striped chioggia beets, dill, parsley, and pumpkin seeds. They bring extra salmon on the side, which I appreciated. Fresh and well put together. The candied bacon was thick and smoky with a good caramelized edge--a nice savory-sweet contrast to the tartine. Cold brew was smooth and not bitter. Did the job on a warm day. One note: the line builds at peak times, so come early if you want a relaxed table. Otherwise a well-executed brunch I'd happily repeat.

5/5 coffee with fun seasonal flavors. Honey lavender was just the perfect amount of not too sweet. Small cafe which was not too busy during the weekday. Indoor lighting. Picturesque cafe with flowers overhead. Will have to go back to try pastries and the light lunch options!

4/5 only because the pistachio crossiant was a bit too sweet and a little soggy, which is understandable because of the cream but have had a bit crispier elsewhere. 5/5 for the breakfast sandwich which has this candied bacon that made me nostaglic of Asian jerky. Lavender honey latte was perfect not too sweet, could still taste the coffee.

I have heard good things about this place in NY but never got to go. So i saw this on my walk on a weekend trip to DC, i had to stop in. Got their signature latte with oat milk and it was so delicious.it was creamy and not too sweet. I wanted to try the tahini latte but did not feel adventurous enough. Our barista Sophie was a sweetheart because she also gave us a cookie on the house. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious with the coffee. I can't believe i waited this long to try it. The place is also nice to come and sit and get work done or chat with friends. Plenty of seating but i can tell they get busy.

Stopped here for breakfast while in DC and ordered the steak sandwich and omelette. Overall, food was definitely a 5/5. The bread on the sandwich was the perfect finish of toasted, but still had a good chew to it. The line was out the door, which I guess was a good sign that people liked the place, but turns out it was just because the service was super slow. I did come on a holiday weekend, which maybe is why it was super busy, but I felt like the line took forever to move and the workers didn't really have a huge sense of urgency to get everything out. All in all, not a terrible experience. I'm glad the food really made up for the wait and service. If you go, I'd just recommend not going during a peak hour or holiday weekend is all.

Their aesthetic is adorable! From the coffee cups to the decor, it's all so charming. It felt a bit cramped inside, though, since the tables were pretty close together. I enjoyed the maman breakfast sandwich - the avocado was creamy and the brioche bun was soft, however the candied bacon's sweetness was a tad overpowering (and I have a sweet tooth). The service wasn't the friendliest, especially when I asked a polite question. Still, I would come back to try their yummy looking pastries!

Had to stop by this place due to the reviews I saw. Loved the place! Beautifully decorated, buzzing with life and wow how many options of pastries, food, drinks and some gluten free options for the sweet tooth. I ordered a Honey Lavender Iced Matcha, my husband ordered the Regular Iced Matcha. For food we good a few gluten free goodies like the Vegan Zucchini Bread and Raspberry bar. The gluten free options come from another bakery but they are still super fresh. Their in house pastries looked so delicious and amI bet they were, but being gluten free myself I chose those options. Big place, on a main street so only street parking or coming in walking. Service was excellent and super fast. Definitely a place to come back and try some other goodies!

I love the variety of options on their menu! I stopped by for a very quick treat. The service was great & I loved the coffee! Can't wait to come back, sit down & give this place another try. I ordered: Sesame Tahini Latte w oatmilk -- 8/10 Vegan Zucchini -- 5/10 not that great, you could definitely make a better version at home. It was also really small & not worth the price. I should have gotten a different vegan treat.

Came here for a cookie, croissant, and a macchiato. The macchiato was pulled perfectly and had delicious flavor. The cookie was delicious, not too sweet, and the croissant was better than most other coffee shops. A great competitor to Tatte, I would definitely come back.

Before getting to the food, I'll first rate the interior excellent. It's big and open, and has a modern yet rustic design, which makes it an excellent atmosphere. They had an impressive list of wines and cocktails, but the draft beer selection was limited. Could use a bit more variety on tap, but I enjoyed the Imperial IPA nonetheless. As for the food; all of it was on the pricey sized given the quality and quantity served, but the salmon collar was by far my favorite -- followed by the chicken, although the chicken was a bit less meaty than I expected. The gem salad, the carrots and the steak fries were all very "meh," and the bisques seemed like small ciabatta buns rather than actual biscuits. All that aside, the biggest disappointment was unfortunately the ax ribeye - it wasn't cooked properly (despite asking for med-rate, depending on the bite, it ranged from medium to very rare), and it was really stringy and fatty - a major disappointment for a steakhouse. Deserts were delicious, I really enjoyed the ice cream cake and thought the peanut butter pie was good. Service was great, prompt and friendly. So I definitely wouldn't recommend this place as a statehouse based on my experience, but would consider coming for the salmon.

If I'm honest, they had me at French techniques and middle eastern flavors but it helped that a friend's friend recommended Yellow, and the Union area in general. To be honest, I almost skipped it entirely after seeing the line, but I'm glad I stuck it out. Although I couldn't make out the menu until my time to order I was proud of what I ended up with- the halawa honey, a smooth balanced coffee for the coffee lover seeking a sweet treat, and the smoked amba chicken pita. We went around 9:30 in the morning on a weekend and it was already packed but luckily we found seating as soon as we got done ordering at the counter. Definitely get here early! Even on a weekend, there were so many people chilling on their laptops. I saw one woman on a 4 seat table, taking her sweet time with just 1 drink and her laptop while so many people were waiting in line with their trays full of food. A no laptop policy on weekends is usually a good idea if they want people to sit back and relax rather than take their stuff to go. We got the Baklawa Mocha, Rose Milk Tea, Orange Blossom Croissant, Chocolate Halawa Pain Suisse and Breakfast Egg Pita. All the food was phenomenal - especially the breakfast egg pita. It was so fresh, flavorful and filling. I also loved the Chocolate Halawa Pain Suisse - if you love middle eastern desserts with a western twist, definitely get this! Both pastries were extremely flaky and fresh. The Rose milk tea was very fragrant and had a strong flavor of rose and cardamom. I did not like the Baklawa Mocha at all because it tasted very watered down. Would return for their food but will skip the drinks for sure!!

We ordered it medium rare, which our server specifically said was also the chef's recommendation, but it arrived somewhere between medium and medium well. More surprisingly, it was one of the toughest steaks I have ever eaten. At $49, that is unacceptable. The mashed potatoes were equally disappointing: bland, not buttery, and nothing like the rich French pommes purée I expected. We also ordered the carrots, but they never arrived. At least we were not charged for them. The crème brûlée was good, but a good crème brûlée could not redeem the meal. The service was attentive and polished. The restaurant was also nearly empty at 5 p.m. on a Friday, with only one other table occupied inside and a few people outside, which in hindsight may have been a warning sign. Beautiful room, decent service, deeply disappointing food. I would not return.
