Perfect cute Greek spot in South Florida. Tucked into a small corner, this place is incredible! Their food is so fresh, offering tons of dishes, all with fresh ingredients. Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and we had a great time. Their beef souvlaki was my favorite, and this honey pie is out of this world. Service is good, though can take a while to get food served since they're busy. Prices are higher than expected, but would recommend nonetheless.
Mandolin is absolutely the real deal for fun delicious dining in Miami. Before the food you are welcomed by an incredible array of plants and wooden tables that takes you out of the business of Miami into a much more fun picturesque dream. The outdoor space is absolutely marvelous and I love how much greenery there was around the restaurant. We went for our anniversary celebration and it was all we could have hoped for! The food was exquisite. The best being the wood oven roasted beech mushrooms which I could easily eat every day. The dumplings were also amazing and I loved the side bread the give you to sip up the sauce. Needless to say this was an amazing experience. It's a little hard to make reservations but if you can make it done miss it!
We went here on a girls trip to Miami and it was the perfect dinner spot! It's in what looks like an old home so is very cozy and ambience is rustic and inviting. Service was excellent! Loved the Turkish sampler, zucchini chips and stuffed tomato and peppers. The house bread was also delicious and served warm! They even threw a chocolate sorbet on the house for me which was decadent and perfectly not too sweet. My fave meal of the trip and would def come back. Be sure to make a reservation beforehand
We made a reservation for early afternoon Sunday. They were packed, so highly recommend a reservation as it did look like they were turning people away. Parking on the street is very limited and the nearest valet is a couple streets away. We were seated quickly and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We loved the prawns & the Ali Nazik! Seating was outside and it was a very hot day, although they have fans, towards the end & especially after eating the heat was uncomfortable
I mean Mandolin has been one of my favorite spots in the city for years now. From my college celebration dinner, to my first date with my fiancé to all the lovely celebrations in between and after it just always guarantees me a 5 star experience. But just when I thought it couldn't get any better, our server Christopher made our experience simply exceptional. We were a table of 6, including a baby and he just made us feel so comfortable, was super accommodating and even gave us a few goodies to try like the Waho crudo (Chef Alejandro's new addition to the menu which was simply phenomenal!). We were celebrating something very special and our table was chaotic, loud, and fun, adding 5 star service to that equation simply made our night so much more memorable. As for the food, the best part of course -- we got the lobster orzo, mezze platter, mante dumplings, chicken skewers, kofta, baked feta, crudos, vino, and a few sides for the table. Each dish was made to perfection. All my favorites! I just love it so much here!
I've seen so many people recommend this spot, so had to add it to our itinerary when I planned a trip back to Miami! First off, the outside is so cute and perfect spot for pictures! I also love that it's near the main part of the Design District, so you can easily shop around and then come to dinner afterwards. Me and my friend ordered the Wood-Oven Roasted Oyster Mushrooms for the appetizer to split and got the famous Whole Mediterranean Sea Bass for our entree. I never really order mushrooms as an appetizer, but I loved them! The dip was the perfect accompaniment as well. The fish was cooked great and very flaky. I also loved that they debone the fish for you! I'd say I wish the fish had a little more flavor, but that'd be the only comment. Service here was great! I'd definitely recommend making a reservation, since this spot was very packed when we visited.
I went to this restaurant with my friends in September during vacation and I can confidently say I think about this restaurant often. We ordered around 5-6 plates to share and almost everything we got tasted excellent. The flavors were bold, earthy, and everything came fresh. My favorite was the flatbread With the figs on top (I think it was a seasonal item) and the mantl dumplings. It started to rain heavily towards the end of our lunch so we decided to stay a little bit longer to keep us out of the rain. The staff ended up giving us a dessert for free! It was a honey pie I believe, and it tasted SO good. I'll for sure have to come back here next time I end up in Miami.
A taste of the Mediterranean in Miami. Everything we had was delicious. We ordered the Turkish sampler which included hummus, smoked eggplant dip, and a tomato/walnut "salsa" with a healthy serving of crudités. We were delighted by how many veggies were on the platter: Romain lettuce, cucumber, endive, radish, purple and orange carrots, and tomato. Such a delicious afternoon snack. We also tried the Ali Nazik: ground lamb atop an eggplant yogurt dip. Light and savory. Both dishes came with bread which came in handy to sop up the tomato relish and the yogurt from the Ali Nazik. My only regret is that we came for an afternoon snack not lunch or dinner to try a more substantial meal. Note: the seating is interesting. We were first seated right next to the patio entrance which was under a tree with many birds. After a near collision of bird droppings on our belongings, we asked for another table. Luckily, we were able to get seating in the back which was another courtyard. Much quieter.
Why I'll go back: Ali Nanik! You HAVE to order: Ali Nazik! Tony's Tip: Ali Nazik! (okay, I'll throw you another bone - ask to sit in the main dining area, not inside or on the side patio) The wife and I have been here on both of our trips to Miami this year. Mandolin was the first restaurant several people have mentioned over the years as a recommendation, so we were going to make that happen, even if it is a hike from Miami Beach. We had such a scrumptious lunch the first time, we knew we would be back. The setting is all outdoors, save for a handful of inside tables. A mix of basic tarps, scattered plants, and trees that were preserved within the confines of the space all create an ambience of calm and healthy eating (which may or may not be the case). This being our second visit, we went back to the well on a couple of items and tried two new ones. Speaking of wells (a loose segue), we decided to order a pitcher of white sangria. It was very refreshing, and despite our best efforts, we didn't get to the bottom (of the well...drink...segue over). You know when you crave a particular dish at a restaurant so much that it's the reason you want to go back? Not the atmosphere, not the service, not the broad cuisine, but THAT dish. Not every restaurant has that, but for me Mandolin's Ali Nazik is THAT dish. It's a warm preparation of ground lamb on top of smoked eggplant yogurt. You can eat it straight or spread it on pita. I guarantee if you're dining here because you like Mediterranean cuisine, this is the dish to get. Nearly everything at Mandolin is sent out as shareable.The tuna crudo was amazing - it was more like marinated tuna sashimi, and the capers flavored it up a touch. I also really liked the baked feta with cherry tomatoes (a repeat order), which came out sizzling. The Greek Village salad was competent. Last time, we ordered the zucchini chips (they were fine) and spicy lobster orzo (tasty, but a large and heavy dish). Prices are reasonable, service is efficient, and again, it's a nice outdoor setting. I am told that the scene at night is an even cooler vibe. That hasn't worked out for us timing-wise yet, but we'll definitely be back for another go-round...and some Ali Nazik!
Got here about 7pm on a week day as a walk in and was told there was going to be a 45 min wait but ended up being less time. My favorite dish were the sirloin meat balls. So tender and the sauce was great too. The village salad was good. The stuffed tomato and peppers came out kind of cold. Wouldn't order that again. The fries were ok. Overall it was just ok. Kind of disappointed bc I remembered it being so much better having come for lunch a few times previously. The outdoor is super pretty in the evening though.
Excellent Turkish Mezze (appetizer) with plenty of fresh vegetables. This appetizer is good for 4 people. The meatballs are more like cutlets are delicious specially if you ask them not to overcook - I have visited this restaurant twice and both times they cooked the hell out of these meatballs. The chicken kebab was also way overcooked and totally dry. The mousaka dish was delicious and highly recommended. Service was good and the ambiance is delightful. If you are visiting this restaurant be very specific that they should not overcook the food.
Highly recommend this place to everyone!!!! Amazing place with quality food and an amazing staff. Nicely decorated and with nice outdoor seating. Place is pricey but well worth it! You get what you pay for. The dumplings are to die for ( minced beef, garlic yogurt, aleppo pepper, burnt butter ). Calamari is perfectly fried and has perfect texture. The mussels are also my fav ( white wine, garlic, lemon, oregano). Please get the baklava for dessert ( one of the best I ever had ). Food is decent. Fresh seafood (seafood was all I ordered). Servers were friendly, but overall it was very typical. Come walk-in, definitely less than an hour. Lots of places nearby to walk around and enjoy before eating. Would recommend, portions slightly small, but overall delicious! read more

We had an amazing meal at Mandolin. The ambiance was incredible with the most beautiful outdoor patio. We started with some spanakopita and an heirloom salad with the creamiest feta. For dinner we shared some mantı dumplings and köfte. Both are classic Turkish dishes. As a Turk myself, I couldn't recommend this restaurant more. It's a true taste of some of the best Turkish and Greek cuisine I've had in the states! read more

I mean there is nothing I can share that hasn't already been shared about Mandolin. Staff is incredible. Food is so fresh. Patio is gorgeous. Located near Midtown/Designer District, Mandolin does a great job of teleporting you to Greece for a moment. We didn't have a reservation but showed up on a Friday within an hour of opening and were able to get seated in 15. Food came fast so be ready!! We got the following - all 10/10: Greek sampler White wine sangria Greek salad (I'm not the biggest tomato person but holy heck this salad was SO FRESH, it has me loving tomatoes now) Octopus (so simple and so fresh) Chicken kabob (side salad and rice were so complimentary, and chicken was JUICY) Best Greek restaurant I've ever been to. If you have a reservation for 12:45 when you get there they will ask you to wait in the street for over 40 minutes. There is no where to park at all and the valet is half a mile away in a very odd unsecured location. If I have a reservation why do I need to wait over 40 minutes? Also why do we all have to wait on the actual street when there are 25% open tables. Also, why is there no air conditioning inside the restaurant part? Also why are there only 2 bathrooms with 20 people on line? Also why are the bathrooms so dirty? Why is there so much oil in each dish? This is an all around no for me. Cueing is not a positive customer experience. read more

If you want to come, make a reservation because the wait can be brutal. I thought the food was good (Ali Nazik was my favorite), but not much wowed me (others also really likes the Moussaka). While the prices weren't crazy high, I also wouldn't say that they were great. read more

Meet my new fav spot to eat out on weekends in Miami. This place has a fantastic outdoor garden dining area, so special that I would consider it to be a unique GEM. The service staff are wonderful and attentive. The food here is amazing too. It feels freshly made with delicious flavors. I recommend the delish Ali Nazik (ground lamb over smoked eggplant yogurt) and the kofte (meatballs). The Mandolin Aegean Bistro is real a 5-Star restaurant. It's cute, romantic, charming, and relax with delicious food and top notch service. read more

Best restaurant ever (in Miami). The dips (samplers), beef souvlaki, chicken, whole fish, halloumi, Greek salad, hummus with short rib (special) lamb appetizer and the fries with yogurt - wow. Been 15 hours still haven't eaten since. Not much to say besides this is an amazing establishment and shoutout Danka our waitress and Jacky who sat us. They were great :). This cozy Greek restaurant reminds me of my trip to Mykonos years back. The weather was nice so we sat in the patio surrounded by large trees and some beautiful blooming orchids. The restaurant is painted white with Aegean blue accents; great ambiance. Ok, let's get to the food, yummy moussaka, grilled octopus, fried shrimp and an arugula salad were perfection. We finished our meal with baklava and a layered custard paired with Turkish coffee. If you go, parking can be a challenge. There is valet parking available. I recommend driving towards the more commercial area of the Design District and parking in one of the garages. read more

Definitely a MUST dine in Miami! They not only have amazing food but great ambiance. If you're lucky enough to visit on a cool Miami day you really hit the jackpot. We ordered a bunch of mezze and they did not disappoint. The Ali Nazik got us off to a great start. Followed by the Haloumi and grilled octopus. Word of advice, do not skip on the fries, so yum! If you're looking for a drink, the sangria is very light and refreshing, perfect any time of year in Miami! Make sure you make a reservation as they are pretty booked so you may find yourself waiting if you show up without one but definitely make sure you check it out. Super cute spot, it's like being in the Mediterranean, everything we tried was delicious and authentic. The service was awesome and ambiance was great. The only thing I have to complain about was that the table we sat at was in a corner outside which had no fan so we were literally sweating last night but we noticed when we stood up to leave, other areas had fans and breeze so I guess we just got seated at the one wrong table lol. Other than that, everything was amazing, I can't wait to try more things off the menu, everything was so tasty and fresh. Make sure you make a reservation because this place does get full! There is street parking available and you can pay by phone. read more
I thought this place was adorable! We sat outside in the patio. I wouldn't have thought it would be comfortable to do this during lunch in July but there are fans everywhere so it was fine. We had the Turkish mezze (great), the chicken kebobs with a spinach subbed in (chicken was dry but the spinach was excellent) & the cheese saganaki (delicious). Our Greek Peleponesee wine was delicious but I wish the glass would've been chilled first to help it stay cold a little longer since we were outside The service was attentive & everything was very good overall. I have been wanting to bring my mom here for the longest. Finally we both had a Monday off and was able to reserve a table. Service was great and the food was delicious. We particularly liked the baked feta, mouska, and honey pie! Chris, our server, was very attentive. The moment he realized my mom only spoke Spanish he adapted quickly and went out of his way to explain the dishes to her in Spanish. He also adjusted an alcoholic drink after I ask him for drinks that didn't include alcohol. He was very kind and made our experience even better. I honestly cannot wait to come back again. Also, parking is tough so I suggest to park in the museum garage. It is a short walk to the restaurant. However if it is a rainy day it could complicate things. read more

The ambiance, location, the food. First time visiting and surely coming back. Appetizers, main dish and desserts were way too yummy. From the beets, to the queen bass fish, and the almond cake; everything was made to perfection. We were lucky enough that although it had rained earlier in the day, no humidity was felt in the open patio area. A slight breeze accompanied by an Efes Pilsener beer, helped keep the mood on cool. We had a lunch reservation at 12, and we were seated as soon as the restaurant opened. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and our food came out extremely quickly. While all of the dishes we ordered were delicious, we especially loved the manti dumplings and the stuffed zuchini. I walk by this restaurant almost every day and there's usually a line outside, so definitely make a reservation in advance and be prepared for a delicious meal! read more

Really loved my experience. Visited for dinner on a Sunday night and had an amazing time. For reservations, if you don't see the time you like online I would call and make it over the phone. We started with the roasted cauliflower, saganaki, and grilled octopus. I'm not an octopus person but it was actually very good. Almost tasted like fresh fish. The cauliflower was so good. Would have never thought to combine raisins and almonds with cauliflower, so yummy!! Lastly as a main entree I had the spicy mandolin kebab. It's really big and very spicy! but so flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend. Also, order the pitcher of white wine sangria. Don't do a glass. Trust me, you'll want the pitcher! For dessert I had the honey pie, it was good. Not too sweet BUT I tried my friends chocolate Greek cake and it was better. read more
