It's honestly one of the best crepes I've ever had! I've also tried the "Chocolate Lovers Crepe" with brownie and chocolate fudge, which is perfect for chocolate lovers. They also have savory options. The place is small and usually busy, but service is quick, and you can watch your crepe being made. Definitely a must try!!!

Creperie on Ludlow St came up in my search and we happened to be down that way on Sunday. I'm also a huge ice cream and gelato fan, but husband is lactose intolerant so he prefers non-dairy. Last year we discovered the amazing vegan ice cream at Orchard Grocery, but I wanted the real thing this trip and he apparently hadn't wanted a frozen treat at all so wouldn't do Orchard Grocer for himself and a different place for me. Happy medium? Share a good crêpe! We found it at Crêperie. SO many choices, many similar to ones we loved in France. Extensive selection, but it didn't take long to decide on the apple-walnut-caramel crêpe to share, costing not much more than 2 ice creams. We watched the lone young man as he poured batter onto the round griddle to just the perfect thinness; as he expertly flipped it; as he loaded on plenty of apple compote, plenty of walnuts, and gently squeezed caramel sauce. Then he folded it into a neat rectangle, scooped it into an exactly the same size pan, flipped the whole thing over onto another griddle and left it to heat while he made a crêpe for the person behind us. At exactly the right moment (was he watching the clock? or maybe he's just THAT good!), he flipped it over, slid the crêpe onto a plate, artistically drizzled more caramel sauce on top and then gently shook some powdered sugar over it. Handed me 2 forks and knives and we sat on stools at the counter for our Sunday afternoon treat! Excellent! They have several savory crêpes (in Paris, those were usually buckwheat crêpes called galettes) and many sweet ones. Unfortunately it's more of a takeout place, with just the few stools at a counter inside, and a couple of small tables outside. I'm still looking for a genuine Parisian-style restaurant with a good selection of galettes and crêpes - but this was a great find and I definitely recommend it to you!

The pesto chips by Tartuflanghe that Eataly carried were 35% off. It was somewhat pricy even after the discount. It was originally $10.99 and with the discount it was brought down to $7.19. The pesto chips were tempting but I decided to not get them. The Grisbi Hazelnut Cream by Vicenzi was really good when I tried them out. They were mini hazelnut cream filled pies. I also got the Oishii strawberries, which were very cute and neatly packaged in the plastic container. They were really fresh and bright red. I never had these before and it was nice to try them for the first time. The bathrooms here were very clean but very busy with a line. Mango mango was one of my favorite dessert spots on my most recent NYC trip. I personally love sago and coconut bases so this place was a must try. The establishment is quite spacious and surprisingly there were no other patrons inside on a Friday afternoon. Upon giving us menus the server informed us that they did not have any mango ice cream. This was surprising as the place is literally called mango mango with many desserts featuring mango ice cream. Though it did not matter to me as I feel mango actually overpowers the coconut flavor that I crave. The two of us ordered a sago with coconut juice, red bean and green tea ice cream and a sago with coconut juice, grass jelly and assorted fruits. Both were very tasty, the coconut juice definitely had a good amount of coconut flavor. The ice cream had a slushies consistency at the bottom because of how cold it was and gave it a nice texture. For the price point this was offered at i was definitely satisfied with it given the amount of other higher priced dessert spots in NYC that mostly have aesthetics instead of flavor as the selling point. I would have liked more coconut juice in the dessert and though the cups they were served in are cute, a small bowl probably would have worked better. But I suppose they use the cups for better presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed the green tea ice cream combo and the fruit one wasnt bad either. I went to this Japanese restaurant called Ise near Mango and decided to have some dessert before I leave. The interior design is beautiful and food there is decent but the service is terrible. I went to Mango Mango for dessert this evening and even though it's not packed, service was pretty slow. Not just that, you can sense the waiter has a rude attitude. I'm not sure if he was in a bad mood or something but if you're there to work, you don't give attitude to customers. The price is pretty high as well, your bill can go up to $20 for ordering two things (not complaining because I know other dessert places are around the same price). This experience is completely different from when the store just opened, you need to upgrade your customer service. read more

Mango Mango Dessert was a great stop for something sweet. I got the special mango juice sago & pomelo with mango ice cream, and it was really good and super filling for a dessert spot. The flavors were refreshing and definitely hit if you're a mango lover. The only reason I'm docking a star is that some of the mango pieces had slightly different tastes -- a few felt not quite ripe, while others leaned a bit overripe. The flavors were not potent and tasted diluted (the ice melted so fast and it fell apart so fast that the iced water probably overdiluted the mango pomelo flavors). I still prefer the kakigoris in japan & the best one I have eaten in NYC is from Tonchin (their kakigoris are amazing and you can taste the fruit flavors and the ice doesn't melt that fast or fall apart). The yuzu matcha lemonade drink was very refreshing & you also taste the yuzu and matcha flavors. This was my favorite item out of the 2. Friendly staff & has indoor seating.

I won't lie, these umami flavors are definitely a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing, but if you're a die-hard Lee Kum Kee fan like I am, it's fun to try! ＊Umami Treat Ice Cream $8.5 I use 蠔油 (oyster sauce) almost every day, but I never thought it'd work in ice cream! It added an umami depth that made the creamy ice cream taste even richer. Imagine miso caramel or soy caramel ice cream but even more umami. Once it started getting a little too savory, the sweet red bean and waffle cone balanced everything out. ＊Umami Soy Sauce Thai Tea $7.5 Thai tea topped with a milk foam infused with 頭抽 (first draw soy sauce). They used the reduced sodium version, so it added a subtle umami flavor without tasting salty. The space is very big for a business in the East Village with mostly a waiting area. 4-5 seats are up front & they set up a few plastic chairs on the side. On a 90°F day, the shop was filled with customers & groups. A stantion at the door with directions for 2 lines would help manage things better.
