    Veggie Plate

last week i was trying to find a halal butcher. after trying two different spots that google maps said were open (turned out one was closed for renovation & the other was completely just... obliterated), i found goodies market. while walking down the hill there, i walked past this place. i was starving, so i said "after i shop, i will get lunch from here." i didn't realize it but this place is primarily cash. they take doordash and uber eats orders tho so if you don't have cash you can just order pickup thru the app. you can even eat it there if you want. the inside is decorated cutely with pictures and articles about beirut & lebanon in general. it's also very neat! the owner kai was super nice. i was telling him my escapades trying to find halal meat in seattle... he agreed that it's rough out here. after that, he got to work on my food. i got the veggie plate. goodness gracious it was so delicious. i had one last-minute errand after i received my food so it was kinda cold by the time i got to it, but it was still so delicious. i immediately went for the warak 3nab and even cold they were mouth-watering. i ate about half of the plate and saved the rest for my lunch. so worth it. next time i will actually try the man'oushe! if you're in lake city, check this place out.

**vegetarian review** This place is such a gem!!! It's right above goodies Mediterranean store which I frequent. The prices are so reasonable for the high quality food!!! I got the flayfieh flatbread and the spinach and cheese flatbread. They were both so fresh and delectable. I also got the falafel sandwich and baba gabouj which came with a huge fresh pita. I thought we had ordered too much food for 2 but it was so delicious that we quickly finished it all!! Note this place is cash only.

If you like great food at a great price, I highly recommend checking this place out. They're a little hard to find once you arrive but take the alley/ramp down into the parking lot and you can park for free. BRING CASH, as they are an only cash business. They are attached to a middle eastern grocery store which I recommend you also check out for some awesome goodies. Being Lebanese, I've tried many manoushes and I can say this one is phenomenal!! Super light, fluffy and flavorful. They definitely deserve more recognition! The service was also wonderful!

What a great find! My friend and I were excited to check out the attached grocery store when we noticed the restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Amazing menu options, we decided to get a few things to share. Plenty of seating. We loved everything we tried and are already talking about coming back. Remember to bring cash but they also have an atm if you forget.

This is a 4.5 star but I rounded down a little. I was hoping to stop by soon so I can confirm my rating but I haven't done that :) so I will write a review now and update later. Parking is a little difficult but not too bad. We got the "pizza" and the cheesy fries. I originally wanted to get the falafel and the Greek fries but the cheesy fries sounds tempting so we got that instead. The "pizza" was really good, I really enjoyed everything about it. The cheesy fries was just ok for me. It was a lot but the flavor wasn't amazing. Everything ingredients was good but it didn't work well together in my opinion. I definitely want to come back to try their falafel and Greek fries. Definitely come for the pizza though that was really good

Tried it because of high recommendations . Veggie plate was basically good, but baba ganoush was way too salty.... Inedible.

Highly recommend the three dip (current seasons is beet and it's my fav) with the flat bread. The flat bread comes out steaming. Trumpet mushroom is Smokey and juicy. Lamb comes in braised form and kebab both really good The soft serve swirl has the perfect texture and flavor. Would come back again!

However after we expressed that we didn't want to wait that long, we were told that if we wanted outdoor seating they could actually seat us in less than half an hour. We chose the outdoor seating option and took a quick stroll in the quiet neighborhood before coming back. Our server told us that Homer's plates are meant to be family style and shared so their general recommendation is 1 large plate or 2 small plates per person. For us, we ordered the Set of top 3 spreads, lamb ragu on tahini and we were served with 5 pieces of warm pita. We also ordered Grilled Pork with Stinging nettles, raw albacore tuna with taramasalata, and smoked and shaved kohlrabi. Our server warned us that the pork was going to be on the fatty side but we were still surprised by how fatty it was. The spreads for the pita were amazing as usual-- their seasonal flavors taste amazingly fresh. Our table wanted to order more pita and when someone came by to take the empty plate they asked if we wanted more which we did let them know but even by the time we finished all the plates, we never got the additional pita so we just took it off. The Kohlrabi was an amazingly refreshing palette cleanser before the pork-- super light and refreshing. After we finished our meal we grabbed some soft serve from the window and wow, for 7$ it's quite a lot of ice cream! The flavors that were offered when we were there was Dark Chocolate and Kettlekorn. I sampled the swirl and the fusion of the saltiness of the kettle korn, the slight bitter and sweetness of the dark chocolate was immaculate. Final thoughts: very cool experience, inside I could see the open kitchen and the stone wood fired oven and the ingredients tasted amazing. However it is a little inconvenient that it's walk in unless you're a party of 6 since the lines and wait can get incredibly long. It's also difficult to find parking in the area. Very neat experience!

I got a build-my-own saj wrap with the mushroom base saj $6, sumac chicken $7, tomato $1.5, cucumber $1.5, pickled turnip $1, and a side of hot sauce $2. The saj bread itself tasted good, but got soaked through by the juice of the chicken and became very soggy. We walked to a park 10 minutes away to eat the wraps and the wraps were bending. The ingredients are fresh but nothing particularly stood out. I didn't quite taste the mushroom on the wrap, and on top of that, I got charged $2 for the hot sauce, but never tasted it in the wrap or found it on the side. My partner got the falafel saj wrap which was overall ddcent, but he also found the saj bread quite soggy, yet the falafels were on the dry side.

This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.
