Maple & Ash, can't get much sexier than this! The newest Steakhouse is now open in Seaport called Maple & Ash. They have locations in Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas and opening NY sometime this year. I was so happy to book this restaurant a few weeks in advance for my husband's birthday. We felt like Royals dining here. Once you walk in you are greeted by a host on the first floor who checks you in and then says to us: head to the 2nd floor. After checking in again with the hostess on the 2nd floor we are graciously walked to our table. The restaurant is enormous with additional seating outside which was an option but we declined due to the humidity. We sat down at our table which was not far from the kitchen. John our server stopped over to greet us and to give my husband this cool menu that says "Happy F*cking Birthday Kevin." We both loved it! Then another server came over asking what kind of water we wanted to drink. After a few minutes go by, John who has also worked for Barbara Lynch asked what we wanted to drink. He had an excellent personality and took very good care of us throughout the night. You could tell the service here is top notch. I ordered a dirty martini which was just ok, and my husband ordered Multiple Personalities, a tequila based drink. WOW, it was delicious. John our server was very theatrical but in a great way. He knew how to impress us for sure and I could not praise how gorgeous the restaurant was, I felt like we were in another country. For starters we ordered the Bread Service which I highly recommend and then we shared the Wedge which was also good. For entrees, we also shared their 16oz Winterfrost Wagyu NY Strip with Asparagus and Potatoes Au Gratin. I will say we were a bit disappointed in the Wagyu. It was not entirely explained to us until after we ordered but it was NOT your typical A5 from Japan it was from another state in the U.S. It was ok, we have had better Steak before. The Asparagus was also not great which was disappointing. We enjoyed the Potatoes Au Gratin. For dessert, we shared the Creme Brulee and sang a quick Happy Bday. They do have a Sommelier on staff which I always appreciate. We ordered a very expensive Barbaresco with our dinner which was excellent. I will say this restaurant is beautiful and sexy, but also very expensive and we were a bit disappointed in the Steak we ordered. Really disappointed with my experience at Maple & Ash. I had been dying to try the Boston location after going to the Arizona location, so I had pretty high expectations going in. Our second waiter for the night Rafael, was super nice and definitely the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the food was nowhere near what I expected, especially considering we spent around $600, tip included. The drinks were good and honestly helped make up for some of the experience, but it took over 30 minutes for our cocktails to come out but that was due to bar service and not our waitress and waiter for the night even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. I do want to mention every time we ordered a drink. It was taking 30 minutes plus to come out each time. We probably had six drinks in total if not more I think and it was a little shocking that it was taking a long time for the drinks to come out We also never got the complementary walk in drinks that everyone is always talking about on tik-tok. The oysters were fine, but you can't really go too wrong with oysters. Unfortunately, the lamb chops weren't that good and the steak came out burnt, which was really disappointing & my chicken was alright. For the amount of money we spent, I expected the food to be exceptional. Instead, it was honestly just not very good and definitely did not feel worth the price. I really wanted to love Maple & Ash, but unfortunately I don't think I would come back. Spending $600 on a meal and leaving feeling disappointed is not something I expected from a restaurant with this reputation. Ambiance was beautiful but they need to fix the lighting in the restroom. I came for a birthday dinner and this will be the first restaurant I think of for any special occasion. What's truly impressive is how deeply hospitality is embedded into the experience, in addition to amazing food. We were greeted with a complimentary cocktail, setting the tone for an evening where every detail felt intentional. The staff was polished and effortlessly attentive. One of our steaks wasn't cooked to the chef's standard, and before it ever reached our table, they decided to remake it. There was no awkward conversation or compromise. While we waited, they brought out a mini lobster roll on brioche topped with caviar, which we didn't expect, but definitely enjoyed and appreciated. The food itself was outstanding. The milk bread is an absolute must-order. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and while the whipped potatoes and asparagus were both excellent accompaniments, the bread, tuna crudo, and lobster rolls were the stars besides the perfectly cooked steak. The atmosphere is perfect for a special night out, and the strongly recommended dress code helps maintain the vibes. This is their newest location and our second one visited, with Chicago being the other. We went for Tower Hour which was a good deal with some different menu options. The seafood tower was great and I loved that you can add on the pasta course. The halibut bites were bland and cold upon arrival and I instantly regretted them. Loved the lycee cocktail though. Our service was excellent and we were having such a great time we moved into the main dining area. My filet was sadly also bland and nothing to write home about. Overall, service and ambiance were very characteristic of Maple and Ash but there were too many misses on the menu for me to be impressed enough to come back- especially considering the price tag. read more

This place has an INSANE happy hour special- a broiled seafood tower for two (or if you're me- for me and me haha) for only $49!! Such an exceptional price for king crab legs, scallops, mussels, and clams in a butter and chili sauce. It was seriously so so so so great! Apparently people get pasta to eat with the sauce but since I'm gluten free I did not but I think that would be super delish. Beautiful space and bar/cocktail area. Would be great option for a date. Went two nights in a row because of how good it is! The seaport was missing an upscale restaurant with a good vibe (including great music) and good food to match. Maple & Ash is the perfect addition. The first night, we did the "I don't give a F*@k just feed me" which was a 4 course dinner that the waiter selected for us. To start, every table receives a vegetable crudite and a welcome drink which is a nice touch to get the night started! Then our courses started with the tuna crudo, then seafood tower (it also came with mac and cheese which they mixed into the chili oil in the seafood tower), then the sesame ceasar salad and dry aged meatballs, followed by bone-in ribeye, mashed potatoes, halibut and the spicy alla vodka and finally finished with the sundae tower. Fair warning, it is a A LOT of food so come hungry but everything was really delicious. Small critiques like too much Caesar on the salad, little too much salt on the ribeye, olives in the meatballs wasn't my favorite and the spicy alla vodka was a little too spicy but overall, I could look past the small things for how good the quality was. The second night I got the chicken Milanese which was very tasty and chocolate cake for dessert. After trying many things on the menu and how friendly/ accommodating the staff is and the upscale fun vibe, I will definitely be coming back a lot! What is there not to like about this place. Okay jk, I remembered one thing. Let's start there, really just the burrata. It's good, nice presentation, but lacks a lot of flavor and burrata in general! Please give a more generous serving. Other than that... what else is there not to love about this place! We came to celebrate my sister's birthday. We didn't set up right observation, but honestly didn't have to wait longer than 15 minutes to be seated. We had Chris who cater to us and he was amazing. He made this experience so enjoyable he gave us some good recommendations. we also had Rafael and Francisco catered to us along our dining experience they were very inviting and amicable chef Jorge if I could give him his own rating, it would also be five stars. We had an amazing experience at Maple & Ash. Our waiter was incredible - I forgot his name, but I told him he looked like IShowSpeed, and if his manager sees this, he deserves all the praise for making our night so enjoyable. We ordered the "I Don't Give a F*@k" menu, and every single dish was delicious (and way more food than the two of us could finish). Don't skip the bread!! I still think about it. My family and I recently celebrated a birthday at Maple & Ash Boston with a party of four, and overall we had a very enjoyable experience that we would absolutely repeat. I will start by saying the reservation system is a disaster that needs fixing. Went from no availability to getting emails every hour; even while we were sitting at the table at dinner. The evening started on a high note. Upon arrival, the hostess checked us in on an iPad before we even reached the second-floor dining room via the elevator and we were greeted by name when the elevator doors opened. It was a seamless, modern, and efficient process that immediately gave the impression of a well-run operation. The starter cocktail was so sweet it could rot your teeth. No thanks but then the French onion dip "from chef" was extremely good with very fresh veggies. For starters, we ordered the Dry-Aged Meatballs, Fluffy Milk Bread, and Sesame Caesar Salad. The Dry-Aged Meatballs were, without question, the best meatballs I've ever had. Served with caramelized tomato sauce, sweet peppers, olives, and confit garlic, the flavors were simply unreal. Every component added another layer of complexity and richness. This wasn't just a good appetizer--it was one of the most memorable dishes I've had in a very long time. The Fluffy Milk Bread was equally impressive. The warm Japanese-style pull-apart buns, served with butter, chives, sea salt, and everything spice, were incredibly soft, buttery, and addictive. Honestly, I would return to Maple & Ash just for the milk bread and meatballs alone. The Sesame Caesar Salad was fresh, crisp, and a great balance to the richer starters. For entrées, our table ordered the Fire-Roasted New England Lobster, Filet Mignon, Bluefin Tuna Steak, and a special CAB steak priced at $150. The lobster was cooked perfectly and was sweet, tender, and flavorful. However, the menu doesn't indicate the size, and while it arrived as two halves, the overall portion felt smaller than expected for a main course. Excellent quality, but not particularly filling on its own. The Filet Mignon was cooked beautifully and delivered exactly what you would expect from a high-end steakhouse. The Bluefin Tuna Steak was fresh and expertly prepared. The special CAB steak was a standout and felt worthy of the premium price point. The sides were the weakest part of the meal. The sautéed spinach simply wasn't very good and was the only dish we sent back. To the restaurant's credit, our server immediately offered to replace it with another side. We selected the Mac & Cheese, which turned out to be excellent--rich, creamy, and one of the better side dishes of the evening. The Oyster Mushrooms were also disappointing. The lemon flavor was overwhelming and completely dominated the dish, making it difficult to enjoy the mushrooms themselves. On the positive side, the Hand-Cut Fries were outstanding and perfectly crispy as ordered. For dessert, we chose the Make Your Own Sundae. The concept was fun and fit a birthday celebration nicely, but the execution felt a little odd. The sundae starts at $25 with a choice of vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry ice cream. Additional bowls cost $6 each, but they don't come with additional toppings or accompaniments, which seemed unusual. We also found some of the topping selections puzzling. For example, peanut butter sauce was offered, but caramel sauce was not. There were no crushed Oreos or some of the classic sundae staples you might expect. We still had fun creating our desserts, but it felt like another area that could use some refinement. One thing that surprised us was that the restaurant clearly knew we were celebrating a birthday, yet there was no candle, birthday acknowledgment at dessert, or even a small complimentary scoop of ice cream. At this price point and considering the occasion-driven nature of the restaurant, that felt like a missed opportunity. Our server, Justin H., was excellent throughout the evening. He was polished, professional, knowledgeable, and handled the spinach issue perfectly. His level of service elevated the experience. Maple & Ash has only been open a short time, and while there are a few kinks to work out regarding portions, side dishes, and some hospitality touches, the foundation is extremely strong. The atmosphere is energetic and upscale, the service is professional, and some dishes--particularly the Dry-Aged Meatballs and Fluffy Milk Bread--are truly exceptional. We would absolutely return, but now with a better understanding of portion sizes and what to order. And when we do come back, the meatballs and milk bread will be non-negotiable. Not everything has to be over the top in way or another. Classic is not bad and frankly it is classic for a reason. I would rate this about a 3.5 right now. Hopefully they make some improvements in regards to service. Food- 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Service - 2/5 We had an 8pm reservation in the lounge and did the dine out menu. We were not sat at a table until almost 9pm and had to wait at the bar despite the reservation. The food took quite a while to come out but was really good! Scallops were amazing and the tuna tartare. My main issues were about the quality of service I would expect at a place like this. We had to keep asking for water, and at one point the server filled 2 out of the 4 of our water glasses and said she would be back with more water. She returns and fills the water of two other tables before coming back to our table to fill the glasses of the other 2 of us. Two of the people at my table are gluten free, and we had to ask THREE people (our server, a busboy, and the manager) whether the crème brûlée was GF. None of them knew the answer and had to ask the kitchen. They also ran out of one of the desserts and our server was very sweet and brought us the ice cream tower instead. I want to clarify that our server was overall very sweet and went above and beyond for us - I think she was just overwhelmed with all the tables in the lounge. The fault to me seems to be on management in regards to staffing better and also training so that the staff is fully versed on the menu especially around dietary restrictions. Hopefully as they get settled this will improve. They also charge an "amenity" fee which I highly doubt actually goes to the kitchen staff. They charged it at the bar when we only ordered drinks (no food) and then again at our table for the dinner bill. There was also no explanation of what it was and I had to ask someone. "Amenity fee" as noted on the bill- it doesn't say anything about being for the staff. read more

I ordered a glass of Bailly Lapierre Brut Rose which is $18x My friends joined and we went to dinner, however the lounge server does not know her menu , and we were charged the $40 Canard Duchene Rose , serious discrepancy, always repeat the guests order to ensure the proper item is ordered! Not good start. We paid the bill without comment to her, we were celebrating my birthday and didn't want to ruin the vibe, but definitely put off at lack of care to what we ordered, otherwise I like the lounge area, better training needed. Dining room very attractive, welcome cocktail nice touch, I do not drink cocktails, but it's a nice touch. The caviar bump a nice touch...love caviar! Our server was pleasant, explained menu, the Sommelier is a touch aggressive, just because we are girls doesn't mean we do not know wine, we are restaurant industry, and European... we are born drinking wine. I Ordered a California cab that would match our food choices, and please us all. Ribeye was perfection, lamb chops were fatty a bit disappointing, The tableside dessert flambé is nice presentation and delicious. Another amateur snaffu my friend ordered the hot and dirty martini, which arrived without garnish and wasn't very spicy at all, at $22-25 for a cocktail, make sure it has the garnish and is pretty, it's part of the cost. Ok, our first visit, overall score 3.3. ... Not a fan of start off vodka cocktail. But that just me Wine had a very nice lite Barolo, surprised it wasn't deep but nice 5.0 Apps. King Crab & Prawns. Excellent ... 5.0 Yummy Steak , Bone in filet mignon .. and ...a regular filet mignon. Tempture on both perfect , but over seasoned, over salted, , took away from beef taste 3.0 - at best. Disappointed. The pasta pillows - 1.9 for us , just too rich Chocolate cake- why put coffee beans on it or potentially in it?? 2.0 Come back... ? .....the music was a bit loud and not of our liking for a relaxed evening. Kinda dance music...why? Service by Chris 5.0 With tip it was around 630.00 to much for what it was. The ambience was amazing. Both bartenders were amazing. The steak and mushrooms were under seasoned. Seafood tower was amazing and the Pillow of love was amazing. The timing was definitely off. I had to wait more than 45 minutes for the transition of appetizers to main course. I will definitely return and give the steak another chance. Celebrated a birthday dinner at Maple+Ash and it was excellent! Service was wonderful, wine pairing was also perfect and sommelier was very knowledgeable. We ordered the IDGAF menu which they state as 4 courses until they bring out like 10 different dishes - so maybe 4 are "main"but you better come hungry because each is excellent. The grilled seafood was a high point with chili oil and then they add in pasta to sop up the leftover sauce at the end - amazing. We had rib eye and whole sea bass. Nice vibe, busy bar when we were leaving which also looked like a great place to hang out. I would highly recommend and we will be back. read more

Being lucky enough to attend the pre-opening event, I found once again, it was an amazing experience. The welcoming atmosphere, incredible location, and the food were all beyond expectations! The staff were all accommodating, fun and seasoned. They know what they're doing. Every course was delicious. Shout out for the meatball appetizer!! Wow! Everything served was an absolute delight. I was extremely disappointed with my experience. When I arrived at the restaurant, I specifically confirmed with a manager that my sister would be arriving shortly with my 6-month-old nephew in a stroller. I was told, "That should be fine, we've had strollers in here before." However, when my sister and nephew arrived about 10 minutes later, we were suddenly told that strollers were not allowed. To make matters even more frustrating, an employee made a comment under their breath saying, "This isn't a daycare," which was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. We were then told that the stroller policy had "changed last week." What makes this especially confusing is that the lengthy pre-arrival message we received went into great detail about the restaurant's dress code, atmosphere, and how "chic" and "elegant" the establishment is, yet there was absolutely no mention of a stroller restriction or any policy regarding children. In fact, the restaurant's website states that children are welcome. Had we been informed of this policy from the start, we could have planned accordingly. Instead, we were given conflicting information and made to feel unwelcome because we had a baby with us. There is a big difference between enforcing a policy and treating guests with respect, and unfortunately this experience fell short on both counts. After being turned away, we ended up walking out and heading to Umbria in the North End. Despite not having a reservation and arriving with a baby stroller, we were welcomed without any issue and seated right away. The contrast in hospitality was striking and only highlighted how poorly this situation was handled. Mind you this was all on a Wednesday at 6 pm. read more
