Recently had an amazing dinner at Eddie Merlot's during a recent trip to Boston. The kind where after every bite I had to close my eyes and savor the moment and flavor. When I travel, I love trying new restaurants, but I also appreciate having a spot you can trust to deliver a consistently great experience. Eddie Merlot's checks that box. The atmosphere in the Seaport District location is upscale but comfortable, the service was attentive and welcoming, and the food was exactly what you hope for from a classic steakhouse. Ben was our server for the evening and he provided great recommendations and the perfect pacing of food and service. Love establishments where the manager walks around to each of the tables to check on patrons, Felix stopped by throughout our service to make sure everything was good! All staff I came into contact with were very personable. For apps had the sweet and spicy shrimp, charbroiled oysters, and crabcakes. I really enjoyed the shrimp as they were not only recommendations from our server Ben, but from Felix, the general manager. The sauce was slightly tangy and slightly spicy and had a nice texture from the crunch. The crab cakes were very meaty versus fillers which always makes me happy. The charbroiled oysters had a nice salty creaminess to them! Steaks were perfectly cooked. We had the 8oz Wagyu filet, one was Oscar style (topped with crab) and the other was Maxwell style (topped with lobster--because we're in Boston, so made even more sense!). When I say these melted in my mouth, legitimately was soooooo good. The sides were rich and flavorful, and we opted to offset our steaks with some veggies. We ordered the wild mushrooms and the Eddies's Brussels sprouts with bacon. Both paired well with our steaks!!! The cocktails were a great way to bring everything together. Then we closed out our dinner with the creme brûlée. At first we weren't going to have dessert and then it turned to us being a part of the clean plate club. It was that good! For me, travel is about collecting experiences, not things -- and this dinner was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. If you're in the Seaport area and want a reliable spot for a great meal and excellent service, this is a solid choice.

So delicious!! We went here last night for my fiancé's birthday and everything was very impressive. It was a Monday so the place wasn't busy at all. Our server was very friendly and efficient. I was absolutely in love with the bread, the French onion soup, and the shrimp and scallop entree. I was very excited that they had lobster mashed potatoes, but the lobster had a sweeter seasoning to it that wasn't my favorite. It was fantastically cooked and the mashed potatoes were so soft though. We were treated to a raspberry sorbet for his birthday. We aren't sweets people so sorbet is the perfect light option that we really appreciated!

We sat at the bar on a Thursday evening at 4. Alejandro at the bar was outstanding. Service was excellent. He made some amazing espresso martinis. The bar is large with plenty of seating. We ordered ahi tuna wantons, filet mignon potstickers and a crab avocado cocktail to eat. These were on the happy hour menu and a great value. This is close walk to the Omni Hotel and would highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful dinner for my dad's surprise 70th birthday. The staff at Eddie Merlot's is extremely accommodating and kind. From the apps to the entrées to the dessert, everything was on point. We ordered everything from fish to steak. The sea bass melted in my mouth. The bone in ribeye was very good. The spicy shrimp appetizer is delicious. Everything on the seafood tower tasted good just lacks presentation. Carrot cake is huge.

Beautiful restaurant (and bar) with a great happy hour menu. Lots of great choices and I landed on the FILET MIGNON SLIDERS. The were absolutely delicious. Tender with a tangy kick and boatload of fries. Top that off with a WOODFORD RESERVE OLD FASHIONED and you have a great start to the evening.

Highly recommend Eddie Merlot's! The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is gorgeous inside. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave some great recommendations for dessert. The carrot cake WAS SO GOOD! Definitely get it when you come here. I'm already planning my next trip here and my mouth is watering just thinking about that carrot cake!

Classic steakhouse that serve decent food. We got the lunch menu - the crab and corn bisque and steak was great with mushroom. The calamari was alright, not the best that I've had. The service was a little slow but our server was friendly. There are ample seatings and the interior felt like a normal steakhouse. Value: 7/10 Food: 7.5/10 Experience: 7/10 Service: 7/10

Second time is a charm! Eddie Merlot's is one of those Boston restaurants that you frequent over and over again. It's probably one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been in. This is our second time here. We stopped in for a drink and app. after shopping at the Snowport. We sat at the almost empty and very quiet bar. I ordered their Gruet Sparkling Brut from New Mexico. Probably one of my faves! My hubby had their Daou Cabernet, another favorite of mine. We shared a wedge which they kindly split. We then shared their sliders from the lounge menu which is very inexpensive compared to their full menu. Our bartender Grace was such a joy. Thanks Eddie Merlot's for your gorgeous bar and comfy seats, impeccable service and food and good times. We will be back again soon!

I came here for New Year's eve and I did not have the best experience. The employees were Unaccommodating (could be cause management not sure). Also the servings here are very small so be prepared to order a few things to get full. Someone in my party has an allergy to sesame seeds and it was not listed on the appetizer we ordered and instead of attempting to make it right the manager said we are stuck with it and they wont remake it or let us get another appetizer without paying for it. I felt very unwelcome there and felt like a bother anytime I asked for anything. The food itself was decent but for the service and atmosphere there I probably would never return nor recommend this to others. The place itself is gorgeous but has a very unwelcoming feel to it. The server we had was nice and tried her best but I think it's an issue with management.

A generous 2 stars because the food was good. Not great, but good. Service was a complete disaster. She was friendly and nice, but she was not anywhere near seasoned enough, or trained well enough, for this caliber restaurant. Or, at least for what they want this place to be. The bartender was also not very well-trained, and drinks took forEVER to get to us. Even the wine, which I ordered during starter, but that arrived half way through my steak. I almost sent it back, but just took it. Finally, the place is decent looking, but it was ridiculously hot, in middle of July. I asked manager what was going on and was told the building had an electrical issue. Huh? Lights were all on. Air came on now and then.... whatever. Table next to us complained about rice and steak temps. The manager challenged them on it and claimed he personally made the rice and knew it was good. Seriously? They asked for food to go and just left rather than fight him. The place was pretty empty on a Saturday night, prime time. Says a lot. I would NEVER return and would recommend going somewhere, anywhere else.

I had just gotten into town and my hotel was across the street, so I popped by upon hearing they had a good happy hour. The main entrance was closed so you had to enter in front of the bar. There were only two other people at the bar and the only employee I saw was the bartender. There was no welcome or anything so I just took a seat at the bar. He saw me come in, but it took him a while to come by, and again only two other people in the entire restaurant. The service is why I only gave it 4 stars. Which means, everything else impressed. What the bartender lacked in welcoming and customer service, he made up for in making a darn fine French 75. I am a big fan of this particular cocktail, it was on their happy hour menu, and it was perfect. If you have had one, you know, it isn't supposed to be sweet. It is gin, lemon juice, enough simple syrup to take away the sharpness, and topped with sparkling wine. I've typically had it served in a champagne flute, I was a little worried when he rimmed a martini glass in turbinado sugar, but the man knew what he was doing. It was perfectly balanced. The glass was chilled. It made me happy. And then ... The tuna wontons came out. I have had different iterations of this dish, and this may have been the best. They put an impressive amount of tuna on their fried wontons and that wasabi cream sent it over the top. This ended up being my dinner, when I just came in for a snack. This ended up being one of my very favorite things I had on my vacation.

Not sure, but there is self-parking with validation.

    Is there a dress code?

It's fine dinning. Pretty sure you don't have to wear a tux or a ball gown. However I'm guessing athletic gear probably not allowed.

(I'm certain the staff are aware that many of their diners express shock, once the price is disclosed...) Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll. Please people, don't forget to tip the coat check girls, it is only the right thing to do. Seated at our table the restaurant was initially fairly empty, but filled up nicely while we are already enjoying cocktails, wine, and appetizers. The long bar followed by tables of various sizes filled the restaurant, but it never was too loud and there was plenty of space between tables that you did not feel like you were sitting on top of each other or listening to their conversation more then the person across from your own table. Like most fine dining experiences, the complimentary rolls were served warm and lathered in melted butter. Sinful!. We ordered several appetizers for the table to share including tuna tartare which was very tasty and recommended. I also recommend the Japanese wagyu beef dumplings which were both delicate and savory. Lastly, the calamari was crispy and hot with the right amount of heat from the lemon and herb aioli. To accompany the entrees we ordered the broccolini, Yukon gold potatoes and the highly recommended tater tots. The only issue we had was with the tots which we collectively thought were both slightly over cooked and tasted "different". Said another way, I have never had a tater tot that didn't leave me wanting to eat them one after another until they were all gone, but this one was more than enough and more than 3/4 of the serving was left for the bus-person. Three of us ordered the 8oz Omaha filet which were cooked to perfection and delicious. Why is there not a 12 oz offering like most steak houses? Literally mine looked like it was 4 oz on the large, stark white plate when served. Thankfully being cooked to a perfect medium rare and accompanies by a bordelaise sauce which is also a rarity to find offered, was a treat. The prime New York sirloin and prime ribeye were equally cooked perfectly and delicious. We passed on dessert or after dinner drinks, but certainly enjoyed our visit. I had been craving fish tacos for a really long time, and I was delighted to find a whole section of the menu dedicated to them. We started off with margaritas - one of the best companions to fish tacos - and I ordered mine spicy with jalapeño. For food, we shared the lobster empanadas and chorizo and potato taquitos. I ordered the tempura fish tacos for myself. Our margaritas were brought out shortly - mine was refreshing but lacked the kick from the jalapeño that I was hoping for (there was only one thin slice of pepper). Our food was brought out shortly, and I found it a bit overwhelming when our appetizers and tacos came out together. I started with my tacos, and these were excellent. The fish was flaky and fried to perfection, and I loved the rainbow of sauces and toppings. Plus, the tortillas were nice and sturdy and didn't tear. The lobster empanadas were super decadent, and I appreciated the substantial amount of lobster stuffed inside. I was too full to eat much of the taquitos but took a few bites. These also had good flavor but weren't standouts. Next time, I'd just get the tacos and maybe a light app. Towards the end of our visit, the restaurant seemed to clear out, and we had a difficult time trying to locate our server for the bill. Overall, we had a nice meal and satisfied the fish taco craving.

The Seaport space is just as stunning--decked out in pink, super aesthetic, and definitely a fun, photo-worthy vibe. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. For drinks, I ordered a pitcher margarita with jalapeño, and it was disappointing. It didn't taste fresh and came across more like artificial jalapeño flavoring rather than real infusion--and it wasn't spicy at all. For food, we ordered a variety of small plates to share. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out. It felt a bit underwhelming compared to the atmosphere. The biggest issue was the service. It was very slow throughout the night, and getting the check was especially frustrating--it took about 30 minutes, and we had to ask multiple times before finally receiving it. Overall, the ambiance is beautiful and perfect for a celebration, but the drinks and service didn't match the vibe. Hoping this was just an off night.

The food was great too especially the sliders and pizzzas. Service was great as someone came by to clean up the ping pong balls every few minutes. Very fun experience!

We ended up in Boston randomly and were looking for a place to hangout that would be fun for adults…read moreand a tween. Loved all the games on the tables to play while waiting for our ping pong table to be ready. We ordered drinks at the bar and I loved my Curious George! So good! We got some snacks at the ping pong table and they were good too. The fries were cooked perfectly but the pepper ketchup wasn't my favorite. We ended up ordering 2 fries so I must not have minded the ketchup too much. We got the hop pop chicken tenders and found them to be ok. They were a bit overcooked, so they probably would be better less crisped. The place is huge! The employees were continually walking around scooping up all the ping pong palls and making sure everyone was taken care of. I love the net tool they had for collecting the balls. My niece loved the ping pong ball bath. She jumped in it about a dozen times. I wish we had something like this near me, it was great family fun and could turn into adult fun in the evening with lots of amazing drinks.
