The first time I dined here I had a very bad experience, so I wanted to give it another try to see if that could improve. I would say overall dinner tonight was great, service was very polite and prompt, and I like the design on the inside. Every table has a candle or candleabra lit which was a great touch. It has a very upscale lounge feel due to the outfits of the staff and pretty loud background music. At times it was hard to hear some of the other members at our table so I don't know if I would suggest this as a business dinner location. More so for a date or dinner with friends or family. Tonight every single table was taken so you can tell it's a very popular place in town. I started off the meal with the Bone Marrow appetizer and it was great. Two healthy sized bones with a lot of meat yield and I loved every bite. For my entrée I chose the Filet Mignon with the Bone Marrow Stuffing add on and really enjoyed both. They started off our meal with a complementary cocktail, which was nice plus an onion dip with chips, which went quickly. Overall, this was a really nice meal. It's a beautiful restaurant. Very upscale and a great ambiance. I was there celebrating my birthday. Call or text the restaurant to get that menu with your name on it. There is a dress code. I had a mesh outfit on but they gave me a shawl to cover myself lol the drinks were really good and our waitress was very sweet. I think the food was good but not necessarily great, I have had better food at other restaurants but it was at least satisfying. The sides are large enough to share with a table of 3 or 4 people. Maple and Ash used to be our favorite place to go for birthdays, anniversaries and date nights. We loved the food and service. We used to go to Michael. He gave us his business card a couple years ago and told us to reach out anytime we wanted to make reservations. We reached out to him a few times for reservations. He'd make our reservation and always gave us excellent service. He always made us feel like valued customers. Well, last year we tried to make a reservation for my birthday. My husband sent him a text two times and never heard back. We tried calling the restaurant to see if Michael was still there and they are basically a call center without any knowledge of employees. We assumed he was no longer there, so we went with another server. She was ok, but she was not as personable as Michael. While I was there, I went to the bathroom and ran into Michael. I was stunned to see him there and told him we tried to reach him. He looked shocked to see us there too (like "oh-no" shocked). He claimed he was in the mountains and didn't have any reception. If that were the case, wouldn't he get the text messages when he returned? Well, my husband and I expressed our disappointment and he said he would put us on some sort of list for next time, so we could get him as a server next time. Fast forward 6 months later, my husband tries to book our anniversary dinner with Michael and again there's no response. Ok, fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. We got the hint loud and clear! We considered booking with another person again, but we were turned off the entire experience because: 1) we couldn't get a response from Michael again, 2) have to pay a deposit for a reservation now, and 3) need to pay an additional employee benefits charge. We'll go ahead and toss out Michael's card now too, so he won't have to worry about us contacting him anymore. It's a shame Maple and Ash are charging a deposit for reservations and are having customers pay for their employee benefits when it should be paid for by Maple and Ash. It costs enough to eat there. There's plenty of other nice restaurants to go to who don't charge a deposit for reservations and won't make you pay for their employee benefits. read more

We had a steak mixup at the table and I was so impressed with how the staff handled the situation. I ordered the wedge (but didn't photograph it. Oops. Yelp fail!), and the French onion soup. From someone who worked many years in the restaurant/fine dining and service industry, Maple & Ash is hands down fucking AWESOME! He had a nicely trimmed beard and was a Jameson fan :) His service and timeliness in between everything was spot on and seamless! The entire staff made me feel special and was courteous, I received many 'Happy Birthdays', the bathroom attendant in the women's restroom was also celebrating a birthday on Feb 22nd and even she wished me a Happy Birthday! I learned my lesson coming here that's for sure. First thing I'll say is, beware. Yelp did not mention that they had a dress code, which should honestly be advertised if you want people to dress a certain way. We walked in and saw the sign and thankfully they let us in, outfits pictured. The inside is super upscale and huge. They have a ton of seating but it is super dark and the music is WAY TOO LOUD. I get they were trying to have a celebratory ambiance but it is too loud. You can't hear at all. Once you sit down, you get the menus and a complimentary coffee like cocktail (complementary I guess) We came for breakfast and I was wanting to get the waffle tower. Unfortunately, you have to order the tower with the meals, which btw are $75 a person. You get to pick a mean entree like chicken and waffles, a breakfast burger, steak and eggs, the three we choose. This also comes with a bunch of sharable items like waffles, pastries, steak, and some other stuff. The steak was the best part. My chicken and waffles were not good. I struggle on what to rate this restaurant. I was eyeing this place for a long time and I was finally able to attend. I booked in advance for when I was flying in. The place is super sexy and super crowded, and this was on a Wed night. No one attended to our table for quite some time after we were seated. I loved the complimentary chips and dip and appreciated the gesture of the complimentary cocktail. She did pour it before I could say no. Our salad came out before our drinks. The warm seafood tower that I had been eyeing was very good, but the expectation of it way exceeded the reality. The coconut cream pie was one of the best I've had. The reason I took off another star was the addition of an employee benefits charge. We were all shocked to see it and was a total turn off. My friends live in the area and that was enough to make them not want to go back. It's a place to be seen (if that is your thing) and it's very loud and boisterous. Well decorated, low lit with good music. Our server Serenity was great. They start you off with a really good prickly pear martini and a caviar dip, both were very good. We then ordered oysters, some cognac and a lady in black martini. For the main course we did the seafood tower PRO and it was ridiculously good. My wife had the filet mignon and I went with the Chicago cut ribeye. We both ordered medium rare and that's exactly what we got. The steaks were cooked perfectly to temp and had a great seasoning on them. We left full and satisfied with absolutely no complaints. I came to Maple & Ash for the first time last night to celebrate my birthday with a friend. My first impression of the restaurant was that it was incredibly loud. The entire experience was honestly like being in a nightmare. There were patrons literally screaming at each other at the table behind us. I figured it would quiet down, but it never did. It was so loud in fact that I could not even talk to my friend who was sitting 3 feet from me. The food was phenomenal. The fillet mignon was cooked perfectly, the asparagus and broccolini was very good, and the desert torte was amazing. The service was excellent, although the only thing I was disappointed about was that there are only two Malbec options on the entire wine list and one was not in stock and the other... was not very good. Ultimately I will give this place a 3 out of 5 stars. I have been in loud restaurants before, but this place was off the freakin charts. Literally notified by my Apple Watch that it thinks I should not spend more than 30 minutes in there to avoid hearing damage. I knew my friend made us a reservation weeks in advance, so all the good buzz I heard about this place prior to coming made me excited to dine here. Their attire is business casual so this is a great place to celebrate a special occasion as the ambiance is on the fancier side. My friend and I were both celebrating our birthdays and got their super cute menus for special occasions as well as complimentary cocktails(Prickly Pear Margarita)- they were poured in smaller glasses but this was such a nice gesture since I've never ate anywhere that does that! They also gave us free bread and also chips with dip that had caviar- which absolutely blew me away as most places just give free bread at most. SHORT RIB BOLOGNESE(3.5/5): We found this to be on the saltier side which made us not reach for it as much as the truffle ravioli that we also ordered. The flavor was still good and the noodles were perfectly al dente, but just a little too much salt. RICOTTA AGNOLOTTI(5/5): The truffle flavor in this is VERY present which I appreciate since I love truffle. This was delicious, flavorful, and overall and such a great side to share! CHICAGO CLASSIC BONELESS RIBEYE5/5): This was so tender, we didn't even need to cut the meat as it fell apart in our mouths with every bite. Highly recommend this for your main dish, my friend and I shared this between the two of us and were barely able to finish it. I think on top of the food, another thing that contributed to our great experience here was also the customer service as they actually plated ours dishes for us too. We were served by Kristy who was so sweet and welcoming, and really made us feel like we were getting taken care of! My girlfriend had a birthday, so we all decided to try this place out for brunch. I was glad that we made reservations because we definitely needed them. It was a Saturday and the place was packed mostly women but I'm sure there were couples also. We were greeted right when we walked in we got sat pretty quickly. Our server was Daphne. She greeted us with a cocktail and a small dessert that was similar to a churro that we dipped in a chocolate whip cream. We had the brunch which had a lot of choices. Yes, it was pricey but the experience was wonderful. The service was wonderful. The food was incredible. We tried the Alaskan king crab Benedict at Daphne's suggestion. It did not disappoint. It was delicious and fresh. It also came with several sides -pumpkin scones, maple bacon, crispy potatoes and filet mignon. To top it off, we ordered the espresso martini. It came perfectly shaken and a wonderful flavor. As for the venue, The place is rather large had a U-shaped bar along with some boots and longer tables. There were several rooms and also looked like they even had a room for our private party if you wanted it. When we contacted the restaurant they did not care to reimburse us or have us come back to try and correct this. Fair warning: this place is very expensive and is usually packed with lots of (loud) people having a great time. As long as you set your expectations to that -- you can also have a great time! I had the best date night here and would totally come back again -- or with a group of ladies for a party. My husband and I came for "tower hour" and got the $40 mini seafood tower -- plus a $40 add-on of half a lobster. Absolutely delicious. So were the raw oysters (especially when we added caviar). The dry-aged ribeye was probably one of the most perfectly seared, flavorful, delicious steaks I've ever had. Even if it was something like $90 -- worth it. I also highly recommend the truffle baked potato. One of the most flavorful, decadent, buttery, cheesy dishes -- with large chunks of maple bacon. Could literally even just eat this and be happy! Don't order the $50 turbot fish. Just ok compared to everything else and in my opinion overpriced. We barely touched ours, but the staff was super nice and understanding and took that off. Out of all the places we had on our itinerary, this was by far my favorite. We wanted to have a little fancy dinner for our last night in Scottsdale and Maple & Ash was the perfect place! Booked reservations a month in advance on SevenRooms. The night before our reservation, they texted asking whose birthday we were celebrating. Given that both our birthdays were in the summer and we didn't have time to celebrate together, they made a birthday menu for each of us! So sweet! The place is upscale but in sort of a casual laid back vibe if that makes sense. Like you can tell you're going to be provided the best service, quality food, but you can still be in comfy cute casual clothes. Before our waitress (Kristy) took our order, she came by to give us both complimentary cocktails, bread and butter, and chips and caviar. In many of the steakhouses I've been to, I have had such generous complimentary offerings. I understand bread on the house, but wow, a tequila cocktail and caviar! I'm not the biggest fan of caviar but this did not taste too fishy. The bread and butter was divine.. I wanted to eat all of it but I knew we had a load of food coming. We also both ordered a drink each - illicit affair and housewife behavior. The cocktails were so pretty. And they weren't just pretty, they were delicious AND strong. A quality cocktail. Between us two, we shared 2 pastas and ribeye entree. Ricotta agnolotti - Pillows of love!! I love anything Truffle and this was absolutely delicious. They nailed the flavor where it wasn't too strong where it got sickening but just the right amount of flavor and aroma. Short rib bolognese - Every time I see bolognese on a menu, I have to get it. I love to see how different places make their bolognese. It did not disappoint! The short rib was amazing and so soft and tender. My friend and I did actually notice that as we kept eating, it started tasting a bit salty. Chicago boneless ribeye - Out of all the different cuts, ribeye is definitely my favorite. I love meat that just melts in your mouth so you don't even have to really chew it. Amazing. One of the best ribeyes I have ever tasted. We were beyond full since we were trying to finish every last bite since it was so delicious. Given we aren't from the area, we couldn't take anything to-go. Honestly, the service here is impeccable and so welcoming and friendly. When our food came out, multiple people from the kitchen including Kristy had plated both our plates. It was so kind. Looking into their website, I was excited to see Etta is a sister restaurant as I also wanted to try that in LA. If I am ever back in Scottsdale (or Chicago), this is a must on my list! It's boujee! It's classy! It's a one in a life experience! Brunch at Maple and Ash will exceed your expectations! My sister chose to have her birthday celebration here and it was such a fun experience. Our waiter, Sean, was so thoughtful, witty, funny, and made our meal personal and one of a kind. Once we were seated at our table Sean and Michael who assisted brought us a welcome cocktail. It was a whiskey lemon tea, the whiskey was pretty dominant but the after taste has a mild lemon flavor. The drink menu had a good variety and Sean was so patient and gave us great suggestions for our preferences, (see pictures). The Detoxicated was our favorite, it was green tea infused Wheatley with matcha, lime, and golden falernum. Now for the food! I personally got the lobster and prawn hash which had roasted vegetables, truffle hollandaise and I asked for my eggs to be scrambled. My boyfriend got the truffle omelette that was stuffed with ricotta, black truffle, and trumpet mushrooms. The truffle was a bit overwhelming but still good. Then the rest of our table got the Alaskan king crab Benedict. The eggs were perfectly pouched and the hollandaise sauce made the dish. Then for shareable side dishes we could order as much or as little of each. The filet mignon was so tender and they definitely used sous vide to cook it. Then the second best thing was the THICC maple bacon. It may have been thick but it was a bit crunchy yet not horrible. And the maple glazed gave it the perfect contrast to the saltiness of the bacon. The scones were a citrus flavor and had white chocolate drizzled on top. And of course you can't really mess up roasted potatoes. Then for dessert we chose the lightest dessert (we low key over did it on the flirt mignon and bacon) the lemon blueberry mousse. It had lemon mousse dipped in blueberry curd and had honey lavender ice cream. This was so light and refreshing that it was the absolute perfect finish to our meal. Stopped by Maple & Ash for happy hour and I have to say, this restaurant is just classy. After sitting down and ordering some drinks, we were greeted with some bread and a dip with caviar in it. We came for the happy hour oysters so this was a nice compliment to that. Ordered a dozen oysters, half and half of what they had in that day and a few with the added caviar on top. The oysters were fresh, a great size and delicious. Also we found out you can make reservations for happy hour, which I will be taking advantage of more now. 5 star service, 1 star food. We had high hopes for this place after all the hype and constant reminders from the restaurant to dress up as if they're so great. So we came dressed up and were off to a great start with the welcome drink and a great waitress. However, the kitchen needs some serious cooking lessons as the food was not good at all. First, it took about an hour after appetizers to get our entrees because the kitchen was backed up. After all that waiting, the salmon was overcooked and all three entrees were underseasoned. The chocolate cake was also dry and worse than a store bought cake. We will not come back, and instead of constantly telling people to dress up, they should spend some time buying seasonings and learning how to cook. read more

5 stars, for me, means that both the food and the service excelled. Nothing is truer for the experience we recently had at Maple & Ash Scottsdale. We went for a friend's 40th and had a truly memorable meal. We started with the Hamachi Crudo and Grilled octopus, after the customary house cocktail, served on the house, as soon as you are seated. Both were really good. They also bring bread, soppressata and some other antipasto items. If you have to choose one, the Hamachi is the way to go. For meals, our group ordered a variety of steaks (New York, Filet and Cowboy), the table ordered the "beefed up butter" which everyone loved as an accompaniment to their steaks which were flavorful and cooked to temp. I ordered the grilled seafood tower, typically an app, as my meal, and it's easily the best seafood tower I've ever had, and I'm a seafood LOVER! I'd order it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME...if everything else wasn't so good! The birthday girl got the truffle pasta which was phenomenal. As sides we ordered the au gratin potatoes and Brussels. The Brussels are a must. For service, we had to wait way longer than we should have with a reservation. This place was hopping, even on a Wednesday. There's no way to get in here without a res. We then had a small hiccup with a disappearing Somm, but they more than made up for it with a second Somm who matched our waiters well-timed and hilarious personality. And last but not least, our professional and truly enjoyable waiter, Justin. While the food was amazing, Justin made the experience memorable. A good time was had by all (hopefully even Justin!). This place is definitely beautiful from the outside to the inside. Its really loud with the music and talking but its a good atmosphere. Our server was Robbie, he was an excellent server, very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious, I had the surf and turf. The filet was good, however the lobster tail was like half and it was sort of rubbery. Other than that everything else was delicious The restroom was kinda tight (small) but they have a bathroom attendant tgat gave you a napkin afrer you washed your hands. It had Hershey kisses and peppermints also. The lobster mac & cheese was delicious, not on the menu, but Robbie made us aware it existed. Definitely a to go place read more

This is my 2nd time coming to Maple and Ash. The first time was for a birthday dinner and everything was amazing, especially the seafood tower. This visit was for Brunch... hands down the best French Toast I've ever had. The unlimited sides were all delicious as well. Our table ordered the king crab Benedict's, the cheese omelette, and the French toast. Food and service was 10/10!! read more

Honestly, I was skeptical. I initially thought this place was over priced for what it was. But I was told to try it out for the experience. I was not let down. I've never had a more knowledgeable server. 10/10 gentleman. He knew literally everything on the menu. The Caesar was the best Caesar salad I've had in my life. The asparagus were cooked to perfection. I suggest ordering a steak medium rare. I also request custom menus in the notes as far as the connotation goes, I didn't receive them initially but didn't think anything of it. At the end of the date the waiter brought them out.
