This restaurant changed its name recently, but the staff and the food are the same as before. It's a great place to meet with friends for breakfast or lunch. This week it was lunchtime, so I tried their Reuben sandwich with tomatoes as a side. They were happy to accommodate my request for sourdough instead of rye. The sandwich was hot and the bread was nice and crispy. Our server was very friendly and efficient. She checked in with us several times throughout our meal. The place was busy, but everyone who worked there maintained a cheerful attitude. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely continue to go there. read more

I would give less if I could. Went for a little lunch date with my husband. Asked for 2 Dr.Peppers while we looked over the menu. We knew what we wanted right away so when the waiter came back with the sodas we placed the order. We tried our soda and it tasted off. So I asked for a water instead and the waitress started to make a scene with the other waitresses yelling that I don't know what I'm talking about. So after swatting flies. Getting a dirty cup and politely asking for a water. We just left. We did not need the attitude, poor service and never even got to the food. I'm drooling just thinking about the cinnamon roll. Some friends and I stopped in around 9:00 Saturday morning, after a hike at Saguaro National Park. There was a waiting list but seat at the counter were available so we nabbed them. The first item I saw was the line of cinnamon rolls, sitting there on the counter, staring at me, daring me not to buy one. I told that little voice to shut the hell up & ordered one. It was one of the best cinnamon rolls I have had in a very long time. I loved the decor of Margie's, the servers were all bustling around taking orders, filling orders, etc etc. All three of us sat there, staring at the crew in the kitchen, and personally, I was amazed. It was such a well-oiled machine back there. With everything coming in and going out, people walking here & there, not once did I see anyone collide w/ someone else or any food get spilled. It was great to watch. Our server stopped off almost immediately upon our taking seats, water was upon request only & placed in front of us quickly. Cinnamon roll was delivered warmed up and boy, was it light & fluffy, not overly sweet but just right. I ordered the breakfast burrito w/ sausage (sans salsa) and refried beans. Food came out quickly and hot and the burrito's tortilla was not that overly thick store-bought crap. I think if I get the burrito again I may ask for the beans to be inside, as it was a bit "dry", meaning only that perhaps the beans or maybe sour cream would have added that little bit of a moist touch to it. The other gals I was with enjoyed their food, too. Hell, one of them scarfed hers down so fast I'm surprised she even tasted it. LOL! If we head back to Tucson for another hike, I think we'll be hitting Margie's again for sure. This time I'm going to get a cinnamon roll to go and try their pecan pancakes. read more

I love this place, all the waitresses are very happy to see you when you get there. The food is always good and reasonably priced. Bread and butter café is a great place to start your morning. We were minding our own business and just talking away for about 30 minutes after we finished our meal when the hostess came up to us and asked us to leave. Went here for brunch today with my Mom as part of our normal Sunday outting. Place was packed! Was quoted a wait time to be seated of approx 15-20 mins, but it was barely 10 mins before we got our table. Service was awesome! Oh dear. I can only describe the food as tasteless. Eggs - meh. Hashbrowns, underdone. Chorizo - meh. Biscuits and gravy - oh no! The biscuit was doughy. Gravy was floury, no taste. Coffee - like brown dishwater. Turkey sausage links was probably the only thing with flavor in this meal. I don't know. Not a good dining experience. Service was excellent. Not the server's fault. The staff is friendly & efficient & food is good, cooked right! ***New addition*** Pam is baking from scratch cinnamon raisin bread!!! It's delicious, I had planned to put apple butter on it but changed my mind because it was so good. I asked about buying a loaf to take home but they haven't decided to sell loaves yet but I was told I wasn't the only person that asked about buying it. Extremely disappointed. My boyfriend and I had breakfast there in Mar 2022. Disgusting food, rude service. The pancakes tasted like salt and baking soda, not sweet or fluffy at all. I was overcharged $5 on my bill, and when I pointed it out, I was told that it was the owner's discretion and he could charge what he liked despite what was printed on the menu. These lady severs mean business! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and told to pick my own seat which was nice. We sat down and immediately our server was there prepared to take a drink order. She brought the drinks right away and filled the coffee. Throughout our visit all of the waitresses seemed attentive and filled coffees, even at tables that they weren't serving. The menu had an extensive selection for breakfast and was organized well. The prices were good as well. The food came quickly just the way we ordered it. The potatoes were okay. I must admit that places that serve food that isn't seasoned is my pet peeve. The potatoes were not seasoned but cooked well. If you season french fries you have to season hash browns and home fries. The eggs were a perfect over-medium and the corned beef hash was cooked well and from the can, (the only way to eat it!) Others with me ordered an omelet and pancakes and they were good as well. Overall the experience was great but if you are looking for a cozy place to enjoy an slow breakfast I would make other plans. They definitely pump people in and out to optimize business. I really liked the counter and stools, it gave the place an old-school diner effect. If I were to be picky, the decor didn't match the layout at all. The fake hanging plants and "crafty" signage and chotchkies stifled this unique diner look. I also saw a handwritten sign that said, "No business meetings" which I thought was strange. It was next to another sign that said, "$5 charge for whining." I think they went a little overboard with the signs. A cool spot with the family owned feel and great service.
