Marin Mazda is Amazing! My husband and I have bought many different cars through the years, both used and new, and normally I dread having to enter a dealership! So I'm happy to share what a wonderful experience we had at Marin Mazda! Rami greeted us at the door to find out what we were looking for. After we explained we wanted a 2-3 yr old used car in a certain price range, size and condition, he suggested we keep our minds open to a new car as the price difference was not that far apart in his current inventory. Keeping that in mind, we were introduced to Ebin. Right away Ebin started explaining the differences between the SUV models we were interested in and the deals that could be had at this time of year on the 2024's and some 2025 discontinued models with next years models coming out soon. We test drove the car that we came in to see and realized it was much larger than we thought, so we test drove a smaller one, that wasn't even on our radar and realized it was perfect for us. We also drove this model with and without the Turbo engine. Ebin is so fun to work with, he's super smart and knowledgeable about all the cars in the Mazda line, new and old and can also answer and compare other makes comparable to the one we liked. Once we decided on the size we wanted, Rami and Ebin helped us compare the features and prices between a new 2025 Cx-5 Turbo and a new 2024 Cx-5 even running numbers with different payment scenarios. There was no pressure, no hard sales pitch. We left for the day so we could digest all the info they provided and decide what we wanted to do. Ebin touched base with us the next day, as agreed, and we made an appointment to come back and purchase the New 2025 CX-5 Turbo. Rami and Ebin are the dream team in our minds, they are so patient and knowledgeable, it felt like we were the only clients in the dealership. Richard in financing was great too! We are so happy with our decisions, and can't really say enough about what fantastic service they provide to buyers by taking the stress out of buying a car, being transparent with the numbers, and very knowledgeable on both new and used cars! This is a review for service dept. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE! IT'S A SCAM. They over-charge you on the rate and they suggest things that DO NOT NEED TO BE DONE, even per Mazda. I have a 2017 CX-5, 60k miles. They recommended - Coolant fluid service $249, (5 years / 50k miles) - Transmission fluid service $349 (5 years / 50k miles) I looked it up online and in the manual... - Coolant service needs to be done at 120k miles - Transmission fluid is LIFETIME for SKYACTIV transmissions. This place called me and set up a time to buy my SUV for that price; after knowing the full detail about the SUV, they offered me $3500.00 less than the KBB offer. The SUV is in immaculate shape, low miles etc. The two macho guys with arms covered with tats, said because of the age/milage, they cannot take it, yet knowing the age/milage already. they tried to lure me to buy one of their stuff. I drove 25 miles, gas/toll just for them to tell the age/milage was the factor yet knowing that from the get-go. They products are overprized just like everything else in paradise. The finance dept are shady. They use a IPad to do the contract and slipped in stuff we didn't want (like over priced extended warranty) but the iPad doesn't allow you to actually read the contract as you are using it. Finance guy said we could call him the next business day and make some changes if we liked. But when we said we diden't want the stuff we didn't ask for, it didn't get removed. This is the classic shady car sales crap that makes it so people dread going to buy a new car. The car was great, but the help sucks. Just very below average service. I have give this place 3 tries and been absolutely annoyed every time. Customer service department doesn't seem to care and don't seem to know what is going on. The first time I took the car in for a service it was fine but when we got it back the car was idling a little funny. Weird because the car wasn't doing that before the service. After another trip back to the dealership they concluded that we were putting in the wrong grade of gas into it. Second time I brought my car in for scheduled maintenance and to get a side mirror fixed. I mentioned to them NOT to change the oil as I had just done it. I pick up the car and go to pay for it and and an oil change was on the bill. I explain to them that I told them I didn't want that service. They took it off and then sold it to me like they did me the favor of changing my oil for free. I also got into the car and the fixed mirror had smudgy finger prints all over it plus they didn't fix it all the way so I had to come back the next day. This third and final trip is the absolute last straw. I got a letter in say may for a fuel pump recall and how it's absolutely critical to get it replaced. I call Mazda and they say they say the part won't be in till later in the summer. Fine. I understand that with supply chain issues. Fast forward to august and I take the car in. I get there and the lady goes "you need to have the fuel tank at half or less or they will have to dump the tank". I'm like are you kidding me. There was no info in the email appointment confirmation or a text message about that. She then tells me it's in the recall letter they send but sent to my sister in law's house. They didn't even have my address on file. She also tells me I can just come back another day but I had already taken the time off work and driven from Berkley to Marin. It's 1:30 and I still don't have my car. I called to see the status since I dropped it off at 9:30AM and they are just starting it now. They told me that they prioritize people who wait at the dealership over people who take an uber some place and they had 12 people who were waiting in the show room this morning. Non of this was communicated to me at all. It's absolutely annoying because what is the point of having an appointment if you can just drop your car off and be taken priority over people who have appointments. *update. Car got done at 2:30pm after waiting since 9:30. Took 30 min to get an Uber sent and finally picked my car up at 3:45pm. This sums up Mazda Marin. Very half ass, poor communication and customers service. It always feels like it falls on the customer to know things. 100% will not bring my car back. But pricing: there were about $1500 of dealer add-ons (door trims, nitrogen-filled tires, I forget what else) added to the window sticker of the car. Salesperson told me that this dealership does these to ALL their new Mazdas. Mind you, when you look at Window Sticker associated with a given car on their website, this dealer mark-up is not shown. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! NOT RECOMMENDED! MARIN MAZDA!!!‍ Got a second hand car few months ago, i had exchange email for inquiries before my visit to see the car, the sales person was accommodating at first. The day i came to see the car i was a straight forward with my budget and talked to different agents (managers) and ended up leaving because of the last person ive talked to was giving me so much attitude as if they don't care about the customers, i let that pass and talked to my agent instead if i could get the deal close to my budget i will get the car the next day, and i had the numbers and went back. The agent assured me that before getting the car it'll be full tank and fixed since i saw a minimal flaw and he promised me to fixed it after signing the contract. We finalized everything and signed and i asked for the copies of everything i signed on that day (some of the papers that should be included wasn't in my packet when i got home to add it to my insurance), the car brought to repair and it was a back job, the glue wasn't dry enough and come off not even driving out from the premises, because i was in a hurry i let that pass again, i was driving the car 1 mile away when i notice the gas was less than half. I called the agent (EBIN GRAMAJO) and he said i can come back and they will fill the gas, so i came back and he wasn't there he told me to approach the guy named RYAN (the attitude manager not sure if he is really a manager or agent too) and he said we don't fill the gas tank, its in the policy, and he is looking at me the same way i came there for the first time with an attitude , crossed arms and the looks that would never ever help somebody that just purchased/finance a unit from them minutes ago, never friendly or approachable or accommodating. As someone who just got a car you still have some questions and complains about hows the experience you had DAYS AGO and my agent (EBIN GRAMAJO) decided to just blocked me from calling him, very unprofessional and unknowledgeable about the policy and the car that i got. They missed an obvious problem with my car while it was under warranty but found it after my car aged out of the warranty. They wouldn't even try to get it covered, but I easily got corporate to cover it. Though I refused to go back to this dealership. The service department manager is a grumpy old jerk. He even swore in front of my two young children!!! They did an additional service to my car that I never asked for and never agreed to. When I refused to pay for it at pick up, the service manager realized that they screwed up but was still incredibly rude to me. I tried to call the dealership office to complain but of course, got no call back. In a local social media group, lots of people said they've had nightmare experiences with this dealership and mostly the service department. I can't speak highly enough of Marin Mazda. This was my first time purchasing a new vehicle - I have only purchased used vehicles from private parties before but the used vehicle market is still pretty nuts for what you get in 2024. I was drawn to Mazda, one because they are known for their reliability, especially their CX-5, which is expected to be on par with Honda and Toyota, while being slightly better on the price point. I had the advantage of not needing a vehicle urgently since this was going to be our second vehicle so I took my time through the process. With my minimal dealership experience from the past I had low expectations walking into not just Marin Mazda but other dealerships in my search. But I walked away a very very happy customer at Marin Mazda. I want to shout out Francisco, who was our main point of contact in terms of checking out vehicles, test driving, and answering questions about trims and comparability to Toyotas or Hondas. He said he was new to Mazda but he already knew a lot about the vehicles, answered all our questions, was courteous, and overall very approachable with questions. The next person I want to shout out is Rami - he is amazing to work with. I like to know the details of what I am getting into, vehicle wise obviously but also price wise (out the door cost and not just monthly payments). We were going to finance the vehicle but Rami also explained to us how leasing would work and we sat in his office comparing numbers for almost 2 hours - not once did I feel rushed or pressured into getting a vehicle. We discussed pricing with full transparency - we broke out the calculator and ran through scenarios multiple times. My price point was on the lower end but Rami was open to continued discussion, price matched with the other dealership offer we had, and overall just made sure that we were fully satisfied with the deal before we signed on - again not once did I feel rushed or pressured. They obviously wanted to win our business - which dealership wouldn't want new customers if a deal was possible; but its the way they approached it was so refreshing. There are others I want to shout out as well - Richard in finance who was very helpful and all the documentation was a breeze with him and Gabriel who is also in the sales department who answered a lot of questions I had before and after we made our purchase and in the coming couple of days when I had some more questions about the vehicle. Their quote for the car we just purchased from a dealer in Burlingame was a full $2000 more - on a Mazda. In modern times it's important for dealers to recognize that people don't want to hassle and be coerced and berated by sales people; and the prices we pay for cars are available to view online. Beware the Service Department. I took my brand new car to Marin Mazda for its first service. Almost immediately thereafter, I noticed a significant oil leak. When I called Marin Mazda their response was, "You probably ran over something." Turns out, it was their fault. Fast forward six months, and I returned to Marin Mazda for another service. Although the "report" I received online indicated that everything was in the green including all fluid levels, my window washer well was just about empty. Makes me wonder what other fluid levels they ignored. When I completed their customer service survey, I received a call from the Service Manager, who had just been hired and who seemed truly empathetic and concerned about my experiences at Marin Honda. He assured me that what happened to me was unacceptable, and he was taking steps to improve the Service Dept. We had several texts and calls. He was fired within the week. read more

Was looking to buy a car off of them using TrueCar. The price like normal was over KBB by almost $1000, which isn't unusual. Then I went to their site where i found some crony tactics. They show their price at $5000 over KBB value, then give a $3227 discount to make you feel like you are getting a deal. They were not willing to go to a reasonable price. When I called them out on their tactics, they tried to use Carfax value which is almost always overpriced, especially compared to KBB, which is known to be the most accurate. We got a text from Mark with a good deal on a car we were looking at. We drove the Marin for about 1.5 hours, test drove the car, and sat down with him. He gave us a new quote that was 3+ times more than the one he texted us. We showed him the text and he said he could not sell the car for that price. In most contexts, this is called "bait and switch." We are assuming it was a huge mistake. Unfortunately, he would not negotiate and we would not pay the outrageously high price he newly offered. Me thinks, stay away, stay far away. The comment from Marin is not true. There was one payment left on the 36 month lease, but the residual value was very high, the market for the vehicle very strong. Two days later we did the same transaction at another dealer, and on the basis of the trade-in value of the truck, got a very fair and reasonable offer for a new lease. Not sure what is going on at Marin Mazda, but it is a shame (my wife also said the bathroom was filthy.) I think they should just apologize and correct themselves rather than trying to claim it was our fault (something they didn't say when we were there). read more

I think purchasing a car always creates a certain level of anxiety. Our experience Marin Subaru was great. Fabio was wonderful. He was very informative and not pushy at all. I had researched what I wanted to pay for the car. I gave them that number and they gave the ok in about 3 minutes. Their finance office is not in house as a result it did take a little time getting the paperwork (I assume some of that is because it's a weekend). I'm disappointed with the disconnect between sales and the parts department. I wouldn't recommend purchasing accessories here. I bought a new Mazda 3 from here about a month ago and everything went smoothly. Ruben was a very good sales man and offered me a 10% discounts on floor mats and a cargo tray. Great. Called the Mario, the parts guy who said they were available and I could pick them up whenever. I came in on a Sunday, to come pick them up, but no floormats. Apparently I was supposed to purchase them over the phone which Mario failed to mention. For whatever reason, the sales people cannot sell you them... So the next week I called to order them over the phone. I texted Ruben that I was coming on the next sunday who said great he'll leave them in showroom for me. Cool. I come in the next sunday and guess what. No floor mats. Apparently Mario forgot to hand them over to sales and they were locked in the parts shed that sales does not have access to. Ruben did offer to send them to me by mail which was generous, but was not sure when they would arrive. For the time spent driving all the way to Marin Mazda twice (45 min each way), it was not worth the 10% discount. read more
