The Bloody Mary bar is so impressive. I have been here a few times and I always end up getting their veggie burger because it's so good! The grit cakes are amazing too. The service is usually great, it gets pretty busy on the weekends so the servers can get a little tied up but that's only natural. This place is pretty good. Nothing too exciting. I have eaten dinner here before and had the steak and blue salad. Super tasty. I came here again for brunch and was a little disappointed in the limited brunch menu. I ordered a veggie burger instead with a side Caesar salad. I liked the side salad more than the burger. My veggie burger didn't have any sauce on it so I asked for mustard on the side. The server was very friendly and quick and had a positive attitude even with my questions and requests. We just visited recently and while the food was decent we left with a bad taste in our mouths. When it came time to pay we gave our server Kevin a $50 gift card. That would have covered the $42 and change meal leaving almost an $8 tip. The server lied and said the gift card did not work. He said he had his Manager swipe it twice s well. I'm no dummy, I know being a server he thought he'd lose the tip if he gave me a portion of the gift card back. I know that little trick I was in the hospitality biz for many years. I thought this place was solid but see this much more as a lunch place than a dinner spot. It is quite small inside but they do a good job of having lots of seats around the bar both inside and outside. Their mixed drinks seem a bit high but I ended up going with a draft beer. I had the fish tacos and their house fries. Food was good but you can tell I can the end batch of fries so they were kind of bits and pieces. The Mrs. got the shrimp and grits which were quite good and they gave an insane amount of shrimp with them. Service was really friendly as well. What a fantastic neighborhood spot. Yes I'm aware this is a chain, but it sure doesn't taste like it. Our server Sarah was super friendly and knows the menu quite well. If you're on the fence they'll let you sample it. We had the burgers on our visit along with sides of hand cut fries and jalapeño cheese corn grits. The burgers are fresh, juicy, huge and cooked to your liking. They come topped with field greens, onions and beefsteak tomatoes along with any of the cheeses in the kitchen. The hand cut fries have the right amount of crisp and salt to them. Then there is the jalapeño cheese corn grits that are out of this freaking world!!! These are served topped with green onion. The consistency is not that of typical grits. It's a bit more dense and fluffy. Hints of jalapeño, cheddar and bits of corn throughout this dish will leave your tastebuds craving more. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu items and signature cocktails. read more

It's my husbands and my favorite restaurant. The flavors you get at this place simply never disappoint. Since this location opened a little over a year ago, we have probably eaten here about 10 times. It is actually my goal to try everything on the menu. 20 more visits should do it! The Lee Vista location has a dog friendly patio, but we enjoy going to Waterford with our dogs, so we ordered takeout last night. When I went in to pick up our order, one of the managers politely informed me that there was a mixup, and that our order still had not been made. My husband and I had no problem waiting, we just walked our dogs a little longer :) when my husband went in 20 minutes later, he was given a beer, half off the meal, and 2 free appetizer tickets. It more than made up for the mixup. We continue to go to Marlow's because the atmosphere is friendly and laid back, the employees are cheerful and the service is impeccable. No business can run without a mixup here and there. We have been here at least 10 times, and this was the first time the experience was less than perfect, so I consider it a good run. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is I do not care for the layout of the restaurant. It gets very crowded at the front! There also simply are not enough restroom facilities for the number of guests who continue to feast here. ;) But really, the food makes up for it. My favorite so far is the shrimp and grits, but they are all excellent. I just wish they would bring back the gourmet meatloaf! read more

Grilled chicken and hamburger were good but asparagus fries just terrible. Very oily and chewy - save your money and order something else. We came in at 5pm, not yet crowded, and service started out spotless. But as more people came in, our waiter became less attentive and even forgot to bring our dessert menu. Place looks nice especially during the holidays but the food is just ok. My husband had the Marlow burger (their signature) and I had the BBQ Pork sandwich (Cuban style), both with fries. The burger was the best part of both our dinners; as I had a few bites myself. It was juicy and cooked as requested and the specialty sauce was delicious. However, my BBQ sandwich left much to be desired. It was mostly BBQ sauce and nothing Cuban about it except that it was pressed. The fries were horrible, in my opinion. The were too crispy to be fries, they were more like chips! Probably won't go again. read more

Went to Marlows on Waterford lakes today (12-23-2020) with my friend and we asked to sit outside by the bar area. The hostess Levi was so nice !!! We asked if the window looking towards the bar could be opened and he so kindly said ...yes of course! . Mind you in was a little chilly night and we had our jackets. Well, to our surprise the female bartender jumps on the counter, opens the window and with not even an hello or giving us her name she says With an attitude ... "there will be a draft once I open this window and you will be cold. Are you good?? We looked at each other and thought .... well yes we are good... that's why we are outside. She then proceeds to open the second window and we didn't want her to be more upset and said.... it's ok just open one . She says that her manager will not like her opening just one window. Can't figure that one out. The whole time we were there she barely checked on us and she asked if my friend wanted to get another drink and even though I had maybe less than a third in my class she didn't ask me if I wanted anything to drink. She brought my friend his beer and she still didn't even ask if I wanted another glass. After a while when is it getting close for us to leave is when she asked if I wanted another glass of wine. I would've had another one ,but I was so disappointed at her attitude and her poor customer service. If she would've had good customer service I would've stayed there and ordered a second glass. The manager brought out their house made chips with a Gorgonzola sauce for us to try free since we had never been to the restaurant before. The food wasn't too bad... but the service was. Lunch took 2 hours! There was nobody in the restaurant! I ordered an appetizer that came out at the same time as my entree. So there I was with al this food at once. The waiter seemed less than interested to serve us. My boyfriend ordered the Ahi Poke bowl the avocados were mushy and nasty. Went to Marlow's Tavern spur of the moment a couple nights ago, and I'm very glad I did! The location is within Waterford, where there are tons of shops and other restaurants. We went around 7:30PM on a weeknight, and the Waterford area wasn't too busy with traffic. There's plenty of parking spots near and around Marlow's Tavern. Once you walk in, the set-up is very nice. They have televisions all around with plenty of booths on the left side, regular tables and high tops in the middle, a nice bar area on the right, and then a great outdoor area that is covered in case the weather is too cold, windy, rainy, etc. Once we were seated, the waitress came over and grabbed our drink orders. For a weeknight, it was relatively busy, but the waitresses/waiters were very attentive to their respective tables. Anyways, we decided to order the Marlow's Famous Hummus for an appetizer, the Tavern "Double Cheese" Cheeseburger, and the Grilled Chicken Panini. Everything was amazing! The hummus was filled with flavor and had great dippers (carrots, okra, pita, radish, and cucumbers). Shortly after we got the hummus, the entrees came out. The grilled chicken panini was great! It had bacon, tomato, cheese, arugula, grilled chicken, and a sauce in between ciabatta bread. All the flavors went together very well. The cheeseburger was great as well! It has the usual burger toppings (lettuce, onion, tomato, etc.) but it still had a lot of flavor, and the meat itself was very good. It was cooked perfectly! We didn't get to order it when we went, but some of their burgers come with their "House-Made" Tomato Bacon Jam (we'll have to try it another time though!). For our sides, we both got the hand-cut fries, but you can substitute a different side if you prefer (some cost a little extra, but the menu tells you which ones). Overall, it was a great experience and we both raved about it throughout the night! We really liked that they had healthy options on the menu. We were so full afterwards, we didn't get chance to have dessert. We were eyeing the Sweet Potato Bread Pudding though! It's on our list to order the next time we go, which hopefully will be soon! read more

For a bar restaurant, the food here is pretty decent. If you're looking for a good burger and fries with a slight twist this is your place. I got a plain burger with the bacon jam on the side and it was great! Fries are super crispy which is just how I like it! Absolutely amazing. Perfect service, the manager stopped by shortly after our drink order and brought us a half portion of the kettle chip app which were fantastic. Our server Marielle was very helpful and offered excellent recommendations, the black and bleu burger was flavorful and not over powering. The crab cake was the best we've ever had and the firecracker shrimp had just enough spice with great flavor. We finished the night with the creme brûlée which was exquisite.
