Food was arguably THE BEST Indian cuisine I've ever had! I ordered the chicken stuffed naan, samosas, tandoori roti, chicken biryani and a mango lassi. ALL WERE EXCELLENT! I didn't eat at the venue this time, so hopefully I will have time to eat there next time I visit. It was spacious (reminded me more of a bar with a large open area) and most of the booths were occupied when I walked in to pick up my order. I rarely ever leave reviews, but Masala Waves truly earned one. Everything about this place was outstanding, from the food to the service. We ordered the spinach dip naan, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, and a mango lassi, and every single item blew us away. The butter chicken was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, while the tandoori chicken was smoky, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The spinach dip naan was a creative surprise, warm, creamy, and completely addictive. The mango lassi was easily one of the best I've ever had, smooth, refreshing, and perfectly sweet. Our food took a little longer than expected, but the staff handled it really well. They were upfront, communicative, and accommodating while we waited. They even surprised us with their house-made coconut kulfi, which turned out to be another flavor explosion. It was creamy, aromatic, and the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Masala Waves completely crushed my expectations. You can tell they care deeply about both their food and their customers. We came to check out this place for a weekday lunch. We got the tikka masala pizza and the lamb curry lunch special. It came with a soup of the day (lentil soup) and a side (mixed vegetable side), and mango chutney. The pizza was on a naan, I wanted to try it because it's a unique item . It was pretty tasty and flavorful, a lot of melty cheese and the flavors went well together! It is a lot of food/kind of heavy though. The lentil soup was tasty but portion was a little small. The lamb curry was tasty and flavorful too. I wish the vegetables were a bigger portion. I wasn't a huge fan of mango chutney, it was kind of a sweet mango jam that was also salty at the same time. Not sure what it was to be eaten with. Overall good food for a pretty good deal, I would come again for lunch! read more

Friday night seated very quickly. This place is homey and clean and has plenty of seating. We got our appetizers and drinks fast but waited another 30mins for our entree and I had to ask the waiter when our food was coming as it was getting close to closing. My roommate and I absolutely loved the spinach dipped naan. Super fluffy and creamy and the yogurt dip was a refreshing touch of tang. Nepali style thali was great for a first visit to try a little bit of everything. Lamb was tender. We got a free pistachio kulfi which I think was to make up for the wait. I've tried Indian food once, haven't went back because of my lack of knowledge of the cuisine. First time at this vicinity and it was everything the comments have stated, amazing food and service. We had the lunch specials: mild chicken Tikka Masala and medium chicken Korma. The mild and medium refers to the spice level not size. The food was brought out quick. The chicken dishes were good, garlic naan was amazing especially paired with the Mango Chutney. Music was playing, decor was nice with a store front. The heat that lingers feels right in my soul. The staff was so super friendly and smiley and I love seeing that. I love the decor in the restaurant too. I always eat my go-to tikka masala at places like this. But this is the first time I've wanted to try other things. Still here debating if I have enough room to handle a pistachio kulfi. Delicious food! They are very polite, courteous, and very clean. We love the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, aloo gobhi, lamb madras, navaratna curry, and bhindi masala (personal favorite - they do an AMAZING job seasoning and preparing the okra. So soo good)! Also, their sauces are not watered down. This is very important as most places water them down for cost effectiveness. IYKYK. The one thing I recommend is that when you get takeout, to ask for more sauces (if you like the chutneys and tamarind sauces). You have to ask otherwise they will only give you one tiny cup of each sauce, which isn't proportional to the meal if you get more than 1 entree. This isn't the case when you dine in person though. Brought my wife here after my first visit a couple of months back. I ordered my food to go and loved it. So I told her we should go check it out.. Sat at the bar... Enjoyed their new beer they just got and ordered some great food. Their Samosas are huge and delicious... Their garlic nun was on point. Ordered Chicken Tikka and another chicken tonight. Had rice and a side of Masala sauce. Every thing was sooo good and fresh. The service was on point and they were busy... Definitely my new go to Indian food place. I'll be back very soon. Two words. BUTTER.CHICKEN. Takeout order: Butter Chicken ($16) - chicken was tender and the sauce was chefs kiss. The flavors of butter, spices and tomato were perfectly balanced. Big thumbs up was it wasn't too sweet like other butter chicken dishes I had. This is also a good Indian intro dish to serve to first timers. Lamb Curry ($17) - the dish looked like beef stew due to the color of the sauce. The flavor is deep and not as vibrant tasting like the butter chicken or tikka masala but was still enjoyable. Vegetable Pakora ($7) - fried vegetables covered in chickpea flour. I prefer to dip it in the mint green sauce instead of the chutney. Samosa ($6) - a must have when ordering Indian food. My husband, our 17-year-old son, and I spent Thanksgiving enjoying a scrumptious meal at Masala Waves. This year has been quite challenging for our family, and what made this meal even more meaningful was that it was a gift from Sal, the owner, and Shawn Kortes (HB Quarantine Cuisine FB group), who epitomize the spirit of giving from their hearts. I personally love Indian food and everything spicy; however, I was hesitant as my husband cannot handle too much spice, is not accustomed to Indian flavors, and my son usually eats only what he knows...burgers and pizza. Surprisingly, they were both excited about trying something new! We began our meal with the coconut shrimp, which was crispy and flavorful and came with a deliciously addictive sauce that I wanted to pour on everything. Sal, the owner, took a moment to chat with us and shared his passion for feeding the community, and actively participating in giving back to organizations like Robyn's Nest. To our surprise, he also brought us complimentary soup to try. The soup was creamy with a rich depth of flavor that everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed. While I initially thought it was Lentil Soup, it appeared to be a different texture compared to the one that accompanied my Thali plate, so I am unsure what it was... but it was delicious. For the main course, my husband opted for the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Naan, and his enjoyment was evident as he literally moaned with every bite! These dishes were also a big hit with our usually picky son. The Thali platter provided an excellent opportunity for me to sample an assortment of dishes, and we ended up with plenty of leftovers to take home. The food tasted even better the following day! Sal's warm hospitality and the outstanding dishes bursting with flavor turned our Thanksgiving into a wonderful adventure, discovering our newfound love of Indian cuisine as a family! Masala Waves is a must-visit! It's kind of unassuming in the far side of the shopping center across from the Ford dealership, so I may never have noticed it if I hadn't have had a craving for Chicken Tikka Masala and found this place on Yelp today. I am SO GLAD yelp recommended me, as I have found my new favorite South Asian restaurant! I'm happy to report that the chicken tikka did NOT disappoint! Also very happy I tried a super cool appetizer, chicken tikka naan, that's got all the flavor you could hope for wrapped in a soft, gooey, textural paradise. The traditional Nepali Thali was a revelation....so much goodness on one giant plate! With food this tasty, you really can't ask for more......but Masala Waves dares to go there. Icing on the cake....the staff couldn't be any friendlier or more welcoming; 5-star customer service. Our dear friends have been dying to take us here for a few weeks. We finally got together to try the place out. It's located in the old Wings n Things building on Beach, next to the original location of The Black Trumpet. The building is quite large so they do fit a ton of tables and parking is super easy. The owner, Sal, was busy meeting and greeting tables and our waitress was spot on all evening. The menu is quite expansive and they offer all of the known traditional choices as well as a bunch of dishes I had never heard of and some local twists like a Tikka Masala burrito and a naan pizza. No liquor license yet for this place (application pending) and they don't allow outside alcohol, so we pregamed at home. I let the other couple do tho ordering since one is a pescatarian and they had eaten takeout from here before. We simply added a lamb curry dish to satisfy me desire for meat. Everything we ordered as appetizers was quite delicious from the stuffed spinach dip naan and Nepali momo veggie (stuffed dumplings and an orange dipping sauce). For the main course we had the lamb, daal fry (lentils), saag peneer (cooked spinach), the tandoori fish and garlic naan. Each dish was super flavorful. Their rice is so wonderfully fluffy. So hard to get it that fluffy at home! Great food, great service and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit and close enough for me to add it to my list of takeout joints. read more

While I enjoy adding Indian food into my rotation, it can be difficult as Indian restaurants can be a hit or miss for me. Based on my two takeout experiences, I've enjoyed the food enough to warrant future return visits. They have most of the usual Indian dishes but also have some Nepalese dishes on the menu as well. I went with my usual favorites being biryani and butter chicken. I also decided to try out the momo dumplings, lamb curry, and their garlic naan. I enjoyed the chicken biryani as it was full of flavor, decent amount of chicken, and there wasn't as many whole spices left in that can ruin your bite. I ordered it "hot" but I didn't find it too spicy. The texture was pretty good. The rice wasn't too dry or too moist and holds up when reheating for leftovers. Butter chicken was another dish I enjoyed although basic. This paired perfectly with the naan! Chicken wasn't too dry either. Their garlic naan is perfect for me. Most places I've tried, the garlic flavor is very subtle. I liked how the garlic flavor was very prominent. Texture of the naan was soft, fluffy, but crispy in the right places. Perfect vessel for the saucy dishes. I'd definitely order more next time. The dishes I wasn't too fond of were the lamb biryani, lamb curry, and momo dumplings. The lamb itself was dry in both the curry and biryani. It was tender but very dry which made it unenjoyable. The dumplings were okay and an interesting dish to try, but I would have to eat it at the restaurant to enjoy it. The skin of the dumplings became tough and dry when eaten for takeout. It was a flavor I'm not used to tasting in a dumpling but it wasn't anything too special. I'll be back for my top 3, but hopefully will be able to try some new dishes as well. Would recommend trying this spot out if you're a fan of Indian food. read more
