Fast and reliable. The food is also very good, the pizza rates only behind Star Tavern that I've had in NJ. I've been ordering from master pizza for years and I've had some issues in the past with non delivery and late delivery, but the quality was always perfect. The last 6 times I've ordered from them, a variety of items, pasta, pizza, cold sub, hot subs etc have tasted awful. Whether the chicken wasn't fully cooked, or it was overcooked. They'd use different ingredients that either were or weren't selected when ordering online. It seems they don't look in the special instructions box anymore when ordering online. We've ordered a few times and always hit or miss. We were hungry and ordered last night for last minute dinner but it was our last. First of all let me start off with a warning. Do not eat this pizza!!! It will leave you feeling like vomiting or diarrhea or some combo of the two. It is by far the worst pizza I've ever had and I have had a lot of pizza. If you pick any random pizza place in Jersey it will be better than this place. The last time I had pizza from here I tasted 3 types cheese, pepperoni, and some type of potato Bacon thing. The cheese is by far the worst. When you get the pizza it doesn't even look real it looks like those cartoon drawings of a pizza. The cheese on the pizza is what makes the pizza so terrible. It tastes like play dough and overall does not look appetizing. The sauce is the second problem. I know for a fact they opened a jar of your standard pasta sauce already with the ingredients in it. That sauce is crap. They add sugar in it when tomato sauce doesn't need any sweetness. The dough tastes like frozen pizza dough. Now I will compliment one thing. That potato Bacon cheese thing actually has a good taste to it because they don't use the sauce and its a better cheese. Problem is its over priced and will leave you feeling sick afterward if your not used to eating crap food. If you are so desperately seeking a slice of pizza from this place, have a strong stomach and aren't afraid of getting food poisoning then go ahead and have a slice. My biggest problem with this place is that its pizza isn't real pizza. It's far from Italian. Lots of people from Livingston seem to enjoy eating this pizza and its been in business awhile so they must be doing something right. But seriously, go somewhere else. The crust was thin and soggy and the cheese was heavy and not warm enough or just a type of cheese that didn't melt quite right. They have a system that makes ordering a breeze and remember your credit cards so you won't have to give it every time you order. The food is fine, but I'm writing this review in the hopes that they'll catch it and stop putting plastic utensils in our order. We always request no utensils in the notes of our weekly order, but because they always miss it, we've even called a few times to request that they don't put it in. But it always ends up in our order. Last time I called and mentioned this issue, the guy who answered said it's hard to get the team to read the notes. I suggested that it be the default to not include plastic unless requested, and he said then those who want it wouldn't get it because no one would read the note. I think that's bad logic. Either way, you potentially have upset customers (either those that want plastic and don't get it, or those who don't and do get it). And why not go for the solution that helps the environment, saves your business money, and makes some customers happy? I really wish master pizza (and other restaurants) would get on board with a more environmentally-friendly approach. We're in a pandemic, it was a Saturday evening and our address includes an apartment number, so we have silverware in our home. so the default should just be no plastic unless requested (even when the pandemic is over). It's a win-win - they save money for not using plastic utensils and the "zero-use" plastic doesn't go straight to the landfill. I really don't understand why more businesses don't do this and why it's a struggle to get businesses on board. read more

On Friday evening I ordered a large pizza with x-tra sauce and ex-tra cheese, a large tossed salad and a small pasta fagioli. They said delivery would be about an hour and it was. However, when the delivery got to the front desk of the hotel the delivery guys calls me to ask me to meet him in the lobby to get the order. I finally got him to bring the order to the room. He hands me the bag with the salad then open his padded bag for the hot stuff. He pulls out the bag with the soup and half the soup is in the bag the other half still in the container. Hands me the pizza box which I immediately notice is extremely heavy on one side. I open the box and all of the cheese and sauce is on 1/3 of the crust and the rest is in the corners of the box soaking the cardboard to the point of failure. on top of all this, the pizza is luke warm at best. Then he wants to give me options. What an ass. I slam the door on him and tell him to get lost. I now call to speak to the owner/manager, on hold for 8-10 minutes, still no pick up. Needless to say the only edible thing was the salad and that's because it is supposed to be tossed. I made a large order for a party this weekend, and I was a little nervous because I'd never even had a slice of pizza from this place, but everything was great. It was for a surprise party, and the driver was right on time. All of the food was delicious, I got several different pizzas, salad, rice balls, everyone loved it. I've been ordering pies from here since the mid-90s and in my humble opinion, it's the closest thing you can get around here to NYC style pizza. Thin crusted, greasy, so cheesy it almost falls off, just the way I like it (although I'm sure this isn't for everyone). One of our favorites is the margherita pizza. Very very disappointing. When ever I was in the West Orange/Livingston area at lunch time I would stop in for delicious margarita pizza. I would grab a couple of slices and be on my way. So enjoyable, fresh mozzarella, plum tomato sauce, fresh basil, maybe some olive oil and THATS IT! Well tonight I ordered a margarita pie that someone else picked up. This was not the pizza I was expecting. This was amateur at best. It had regular mozzarella sliced which looked waxy, plum tomato sauce, some fresh basil, and alot of dried basil, which doesn't even belong on there. When I called to question what I had received, I had to explain to two different people and I guess the second guy was of importance because he got defensive. He insisted it was the same pie, same recipe as always. Half hearted he offered a new pie , but said it would be the same thing. Yeah, that helps! Needless to say I will never go back and not recommend this place to anyone I care about.
