amazing! order from the kiosk when you enter, hella flavors to choose from. hokkaido milk: it was okay, kind of played as a palette cleanser between the matcha flavors uji matcha #3: delicious, very strong flavor jasmine matcha #2: my favorite of the 3. strong jasmine floral flavor in the best way I had to stop myself from eating more than half because it was 9pm and I also couldn't sleep til 2am.. so be aware of that!

omg this place is soooo tasty and legit! matcha was very strong and the hokkaido milk ice cream paired with the creamy hojicha was good i 100% recommend trying this place if you like very strong matcha !!

Solid dessert stop in the South Bay. Not a lot of seating (~20 people for the whole store) and orders come out pretty quick. Decently-sized menu for drinks and gelato. Lots of gelato flavors to choose from -- was cool to see less common flavors like osmanthus fermented rice! All asian flavors too. We got two scoops in a cone: the extra rich matcha and hojicha. Solid gelato that was pretty creamy and both matcha and hojicha flavors were strong.

I tried the matcha einspanner and the gelato over matcha and they were so deep and rich. The matcha flavor was strong and not too sweet, just the way I like it. You order on a kiosk and it comes out pretty fast. There was plenty of seating and the overall vibe was earthy and relaxed. Definitely my new go to for matcha if I'm in the area!

My sister wanted to go here and it was my first time! I loved the huge selection of matcha ice creams based on its level / richness. My sister for the level 4 - Uji matcha, and I got level 2, the Jasmine tea matcha! Definitely will be back to try the drinks or the other matcha levels!

Had a chance to try Matsu Matcha and had a great experience. This is a nice cafe type store where you can buy matcha drinks / sweet treats. The interior was nice and comfortable with tables/chairs. For our order, it was a hot day so we went with ice cream which was yummy! We got half ube and half of the almond fig one which was delish. We got our order pretty quickly which was nice, would definitely go back to try the drinks next time!

I tried the guava matcha which was well balanced and not too sweet as recommended. It took about a half hour to get the drink on the weekend but worth it if you're not in a rush. They have some seating inside as well but it can be a bit loud. Overall the drink was good and a good experience.

I finally found a matcha shop that has quality matcha! Maybe slightly expensive, but on par with other matcha shops in the area. I've enjoyed their crème brûlée and the strawberry matcha. For the later I did 30% and I could even go 0% since the strawberry's are sweet. I highly recommend - I'll be back.

Perfect for matcha lovers! Matsu has a variety of strength levels & flavors for both their drinks & their gelato. Parking / vibe: lots of parking as Matsu is in a plaza with many other businesses. They have an alright amount of seating inside but it can get packed pretty quick. Very clean & organized, though. Drinks / Gelato: as someone who LOVES strong matcha, this is the perfect spot. We tried the triple matcha & banana pudding matcha einspanner which were both great. We also got tried their ube, black sesame, ultra rich matcha, & hojicha gelato. My top 2 had to be the triple matcha & black sesame gelato but honestly enjoyed everything.

[Food/Drinks] - Gelato in cup ($8.25): Can choose up to 3 flavors, but I choose Strawberry Cheesecake & Hojicha. Both were really good and helped balanced each other out as the Strawberry Cheesecake gelato was a tad sweet. - Hojicha Latte ($6.65): Pretty good, although I think next time I would increase the sweetness a bit. [Service] - Order via kiosk and pick up your order once you see your order # on the screen or when the staff calls your name [Overall] - Would come back again for the gelato!

When in need of a late night sweet treat, Matsu Matcha is a good option. Despite coming here at 9pm (to be fair, on a Saturday), there was a long line out the door. They also had a 10% discount on the gelato for the last hour before closing. There is only one kiosk to order off of, so it took us around 15 minutes to get inside and place our orders. The seating was full, but we were able to snatch a table when someone was leaving. The menu was quite large, so it was hard to even pick what to get! There's ice cream, drinks, and parfaits that all looked tempting. We ended up getting the peach rice mochi yogurt, extra strong matcha latte, and uji matcha #3 / ultra rich matcha #5 gelato scoops. The peach rice mochi yogurt tastes exactly like Yoplait peach yogurt (almost wondering if that's what they used LOL), but the mochi inside was suuuper satisfying - added great chew and texture to the drink. But would probably just make at home myself next time with Yoplait. The extra strong matcha latte was indeed very strong, and they for sure didn't skimp out on the matcha. Very rich, and a mix of earthiness and sweetness. The gelato was very flavorful as well, with a clear difference in strength between the #3 and #5. I'm personally a fan of not-super-sweet ice creams, so I was a fan of these two scoops. I'd try avoiding the line and wait next time (although I'm not too sure what the best time of day would be for that), but I'll be ordering the parfait to try next!

I was excited try Matsu Matcha with so many matcha spots popping up in South Bay. We came by on a Saturday afternoon and luckily there wasn't much of a wait. I got an iced bayberry matcha while my partner opted for the peach yogurt drink. The bayberry matcha was nice but I thought it could have been creamier. Bayberry is one of my favorite fruits but somehow in the matcha, it was pretty grainy and didn't mix well. The peach yogurt drink was good - we got it 30% sweet so it was a tad bland but still refreshing. Overall not bad but I do wish the drinks were a bit better.

We got the red bean and the strawberry flavors - the portions were very large for a bay-area reasonable price of less than $15 item. It was my first visit and honestly, I was a bit disappointed; while there were lots of fresh fruits, I found the flavor bland and not sweet enough - which may be someone's jam? I wished it had more condensed milk to give it a more creamy flavor. The shaved ice was beautiful and fluffy - i'd say this is the main draw that may bring me back to try new flavors. There is plenty of seating inside for tables of two or even small groups. Parking can be difficult since many popular establishments are in the same strip mall so plan ahead for parking time.

I chose to do a DIY regular taco with s'mores ice cream, peanut butter dip, and oreo toppings. The flavors mixed so well together! None of it was overpowering the other, so you're able to enjoy each bite and not feel overloaded by the end. They freeze dry the taco as well so it doesn't melt right away once it hits your hands. This is the perfect place to grab a sweet treat on any occasion! BIG heads up though, it can get extremely busy especially on a weekend (was here on a Sunday evening). I think we went on a day where they might've been short a few people, but we did wait over an hour for our order. From my observations there is a process for the tacos. They have to mold the ice cream in, then keep it in the freezer for a few minutes for it to hold its shape, and customize it after. If you're willing to wait that long for ice cream then I'd say this place is definitely worth it.

FOOD/MEALS: 8/10 As for their meals, I thought they were good, but not quite as memorable as the pastries. I ordered the avocado toast, and while it was hearty and generously loaded, I felt like there was just a little too much going on. You can really taste the quality of the espresso, and I appreciate that it's not overly sweet. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff is quick, efficient, and constantly on the move. This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.
