Clutch City Shrimp Burger and Fries
    CJ G.

The service was great. The food was average. Nothing stood out. There are a lot of burger and bar food options, they have a full bar, and if you like sports-there are a lot to TVs. May be a good place to hang out and watch a game.

Located in the former Studewood Cantine location. Parking is available in their adjacent parking lot. The interior is very much a sports bar vibe, similar to a Pluckers feel. Service was very good although they were very empty during lunch service. Their menu is half burgers and many different kinds with similar ingredients. The other half of their menu composes of hot dogs and other baskets. I tried their classic steak burger with a triple patty configuration and no cheese. Ordered sweet potato fries but got their brought regular fries. The beef patties were described as smashburgers but ended up as a bit bland and overcooked; they didn't have any crispy texture to them either as you would expect from a smash burger. The fries were very crispy but a bit one note. The buns are not scratch made from what I can tell. It was a lot of food and a very filling meal but this isn't an above and beyond version of a burger that was expected.

I ordered the Matty G classic steak burger with 2 beef patties weighing 4 oz each and fully dressed for $16.95 with french fry dippers as my side dish from the waitress. While waiting for the meal to arrive, I observed this large restaurant with a full bar that has a sports bar theme with many large TV's to watch whatever game you choose. There is also a small stage for live music, I assume. Parking is on the street along with a private lot on the side of the building. The meal arrived shortly after and it looked nice. The grilled onions on top of the beef with cheese in the middle and lettuce and tomato made me happy. The unusually shaped french fry dippers also looked good and appeared as advertised. I enjoyed the burger. The taste was there and it was filling too. I realized about half way through it that next time I will order a single 4 oz patty as that is plenty of meat for me. The french fry dippers were also enjoyable and delicious too. They are robust in size and hold ketchup well. Next time I would like to try one of their lobster rolls along with some more of those dippers. Table service was good too. I like Matty G's and would be happy to return. Nice place for a game!

How the Carne Asada Fries are described on the menu.

Made it out to Matty G's the other night. My dinner date and I we immediately greeted, at the door. The atmosphere was festive and they had a karaoke dj set up. We started with the Happy Hour Lemon Drops, they were delicious and on point. We then ordered the Carne Asada Fries. When they arrived to the table, we were confused. The fries came with canned Rico's cheese and CHOPPED UP GROUND HAMBURGER MEAT. We asked for the sour cream, Pico de Gallo and Jalapeños on the side. We asked the waiter if the incorrect meat was served on the fries. He said that was the meat they used and also agreed it was not CARNE ASADA. May possibly return and get a burger. Still, we were disappointed.

This place was actually really good. We found it while I'm looking for the sushi place next-door and decided to get a lobster roll. They weren't very busy but they had karaoke and it was a good time. A couple had gotten engaged.. lobster roll was so good, but keep in mind. This is Texas. So are her lobster rolls are not like from New England. But we plan on going back because the menu was excellent and so was the service. Thanks, Megan.

Needed a drink and noticed they had "shareables" on the menu, problem was, I didn't have anyone to share with. (Not that I was gonna let that stop me.) I was fully prepared to drink it solo, but Shelby came through and made me a single version of the "We Are Family", vodka and rum that definitely hit the spot. Ordered the classics burger with one patty and somehow ended up with two. No way I was finishing that beast in one sitting. It was hot, juicy, and stacked like it had something to prove. Fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned; everything just hit right. Service was faster than I expected. They're still new but will be rolling out specials and happy hours after their grand opening at the end of October. Karaoke and trivia on Fridays, live music on Saturdays, basically, plenty of reasons to come back. Next time, maybe I'll bring someone to share the drinks.... lol

Good God! My husband's burger with double patties, green chili's and cream cheese was AMAZING! My basic burger was very good and my garlic fries were some of the best I've ever had. We arrived late around 10 PM for a splurge meal. I'm glad they stayed open late because it's difficult to find good meals at that time of the evening. There were a few people there some of which were doing karaoke. Service was quick and our waitress was sweet and accommodating as we kept moving tables. Music was a bit loud for us so we ate on the patio. They have a pretty decent outdoor area. I would just skip their mocktails. They were very underwhelming. I can't wait to return!

WOW! SOOOOO many burger choices...I LOVE it...took me a long while to choose what I wanted because everything sounded so good. Had to keep telling the wait staff to come back because there were so many choices haha. I gotta say, their burgers are SO good! And the onion rings super crisp outside just how I like it. Can't find it like that everywhere, at least not where I'm from. Wait staff was super pleasant and I would LOVE to go back if I'm in the area again!

    "Lobsta' Rolls"

No need to go back... My husband picked up lunch for us today and I was so excited to try their version of a Lobster Roll because we drove by and saw a sign on THEIR OWN ESTABLISHMENT that read "Lobsta Rolls." It was actually "lobster slaw" and it wasn't even real lobster. It also wasn't seasoned, which you would think that would be the bare minimum if you're throwing slaw into a sandwich. They put two very large shrimp on top that had ZERO flavor. The bread not only tasted old, but was also so hard that it broke in my first attempt for a bite and had crumbs everywhere. If that was their attempt at toasting a bun, they need to revisit that process. Their fries were ok. No great, I've had worse but definitely not a place I need to go back to for just some good fries. My husband got a burger and his only response was "trash! Trash! Trash!... and who still ruins fries in 2025?!."

This spot is in my neighborgood so stopped by to see what it was about. Place is nice inside...laid back vibe...sports decor. TVs with the games on. LaDarius...our server...did a great job. Explained a few things about the menu. Was very attentive and took care of us. The burgers and fries are very good. Well seasoned. Hot dog was good. All in all it was a great experience. The manager Shelby is really cool, too. My fam and I will be going back. If you are in the area and are craving a good burger. Drop in.

You have to try this new burger place in the heights! They have so many options to try but I just did the classic and the flavor was amazing! I had to try the regular fries, sweet potato fries and dippers. They were all delicious! They also have shareable drinks that come in gigantic martini glasses. We tried the rum punch and loved it. Melissa made it and she was wonderful! Great severe and really personable.

Burger was delicious and the jalapeño poppers were super fresh whole jalpenos. Great bar food. Easy to kill a huge burger and fries here.

They also have dog bowls and water for your pups if needed. The bartender/owner was great, she let me try a beer before committing and checked on me several times during my stay there. It's nice to see they added more seating and more personal touches to the place. There's artwork to purchase on the walls, more tvs, additional cans of seltzer or thc drinks if that's more of your style. I love how it's locally owned and brewed. They were having smoked wings. 6 for $10 or 10 for $15. Comes with chips, carrots/celery and ranch. They were quite smokey, a lil salty but still delicious. The vibes are chill and they had football on. All and all a great place to stop by for a beer.

We ended up being mostly the only ones in the brew house for most of the evening which was a surprise, we enjoyed the beers and the service. There is a local brewery that is inside the brew house, Turkey Forrest Brewing. We enjoyed the hazy IPA, cream ale, and a watermelon tajin ale they had on tap. They also have beers and canned beverages from a variety of other places and popular canned drinks too, to suit any preference. My boyfriend and I had a really fun time playing board games they had available and chilling out. There were also Halloween movies and a playlist playing. Seems like we were there on a slow night, they appear to have events throughout the week such as a run club and bingo nights. Definitely a fun, chill option in the area!

It's a nice lowkey neighborhood spot with a bar and outdoor seating as well. The ambiance was chill and casual which I am all for. They are pet friendly as I got to see some fur babies come in which is always nice. We started with some glasses of Cabernet and told our waiter we were celebrating my birthday. The food didn't take long to come out and was so darn good. It was probably one of the best steak nights I've had in a while. We had the ribeyes, mash potato, mac and cheese, green beans, and French fries. The steak was seasoned perfectly and grilled to the perfect temperature to my liking. We are still talking about it, I can't wait to come back and try their chimichurri sauce. We ended with the strawberry and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cheese cake. They weren't too sweet and just the right amount of richness. If they aren't on your list for steak night I definitely recommend!
