Terminal 1 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
    Tina C.

Store# 23573 that resides at Terminal 1, John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) food court pre-TSA security screening before gate departures entrance. While waiting patiently to place my order for one measly breakfast sandwich, the cashier associate fulfilled one's order before mine and immediately turned her back to empty the coffee maker replacing the filter. The woman did not acknowledge my presence to serve me immediately who cannot hone her interpersonal skills of value added customer service by typically ignoring me. N.B. Extra condiments in any form requires an additional surcharge to one's order. Furthermore with a sprightly lively "good morning" in conjunction with my charming smile, I get no response from this callous and rude McDonald's staff worker. Customer service is nonexistent for the veneer of professionalism and respect has gone down into the TOILET!! This object is not human as she has no life in her eyes, no facial expression!! Can she say "Obama, get me a job?" as your unfathomably nasty attitude will take you to the unemployment line!!

    Burnt egg mcmuffin.

This place should be shut down. Employees have major attitude problem. They should be all fired and replaced. I ordered egg mcmuffin and it was all burnt. The replacement one was burnt even more. And they gave attitude when giving the second one. I'm definitely calling the corporate office to complain.

This was the only place where we got beer... it was expensive and the service was so slow, but we had no other choice.. Average ambience . It's super popular since it's one of the view relatively affordable food options in Terminal 8, so seating tends to get crowded, there's usually a short line from noon thru the afternoon and early evening times though they are pretty efficient in both taking and processing orders. The line to order and the kitchen directly behind it--are along the left side of the restaurant, there are both registers to place in-person orders or kiosks to order digitally. Then you step over to the waiting area which is at the front left of the storefront, kinda pouring out into the terminal walkway. Seating is in the middle and right and consists in about 30 seats at tables for 2 or bar seating along the right wall. The space is pretty cramped considering travelers with carry-ons. Food-wise I got a chicken shack and side of fries ($18.26 including tax) which I was satisfied with, the meat was juicy and the exterior crunchy. The fries were crinkle cut and not too crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.bun was soft though held up the protein, tomato, onions a couple slices of pickles and piece of lettuce (I elected to add the toppings). I'd drop by again if I was hungry and waiting for a flight in terminal 8. Interestingly enough they had a staff member that was approaching patrons asking them how their experience was and asking (nicely) if they could write reviews on Google, no benefits attached whatsoever though sounds like they were hoping for some positive reviews and also asking for feedback.

The area where Customs Burgers is crowded. However, they make it easy with online ordering via a QR code. There is also a few self ordering kiosks in front of the restaurant. I ordered a simple cheeseburger that came with a side of fries. I forgot how much I paid for it, but it was more than I would like to have. Anyways, it was okay for what it was since I was hungry. Wait time was about 15 minutes, not too bad for a dinner rush. I stepped away for a bit and my husband told me the guy was chill behind the counter. Ordered a classic burger with French fries. No pickles and cheese in burger, only ketchup. The order comes with a side of fries. The burger was okay, not as handcrafted as you expect. However, I expect it from airport food and the fries were good. The hamburger and fries are good for a quick meal grab. Expect expensive prices and food not to be so delicious but gets you fuel at least through your flight. Accepted all types of payment.

Now you can conveniently order a burger in no time from a location in the airport. You place your food order from a touch screen kiosk. You can also watch your order being prepared by employees in the kitchen. This location has the typical Shake Shack vibe and flair. I ordered the single-patty ShackBurger, a made-to-order quarter pound patty of 100% Angus beef with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. The burger really hit the spot before a flight. The burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and made fresh, with the perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and bun. Simple, classic, and satisfying. For an airport location, the quality held up surprisingly well. Service was a bit slow but everything came out hot and neatly put together. Prices are a bit higher at the airport, but the consistency and flavor made it worth it. Solid choice if you're craving a reliable burger at JFK and want something familiar and filling before takeoff.

Perhaps they're evocative of my childhood and youth, when every diner and burger joint served them. So I headed to Shake Shack for some lovely delicious fries. Ordering is a pain. You use a kiosk. No live people. I had gotten a bottle of water. The screen said to "scan" any other items. There is no barcode and no scanner. After saying three or four times that I couldn't scan the water, someone came over. You have to page through the menu. Ugh. Paid, typed in my name, and waited. And waited. Finally, my name was called, and I got my fries and some napkins. I sat I a lounge chair right across from Shake Shack, and.....the fries were cold. Terrible, awful, crushing disappointment. I so rarely eat fries these days. I was anticipating hot, golden, lovely crispy fries. I got lukewarm semi-limp mostly underdone fries. A sad, sad feeling. There's no seating at Shake Shack, but you can sit at a gate or take your food with you. Employees were working very hard, so it's strange that my fries were cold. I picked them up right away when my name was called. I probably won't come back, if I am in this terminal another time.
