Been here a number of times. I stopped by and ordered carne asada tacos. Each one was $5 so I was expecting them to be damn good. Two tortillas + chopped, chewy, meat. (I can't stand double-tortilla tacos.) Did you hear me? I said... $5 FOR TWO TORTILLAS + CHOPPED, CHEWY, MEAT! I ordered 3 so that's $15 FOR TWO TORTILLAS + CHOPPED, CHEWY, MEAT! I could have been eating the cat they caught behind their nasty ass store. ZERO FLAVOR. ZERO SEASONING. ZERO EVERYTHING. They have a salsa bar where you can get onions, salsa, peppers, and parsley. All the parsley still had their stems on them. Yes, I added onions, salsa, and parsley WITH THEIR STEMS STILL ON THEM to make my $5-each-taco taste better. They did not. The carne asada tacos here suck balls and are a major rip. I barely ate the second one and didn't bother eating the last. Don't waste your $$. They don't even have Al Pastor. Super yummy, super authentic Mexican food in the valley. This was actually my first time in Reseda, and boy am I glad I came here for dinner on New Year's day. The basket of tortilla chips was plentiful and only cost $1 if you dine in. My wet beef burrito was smothered in cheese and FILLED with shredded beef. I think it was all meat and no fillers. Definitely tasty and filling. The meat was tender and juicy, perhaps just a bit on the salty side, but very flavorful. I liked how there was so many different kinds of salsas from the side bar to help yourself with. I stuck with the mild options because I can't take a lot of spice. I wish there was a medium option, but I just made do with a teeny bit of the spicy salsa tempered with more of the mild kind to dip my chips in. Disappointment. I expected more from this establishment since it's in the same family as Señor Sol. There's a lack of attention to detail happening, place needs a good cleaning, menus were a little dirty (looked everywhere for a menu until the cashier gave me one). There was a sign posted that they would be closed on 06/07/22 because they would not have enough staff--I'd like to think that that may explain the condition of the restaurant. All that being said, owners of this restaurant: please take a hard look at Melodys and address these concerns for we, your customers, notice. You'll still get me patronage at Señor Sol but never again at Melody's. read more

The bomb. I've been coming here for over 20 years (wow, I'm old). The sister restaurant of Las Fuentes and Sol y Luna, this location is my family's favorite. Their salsa is to die for and enhances any of their already well-made dishes. A few of my favorites I've found over the years: Their wet burrito has an amazing salty and creamy sauce and really makes the burrito. Their rice is ridiculously flavorful for being such a simple thing. The salpicon tostadas are also wonderful. Rice and beans are ok the bottom topped with a salad and sour cream. Simple, yet well done. An unexpected favorite of the menu that really hits the spot alongside any of their dishes is their strawberry milkshake, do not miss this. It's no wonder Melody's maintains the consistent line of people they've had since they opened! read more

I have been here maybe 2 or 3 times . The first time it was ok. So I wanted to give it another try I went yesterday with co-workers. We ordered and sat down. I wanted steak enchiladas and beans and rice. The employee told me they only have shredded steak and chicken enchiladas. So I ordered a carne Asada Burrito and I asked for spicy red sauce or enchilada sauce. I mentioned I didn't want the usual sauce they put on burrito. They normally use some weird yellowish sauce that tastes super bland, like a cream sauce. The dish itself had no flavor no chili powder in anything. So when the plate comes it had that same bland ass sauce on it. Now since I was with my co-workers and I suggested the place . I didn't want to show that I made the wrong choice for lunch but in my mind I was resenting the fact I chose this place and it was obvious by the time we left because I had 1/2 a plate of food left. I asked the server for spicy red sauce when she brought my plate and she said ok and never came back with anything. The problem is, that you got people who are criminally casual minded, who don't listen and are not committed to providing quality service. They are very robotic and not very restaurant intelligent. I also asked for grilled peppers on the side and the lady stuffed a ton of cheese and peppers in the burrito with very little steak. Now the steak in the burrito was the same steak they could have put in the Enchiladas, I asked for at the beginning. Why they couldn't put that steak in the enchiladas I dont know? But it would not have mattered that steak was back street meat trash. like the worst quality every bite was either fat or grisel. Not one firm piece of steak in the whole burrito which had about 10 small pieces and the rest was meat flakes not big enough to call pieces. The steak/fat pieces were inedible. My co-workers albondigas soup was horrible as well. Listen this is the place you don't even come to as a last resort. If you want good fresh steak and people who listen and provide what you ask for. This was a sh^t show for sure. I'll never even walk by this place let alone attempt to eat there. If you eat here just know its bottom barrel. I should have gone to Taco bell. When you come across a Mexican restaurant with Hispanic older women behind the stove, you know it's going to be good food. Parking - there is parking lot available. Although this may seem like a typical dining restaurant with servers/tips and "can I get this, can I order that" - well, it's not . You have to stand in line, order, pay upfront, then take your assigned number and sit down while you wait for someone to serve your food. The establishment isn't too large, but there is much seating space/benches and tables for use. In terms of the food, you can expect your standard quesadillas, burritos tacos etc etc.- common Mexican favorites. My husband and I ordered asada fries (equipped w/ sour cream, sauce, guacamole and beans) and a Wet burrito. I have to give it to the asada fries, they were fabulous! I looked around and the food portions were large. Large enough, 2 people can share the asada fries. Asada fries , wet burrito and drink = $19. What a deal! There is a self-serve sauce area - feel free to restock on sauce. In order to use the restroom (which seems hidden and is located outside the building by the parking area) you need a small token. Ordered a veggie burrito, no cheese, no guacamole ( because it has cheese.) The first burrito they brought out had a cheese sauce on top. They took it back and made us another one (after a very long wait already for the first,) and the second one I found I piece of stake in. Also, the verbs tasted like it had meat stock in it, even though we were told by one of the cashiers that also said she was vegan, that there wasn't. I know it's not their fault, they are not a vegan restaurant, but they do claim to have vegan options on their yelp, and I think this needs to be taken off, because they do not. Was excited to try this place for the first time. Parking was terrible, staff not very welcoming or friendly just seemed to want to get ahead of the afternoon rush. Unfortunately, the food was good but not great. I ordered a chicken wet burrito which was acceptable but bland in flavor. Also, not very wet at all just smothered in a strange thick cheese sauce. Chicken tacos were not "street" tacos but more like American tacos with lettuce and tomatoes. They were not bad, crispy but so greasy. Surprised that they came with No Pico De Gallo, No cilantro...the steak burrito was dry and had no rice and beans no dressings at all. The asada tacos were very disappointing because they were simply meat thrown into a shell. No Pico, No Salsa, nothing. Seems like my food was wrongly prepared or incomplete. I hate putting in bad reviews but it has happened too many times consistently and no one does anything about it. My soups were so salty and unstable, the spicy salsa doesn't taste the same anymore as it has old tomatoes that are bitter and ruining the salsa taste. I ordered chicken tacos hard shell and I could not bite into the chicken as it was dry and burned. I drive a distance to come here and I know all the staff the owners and managers. I had the big Plato pollo and it was absolutely amazing staff is nice and friendly. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because parking is very small and hectic!
