Safe place for Tex-Mex food. I've been here on occasion and have tried different things. The food is good. My coworkers/friends were looking for a place to have a get-together. It was a large group and Debra the manager assisted us in making arrangements and was phenomenal! Everyone wore masks and hand sanitizer was available as soon as we walked in as well as in the restroom and at the end of the bar. I don't understand the argument over masks. I have not been in 4 years and the service and food was incredible. We got the brisket tacos and mi Tierra tacos. The tacos were flavorful and meat was tender. *Editing review and star rating from 2 to 4 stars: I received a comment and message from customer service asking for my contact info to have someone reach out about my experience and was contacted the next day by Ray, the restaurant director. He informed me that he had already spoken with the staff about how to present the check to customers during the M-F lunchtime rush but assured me that after 2PM, servers should not be setting the check down preemptively. If they do, they should mention that the check is there for the customer's convenience. His mentality is that people will make mistakes if they're never taught the right way to do something - this I can understand and resonate with. Given his active efforts to correct the situation and apologetic tone, I truly believe that his intentions were sincere and have high hopes for this restaurant. I'm not really sure how authentic Mi Cocina is in terms of Mexican food but the busy crowds seem to indicate that people like it. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice but the presentation of the food makes it look like any other basic Mexican restaurant. My poblano chicken enchiladas were dry and not very hot. I think they left my food sitting out for too long while they were preparing my friend's fajitas. We were never asked if we needed anything else or if we wanted dessert. Instead, our server presented the check on the table prematurely as if he wanted us to leave. I realize that there were people waiting, but we were still dining. read more

To be completely honest, this is the best Mi Cocina location in the DFW area, if you can call any of them the best. The food is very low quality but cheap. I grew up in the restaurant business since I was 8 years old, my father was a chef. I have worked in every position of the restaurant from front of the house to back of the house. I ended up building restaurants for a living. That said, WOW...just WOW!!! I was honestly taken back by my experiance today. I have been to this restaurant many times before and experienced the same results, but never took the time to write a review. The minute we walk through the door, the Hostess was was Clean, Polished and Professional, we were seated and given our choice of tables for this time of the day. The restaurant and bathrooms were CLEAN, organized and very well managed and in control. My wife said in the 5 minutes we have been here the service and friendliness has been outstanding!!! My wife had a big smile on her beautiful face. My Man Rafeal, greeted us and said, I'll be right back to take care of you. Back servers dropped chips and salsa, and they even dropped a plate for us each. Many restaurants forget to do this. Who drops food on a table and doesn't put down a plate...(Barbaric...I tell you) great recommendations for food. We ordered our drinks, which came out cold, tasty and intoxicating :-))) We ordered our food and again, hot, tasty and beautiful plating. Constantly be checked on by Rafael and Jose. This is one of the TexMex restaurants that I probably would come back for tacos. I love their brisket tacos . It's so good, well I only had a bite of my husband's and I loved it. So good that my husband only had to offer one nite with me LOL. I had their grilled chicken tacos and i thought the meat would be dry but nope, I was wrong. It tastes good with the lettuce, cheese, rice and avocado. I couldn't ask for more. My sister in law loves tacos so I'll make sure to recommend this one to her. However, I had a friend in town who wanted to try Tex Mex and so we went to this place since it was close to where he was staying. I ordered the taco salad (shredded chicken) and a posole soup. Everything I ordered was delicious. My friend had a combo plate with a taco, a enchilada and tamale. He thought it was delicious too. I would recommend this place to others if they want Tex Mex. I would give negative star if there is a option. My boyfriend and I dine at mi Cocina all the time, but I feel very disappointed with a recent experience. A few days ago, I left my wallet with all my documents (driver license, credit cards, etc) on the chair, I went back a couple times to talk to the manager and see if someone returned my wallet. On Tuesday noon, I decided to look in the back dumpster. Surprisingly, I found one of my credit cards in the dumpster suck on the bottom with the greasy. that means one of the employees kept my wallet and threw away my documents. This is the only way it can be explained. As a Customers would not go back to the mi Cocina dumpster to throw away my documents if the customers took it, as they would have to drive to a back alley. I am hundred percent that one of the employees kept it. First, they have to clean the table after each customer. second, one of my credit cards in their dumpster. I'm very disappointed that the manager there first responded was questioning authenticity of what we said, and did not believe that it was found in the dumpster. So, I immediately showed him a picture of me in the dumpster. Instead of trying to find the employee that took the wallet, the manager instead said it was probably a customer. That is almost impossible, as a customer would not drive behind mi Cocina to throw away the contexts in the wallet. Today this person can steal my wallet,tomorrow this person can steal anyone's value. Bad habits come from small things. The worst part of it was the dismissive attitude of the various managers. My rating is solely based on the lack of flavor the guacamole displayed. It was extremely BLAND and over priced. $7.95 for one scoop of guacamole that was hardly mashed. It comes off as a fine dining restaurant but I won't waste money here again. Ordered fajita plate to see if it was any good and it wasn't. Just was over priced and the meat was not even marinated or anything had no flavor. Salsa tasted like they used tomato paste from a can was very disappointing.
