I had such a wonderful experience using Michael and Sons! I came home from vacation to a leaky basement and saw they had good reviews so I called them and they were able to send someone that day! Daniel Attah was my initial technician and he was amazing! He was so kind and thorough and helped guide me through this stressful aspect of home ownership! He also helped me save so much money and was very transparent about every step. As an added bonus, he even fixed my loose faucets and changed a water filter for me as he was doing an inspection for no cost! He was so wonderful! The issue ended up being an HVAC issue so Daniel helped get a technician out for me that same day to help stop the leakage. Haider Ali was my technician for HVAC and was also amazing! So kind and thorough and took time to explain everything that was going on to me. He answered all of my questions, was super engaging to interact with and helped qualm my worries. The tech was great. No complaints there. This review is a 1 star because the total incompetence of their customer service center who schedules the services. I'm a gold member and I've stuck with them because the techs are great. This is however at least the 2nd time in less than 2 years that they didn't schedule 2 people or mention to the tech that a ladder is needed. You would think they have a system that list the customers information - past history since I'm a member etc that you'll require ladder. On top of that, they mentioned needing 2 people to check the rooftop terrace but will then send out 1. So it's just a shit show and I'm searching for another hvac company. I'd gladly pay double for services to avoid this time consuming inconvenience and incompetence. Michael and Son, I don't care to have a call back or response. To our appreciation, they promptly dispatched a technician, Sameer Hashimi, that very same day. Sameer arrived well-prepared, professional, and highly knowledgeable. He carefully assessed the situation and recommended several effective steps to reduce the humidity, including the use of a dehumidifier. He also installed UV lights in our ductwork to help eliminate bacteria, mold, and viruses such as COVID-19. I am very pleased with the plumbing inspection performed by Michael & Son. As I had had a major leak and subsequent damage from my washer, I wanted to get a plumbing inspection to assure there were no hidden leaks anywhere in the house. Will Carlin called ahead to indicate his ETA and arrived right at the scheduled time. He had his shoe covers on and after scoping the bathrooms and kitchen, he proceded to check things out... there were three items he needed to change / service, and he explained everything that he was to do. He was thorough, professional, respectful of property, articulate. I was very pleased with the quality of service and found it worthy of the cost. Had an incredible experience. We were concerned about a gas leak, and Dimas was the person who came to our house. We DID have a leak and needed to replace a faulty gas valve. It was late afternoon on a Friday, and he was leaving in just a couple of hours for an international trip. But he took the time to drive to Chantilly, get the part, and come back and fix it so that we would have heat over the weekend. I know he could've easily put us on the calendar for the following week to have the repair finished, but he seemed to take the project so personally and did everything he could to help us. My dad is disabled, and having this level of care during an emergency made me so grateful. He was absolutely professional and communicative, and he went above and beyond. read more

We were questioning whether or not our water softener was working as well as it should. We called Michael & Son and they sent Justin Garcia to check things out. He tested the water coming into our home and found that it didn't have iron or other contaminants but that it was very hard. Then he tested the water after it was treated by our softener and he said it was as soft as even a brand new water softener would be able to get it, and we didn't need to replace or repair anything. He was honest and didn't try to sell us a service or new equipment that we did not need. Because we have a yearly contract with Michael & Son we didn't even have to pay for the service call. We had an unplanned electrical issue come up today and did a quick Google search for local businesses. Michael & Son was the top suggestion, so we gave them a call based on their good reviews. Our technician, Logan showed up and was easily able to identify our issue and offer us suggestions based on our budget. He quickly resolved the issue we knew of, as well as fixed a couple of other things that could've become future issues. We really liked that he took the time to listen to our concerns and didn't feel like he tried to upsell us on a bunch of unnecessary items. I booked online late over a water leak that was happening briefly after using our tub. Jonathan Gwin arrived next day and quickly assessed the issue, stating that since our house is older it was likely the overflow in the tub and could be issues with copper pipe. He tried doing a fix that was not so costly, and when that didn't work he provided several other options that could fix the issue. When we agreed on one that wasn't going to involve either demoing the wall or replacing the tub entirely, he and a colleague were able to fix the issue in under 2 hours the next day. William McCormick performed plumbing services in my home replacing valves on my 44 year old copper pipes. The job was tedious and complicated by the deterioration of the old valves. Mr. McCormick was outstanding in his knowledge and experience, worked quickly and confidently, was very personable and explained patiently what he was doing and why he was doing it throughout the afternoon long process. I was delighted by the high quality of his work. On February 8, 2026 a pipe burst in our attic flooding upstairs and the bedroom on the first floor. We contacted several companies for emergency assistance and spoke to a representative, who assured us someone would be at our home. We'll 3 days later NO SHOW, NO CALL BACK. We had no water for 4 days. Thereafter, we contacted Michael and Son Service. They set the appointment and came the day of the appointment (early). There technician came from 58 miles away, and the technician (Brian Jurkowski), is nothing less than absolute exceptional customer service and service acumen. Happy note! -Polite, professional, proficient plumber and his trainee/tech, Joshua and Conner arrived on time and got our job done in less than maybe 45 minutes. Their task was the annual flushing of our 30-gallon condo-size water heater. Josh observed its serial number indicated it was now 10 years old and in the middle of the 8-12 year period when replacing is in order. His estimates were reasonable and convincing, but we chose to go with just the flushing. And we were assured the estimate will remain good until we decide to replace. -Reasonably priced, we are happy with today's visit as we have been for the past 10 years with Michael and Son. -Thank you. read more

We have called Michael & Son for emergency plumbing, always responsive and competent. Today, a Sunday, we called with an electrical emergency, sparks coming from our circuit breaker panel. Michael & Son sent an electrician who opened the panel and showed me how the bus bar was damaged by arcing. The panel is 37 years old and clearly had reached its expiration date. He replaced it with a modern panel, added whole-house surge protection (which is now required by code), and labeled all the circuits. Byron fixed longstanding issues with my HVAC that my preceding company simply wasn't.
