The only thing that I didn't care for was the guys who put together the hot dogs didn't wear gloves during my visit. Love the food. Complete disorganization on the counter. Very gal who took the order of 4 hotdogs specials, then took the money never completed the order. Then very same gal asks for my receipt to prove purchase. Manager then informs me that all orders need to be taken by 1 person which of course I the customer should have known. So apparently the two hot dog special is the big draw here. At least a dozen separate people ordered it while we were there. At less than 5$ for two dogs and two fries you'd think you are getting a good deal. But the thing is the fries are so bad that it's just a waste. The dogs are pretty darn good, I'm assuming they're Vienna beef and well, that's pretty hard to mess up. But those fries ! Tastelss , DRY , obviously frozen... Why you would open a hot dog stand and not cut your own potatoes is beyond me. Perhaps the fact that the crew consisted of an 18 year old and two 16 year olds, and there was no actual cooking going on in the kitchen short of assembling one dog after another, May have something to do with it? My husband and I use to love coming to Mickeys. Not after last night. Went their around 8 and ordered 4 hot dogs to go. They were cold, not cooked, buns were stale, and the toppings were even old. We couldn't even eat them. Oh and they forgot our extra order of fries that we asked for twice. Not impressed whatsoever. Waste of money. Looks like I'll be getting our hot dogs elsewhere. read more

People seem to go for the hot dog special, but overall the place is truly lacking in quality. I had the beef and my son had the cheese dog. He liked the juicy dog, claiming it was better than Portillo's. My beef was dry and overcooked, even though I had them dip the sandwich. Biggest disappointment was the fries. LAZY LAZY, using frozen mass market fries in a place like this is unacceptable. Handcut would be ideal, anything outside of frozen crap would do. read more

I get really disappointed when I do a 1 Star review, but I'm really shocked that on a Monday afternoon when it's not busy, you can get such a dismissive attitude from an owner to a paying customer when the business makes a mistake, after getting our food, I noticed we were missing a side of fries, but when I go to the counter, I see they are all working on something, so I wait a moment at the counter for someone to acknowledge me. So I finally get someone's attention, he asks "what do you need" I tell him that I'm waiting for fries... as he interrupted me and didn't allow me to finish what I was saying (I ordered a meal that included fries that they didn't give me) he says "ok you want an order of fries" after telling me to move down the counter, and walking away to do something else rather than rectify the situation and being talked to in a condescending tone, and being disrespected by someone in that way, I finally got someone else's attention, and the other guy just fixed it, no issues, so I asked someone who came out to wipe tables who the guys was that was so disrespectful, he said that's the owner, Dave. You would think that the owner (even though seemed to be in a good mood) would have the best attitude, maybe to those he thinks are important people, but you never know who you are serving, considering it's his business and customers are how you make money, you would think that you would get great treatment from the one who's business stands and falls with them. I prefer frequenting small business as I thinks it's important, but this is one I will not be going back to. read more

I normally got o Mickey's for the hot dog special - very good! Today however, I tried the "double burger" - not so good - it was like a rubber burger. It has been gone for a long time but I am wondering if this Mickey's in VP are the same owners? Back to the food.... I've only had the 2 hot dog special (no hot) with fries and I've never been disappointed. I really like the fries here. They are thin and squishy, just like I like 'em. My boyfriend had the Italian beef and I took a bite and it was to die for. I never would have thought to get a beef here as I prefer Portillo's but Mikey's is doing something right with their beef sammich. This place is few blocks from where I live so when I'm in a mood for great Chicago Hot dogs or deep fried polish, I head down to this place and get stuffed! This place reminds me a little of Gene n Jude's in River Grove, where they put the fries and hot dogs together and the way they fill up the orders is pretty damn efficient and all do a great job making the order very fast. OK it is a hot dog but it is one tasty hot dog made the Chicago way with onions, relish, tomato, hot peppers, pickle and mustard. The fries are perfect as well and for 2 of these dogs with fries for $5, how can you go wrong. The guys that work here are very friendly as well. I recently discovered this place and am very happy with it. Since Dupage County is such a desert for good hot dog places like this I am happy to know there is a place near the prairie path where i can get a good Chicago Dog. The two dogs for $4.30 deal is a winner, and the fact that they have RC Cola only sweetens the deal. Every ingredient is right, down to the S Rosen poppy bun, and the way they slice their pickles real thin makes it easy to eat on the dog. I will be back, great place. read more
