I went to Midas after going to Walmart for an oil change and come to find out they shorted me on oil. I spoke with Cody right off the bat and he was so welcoming! He didn't make me feel like I didn't know anything about what needed to get fixed. He told me I needed spark plugs and he also helped me with the dent in my rear bumper. Worst experience ever. Bought a Groupon and went in for oil change and rotation. Guy had no clue how to perform a rotation on a 4x4 and they snapped a lug doing it, then blamed it on discount tire who put the wheels on. Tried to charge me to fix it...I have since been told by the shop who did my oil change AND the parts store that the replacement should have been at Midas' expense. They were beyond rude about the whole thing including the condescending "sweetie" and "honey" while explaining whyI didn't know anything. So sad how the manager handled our oil change issues. Made an appointment, brought our car in. Told the filter for the oil change was $40. Ok. Then told the lady that handles shipping the filter went home..... so how can you have an oil change without the filter.... My husband is not happy. We made an appointment. They knew the car. So if you have read any bad reviews and are unsure about Midas, I'd strongly recommend checking out this place first before passing on it. The store manager, Cody White, went above and beyond what type of customer service you'd normally deal with. The moment I walked in, he made the experience personal and friendly. Almost as if were we friends. He was knowledgeable about his trade and made it his best effort to help me with my vehicle. I came in for an alignment and balancing my wheels. From the moment I walked in the door Tom was really down to earth and great. I had the guys install a Cat-Back exhaust and they all knew what they were talking about when it came to performance mods. Didn't have to go to a performance shop or the Infiniti dealership for my mods. Who would have thought Midas (at least this shop) would be really knowledgeable about performance mods. Where do I start? How about after my boyfriend and I walked in and asked to get his car looked at because his check engine light was on, I jokingly asked the guy in the front "Are you gonna give us the Midas touch?" He laughed and said "You wouldn't want that." Then looked at my boyfriend and said "But you'd love that. She'd be still and could never say a word. Perfect for you. Haha." My boyfriend, being the most awesome guy ever, uncomfortably replied "No, I could never have that happen to her." The phone started ringing off the hook and the guy came back into the office to answer. A few minutes later, he had what appeared to be a heated conversation with someone he knew and suddenly said "God Da**" in front of four people who were in the seating area. I wanted to let him know that just because he had his back turned to everyone, doesn't make it appropriate for him to be screaming profanities. Finally, after the car gets looked at, the guy comes back and informes us that we need a tune up, the spark plugs replaced, and a fuel injection cleaning. I had already suspected the spark plugs and so I looked at my boyfriend while he was at the counter with the rep and said, "Honey, the spark plugs are most important, you don't necessarily need the fuel injection cleaning." Well, that just so happen to greatly upset the representative, who angrily said "Fine. I'll have them take the car out." He didn't even give us a price for the spark plugs or ask if we wanted it done. As soon as I recommended to my boyfriend not to do the fuel injection cleaning, the representative was done with us. So to recap: The guy who assisted us: -Yelled profanities over the phone with his back to 4 people -Made a sexist comment to my boyfriend about me -Pushed us out the door because we didn't want to do all services Lastly, the guy only ran a quick diagnostic. Any mechanic knows that having a general code spit out doesn't tell you the exact problem. Yet, he claimed that we needed those two things exactly when no full diagnostic was done. This guy should get a written warning and a class on manners. When my boyfriend took it to his usual mechanic he found out that all that needed to be done was just the spark plugs. $72 dollars later his car was fixed. Midas wanted to charge $179 (we called and asked later) for a job so easy a five year old could do it. read more

There are many auto repair shops that either try and take advantage of you or just don't care about customer service. I've been taking my vehicles to this specific Midas shop for years for oil changes, brake work, and other mechanical issues for my vehicles. These guys always provide good service and never take advantage of you, which is a very rare trait in this industry. A year ago I took my SUV in for a brake job and this week they were grinding a lot so I took it back today just to have them look at the system, thinking something went wrong. I was concerned about the warranty on the brakes, etc...the usual fears of spending money to fix something again. After a 10 minute inspection, they saw I had a lot of dry brake dust and gunk in my brakes causing the noise. They cleaned the wheels out, put it all back together, and had me on the road in less than 30 minutes with no charge. This has always been my experience with this shop and why I keep coming back. You definitely want to make an appointment as they are pretty busy some days of the week but so are all the mechanic shops in Vegas. Anyway, on my drive home I thought I'd give these guys a shout-out for doing such a good job on all my vehicles. Praise is rare these days. read more

Went in and set appointment for oil change 10/28/22 and showed Groupon and was told it would be done for Groupon price $49.59. Dropped off girlfriends vehicle and asked if it would take longer than hour to be complete and was told no, only to return being notified the oil change hadn't been completed yet. After returning the second time to pick-up car sent girlfriend in to pay only to get sticker shock when she came out finding out she was charged double the price for the oil change. I was still at the location in 2nd vehicle and went in to inquire as to what happened. Talking to the same gentleman, who identified himself as Gabriel Warren the store manager, he claimed he remembered our conversation on price 1 day prior but didn't recall it on pickup when my girlfriend went in to pick it up. I took my motor home to the Midas on North Rancho dr to see if they could put to chrome tips on my exhaust. They could not get any so they offered to add 13 inch's to my side by side exhaust They di not give me a quote so I thought it would be reasonable it only took about 30 min. to add to pieces and they looked good. Then I went into pay and to my shock the bill was $193.57. I was blown away and told the zero personality dude that was HI way robbery. But had to pay. I am extremely picky who touches my truck. I needed an oil change desperately (I was way too busy to find the time to do it myself) and I needed TPS sensors removed from my stock wheels and installed on my new after market wheels. The oil change was very quick. In and out in 45 minutes. I ended up needing two new tires for my new wheels. They were able to order them, and install the two new tires and TPS sensors the next day. Well...I tried to give this business the benefit of doubt and unfortunately they have failed the test. Like a fool, I paid for the service before it was completed. The AC was not working on my vehicle and so I "scheduled" an appointment to have it repaired on Wednesday 6/13/18. I called the "manager" Scott and reminded him that I would be bringing the vehicle in. Well, he forgot about ordering the necessary parts for the job so we rescheduled for Thursday. Friday rolls around and I take the car to the shop and still, the excuse that I get is that the parts were not all properly ordered because "Scott" was off sick. I paid for the work to be done and it was not done. Saturday, 6/16/18...still, the part(s) needed to fix the car have not arrived and of course the manager "forgets" to call me and tell me that the work would not be done on time. Closed on Sunday. I go on vacation on Monday, 6/18/18 and here I am now without AC and I will be gone for a month. Really? So, now I am in contact with my credit card company, disputing the charges from this rip-off artist. This business needs to address the following systemic problems or they just need to shut down and go out of business: 1. Lack of leadership from the TOP. Management is lacking and unprofessional. No uniform. These guys actually wear gym shorts and dirty t-shirts. 2. The owner needs to address a lack of quality front desk personnel. 3. Poor customer service 4. Lack of communication between the technician/front desk to the customer. 5. Insufficient mechanics on hand. While I was on site during 3 occasions, I observed only one mechanic on duty. How and when does the only mechanic get a break or go to lunch? 6. The customer should NEVER go home with a broken vehicle after paying for services that did not resolve the problem...EVER! Where do I start? Dropped off my car for an oil change. Paid and picked up my car. Drove 1/2 a mile or less before my oil light started dinging at me, my car filled with the smell of oil burning, and by the time I could safely pull over, my engine was smoking. I called the store and explained to them what had just happened. They sent the mechanic out to fix it in the parking lot and refused to tow it back to their shop. So I had to take the risk of driving it again to get it back to the shop. When the manager refused to tow my car back to the shop, I stated how I was treated wasn't right and I would be contacting BBB. He laughed at me and hung up. Their story: "Someone put the wrong oil filter in the wrong box and put it back on the shelf." So after 3.5 hours, I got a refund, headache, and oil change. Avoid this place at all costs. I wish I could give "0" stars. Midas Oil Change at 3400 N. Rancho in Las Vegas Nevada is a total scam. I bought a Groupon for my wife so that she could get her oil changed. The Groupon was for, and clearly states good for one synthetic-blend oil change. According to the Groupon, you must make an appointment first. My wife called numerous times over the course of two hours. Finally, she was able to get through and make her appointment. When she arrived at the N. Rancho store, she was greeted by a very rude employee with grey hair, when my wife asked for his name, he refused to give it to her. He then proceeded to chew her out for bringing in the printed version of the Groupon. The Groupon clearly states that the printed version is perfectly acceptable. Once this mental midget got beyond the fact that he was presented with a paper copy of the Groupon, he proceeded to tell my wife, that the synthetic-blend would cost extra. This is beside the fact that the Groupon was purchased for, and specifically states for a synthetic-blend oil change. In addition, this so called "technician" told my wife that her vehicle takes 7 quarts of oil. Really? I have changed the oil in her 2012 Camaro V-6 many times. It's obvious that they were trying to scam my wife for an extra quart. It is quite apparent that this is a common practice for this particular location. There was another female customer present, and they were pulling the same scam her as well. My wife asked for the technician's name once more and which he refused again to give her his name. Sounds like he has something to hide. She immediately left without her oil change completely discussed with this establishment. In closing, this location seems to be scamming women. Take this advice and stay away from this place of business. I am also filing a compliant with Groupon and with the state Attorney General as well. Please spread the word that Midas on N. Where to begin. Stopped by and explained my situation with my car to them prior to making an appointment to make sure they would be able to fix it. I am a retired mechanic while in college for 15 years. So, I was very aware of the situation with my MGB. So, I took my MGB into them, talking directly to Jon (Midas Mechanic) and Tom and explained exactly what was required. Was told it would cost about $100-150 but they would let me know exactly. I never got a firm price, I never got any correspondence about what was going on, if it was repaired so I contacted them. They told me "he worked on it for over 3 hours" but couldn't or didn't do anything. My first thought was it should take 20-30 minutes at tops to realize weather or not you can fix something. Not 3 hours. So they said they would "get back" to me later and come up with a new game plan, or research it. Never heard a word from them. It never happened so a day later, I go down to their shop and my car is sitting outside. I go in and was basically told they couldn't do anything or they would have to do this or that. So I told them I will just take my car. They charged me $100 for doing nothing, and after I got back to my garage I noticed that the bolts on the exhaust manifold now were completely stripped........and it cost me $100.00 for them to do that. So you be the judge. I personally wouldn't have even given them a one star if I could have. For simple things that are easy, oil change etc. this is the place. For anything technical........take it to a professional mechanic with proven experience. And Tom, before your boilerplate response, yes I am not happy and your correspondence and truthfulness is terrible. read more
