Originally took my Infiniti to the dealer for an oil change and brake service. The price they quoted was way more than I wanted to spend on servicing a 10 year old car. Decided to call this Midas location because it's close to my house. Brad was very helpful and gave me a quote over the phone. When I arrived, Steve got me checked in with no problems and they were ready to start the service. In less than 2 hours they replaced my rotors and brake pads and did a brake fluid flush. I really appreciate them for getting my car in and out and for saving me over $300. I would definitely visit this location again. read more

I needed to get my rear passenger rotor replaced because it was making a really bad grinding noise. I got to Midas at 7:50 am since they open at 8:00 am. I saw cars in the parking lot and said great I will have to wait to get my car fixed. I walked in at 8 once on they opended their doors up and asked if I could have my brakes looked into right now. Steve at the counter was extremely nice and very professional said sure no problem. Steve had quoted me the estimated price it would cost to fix my car I greenlit it. Then he came back and said he could knock off another $100 off with coupuns. I said thanks for bringing down the repair cost he said that is what we do for our customers. They were able to replace my rear brakes, rotors and calipers and change my oil within an hour. I will definitely come back to this Midas for my future repairs. read more

I went here in January for just an oil change and the service was great because I got an estimate on how long it would take when I got there and they did a visual courtesy check along with the oil change. I decided because it was a good experience I would go here again...but it was not the same at all. I wanted to get one tire replaced and the visual courtesy check again if they could fit it in but they never told me how long it would be and when I would ask they would say "soon". I waited there three hours and was late to work after all that. I did not get the visual courtesy check sheet that they attach to the receipt and when I got home I noticed that the hubcaps on my two other tires were sticking out. I want to say they just had an off day but I am weary to come here for anything else again...other than an oil change. read more

The work the shop did was great but they are a total rip off! I was overcharged for ceramic brakes i did not need on my car. The shop manager gave me a sorry ass excuse saying that OEM brakes are no good and it was for my safety. They used a more expensive ceramic brake when I've been using reg OEM metallic pads that have worked fine for the 4+ years I have owned my car . ceramic brakes won't out engineer the work vw did to balance and validate the brake system with OEM pads. read more

I came in after 4 on a Saturday with my car making funny noises. Come to find out the altinator was about to go out. They were able to get the part sent down that day and even stayed a half hour after closing to make sure it was all fixed and ready to go for me! They were super friendly and acted quickly. Dishonest mechanics. Went in for an oil change, so of course they had to find something "wrong" with my car. Tried to say my alternator was bad and got hostile and aggressive when I challenged them. This place is not trying to fix your car their trying to steal your wallet. Have filled complaints with BBB and it's not the first time they've heard of issues. read more

I took my car in on a Saturday morning for a nail in my tire. I was hoping it could be patched and also hoped they could fit me in on a Saturday. I had never been there before but it was close to my house. They took my car back right away and then came back within minutes and told me the good news. The nail had not punctured my tire. Great place to go! I had an easy experience with honest advice and that's hard to say about most garages. I always cringe when the mechanic calls the manager to look under my car, but the manager pointed out some general things to keep my eye on and budget for the future without any sales gimmicks or scare tactics. I have been coming for a long time and I always get great service. I strongly recommend this place.

I was on a business trip in Rockville, MD. I noticed that the temperature gauge went beyond the red dot. I cooled the engine down overnight. The following morning, I brought the car to the nearest Midas shop (1460 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852). I was told that the reason for the engine overheating was the leak in the radiator and this radiator needed to be replaced. Since I was far away from home I had no choice but to agree and paid $832.64 for the replacement of the radiator. As soon as I started the car on the Midas premises after this repair, the car began to rattle violently. There was no rattling at all before the repair. The Midas mechanics assured me that this vibration had nothing to do with their repairs. They assured me that I could safely drive home 40+ miles away. I drove in a terribly vibrating car and after the engine started overheating again. Another shop - not Midas - thoroughly checked the car. I was told that, contrary to the Midas mechanics' instructions, I should not have been driving these distances: the Midas mechanics had failed to identify the real engine's problem - the blown head gasket. As a result, not only have I paid Midas the unnecessary $832.64 for the radiator, but I was also given incorrect instructions that cost me my car. The lowest estimate that I have for the engine repair is $3,300. This is the direct consequence of the complete incompetence of the Midas employees. My advice: never ever go to Midas. Put them out of business. read more

Today i went with the coupon they mailed us to get my oil changed, I have been there 5 times before to get my oil changed and 4 out of 5 times they tried to tell me all sorts of things that needed fixing/changing in my car. I never let them do it but took it to my normal maintenance place, not once did i need what Midas told me. So when i got there today the gentlemen said i need to come to the back. He told me that they will no longer change my oil for the price on the mailed coupon i received from them in the mail. His exact words were "we are a full service garage and have recommended you several works to be done on the car and you always decline, we lose money every time we change your oil and my owner has put a limit on this (4times) and you already has done it five times, if you want you can call the owner. If you want we change your oil but have to charge you the 39.99 not the promo price" Needless to say i walked out of the shop and went to Jiffy Lube, where they charge the same, service is friendly, faster and added value for the price. Isaac and his team will objectively assess any repairs needed and provide you with the most cost effective solution. I needed new brake pads and my rotors were wore down but instead of selling me on new rotors they shaved the front ones down and informed me that I could last a few more months with the rear assemblies. He also applied an Internet coupon of $50 which I had no idea was available. In a hurting economy it's rare to find an honest shop and they have earned my trust. So conflicting. If you decide to go here for anything Brad is awesome, very honest straight forward guy. Unfortunately I will never go here again. I came in to get an oil change and have my tires rotated. I asked them to look at my breaks and make sure everything was ok for my upcoming road trip. I was told my break pads were completely worn and I needed new rotors. This was absolutely false. They kid even tried to quote me a price over the phone. He was trying to rip me off, I knew what pads I would need for my car and he didn't. I told him I wanted my car ready to go when I arrived. The car was not ready. I called my dealership because I was uncomfortable with the diagnosis. The mechanic even said they are trying to rip Me off. 30,000 miles and my rotors are worn down? Sorry dude, that's not how it works. Oh and when I got home, I was missing several bolts from my tires. Not ok at all. P.s. I had my break pads changed (with no damage to my rotors) at 45,000 miles. read more

I brought my last car, an 02 altima to this shop when the muffler began to make a terrible noise, they recommended to get a plate welded over the hole instead of a new muffler as the car was old, a nice honest recommendation. I purchased a new car a few years ago and one of the tires was losing its air pressure. Again, an honest diagnosis of a loose tire stem with no charge, honest group here. read more

I received a coupon in the mail for 19.99, but upon arrival, they informed me that I had to use synthetic oil for 49.99. I called for a 5pm after work appointment on a Monday and was in and out in 40 minutes. They didn't even need the coupon I had printed out. I only give this a 1 star based on that fact that I followed my gut and shopped around before letting them service my vehicle for a 02 oxygen sensor replacement. After shopping around to other auto service shops (AAMCO, Mr. Tire, and Goodyear) all of the shops quotes were so much lower than what they quoted me! I was ticked off by the difference! They quoted me $424.00, while the others quoted between $150.00-$250.00! What a rip off, shame on you MIDAS! You will not be getting my service! read more

I came in to purchase four new tires and an alignment after a harrowing experience at Good Year/Just Tires where they tried to up-charge me $ 750.00. After calling around merchants in the area, I called Midas where Brad found me great, name-brand tires, an alignment and honored an online coupon (50.00 off)! I left with new tires and an alignment all for under $500.00 in a little under an hours time. I will NOT be going anywhere but Midas on Rockville Pike for my remaining car needs! By far the best customer service i have had in a long time. Brad, the young man running the show,really did a fantastic job. They now have a customer for life. I came in about 2 weeks ago, possibly having to replace my catalytic converter. Brad, wanted to make sure I wasn't spending money fruitlessly, so he wanted to check it out before quoting me. After about 10 minutes, he came back and told me the catalytic was fine, and I just need to fix the actual connection. Gave me several options, and within an hour had the vehicle fixed. Also, did some additional work at no charge. The tech working on my car was also very experienced and did a great job. Will be bringing the car back this week for some additional work. They tell you what needs to be done to keep your vehicle safe and functional and they do it for a very fair price. Very military friendly establishment as well. I brought my car for the brake pad checkup and the technician found that I have to replace pads and rotors together. When I asked questions why it had happened that the rotors which I replaced less than 2 years ago in Midas are gone, Brad answered in a rude and disrespectful manner. Went here for a quick oil change a tire rotation since had a coupon. They recommended no tire rotation since I had one new tire, ok whatever. Then they tried to upsell a cabin air filter (didn't look dirty to me) and engine filter. Wanted to look online to compare prices so said no and check dates of when last done. This week when I went to change the cabin air fitler myself, guess what was missing...bam no cabin air filter. There was only one other customer in the shop, so they can't use the excuse of being busy and forgetting about it. read more

Jason is a total crook. Staff put a hole in my convertible top and refused to fix it. They appear very friendly. Went there in order to pass emissions. $2000 into it and still didn't pass. Prices aren't listed so they will quote high hoping you will pay big bucks. Sad because I used to trust the midas name. Even the owner was rude and asked how I knew they did it? Really? I need new rear brake pads and rotors and oil change. My regular mechanic was busy today so I thought I might try to get Midas to do the fix since they are located across the street from my house. I walked in and there was an employee standing at the coffee machine facing my direction. No acknowledgement of my existence. Just stood there avoiding eye contact and stirring his coffee. I stood at the counter for about 45 seconds, there were two gentlemen behind the wall behind the counter I saw the one guy look at me through to tinted glass which was halfway open... Still no one has even addressed me. Finally the employee who was stirring his coffee walks passed me to head back to the garage and says "oh whatsup man.. I.... think somebody should be out... uh... in a little bit" as if a question. I stood there right at the counter for three full minutes in clear view of the guys sitting in the office. They just kept talking to each other about bills that they have to pay which seemed like a personal conversation not business related. Still no attempt to provide me with service. So I said "ok.." then turned around and walked out. End of story. read more

I am new in town and visited Midas when I had some problems with my car because it was a company I had heard of before and trusted. The guys there were all extremely nice, but the prices were ridiculous! The told me I had so many things to fix on my car and the total would be over $1,000. Well, I took the list of fixes to another mechanic nearby and he told me that those things didn't need to be fixed and his price was less than half of what Midas was charging. Honestly, I don't know if its because I'm a young girl and obviously don't know too much about cars, or if they charge everyone this much. But I think it is very dishonest. They were so kind to me and trying to make me feel like they were giving me a deal, but they were charging me more than double. I will not be going back to Midas in Rockville again. I agree with the other reviews that everyone there is more than friendly, but I'm not willing to pay double just for friendliness. I would not recommend visiting Midas. read more

I do not leave my comment for any service but today i should. Worst Customer Service ever...They refuse to do tire rotation without inspecting my tires even though i brought my coupon for oil change and tire rotation . They are so damn lazy and focusing on selling their service. How could they sell their service without good customer service? They were just listing out their reasons for not doing their work. I recently change my driver side tire only because i got a nail on my tire. buy new replaced tire has more tread than other side of course becuase i changed other one in last year. I still have well over 50 percent tread on my two of rear tires so i request them to rotate but they are denying my service that it is dangerous to do tire rotation. Are they insane? My car is just front wheel drive car..it is much safer to have two tires with same tread wear in front! Be aware. Do not even think to go there. read more

Beware of bait and switch on prices! I was told by mechanic Jason that the labor cost of replacing two oxygen sensors provided by us was $240. I told him that another shop had quoted me $110 for the same job. Jason said that he would replace both sensors for $120. My wife went to drop off the car. Jason saw both the sensors and prepared an invoice for $120 plus tax to replace both sensors. Next day, Jason did not come to work and mechanic Mike spoke to my wife over the phone that the price quoted by Jason was wrong and the cost to replace both sensors would be $200. As another shop had quoted $110, my wife went and picked up the car. She asked Mike to give her the invoice that Jason had prepared, which states that the cost to replace two oxygen sensors would be $120 and tax. Mike said that he had lost the invoice, when just two hours ago he had the invoice and had spoken to my wife over the phone regarding the price on the invoice prepared by Jason. What a liar!
