They are always jam packed so it does take a while if i wait, but the work is good. One guy with 6 cars came in with a couple of his buddies and was telling them that THIS MIDAS is the only place he takes his cars. Some reviewers were upset that men were looking at them, but i assume their clothing was intended to attract those stares, so you can't have it both ways ladies! I am writing this to warn the Tucson community about severe, deceptive service violations and potential vehicle sabotage at this location (333 W Valencia Rd). If you value your vehicle's safety, do not bring it here. I brought my meticulously maintained 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe here for routine oil changes using a Groupon. On my second visit, a manager tried to scare me into a $700 passenger-side CV axle replacement that I didn't need. When I returned for my third visit on April 11th, that same manager doubled down. After I confronted him with research proving CV axles don't magically fail between oil changes, things took a deeply alarming turn. I went outside and discovered my car was not on a lift or in the service bay, it was parked completely around the back of the building which the current manager, Joseph, has formally admitted on the record is a direct violation of official company protocol. Another manager, Angelo, checked the car, confirmed the CV axle claim was completely false, and the shady employee was apparently let go two weeks ago due to a pattern of dishonest behavior. However, the damage was already done. The second I drove off the lot on April 11th, my radio, dashboard presets, and vehicle settings were completely wiped and reset to factory defaults. Shady mechanics do this by disconnecting the battery or using a scanner to force-clear error codes and hide warning lights. Worse, they failed to even give me a new windshield mileage sticker and I had to go back to get one. Since that exact visit, my vehicle has suffered from a severe "dragging" sensation upon acceleration and odd shifting. It is highly probable my car went without oil, was refilled with completely incorrect oil, or was physically tampered with during that unprocedural time around back. On May 22nd, I took the car to the Oracle Rd. location to redeem my final oil change, only for them to put it on the lift and suddenly point out a massive, active turbocharger oil leak. The Oracle location may very well be covering for the Valencia site's liabilities. Corporate customer service (Case Reference: 4373693) has repeatedly stalled, and the District Manager, Mike, has failed to contact me. When I brought the vehicle back to Valencia for a manager walkthrough, a technician who was present during the April 11th incident conveniently pretended to have amnesia. They never offered to make it right or even to compensate for gas to come in. Because this business broke protocol, handled my car in an unmonitored area, and effectively compromised a major mechanical system, I am demanding that the corporate office immediately preserve the back-alley security camera footage. I am completely uncomfortable letting this company touch my car again. I am invoking my right to an independent, third-party diagnostic teardown at a certified Hyundai dealership, and I expect this company to cover the towing, direct dealership repair costs, and a rental vehicle. Until they take accountability for their technicians' deceptive and damaging actions, stay far away from this network. I am allowing for opportunity to make right what has been done by this company before I proceed with a lawsuit. I am a mom who is now out of a vehicle, at no fault of my own for trusting a company to perform a service that was paid for and I expect this to be resolved swiftly. read more

I agreed to a treatment to help slow the corrosion that keeps happening on my battery (I've generally been brushing it off periodically). When they finish the battery is completely dead. They then tell me that the battery was so bad it was going to die at any moment. Seriously what are the chances that this was the EXACT moment it would die??? You certainly don't expect to to drive fine to the mechanic, get a service done on the battery, and then not be able to drive away because of a dead battery. The most frustrating thing is that they refused to admit that something was clearly odd about that and just told me I should get a new battery... right now after I'd paid $30 to clean the battery. They gave me a jump because I refused. I drive 15 minutes stop and the car immediately won't start again, no response. I jump it and drive another 15 minutes, lose power steering, and pull over. I try to restart, no response. I open the hood, *simply wipe off the excess liquid they applied* all over the negative terminal, tighten things up, and the car IMMEDIATELY starts with no issue and no jump required. I turn it off, try again in 20 minutes, completely fine start; same later on in the day and the next day. The essentially refused to admit that they left too much insulating grease between the metal and used their mistake to try to force me into a new battery. I would have totally given a pass if they had just wiped it off and said, sorry sometimes that happens after the treatment rather than acting like I was crazy for thinking my car would start. Totally batched wheel alignment. In fact, rear tires went bald in less than 4000 miles. They said since I did not notice this in 8 months they would not pay for new tires. I bought 2 new tires (Walmart) to match the new (60K tires) tires. Midas offered new tires to me for more than 70% more than the Yokahoma tires I just bought. They "fixed" the alignment and said the previous person no longer worked there, but this person had 30 years of experience. Went to a highly "people rated" service center to check the "fixed" alignment, and they found 8 of the 12 settings were bad. I had really hoped this place was going to be my "service shop" after my first experience, but now it is my "stay clear of" place. read more

Do NOT come here. They wrecked my car during a test drive following a repair and then refused to give me my keys back while demanding I still play 2k for the repair even though the car was wrecked. Think about that... I dropped my car off for a simple repair, they wrecked it and still made me pay for the initial repair. I had no clue what additional damage was caused. I ended up getting a synchrony loan to pay that 2k. I pleaded with the manager who then called the owner while I was in the waiting room, he then said they would give me $100 off. Even the mechanics felt bad for me as they later told me when I was walking out. Their insurance ended up covering the damage, their adjuster even said over the phone that they should have never charged me for the initial repair, my car decreased in value because it had been in an accident and to top it off, my car still has the same problem they were supposed to repair. I emailed the owners, a father/son-in-law group. They apparently own several similar Midas/Mieneke type-body shops in Tucson and Phoenix. I never received a response back which in my opinion told me everything I needed to know. The entire ordeal was traumatizing and the manager and assistant manager just shrugged me off. Just go to your actual car dealership their prices are very similar and there's accountability. I will be surprised if I get a response here like the other reviews. I arrive ten minutes before my appointment, but my car sat for almost an hour. When it was finally brought into their service area I thought it would be done in 30 minutes. I finally had to let the front service man that I had another appointment coming up which I did, but had to wait for another hour and a half to get my car back, which included me waiting outside for 15 mins after paying. I was quoted $700 worth of brake work from this establishment, AFTER being quoted an insane amount for AC repair. Decided to look elsewhere was able to get AC repaired for almost HALF the cost and then told that my brakes did NOT need work done. In fact they recommended waiting because the parameters weren't met for brake repair. Unsure why they're telling their customers they need work done when there's no need, and then having prices that are more than an actual dealership or other mechanic shops in town. First, they lied to me about the part my truck needed. The truck is a 2002 1500 Silverado long bed extra cab 4x4 work truck. He says oh there are a couple different parts that it could be for your truck. It's a center support bearing for the driveshaft, that was a lie there is only one part for that replacement, I checked. Then they charged me double for the part 337.10$, because of course my truck took the imaginary " heavy duty " bearing. Then to kick me more while I'm down after having a heart attack two weeks ago, they charge me an extra 50$ dollars for an "environmental" fee. For what? There were no fluids disposed of it was a bearing I could have thrown it in the trash for free! Bringing the total cost to 690.76 for a job that should have cost around 400$ tops! On top of that they didn't even change the seal on the back of the transfer case which was clearly bad and leaking. I will never use Midas again and I will tell everyone I know not to use them either. They used to be a pretty good shop, About 20 years ago. Now they are just like everyone else, lie to you and then do crappy work. Do yourself a favor find a trustworthy Mom and Pop shop and stick with them. read more

I couldn't understand the bad reviews posted. Over the past three years their work was excellent. That was till this year. Now I understand why some posted bad reviews. This year they not only botched repairs on both my cars, but on one caused a serious problem. I suspect they take in work for which they are not qualified to handle. I called Midas Head Quarters, and all I got as a CS message from this shop. I tried to return the call, but the shop refused to take my call to the manager. Results. On one vehicle they attempted to fix the air conditioner. After four attempts they failed. I ended up taking this vehicle to a shop that traced the problem to the root cause. On another vehicle they suggested replacing a seal on the differential. A few days later I herd a snap sound emitting for the rear of my car. After Midas failing to repair my air conditioner and refusing to return my calls, I took my car to another shop. It appears that Midas, one again, messed up. This repair results in making a very expensive repair to fix their apparent mistake. read more

Some people might trust jay and mike but they completely accepted fault then lied about them paying for my rental car, replacing my brand new powder coated rim, new tire and would never answer the phone and MY RIM CAME BACK CHIPPED WHEN OT CLEARLY WASN'T BEFORE because of their business apparently just likes to try and get one over on anyone without any moral justice. I was treated very poorly the day I went to go pick up my car, wouldn't even give me a paper stating what was done to fix anything. The manager was suppose to be there the day i went back like he told me he would be and what would you know? Nowhere to be found. No explanations for anything and no payment for my rental car I needed for work since they made mine inoperable. I take it to 2 different shops to get inspected and they even said this was malignant and could be dangerous since they welded my rim back together. They also told me if it wasn't a certified welder it was illegal. But mike and jay wouldn't tell me who it was or what they did. Rip Off Artists!!! Service writer Brian Trejo refused to accept a printed Groupon Coupon and then made me wait 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time for a simple oil change that then took another 45 minutes. Also tried to screw me by suggesting I needed $1,200 in other repairs. Avoid this place. I'll also be reporting them to Groupon and the BBB. Next time, I'll go to the Jiffy Lube across the street. A couple of people I know (housemates) went into the Midas at Oracle in Tucson and got oil changes. Directly afterward, they mentioned their air conditioning in their cars was not working as well as it was before the oil changes; the air pressure was lessened and the temperature warmer. I was reading an article which stated overfilling or using the incorrect type of oil could cause problems with hydraulic systems in a car. I am curious whether the occurrences are coincidental or if there are links involved with the oil change and the faulty air conditioning in the cars. Although they were satisfied with the oil changes, the coincidental air conditioning malfunctions raised a few eyebrows. read more

I came here to get maintenance done on my car. When I got my car back, the hole next to the gear shifter was not covered like it was when I went there and my glove box was not able to close properly anymore. They apologized and said they had to mess with the glove box and thankfully fixed it for me. I proceeded to ask if they had rotated my tires to which they said no multiple times only to realize that they actually did. I'm glad I got my car maintenance done but it just seemed like there was a lack of communication between the workers knowing who did what with my car. read more

After some repair and oil change, I decided to get tires, because two service people assured me they had a 12 month, no interest deal. It's the only way I could afford tires. They hooked me up with their preferred finance company and I did the paperwork. And I kept asking if they were sure I could take advantage of the 12 month deal. Come to find out I have less than 3 months to pay the entire bill or the interest ends up being 115%. I've written and called, and nobody wants to take time to help me figure it out. We had just bought a car and the check engine light came on. We looked up our warranty company and found a place that was in network for our vehical. I called what I thought was this shop and made an appointment. My fiance took the car in and they said there was no appointment made. I called and found out it was the Meineke right next. I told them they where not in network and we needed to get the car over to the other shop. They told me they where in network for sure and they, "do work for that company all the time". I asked again if they where sure over the phone and they said, "100%". So we let them take the car back. After they called my warranty company they said that there was still a deductible which I knew for sure was not the case. I had to call me warranty company to ask what was going on. They said that they would call the shop and to go ahead and start the work. The workers told us that it would take about 35-45 minutes to get it done. So, about 2 hours of work later, they told my fiance that they never called and we needed to call them. So I called them back and was told that they are not in network and that we had a deductible still. I then poke with the employee who after I explained that said they where in network, told me "it's already been taken care of." Not an apology for lieing to us, or an apology for the work taking now 3x as long as they told us. They kept doing the work and about another hour and a half to 2 hours later they finished the job. Again no apology for the work going from 35-45 minutes to about 4 hours worth of work. My fiance got there at 8am and did not leave till after noon. On top of all this, the bill was over $700. They quote 35-45 minutes which means they did not think the labor was going to take to long, yet charge over $600 in labor????? Hmmmm. Yeah I really dont think I will be back here. Dropped my truck off for an oil change that a family member had purchased a Groupon for me for a graduation gift. Not only did I still have to pay $24 out of pocket afterwards (that no one could tell me why I was paying other than "that's the cost of the oil change maam"- actually it shouldn't be, my aunt purchased a $34 "high mileage" oil change Groupon, but anyway) someone removed the sticker I had on my rear view mirror that marked the mileage that was on my truck WHEN I REPLACED MY ENGINE! I specifically told the techs "you're gonna see a sticker w/mileage on my mirror, it's how I know how many miles are on my BRAND NEW MOTOR, NOT WHEN I NEED MY NEXT OIL CHANGE DO NOT REMOVE" they assured me they wouldn't & still did. Not only that, but when I picked up my truck the tech told me & quote "your transmission & engine are basically about to give up on you, a little girl like you shouldn't be driving manual if you don't know how to". Not only are my engine & transmission both new (under 6mo old & less than 30k miles on them total) it was a very unprofessional & rude customer service. I've had this truck for all 13 of my legal driving years & for 4 before that. How dare he. Now I have damn near no knowledge of how many miles are on my motor & tranny, which is no help when selling & I was hoping to sell my truck this summer to help pay for moving across country! Went for a simple oil change. This place is a trap! The manager was very nice and reassuring, he even rounded down my bill which saved me $0.75 BUT, the young blonde tech was witnessed successfully misaligning my tire by violently shaking it back and forth. Two days later of drifting to the shoulder, the same tire went flat, I obviously took it to a different place knowing very well that Midas on Oracle caused the misalignment and most likely the flat. The biggest shysters I have ever come across. Not only did they not wear masks during the height of Covid (September- October 2020), one of the managers, the main one did not wear a mask but had a deep chest rattling cough, so bad that he had to go outside and "hawk spit". He probably had Covid but did not care enough to protect his patrons from his germs. I came here on three different occasions because I bought a car warranty that Midas supposedly honored. I had a power steering pump "replaced" that still continued to wine, it didn't stop wining until they replaced the replacement, which I think was actually the only time they actually replaced anything. I say this because they supposedly replaced my front right axle, but the next time I came they said it needed to be replaced again and worded it differently. I finally started taking my car to the dealership, and guess what!? The dealership said the front right axle needed to be replaced! Which means Midas never replaced it. This location is simply taking people's money, claiming they are doing a job and actually making you sit there for hours while they do nothing. Or actually maybe it was my fault, I Ubered home every time instead of staying at the shop watching them like a hawk, which I believe is what needs to be done in order for them to actually do their job. He handed me over to someone else to help me, visibly irritated, saying nothing to me (i.e. "let me have so and so help you"). Do Not Trust this shop! They are praying on College kids that don't have any mechanical or repair experience. They charged my niece $530 for a rebuilt alternator with a 90 day warranty and $180 to install, $826 total! The alternator went out within 9 months and I had to replace it again. Sun Devil Auto charged $190 for the alternator and $80 labor. Tell me how they can justify $530 for an alternator. They are ripping these kids off. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!! After long discussions with Midas Management, they offered me a $100 In Store Credit. I will never let my niece or anyone go to their shop for any repairs or service. The best thing I can ask for is for everyone in the Tucson area to boycott this business. read more

I took my car here a couple days ago to get an oil change. They told me that transmission fluid was leaking, brake fluid was leaking, power steering fluid was leaking and this that and the other. I took it to another mechanic who said nothing was leaking. They also pulled a plug out of my transmission so the check engine light would come on. Do not take your car to this place. read more

I am so done with this Midas. This is literally the only oil change shop I have been to where they cannot just do a simple oil change, but instead always find something additional wrong with my car EVERY time. And I'm not just bringing in the same old junker each time -- I've now had three different cars in here and the same thing continues to happen. Of course, you expect Midas, Meineke, Jiffy Lube, etc. to tell you that you need new wiper blades or a new engine air filter. That's easy to brush off. But with this shop, it's struts, brakes, cabin air filters, coolant exchange or something worse. Within about 3 months after I had them do a fuel system cleaning for me last fall, at least 2 other shops suggested the same service. The last time I was in, for a simple oil change and coolant flush/exchange, the process took 2 hours (when it should have taken about 45 minutes). I brought my girlfriend's car in for an oil change and tire rotation -- not only would they not rotate the tires, but now she has a hubcap missing. While I can't blame them for this, because we don't know exactly what happened, she did call to ask if maybe they had her hubcap -- whoever answered the phone was extremely rude and didn't even bother to look for the hubcap. He brushed her off and told her it must have been stolen. Well, thanks for nothing. I am very happy to spend a little more money and go to a shop where I trust the staff to not screw me around and actually take care of me and my car. There are very few times I'm impressed with anyone that works in the auto repair industry. These guys however are great. I simply set up an appointment to get my fiancé's oil changed and they began working on it BEFORE my appointment. It only took them 20 or so minutes to complete the job. I have taken both of our vehicles to Midas in Colorado and here in Tucson and after seeing that, they let me know the oil change was FREE! I never get free perks like that from any other auto shop. Plus they gave us some good info on timely maintenance that needs done, and even offered their discounted price for the work. They seem to be good people and I appreciate them getting us taken care of. read more

I made an appointment the previous day for an oil change, a STANDARD OIL CHANGE, and was sent an email confirming my appointment immediately after. I was told I would receive a call/email from a representative within one business hour. I didn't receive either. I called this morning, 2 hours before I was supposed to go in, and was told that someone had "dropped the ball" and did not confirm my appointment. They said I could still come in at the scheduled time and have my car serviced. I got here at 11 for my appointment. It's now 1 pm. I have been waiting for my SCHEDULED, standard oil change for 2 hours. Absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous. I will not be coming back. I've seen 3 different customers who came in after me, WITHOUT APPOINTMENTS, in and out in 30 minutes. The staff isn't helpful at all. So irritated that this appointment took this long on a day that I had errands to run before work. Absolutely do not recommend this location. Finally got out after 2 1/2 hours and the lead tech (Jeff, I think his name was) didn't even apologize for the wait. My car was having trouble starting! So I brought it over! Guy told me is was my battery and it would be $240! Batteries cost about $100 alone so I was a little hesitant! Anywhos, took it to two other shops to get their opinion and both places stated my Battery was 100% charged and in good working condition and didn't need replacing!
