See below for how impressed I naively was at one point... My vehicle overheated as a result of a technician installing a lower radiator hose improperly. Mistakes happen; even juvenile mistakes. Everyone seemed so nice and willing to help, even towed my car from the side of the road under the Arizona sun in the onset of a tough summer and attempted to diagnose the failure back at the shop, gave me some ideas of what the problem might be, and when it was eventually properly diagnosed at the dealership (took 5 minutes, obvious radiator fluid leak from hole bore into newly installed lower radiator hose on account of it being pressed down against the air compressor) and the ball volleyed back in Midas' court, everything initially seemed to be moving forward, with various apologies and conversations on how to move forward. But it has proven to be a great deal of lip service and poor business operations. It's not just that I was told at the shop "we ran a diagnostic and the car never overheated; it never went above 114," (I shared that with Toyota; the service tech and supervisor giggled, and then informed me the car operated at a minimum of 119 degrees), it's not only that Midas techs failed twice (the install and then the missed obvious leak), it's a little that the district manager was so eager about keeping it out of insurance, and it's a lot about not doing their due diligence in turning the claim in, let's say, the same day the technician who originally worked on my car was fired (day after diagnosis...seems like responsibility is being assumed at that point). Instead, this client (and cancer patient) was left vehicle-less for nearly 4 weeks - during the summer in Tucson, southern AZ - because a claim was shelved instead of called in any earlier than 2.5 weeks after Midas Oracle location franchise owner and district manager had relieved the Midas tech of his duties as a result of the faulty work that led to the destruction of my engine. I'll even add it's not just having to uber to doctors appointments across town, the inconvenience of not being able to go grocery shopping or the laundromat, or just down the street to a cafe because it's so bloody hot and for weeks on end you're basically homebound. What really, really sets this whole ordeal off, is that even after the dealership offers a clear diagnostic of the cause, AND even after the insurance company pushes through all the necessary procedures to get the ball rolling on a rental and a proper solution to my damaged property after the vehicle had been inspected, even after all this time and clear cut information... I called the DM/franchise owner again today to ask for a refund on the faulty job that led to the destruction of my car's engine for the 3rd time (total job more than $650). He told me, "I have to look into it." If you've read this far, thank you for your patience. Now save yourself the time, money, frustration and helplessness... ... I'm preemptively giving 5 stars as I wait for my car. Why?...because I came in here for an oil & filter change with a tire rotation for $13 (YES please!) and multiple leaks were brought to my attention. Literally, I was shown in person when my vehicle was undergoing a pressure test where the leaks were stemming from and the responsible hoses were pointed to and named...helping me to become more knowledgeable about the inner workings of my vehicle. As a teacher, I can respect the crap out of that! Both gentlemen that have helped me so far (Jay and Ryan) have been extremely professional and I was given a gracious discount hen deciding to do additional maintenance work here. The cancer survivor with extensive medical bills can REALLY respect the crap out of that!!! read more

I went to midas for an oil change. Then surprise surprise the service guy needs to talk to me. Then he shows me this dripping oil and says it is a leak from my rear seal. I do not know where the rear seal is but this was up front. It was clear oil. The oil that was changed out was a browner color. I came home and no I do not have leaks under my car where I park and still dont. So that 900 fix for a rear seal....pullllllllllese read more

My wife and I purchased a Groupon to have our oil changed here. We brought the cars on different days and were told on each of our visits that we needed fairly expensive repairs. When we sought prices from other shops, two different shops told us that there was nothing wrong and that Midas had lied to us. read more

I always come to this specific location, a couple years back I found a Groupon online for them and this was the closest store to me. Ever since then I don't go anywhere else. The first couple oil changed I got from here, they just change the oil and rotate the tires and I'm in and out. One time they even gave me a free oil change just because I got stuck in the lobby with an actually crazy old lady who harassed me for the better part of 2 hours. Anywho, moving forward this is my 4th oil change with them and this time my car needed some extra work (they've never tried to upsell me on anything before and I can feel the difference in how my car drives, so I had a feeling they were going to make some suggestions) I'm a girl who knows diddly squat about cars and the guy who helped me walked me out and showed me the parts that were leaking and worn down, and told me what was a cheap fix I could do today and what I would need to save for and prioritize fixing in the future. Don't trust them if they say you need a repair on your vehicle. Get a second opinion. They tried to tell me my drive shaft was cracked and leaking. They were trying to charge me over $800 for the part alone and said it was a huge safety issue. I called my mechanic and let him know what they were telling me and he said it didn't sound right and not to let them touch it. As soon as I could I brought my car to my mechanic and there was nothing wrong with my car. It was a simple worn boot, which was super easy to replace and cost next to nothing. Midas did fine with the oil change, but they should not perform or recommend any major vehicle repairs. I went to this Midas location for a tire leak repair. They said that I needed a new tire. Fine. But when I drove away after the replacement, the pressure sensor light was on. I took the car to the dealer and they checked out the problem and said the tire sensor was mangled. I called Midas & had them talk to the dealer's service manager because Midas obviously damaged it while changing the tire. Midas refused to take responsibility. I paid for the repair because it had to be done, filed a complaint with BBB but the shop's response to the complaint was really insulting to me as a person. My opinion is that the reason Midas feels compelled to run all of the promotions that are mentioned in this company's reviews by customers, is because people can't help but remember the terrible experiences they have had with this Midas shop and refuse to have to pay for another bad experience. read more

Don't recommend coming here for anything other than an oil change, especially if your a young girl like me. I've come here before for an oil change and they told me my oil pan was broken and the last person that did an oil change on my car (which was Midas) inserted it wrong and i need a new oil pan. long story short they ended charging me $500 for a new oil pan and the oil change. Came here on a second occasion for a cheap oil change and ask them to please look at my brakes. They told me the whole braking system was fucked up and we're going to charge me $1000 for my braking system getting fixed. I told them absolutely not and I was just getting my oil change and would be taking my car some where else. Well the other place I took my car only charged me $67 for new brake plates like i needed. To matters worse I'm patiently waiting in the waiting while the man sitting in front is asking me if i have a boyfriend that will help me, typical. Be careful! read more

Guy at the counter with a "never forget 9-11" tattoo started telling me he is a conservative for no apparent reason and how he likes guns and one of his friends is going to be one of the first teachers to carry a gun in a public school in Arizona. I absorbed myself in my phone and texting hoping he would understand I didn't want to have this conversation while waiting for my breaks to be fixed but he kept going on and on and on. Having a political debate with a customer is not the way to go. He made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I have a friend who almost died from gun violence at Pulse. I don't need to be subject to this while I am paying Midas hundreds of dollars. read more

Took my truck in for some repairs and ended up getting a new exhaust put on Jay was awesome worked with me on price and parts.. they had a rental truck for me to use while work was being done.. when I left the abs light stayed on took it back in and he had it fixed right away. Great service! I popped by unannounced when my blinker stopped working. They saw me immediately, and a new bulb in my blinker in under 5 minutes. Then they sent me on my way without charging me a dime, I couldn't believe my luck! I'll be back for sure read more

Went there to get your standard oil change. Went smoothly as usually. They were advertising $12.99 for oil changes. But when I went to pay, got changed $80. So I take it you do false advertisement. Won't be going here. When I went to the location on 12th avenue, they didn't charge me labor unlike your location for a simple oil change. Do not take your car here. Went for a basic oil change with a Groupon. Bait and switch ser vice. Oil change turned into $200 service. For rear brakes. Top it off they failed to put my air filter back in after doing their "vehicle inspection ". Needless to say truck vibrates when I apply brakes. Going to cost more $$ to fix. read more

This location doesn't even deserve a one star! About 3 weeks ago I brought my car to this location to get the oil changed and I was brought outside and under the car to be shown everything that was wrong with the car BESIDES THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, the breaks. I was told all the struts needed to be replaced, all four tires, and a few other things which is funny because those are the exact issues i was told I had in my other car a couple weeks before and when I took it to my three mechanic he told me that was not true. But the breaks were not mentioned even once and now three weeks later and $463 later the Midas in Mesa had to replace the front breaks and rotors on my car because this location obviously did not do their job. I will never be coming back to this Midas ever again. read more

I came here because I knew my catalytic converter was making the Check Engine light come on my car's dashboard, and the serviceman quoted me $1300 to get it done. I thanked him for the quote and turned to leave, as it was more money than I'd saved for such a job. He said, "Wait! Since you're in the door, I can call my manager and get a code that could get you a discount." I stayed, and he made the phone call, and entered a code in his computer. He said, "We can replace the catalytic converter, and also the cooling fan relay you've got burnt out, for a little over $700." I then authorized the work, which for my Malibu cost $709.29. That was in March 2017, and both converter and relay are still working just fine. I'm reasonably happy with my experience, but I don't recommend taking the first offer they make, because that's likely to be unnecessarily expensive for you. This place loses a star for trying to get me to pay nearly twice what I needed to pay for the repairs--but it can still keep four stars for the excellent, timely, and enduring (so far) work that they did. read more

Service is bad at this location. After waiting four hours, when I was quoted an hour for a repair, the gentleman working there rolled his eyes and said he would ask how much longer. I thought I had finally found a place where I could trust the mechanics with my car. Unfortunately this is not the case. I took two vehicles in on the same day - one to get an oil change and the other to change the brakes and rotors which I supplied. Please "SHARE" this review on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media site you can! I want to make sure this does not happen to anyone else! I took my vehicles to the Midas on 3302 N Oracle Rd., Tucson, AZ 85705. The first vehicle was a $19.99 oil change turned into a $1000 job. They supposedly replaced the catalytic converter and gave it an oil change. I paid for it and a day later it couldn't go more than 30mph. I took it back and they "replaced" the "cylinders" in the catalytic converter and replaced the second cat. Two days later, I came back to check the work and had him put it on the lift. I looked at the front cat and it was the same one, rust and all. I complained and they put a "third" front cat. The light went on a day later. Now because my son complained to corporate, the owner does not want to fix it. The second vehicle came in for brakes and rotors. $75 turned into $525. They said the control arm was bad and he was going to have to order it from Phoenix. Waited the whole day in the shop without either car. In the evening, the sales person as well as the manager came in and said everything was ready. I paid for both vehicles but only took one. I told them I would come back for the other one later that night as I did not have anyone to drive it. I came back thinking all the work was done. The only work that was done was the brakes and the rotors. The alignment, the control arm and a hose that was to be installed were not done. I complained and the manager apologized and said that all the work would be done on both cars to completion and he would give me two royal flushes as well as a $500 credit. I took the truck the next day to finish the work. I came back to find out the only thing that was installed was the control arm (I couldn't verify this because he wouldn't put it on the lift). The owner was upset because my son had written a complaint to corporate and I was informed that none of the promised work would be completed or the credit of $500. I am left with two vehicles that the original work has not been completed and no way to recoup my costs. I went to this location to get my oil changed & have my filter replaced. I know very little about cars but feel this is a straightforward service. They also recommended that I have my transmission fluid changed which I had done 7 months prior, but they insisted it was bad. I declined this upsell. When I returned to my usual shop, I learned that they installed the air filter incorrectly (placing a square peg into a rectangular hole) and that was contributing to the terrible gas mileage I had been getting since. Additionally, there was nothing wrong with my transmission fluid, some kinds are just inherently darker than others. Bottom line, they don't seem to know what they are doing (I drive a Chevy, nothing exotic) and were sorely lacking customer service skills. Go elsewhere if you can, there are lots of similar vendors on Oracle alone. read more

I took my car in for a simple oil change and that seemed to go well. My complaint is while checking the air filter they lost one of two clips that held the housing together. I know they lost it because I looked at the air filter and housing dismantled with the manager so I could change it myself. Both clips were there before they re-installed the air filter. I drove to purchase an air filter and noticed one clip missing. I returned (2nd trip) and the manager said his mechanic said there was only one clip. Right. They did offer to replace the clip but that means a 3rd trip for one oil change! Imagine what they might do to a real mechanical challenge?! read more

The couple of times that I have gone to this Midas for oil changes and tire rotations, they have told me that I needed a couple of extra things done. In between these visits, I have taken my car elsewhere and had inspections done, and was never told that this work was necessary. After my most recent visit there, I noticed a couple of days later that my hubcap was missing on a tire they did some work on. I called to see if by any chance my hubcap was left at the shop. The man that answered the phone was immediately defensive and rude. Without offering to see if it was accidentally left in the shop, he told me that it absolutely wasn't there, and told me somebody likely had stolen it. Don't trust Jay [Manager] especially if you are vulnerable. He took advantage of my crisis with partial blindness and illness, by replacing [ supposing ] parts I did not need according to other mechanics that were consulted. He failed to correct the problem that engine code indicated.and I had to bring it back. The old parts disappeared mysteriously, if indeed they were replaced. He also over charged. The manager of another shop candidly disclosed that Jay is bad news in the above ways. read more

I wouldn't even give these scumbags a star!!! Never will I ever return again. I needed a Knock Sensor and a Thermostat replace. I provided the thermostat and BLUE silicon gasket maker. It took 3 DAYS on estimated 5hrs of work. They finally were finished and I looked under the hood.. the gasket around the thermostat housing was still the same color an off white. So they basically stole my gasket maker ohhhh but the story doesn't stop there. They reset my computer on the car but after driving it the literal next hundred miles the check engine light came on and read those same thermostat codes. So they completely didn't even touch the thermostat but took my part that I supplied and even CHARGED ME $145 IN LABOR for work those scumbags didn't even do DONT EVER GO TO THESE SCUMBAG LOWLIFE'S now that they got rid of Ryan and Jay it's not the same. JEFF AND BEN ARE RUINING THAT SHOP ALL QUALITY ASSURANCE IS GONE. Ben especially is rude and treats you like a child for wanting you car back i had to get multiple Uber's while they took 48hrs for 5hrs or estimated work. And they didn't even do the job but where glad to charge me for it. If you have read my review thank you I hope this informs you about how these scumbags like Midas and jiffy lube are taking advantage of people. Stay to local shops only lets run these corporate businesses out of business like they deserve. Arts Pit Stop is one of Tucson's best shops give them a call and your work will actually get done. You should be ashamed of your self Jeff and Ben you should have checked with that mechanic that all work on the estimate was done but knowing Ben he probably told them to skip it since I was rightfully calling everyday just to see when I was gonna get my "5hr" car back. read more

I went to this terribly unprofessional Midas Service Shop on Feb. 1, 2014 and was very much displeased. I had my vehicle in this N Oracle Midas shop for aleast two weeks , but had been previously told after supposedly getting a thorough diagnosis that my vehicle would be completed in a few days which was no problem at first. Now once the mechanic called me and explained what he had found and was going to have to be repaired and I gave the go-ahead, so the services were suppose to start, which was not the case, he never got started on the work but give me ah quote between $1800-$2000, which I had informed him I didn't not have enough so which of the repairs which I could hold off from that wouldn't affect the perfomance of the vehicle and bcause I only had between $1200-$1500 to spend, so Ray(The Mechanic and Manager) and I both agreed on that being the tires which he informed me were about 169 plus tax each (which the price of 4 would be more thn 676 plus tax)! He called me back 2 days later and informed me that he could still throw the tires in if I could find away to come up with the $1800, we agreed. But if the tires are about $700 or so that leaves $1100 in repairs to my engine in which were neva done. Now let me fast forward it is now almost 2 weeks since Ray and Midas has had my vehicle and the only thing that has been repaired on my vehicle were the tires. Also ever since I said it was a go for the $1800 in repairs Ray on Feb. 4,2014 has been telling me I can come pick the vehicle up tomorrow which would have been Feb.5, 21014 and when I call he says tomorrow, then the next day then the next day until Feb.10, arrives and I decide to go take a look at what their doing because something isn't adding up. I get to the Midas Shop on 3302 N Oracle and what do you know my vehicle isn't there they've takien it to emission to do an illegal emission test(who agreed to that not me, that's why I paid my money to fix the vehicle properly and legit) on the vehicle so it will pass for the Dmv registration. So I'm informed by Ray to call back at 230pm and the vehicle will be finished, again that was a lie. The next day he was supposed to call me and neva did, which was Feb. 11, and I left him a message and informed Ray that this was ridiculous, the service was unacceptable and whether the vehicle was finished or not I will be coming down tomorrow Feb.12, 2014 to pick up my vehicle. Well what do you know he calls me the next day and says it will be ready in 45 minutes which would have been about 12 noon on Feb 12, 2014 and I meet him on the vacant corner of 22nd and Alvernon at a closed down Shell station (which was his choice, kind of odd to me but I didnt know this until I arrived and was fed up and wanted my vehicle back). I listened to the engine and it sounded like just maybe some repairs had finally been done. I immediately open the engine compartment and to my discovery didnt see anything that had been repaired on the vehicle but maybe some spark plug wires, which I had told him, in which he responded it was mostly internal engine work and I'm not a mechanic but something just didn't sit right with me about this situation and the repairs but I paid my $1800 recieved a reciept and left in my vehicle. I got three blocks down the streets and the vehicle started driving worst then it had before I brought it to Ray at Midas, so I immediately called him back and what do you know All of a sudden he's not answering but before I gave you the $1800 I had just spoken with him on this same number 2 minutes before! So I drove straight to Midas Shop on N Oracle and demanded my money back and was informed that within 10 minutes Ray managed to drop the money I just gave him in the bank already and wouldnt be able to refund it although( Being a business owner myself knew that was a lie because you don't make different drops you drop all at the same time at the end of the day or put it in the safe until the Real drop), I told him I am leaving the vehicle that he didn't repair here for him to repair and that I want my money back and once the repairs been done I will galdly come back and pay the rightful amount! Ray told me give him 30 minutes and the job will be fix and I will be on my way I was very upset and didnt want to wait but did and 7 hours later the job was still not done but Ray assured me everything was repaired and I hopped on the road with my vehicle and It broke down on me just like he knew, and I knew it would. (Also before I hopped on the road I asked if I could have the Owners number and he tells me no then puts me on the phone with another GM "Tim" and Tim didn't want to give me the Owners number either). Too make a longer story longer I am now today going thru Better Business Bureau along with legal action as we speak. BOTTOM LINE I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR NON-REPAIR JOB DONE AS WELL AS MY TIME WASTED AND OTHER MONEY I HAVE TO PAY TO REPAIR IT THE RIGHT WAY! read more

I am very disappointed with the lack of integrity with which this business is run. I went in for a basic oil change which is advertised at $12.99, and comes out to $19.99 after the "fees" that they apply which is still very reasonable. However, when two very clearly non-English speaking guys came in for the basic oil change, and pointed at the sign for the $12.99 deal, the mechanic (Brad) used deceptive language to get them to agree to do a synthetic oil change without indicating the huge price difference. I am unfortunately accustomed to having mechanics tell me I need several unnecessary repairs, and know to take a closer look before handing over my credit card. The problem is that the mechanics at this Midas location are taking advantage of people who have less knowledge about cars or a language barrier. Hey im a tech and i know a good weld when i see one, i have experience with welding myself and all i can say is wow, what a great job they did on my 2003 dodge ram 1500, i had them remove my old exhaust and install a new muffler and piping. The price was right and they got it done fast, and they took good care of my truck. All i can say is thanks to the whole staff, great work, great pricing and great customer service!!! read more

So I bring a 94 Buick in for a cheap oil change, and engine codes, 5 hours later, they have a repair bill of things needed, over $1200. 3 days later and I am still waiting for this car to be repaired. I went in for a simple oil change. They do checks to see what else might be going on with your vehicle -- great. They said my rear shocks were leaking and even showed me the "leak", as well as recommending just about every fluid be flushed and changed due to the mileage of the vehicle (140,000 so fair enough). I am not working right now so I could not afford any of that (estimated around $650). Concerned, I ended up taking their list to a personal mechanic I have used for years. He showed me the shocks again and explained that it was just road dirt and they did not need to be replaced. He also checked and showed me all the fluids, which were full and clean. He also said the transmission fluid (one they said needed flushed) was a weird model that only speciality shops usually can flush (the kind with two holes rather than a dipstick), so he didn't think they would have done more than dust it off and call it a day because they likely could not do that in their shop. What he did say was going was my motor mounts (causing the shaking on my vehicle -- the only problem I had noticed) and that even that was more annoying than critical right now. So while I found the service for the oil change quick and affordable, the dishonesty with the rest is really upsetting. I am not knowledgeable about cars and trust that someone providing a service will be honest and inform me. They were not. I will not have my oil changed there in the future to avoid this issue. For me customer loyalty is earned through honesty, trust, and integrity. read more

i went to midas three times in the last 9 mos & felt fairly confident that the repairs done were needed & priced appropriately..but not this last time. a month ago, i tried to start the car, but it wouldn't start. i had the car towed to Midas & the diagnosis was a ignition module, with an estimate of $975.00 !! got a second diagnosis from Borst auto ( said it was a faulty chip in the key itself ) the estimate was $451. the new key / chip had to be ordered from germany. the whole process took 2 weeks, but i saved over $400. MY BEST ADVICE...ALWAYS , IF POSSIBLE, GET A 2ND OPINION !! read more
