Yummy! I've always noticed this place but never went to it until recently. The service was EXTREMELY quick! Like as soon as I paid my food was basically ready. The food was nice and hot all the way home! If you do eat there, just know it's outdoor seating with two full-size picnic tables with a tarp over it. The parking lot is right next to the seats though, so honestly wouldn't hurt to just eat in your car if you wanted. The tri-tip was delicious! The meat was very tender and juicy and I appreciated the sauce on the side! The rice pilaf was just okay. It's not like it was the main dish, but served as an excellent side. The prices are also great!

Okay, now I understand the good reviews! Came here to order to-go just to realized they were actually meant for to-go orders. No indoor dining, they do have a small area with benches and tables to eat... if you cant wait to take it home. Tri-tip is perfectly done. Juicy, tasty but not salty! Note that I took a bite as soon as I received my order. Service was quick.

Hidden gem! One of the best tri tip sandwiches I've had. More smoky natural Tri tip taste. Will be back!

Food was amazing! The bread has a nice garlic butter glaze. It still had that nice soft touch inside while maintaining its outer crisp. The meat was a solid 8.4/10.. smokiness was there, needs more juicy "Tri -tip" flavor I would say. Service was mid. If you hungry for a quick good Tri tip. This your place!

Been by this place several times when I go shopping next-door. This time I was with my siblings and mom and I mentioned the tri-tip sandwiches so they convinced me to pull in and order some. A small place, letting a gentleman working both nice and polite. So I ordered us a couple of the jumbo tri-tip sandwiches sandwiches or full meat and flavorful added the barbecue sauce they provide for extra bowl taste. did enjoy the sandwiches have no problem stopping by for another one when I'm in the area.

Regular Tri tip sandwich. BBQ sauce on the side.

Quick, no frills place, with window service. Consistently great sandwiches. They have lots of other things on the menu that are great, also, but that's always my go to meal. The sesame roll is toasted and buttery. It is never soggy and just thick enough to hold the Tri tip. The BEST. the BBQ sauce is honey thick, sweet and tangy. You can pick up a whole tri-tip, and they have great sides. Service is friendly and efficient. Everyone there is really nice. There's a few tables and chairs outside, beneath a pop-up shade, if you would like to eat there.

I have always passed by this place.. and my fiancée and I finally tried it out. We went on a Saturday around noon, there was only one couple ahead of us. Service was quick! We ordered a Jumbo Tri-Tip, a small Coleslaw and a small rice pilaf to share. There is minimal outside seating... so we decided to bring the food home. The tri-tip sandwich is VERY GOOD!!! It was tender and the BBQ sauce on the side was a good touch! I would come back for this! The rice pilaf was delicious, and flavorful! The coleslaw had too much vinegar for my taste. I'd skip this next time.

Lil spot to sit and eat , all outdoors

Wait you sell tri-tip, grilled hot dogs and rice pilaf!! Well say no more, delicious tri tip sandwich, perfectly grilled hot dog and bun! You a not go wrong with Mike's Grill! Be aware operational hours are just a little different than most. Whenever you're in the "dog" house and can not find a seat and want that tasty tri tip head over to this grill house! Parking is plentiful, minimal seating be prepared to eat in your car if you that huuungry and can't wait till you get home!! Great spot , good and food , give it a try and get out of the "dog" house sometimes it's better !!!

Ridiculous yet practical! Only PRO eaters into their 'eating tools/helps' need apply. Lightbulbs went off!

Where do they cook their tri tip? And their other food?

    In our commissary kitchen

Anyone else having issues calling ahead to order , phone keeps ringing and no one ever answers?

Yeah, unfortunately they only have 3 people working in the booth. With the high volume of calls they receive it's bound to happen.

The one time we have clearly overcooked meat that tastes like horse the manager completely dismissed my 72-yo mother in a very rude way. I guess selling "1000s of sandwiches today with zero complaints" is good enough to completely dismiss us. What likely happened was they saved the overcooked meat till the end of the day (we went 20 minutes before closing) and we were the schmucks that got it. What really pissed me off though is that the manager had veins popping out of his neck. The way he was talking to my elderly mother was inappropriate. Thankfully he cooled down when I walked up to the conversation. All she wanted was to replace our 4 tritip sandwiches with another. Whoever the manager was needs some serious customer service training and needs to learn how to speak to people.

Spicy cabbage - it was not spicy it was sweet and gooey and it was not good 6. Cornbread - a bit burnt for our liking 7. Lemon pudding cake - this was decent but also overly sweet. By the time we left the staff warmed up to having people there. They also charged 2 dollars for water which I thought was not okay. Water should be free at any restaurant. We paid 6 dollars for koolaid as well which is very high but it was good. Our entire bill was 46 and I feel like for what we got it wasn't a good deal. The restrooms were disgusting. I am not sure if I would be back. I was really looking forward to this place but I'll stick with chef Paul's.

Before I say anything about the food, the atmosphere was amazing. We were greeted even before hitting the door by the owner and the team at the smoker. I've been lucky enough to taste brisket at some of the best BBQ joints in Texas, and Mega is on par with any of them. The trip tip was tender and full of flavor, and the hot links nice and smoky. We were also able to try a house made jalapeno and Jack sausage that will blow your mind. Did I mention the sides? Brisket chili beans, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. Every single side dish was on point. I don't like my potato salad with a bunch of other stuff mixed in, and this one didn't miss. Hold up. Ever hear about Alabama sauce? Why hasn't anyone ever told me about. Alabama sauce? This concoction was delicious. A bbq sauce that's mayo based? Sign me up! You need to try it. My family was up in Merced and on our way back to Bakersfield when we felt like trying BBQ, Westwoods was the selection. Pulling up I was caught off guard on the curb appeal this place had, I became ecstatic with some big backness. The parking lot seemed packed but maybe it was the Chipotle nearby that drew people in because the place was a little empty for a Wednesday evening or maybe their peak is at other times. People walking out with ToGo bags, my first instinct is either they give alot of food or it wasn't that great. Our party of four was sat fairly quick, alot of open tables but there was a birthday party happening in a private room. Oddly they sat us at a table for six when there was an empty table for four right next to us, nothing wrong just odd. I believe our waitress name was Riley, quite pleasant and allowed us ample time for reviewing the menu. We started off with water, soda and one of my sons an alcoholic drink. Drinks came in no time, but the time between that and when our waitress returned for our food order was long but we ordered two of "The Ultimate" platters, one "The Feast" platter, a large order of Jalapeno Cornbread and a Baked Potato. At the table there are 3 sauces, a spicy bbq, original bbq and a mustard bbq, I opted not to try the spicy, the original and mustard are good but even better when mixed. The Ultimate consists of: -Sliced Brisket -Smoked Half Chicken -Baby Back Ribs -House Beef Hot Link -Housemade Pickles/Onions -2 Sides which we picked Green Beans & Scalloped Potatoes -Texas Toast The Feast consists of: -St. Louis Ribs -Sliced Tri Tip -Fried Chicken Strips -Fries -Creamed Corn -Baked Beans -Coleslaw -Cornbread Now we did we order that much? To try everything, DUH! Here's my opinion, not my wife's, not my two sons, MINE.... The sliced brisket was decently moist for the most part but lacked seasoning. The chicken was dry and lacked seasoning. The Baby Back Ribs were good however not the star for me. The beef hot link was dry but great flavor, almost seemed like it was marinated with beer. Green beans were ok but the scalloped potatoes were freaking amazing, just wished they add some crunch on top, maybe panko or something. Cornbread was too moist for me and the baked potato was lukewarm, some parts needed to be cooked and the butter wasn't melting at all. The only thing I tried from The Feast was the baked beans, I liked them but not crazy about them. Customer service was good, waitress did keep in touch and asked for refills but with the food lacking flavor severely and the dryness of the meat, I barely can say a 2-star. I saw the reviews before we visited, I was anticipating great to excellent food but left upset we spent $200.00 for dinner I regretted.
