Long overdue on this review, but we came here for my birthday about a year ago with a large group, so we ordered everything and ate family-style. This place just blew us away; without a doubt the best thing I put in my mouth was the fried pork chop--something I'm not really a fan of, so I was very pleasantly surprised. Delicious grass fed beef burger to be found here which they were kind enough to split at no charge fries included. Buttery crispy bun with sharp cheddar cheese added to the magic of the whole profile of the burger. Ketchup is made in house to dip the fries or put on the burger too. I prefer all the trimmings to be on the side and not influence the med rare beefy goodness. House made ice cream Carmel sandwich was a stunner I wanted to hug the chef or whoever made the sandwich. We were not impressed... We shared shrimp with cornbread salad. The shrimp was delicious but cornbread was mushy and wired texture. Something crunch would have been a better texture. My experience at Miller Union was pretty close to five stars. I came on an ordinary Tuesday night, reservations booked through OpenTable. We were one of the first to arrive, but the restaurant filled to capacity quickly. Miller Union is a contemporary Southern farm-to-table restaurant, a la Empire State South. Organic, sustainable, locally-sourced produce and meats, etc. The restaurant opened two years ago in Westside. It's a couple blocks south of the White Provision development (Abbatoir, Ormsby's, Yeah! Burger, Yoforia). I think it's currently the only tenant in its building. Complimentary valet parking is available directly in front of the restaurant, but there's plenty of street parking available on Brady too. This place has some very cool architecture and design. The bar has warehouse-style square windows that look into one of the dining areas. There are four distinct dining sections plus an outdoor patio. The flooring inside varies from concrete to hardwood to carpet. Some of the rooms are decorated with traditional Southern-style cabinetry, countertops, and shelves. They have a vintage look to them. Pickled vegetables in jars (the same ones they serve) sit atop some of the counters. The menu is seasonal and simple. All the produce and meats are from Georgia or surrounding states. The only special being served the night of my visit was a charcuterie board. After hearing the server's detailed description, I knew I had to get it. Here are the items I ended up trying: Special charcuterie board: lardo (fatback), chicken liver mousse, pork taurine, duck prosciutto, beef tongue pastrami, pickled radish and carrots Braised rabbit, radishes, carrots, creamed turnips Housemade pork sausage, potato puree, hunter's sauce Sea Island red peas The charcuterie board featured several interesting meats. The lardo was basically thin slices of pig fat. It was very stretchy and didn't taste like much. I had to eat a lot of it at one time to really get a good sense of the flavor. The chicken liver mousse had some apple puree on top to give it sweetness. Served in a bowl, we used it as a spread for our toasted bread. It was both soft and dense. The pork taurine was served with a spicy mustard made in-house. It was essentially pork meatloaf. It's called pork taurine because "taurine" is the name of the dish that the pork is cooked in. This meat had deviled (slightly spiced up) chicken liver on the inside. Delicious. Both the duck prosciutto and beef tongue pastrami were delicate. The duck prosciutto had strong flavor. It was served with sweet bread and butter pickles. The beef tongue pastrami was served with housemade beer mustard. Both of these meats were fantastic. The charcuterie board was accompanied by pickled radish and carrots, both of which were quite sour. I thoroughly enjoyed the board, but do not recommend sharing it with more than one other person since the serving sizes of each of the meats is small. The mains were excellent. The rabbit was soft, tender, and savory throughout. There were 4-5 small bones in the meat, but it wasn't a big deal. The radishes and carrots were nice, but it was the creamed turnips that stole the show. It had a really appetizing consistency. As good as the rabbit was, the pork sausage was even better. Cooked evenly, each bite was succulent and the sausage wasn't overbearing (not too salty or spicy). The potato puree was so finely whipped, it was almost like soup. The Sea Island red peas were served in a medium-sized bowl, good enough for two people. These peas tasted just like black-eyed peas. They also resembled black-eyed peas, except for their color (red). Great side. Our server, Joshua, was a machine. His knowledge of every item on the menu was impeccable. He was incredibly informative and detailed. A fantastic server. My only complaints about Miller Union are some of the small portion sizes. It compares unfavorably to its peers, but it's close. Overall though, I really like the food here. read more

Excellent food and service. The combination of flavors is surprising and fun, and they all work so well together. I also love all the house-made items (including the soda!! Peach soda or rhubarb lemonade, anyone?). How about the charcuterie?! You cannot go wrong with any of the starters. Incredible. We ordered: fried corn fritters, baked egg (so good!), charcuterie (pork pate!!!!), pork belly (holy crap), and hummus. All were great hits. Only slight miss is in the entrees. The pork chop was good, but not as "life changing" as the starters. The duck breast was supposed to be medium rare but came out more medium/almost well done. But the flavors were all great. Service is great. Attentive but not overbearing and our server knew every detail of every dish, and made superb recommendations for our group. read more

Impressive! This place is fantastic, and they do a wonderful job all around from service to flavors to presentation. We did Saturday lunch: the shrimp app, the smoked trout spread, and the deviled eggs with confit chicken. I'd have been happy to have just ordered all that again for my main (which one of our party did). My wife and I split the chicken sandwich and the ham and cheese sandwich... wow. Miller Union has been on my bucket list of places to dine for a while, and I have some highs and lows. My friends and I ordered the scallops as an appetizer, and thought they were really flavorful. It typically comes with two apparently, but was offered to add a third since it was a party of three, so thought that was a nice suggestion. The steak was my main entree, and it was pretty good. The food was all pretty good, but I just wasn't particularly wow'd. I would come again, but maybe I'd order something else? Would definitely give it a second chance though. read more

Very COVID-friendly! I was seated on the patio, which is actually quite nice and warm, even on a colder night! The service, food, and ambiance are all top-notch. The menu is simple, yet very flavourful food. I had the chicken and the steak and both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, if you enjoy a dessert that's a little less sweet, go for the Cornbread Cake. The right mix of sweet and savoury to end a wonderful dinner. I must say, my favourite part of this restaurant is...the wine list! Oh my goodness, this wine list is not to be missed! So many benchmark producers at prices that won't break the bank. Great customer service. Even better ambiance with different types and areas of seating. Farm egg baked in celery cream, grilled bread. We were confused about how to share this appetizer. TIP: use the spoon provided! If I wasn't sharing, I would just use my bread to break the egg and soak up the cream. I only got one chance of trying a bite so I scooped up the white chunks. Turned out I got too much egg and not enough of a balance of the celery taste. While I could smell the celery, I did not taste it like the others. Smoked rabbit mousse, housemade pickles, grilled bread. The way it was prepared, it looked like a chicken salad. I didn't find this a shock my palate. Definitely add the garnishes to give more flavor. Confit duck leg, fiddleheads, local mushrooms, sunchokes, dandelion greens. Strong flavor. A bit salty for my sensitive palate. I enjoyed the various vegetables though. One spiral green crunchy veggie tasted like okra to me and I liked it. Beeliner snapper, butter poached potatoes, radishes, leeks, radish pistou. Snapper is tender and flakey. Normally I don't like too much salt but this saltiness was just right for the skin. Skin was just great! Braised rabbit, caramelized fennel, english peas, vidalias, olives, rabbit bacon. The rabbit itself lacked flavor for me. Our waiter is professional, patient, and very accommodating. For our main course, I had the grouper and oh was it cooked perfectly and so very delicious. The only downside was the room we were seated in was very dark with no windows. I've been waiting for years to go to Miller Union - it's been consistently in the top restaurants of Atlanta. Finally got a chance to go, on a Friday, we hopped on 2 empty seats at the bar. Service: First impression was not good, all the bartenders ignored us as we sat down, finally in a pass one of them asks what we want. I ask for a dinner menu, and some questions on two cocktails. The answer was very laconic as in "they are different", i was really expecting more of a description of the cocktails but I did not get it, so I let it go. I order one of them, which turns out just ok, very floral ( wish he would have mentioned that). Food: Now to get to the food, which I had hoped it would make up for the non friendly bar service. Charcuterie board : A joke, it was essentially half a loaf of bread and 3 slices of pancetta. Nobody explained even what the meats were... but they were very scarce, probably one of the saddest charcuterie boards I've seen in a while and did not strike me as high quality meat, or cured in the house .. who knows. A board usually comes with a story, maybe I've been spoiled. At $20+ for a board I was expecting way more. Scallops (appetizer): Just ok, I think they are executed better at other top Atlanta restaurants, and at $8 a scallop I felt like I was a bit robbed. Lemon Ricotta Ravioli (Main course) : I was envisioning this to be a fat juicy homemade ravioli. The dish came out, I thought they had brought me the wrong thing. The dish was all soaked in some juice, like a soup; the the ravioli were the flattest, soggiest ravioli I've ever had, no joke. It was quite awful, probably the biggest disappointment of the night. Steak (main course) : steak was good, but nothing memorable that I would want to come back for. Drinks: Cocktails were ok, I didn't know what to order because the bartender didn't feel like recommending or describing something. We switched to wine , and asked for a Malbec. He told me they don't carry Malbec, so I was like ok, I'll have a Cabernet Sauvignon (I wanted a full body wine to go with my steak). After looking at me like I just ordered a Coors Light, the bartender then tells me that they don't carry the Cab either, because "we do things differently around here." I think I might have burst in a laughter at that point. I tried 3 of the wines he recommended, one of them a Bordeaux which was $20/glass, and I thought they were all watered down and light. I'm not a wine connoisseur by any means, but I've been to many vineyards in Napa, France, and Italy, and I think I can taste a decent wine. Jackpot! Despite my doubts, this place did not disappoint. We started off with the famous farm egg baked in celery cream with grilled bread. A must-try! Personally it didn't have that HUGE wow factor since you can guess what it would taste like, but the dish is very creative and a good start to your meal. As a first timer, you definitely cannot pass on this. For entree, I had the bone-in porkchop with slow cooked field pea succotash, arugula, and blueberry gastrique. Wow, I cleaned my plate. Everything was delicious! Very impressive that every little item had its own great flavors and yet complemented each other very well. Don't forget to order the cornmeal fried okra! This thing is addicting with just a pinch of salt to make you keep grabbing. Now for the dessert~ My boyfriend was looking forward to getting their homemade ice cream sandwiches, but unfortunately we found out that these are only available during lunch, which gives us an excuse for our next visit. Despite this minor setback, we ordered the brown butter fig tart with honey sesame praline ice cream and fig jam. It felt like Thanksgiving, which is always good. It tasted like a pecan pie but with figs and made us very happy. In addition, we ordered the scoop of the day, which was peach, plum, and ginger ice cream. Though I thought the ginger flavor overpowered the other flavors just by a tad, my boyfriend loved it :) Needless to say, our meal was very pleasant. It also helped that our server, Jonathan, was very informative, knowledgeable, and catering. One of the best servers we've had! Kudos~ On our future visit, I would like to try their cocktail selections as they looked very colorful, eye-catching, and refreshing. We did have the pleasure on tasting one of their white and red wines and it was 2 thumbs up. We recently came back from Napa so we would like to think that our taste is on point and these wines that we had here were one of the better ones in all the restaurants that we have been. I prefer the sweeter white wine and the Joh. Jos. Prum Riesling Kabinett Mosel was one of the best with a very unique flavor with a touch of plum or apricot aroma. For the red wine, we prefer the dark, smokey, rustic taste, which was satisfied by Alvaro Palacios Camis del Priorat Garnacha. All in all, I found a new go to restaurant in Atlanta. Oh, one last note, I almost died trying to turn into the restaurant. Almost made that left into the parking lot but to be blocked by a small sign that stated not to enter and I had a car behind me and car coming straight ahead of me, head on... Where do I begin? My journey, adventure at Miller Union started with a group of colleagues about 8 of us we were celebrating the end of a school year(a pricey celebration, yes). We started with wine service, our waiter was amazing and recommend we start with a bottle for the table that was light palpable to taste buds. With appetizers I think we might have had at least one of everything on the menu. The crowd favorites was the Creme Egg with grilled bread. This is the weirdest most delicious appetizer I've had, in a long time imagine heavy cream seasoned smooth buttery egg with celery with egg in the center the egg is slightly cooked and our waiter takes a spoon and cracks the yolk and stirs it violently at the table with the hot cream cooking the egg added to. read more

Miller Union very quickly became my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. I've been here three times -- twice for dinner and once for lunch. The food is always exceptional (locally-sourced!) and the service is attentive and thoughtful. The interior of the restaurant is also gorgeous and spacious. Their ice cream sandwiches (made in house) that they serve at lunch are absolutely absurd. I was blown away. We have dined in at Miller Union in the past and loved it - but this review is for the recent takeout meal we got. We did a fried chicken family meal which came with a nice salad, dessert, and a couple of sides (mashed sweet potatoes were ON POINT). Everything was delicious (even the salad was so tasty for a simple dish) and really fairly priced for such a nice restaurant. We also got a pork chop entree and some appetizers/sides. I don't like okra but I loved it here. The customer service was great too. We called the day before to claim our fried chicken since they can run out - and they made sure to call the next afternoon to ensure us the order is in and receive the rest of our order. Visited this place on a Friday at 8:15pm. The place was packed so a reservation is highly recommended. We (party of two) started with the baby kale dish and the signature egg dish they serve. Both were good but nothing out of the ordinary. Next we shared the goat cheese ravioli as if it was an appetizer which was really good. Also the portion is more of an appetizer given it had in total 7-8 pieces, great to share. For our main dishes we shared the snapper filet and the duck dish. Again both are delicious but I enjoyed the duck more. Thought the beetroot tahini and the oranges worked really with the snapper. Finally we ended with the chocolate ganache skillet, really good but the ice cream that came with it was just ok. Enjoyed my birthday dinner here last night with eleven friends and had a good experience. The food was great and the waitstaff were exceptional. Valet was also fast and easy. Started of with the Miller Thyme (gin, lemon, thyme) cocktail. For starters, the farm egg in celery cream was just both visually clever and so delicious--as was the side of beets and sunchoke. For my main dish, I ordered the grilled pork loin (cooked medium) served over some divinely prepared heirloom beans with bacon, pecans, and topped with shredded brussel sprouts. I also had a taste of my friend's country chicken which was also good. Some parts of my pork loin were just a wee bit dry, but overall it was a solid 4.5 out of 5 dish. Flavorful, local GA ingredients, well prepared, can't go wrong. I will also add that we did have all twelve of our main plates come out at once in a relatively decent amount of time, so that was a positive too. For dessert, I split the blood orange pound cake with rosemary ice cream and that was absolutely amazing. I really, really loved that dish. I will come back to order it again. Finished everything off with a coffee--and even that was a great tasting cup of joe. The downside is that it's not a large space from what I could tell, and they were only able to accommodate reservations--even more than a month out--for party sizes twelve or less without requiring the private room and a $3000 minimum (I am not entirely sure if that is 100% true all the time but that's what I was told). After I tried to schedule a dinner reservation for Valentines Day weekend and was unable to, I opted for lunch on the weekend. I was back in Atlanta for my birthday, and super eager to try this place since it kept popping up on lists of best places to try in Atlanta. Needless to say, I left Miller Union disappointed. Yes, the decor is nice. Almost in a farmhouse style, very open. There is valet parking, but I was able to easily find free street parking on a Saturday afternoon. Note, this may be challenging at night on the weekend since the massive club Compound is right across the street. I was seated quickly, but even without a reservation, there would not have been a long wait. Once my friend arrived, a knowledgeable server came over and provided us with meal recommendations upon request. My friend and I both tried their housemade sodas. I went for vanilla, and she went for cranberry. My soda was sweeter than the server described, and left a lingering aftertaste. The cranberry was better, and I wish I had ordered that instead for the $3.50 it cost. The lunch menu that day included a few entree options. I ordered the shrimp and grits while my friend got the quail and dirty rice. I was going back and forth between the burger and shrimp and grits, but felt silly ordering a burger from a Southern restaurant. So I went for the cheeseless grits. Overall, the sauce was tasty and the shrimp were cooked well. However, the grits weren't cooked thoroughly because some were still grainy. I wasn't looking for texture in my meal, and found it anyway. The portion size was just enough. Definitely not a healthy serving, and not so small that it was laughable. At the end of the day, I would have appreciated more food. However, it was a relatively low price point for the entree at 15, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. My friend ordered the quail and dirty rice because she was trying to be adventurous. I did not taste her food because she said it was salty, and I am salt sensitive after beginning a clean eating meal plan. The dish came with two small quail pieces, and no veggies. She ended up eating only half, and was very hungry afterwards. I let the server know about her feedback because she didn't want to say. He took off the entree from our bill, which we learned after asking for the bill. Overall, this is probably not someplace I need to try again. At least not for lunch. Maybe that farm egg appetizer is worth a return, but there's so many options in Atlanta that I can probably find another place to try instead. read more

Came here for a New Year's Eve dinner and it was a mixed bag. Miller Union was serving its normal dinner menu for NYE with a few specials, so while the restaurant was crowded, it wasn't that much different from usual. Highlights of the meal included the cocktails, which were creative and well-made, though I would've preferred a few more vodka/gin-based cocktails on the menu. Some of the appetizers and sides, such as hummus plate, the (chicory, I think) salad, and the vegetable side platter were quite tasty and well put together. In addition, one of my friends ordered the chicken, which while a safe choice, was good on its own merits. However, there were some clear misses. The hummus was quite good, but it was served in a tiny ramekin with just four pieces of cracker and way too much raw veggies. The cerviche was spicy for some reason; I've never come across spicy cerviche and its spiciness was not noted on the menu. Two of my friends ordered the pork shoulder, of which a good hunk of each of their pieces was pure fat. The kitchen should've trimmed it better during prep. My brisket was served with greens and polenta in a very salty brown gravy that quickly rendered the polenta and brisket difficult to eat. Service was excellent from both our server and the manager that night. But the menu could've been better thought out and/or executed. We chose Miller Union because two of my friends said that their brunch was excellent, but it seems like their dinner isn't quite up to par. read more

A trendy, hipster sort of place with overpriced mediocre food. The Cornmeal Fritters were good, but they were essentially Hush Puppies. The Farro Salad with Beets was bland, as was the Egg in Celery Cream (which should have come with more than 4 halves of toasted bread). Likewise with the Quail, which was good but rather listless and one dimensional. The kitchen seems shy of garlic and spices. We shared one desert, a Blueberry Tart with a shortbread crust. It was not a tart, just a tart shell filled with fresh blueberries (topped with a small scoop of delicious honey-lavender sorbet), and the crust was too thick(!) to break with the provided spoons. The cocktails and wines by the glass start at $14. The wine list is extensive but very pricey. Our server was delightful, but not well trained, which is the responsibility of management. The feta snack I didn't really care for. The crudités were good and it's a nice light option. The feta wasn't my fav flavor though- very goat cheesy. The trout was good but pretty small. One piece of fish with a purée and some legumes. Unfortunately my husband order this one, so he ended up eating a lot of mine. The fried catfish was so good! I thought the portion was good, too. I was full after eating half. The bread was wonderful. I don't know how else to describe it and the fish was really light. I usually hate fried fish but this was done perfectly. Also, The fries were yummy. As everyone says, the ice cream sandwiches were good. I have banana and it was really flavorful- great banana flavor. The restaurant wasn't very busy. Service was a tad overbearing. It seemed like they didn't have enough to do so a lot of people were very focused on us. They'd try to clear a plate right as we took the last bite. Miller Union was a good restaurant that with a little work could be a great restaurant. Ambiance- nothing special here. It's your standard "industrial hipster" vibe- Concrete floor, exposed ductwork, that kind of thing. Not terrible, but not exciting. Where it really fails is with noise. There are no soft surfaces- no rugs, curtain, or those sound reducing panels. As a result it is LOUD. Ear splittingly loud. Like- you are literally shouting at the person across the table from you, and they still can't hear you or you them. Be good at lip reading if you want to eat here. The other downside to the excessive volume level is that your server can't hear you either. So in order to answer questions or take your order they have to get disconcertingly close. I mean right up in your face. It's uncomfortable and jarring to have a stranger have to practically brush their lips against your ear. They need to hang some noise reduction panels STAT. Service was attentive. What you would expect from a restaurant at this price point. Food was outstanding. Everything we had was truly delicious. The spring pea salad was especially a standout. But that brings me to my other issue with this restaurant. We had heard great things about the food here- so we wanted to try lots of different things. We were celebrating that evening and decided to splurge and go whole hog- just order everything that sounded good so that we could try it all. We knew we'd have way more food than we could eat, but figured we could just take it home and eat it the next day. We spent $281, before tip, if that gives you a clue how much food we're talking about. When we were finished eating several staff members came and collected our plates and took them away to box up for us. A nice touch. It definitely raises the classiness level of a restaurant when they box your leftovers for you instead of expecting you to do it yourself. However, this elevated level of service fell apart in the execution. They boxed all of our leftovers together. Each dish didn't get its own box. They literally just dumped everything that would fit all in a box together. They wrote on the boxes to label what was in them for us. One said "fish quail." Ew. The worst offender though was "sides," where they literally took every single side dish we had ordered and dumped it all together- creating an unholy mishmash of flavors that rendered all of our previously delicious food completely inedible. We're talking watermelon salad mixed with charcuterie pickles, creamed corn, and an egg with celery sauce. When I got home and opened the box, after my stomach stopped doing nauseated somersaults I just threw the whole thing away. I hate wasting food, but watermelon corn pickle eggs in cream sauce wasn't something I was willing to endure. I feel like Miller Union owes me a refund for all the food I paid for but didn't get to eat due to their staffs' boxing incompetence. Which is a shame, because I was really looking forward to eating it. Like I said, the food itself was truly outstanding. The restaurant is located in West Midtown area and serves southern new American food using fresh farm ingredients. The restaurant itself has great ambience: nice soft music playing on the background, and the entire restaurant, which is actually large, is broken down into several smaller areas, which allows for a cozy yet chic feel. Needless to say the staff is very welcoming and friendly, the southern friendly. The menu wasn't extensive, but all the dishes seemed very unique in its own way making you want to try everything. For the appetizer, I went with the Farm Egg baked in celery cream with grilled bread, and I think I did a great choice. I was worried a bit about the celery cream because I'm not a fan of celery, but I didn't taste it much; what I tasted was a creamy yet light, rich flavor with a hint of tender sweetness. My choice of main course was the Grilled Quail with beets, spinach, vidalia (first time I heard this word and it stands for a type of sweet onions), strawberries and spring onion soubise (basically a purée of onions and butter - don't recall seeing that word before either). Did not regret that either! The dish was light (for a meat dish) yet filling, and you can taste that food comes fresh from the farm. I wonder how they cooked red beet, as it came out so juicy and tender (not an easy task for beets!); the sweet onion soubise complemented the dish perfectly, and the strawberries were full of flavor yet not too sweet with a light smoky taste. Food and ambience was spot on for our group's holiday gathering. I would definitely return.

Easily my new favorite ATL restaurant! I was looking for a place other than our usual spots for my birthday dinner and landed on Miller Union after seeing Atlanta Magazine ranked it the second best restaurant in Atlanta. We made a reservation and went on a Monday, and it was packed. We arrived right at the time of our reservation, but had to wait 20 minutes to actually be seated at our table. However, the hostess was attentive and gave us frequent updates while we sat at the bar, and once seated at our table, the manager and waiter were both very apologetic. Because of our wait, we were given a free butterbean hummus and feta snack with house-made lavash, which was delicious. In addition to this, we also ordered the grouper ceviche, which was some of the best ceviche I've ever had. It was fresh and had the perfect balance of lime juice. As a self-proclaimed craft cocktail connoisseur, this place has my seal of approval. I had an Old Fashioned and The Swinger (aged rum, falernum, ginger-lemon, pineapple, lime)... About as polar opposite as they could be, but both so good. The best drink at the table, though, was A Modern Classic (rye, amontillado sherry, gran classico, benedictine). For dinner, I had the Grass-Fed Flank Steak with snap beans, cherry tomatoes, feta, and eggplant puree. I'm not usually a big fan of steak, but I thought I'd give it a go, and I'm so glad that I did. It was flavorful and perfectly balanced with the eggplant puree. Everyone else had the Grilled Pork Loin, which was also amazing, but we all agreed that my dish won. On the side, we split the Seasonal Vegetable Plate, but switched out the sliced tomatoes for double Cornmeal Fried Okra, which was a damn good idea. For dessert, we had the Brown Sugar Custard with homemade "fig newtons" and Apple Cobbler with sorghum ice cream. Both fantastic. And if you like traditional fig newtons, theirs are to die for. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was friendly, fast, and helpful, as well as everyone else we encountered. He was even so nice as to bring us another cocktail when one of ours got knocked over on the table. Miller Union takes southern cuisine to the next level. First time at this restaurant. Overall, food was just okay. Best appetizer was probably the corn fritters. For entree, I got the New York strip. The taste was good, but it was fairly small...could not have been over 6oz. Best dishes, by far, were the mutliple desserts shared by the table. Service was terrible and absolutely inexcusable given the amount of money spent. On the food, we waited well over 45 minutes between ordering the main course and receiving it. Drinks took forever and many of us sat with empty drinks multiple times. I ended up asking three times for one drink over the course of 30+ minutes. Dessert drinks came out when dessert was almost finished, and one person didn't even get theirs. Hopefully others have a better experience, especially with the service, but this was our first and last time here. read more

Amazing! I was in Atlanta for a weekend and my goal was to eat as much Southern food as my stomach would allow. I came here for lunch after reading numerous glowing reviews about this place. My meal exceeded all of my expectations. What we ordered: - Pimento cheese and cornmeal hoecakes ($8) - these were phenomenal and probably my bf's favorite. The pimento cheese had an amazingly tangy flavor that contrasted so well with the heartiness of the hoecakes. We buy a lot of pimento cheese from Murray's Cheese but the pimento cheese we had here is so much better. - Field green & boiled peanut salad ($12) - this came highly recommended by our waiter and while it was pretty good, it was overshadowed by the hoecakes and the quail. With the amount of legumes in this dish, it's quite filling for a salad (though it does run afoul of the lectin-free GOOP diet, if that's your thing). - Peach & bourbon glazed quail ($15) - this dish was a revelation for me. The first thing that hits you is the mouthwatering aromas, which I could smell even before the plate was placed in front of me, causing even my vegetarian boyfriend to make googly ones at the quail. The peach & bourbon glaze was fantastic and rendered the skin just the slight amount of crisp. The quail was perfectly cooked and was served on top of a delicious bed of farro, celery, peach and pecan puree. A true celebration of Southern ingredients and flavors. In addition to the amazing food, our experience here was made even better by our attentive waiter. He was super helpful in guiding us through the menu, telling us what he personally liked and also generally being a good conversationalist. What a very nice place to eat.... came here for my birthday! Parking - Valet. Everywhere near Miller Union looks like there's no space when it comes to parking. To save some time/energy, just valet. It'll save your mood. Space - Not quite sure how big this place is. We were shown to our table immediately. Props to the BF for making a reservation! :D Service - We had Daniel as our server. He was excellent. Came back at the right times to take orders, give dishes, take dishes back, get check, and bring back check. I'm not a huge fan of staying for a long dinner, so I was happy. Food: We had the fritters as an app... I would pass. They were not what we expected. TBH, they tasted like fancy tater tots, lol. They were great, but not enough to order at a fancy restaurant. Portion was OK. I wouldn't share this, haha. Flank Steak was goooooooooood. MMM. Done perfectly. The additional items were solid. The orange sauce under steak was delicious and went well with the entire dish. Portion is nice too. I was kind of starving when we got our meals, so I inhaled mine. i had never had the chance to try miller union on my own, but the perfect opportunity arose to have a company dinner here! we came on a tuesday evening to celebrate a project milestone (and my birthday-- is that a milestone too?) and miller union was very nice to accommodate our party of 14 (which grew to 18). my 5-star rating summarizes the superb customer service, miller union's classy, upscale atmosphere, cocktails mixed to perfection, unique appetizers, and entrees and desserts that really rounded out our experience. our server was both fun and courteous. he gave us the suggestion of ordering a sample of the menu, so we were able to taste most of the appetizer and dessert menu, while everyone took their time to select their own entrees and cocktails. this allowed us to not only save time, but to savor the delicious offerings of Miller Union. all 18 of us had nothing but compliments for the staff and chef. there was never a moment when we had to wait to ask for something because the staff kept up with our demand while giving us enough space to enjoy our meal. just being able to do that for a party of 18 is a feat in itself! recommendations: i especially enjoyed the cocktail with grapefruit (the evergreen) and if you have a large party, i highly, highly recommend doing a sample of the appetizers and desserts so you can focus more on having a good time. drawback: my one critique for Miller Union (which has been a drawback at every upscale restaurant i visit) is to improve the vegetarian offerings. their $24 vegetables plate left something to be desired. it was good, but not the i-think-i-got-my-money's-worth level of speechlessness that the rest of my experience left me with. i had pent up expectations! read more

Take your dinner table seat and your service will exceptional. Menu has amazing choices. We loved appetizer section so much we ordered our dinner from just that section. Four wonderful plates fried mushroom, oysters Rockefeller, green salads & charcuterie platter with cheese. All the meets house made. As you order make sure to meet the wine master Princeton. Princeton is a wonderful person and talented sommelier who will bring all plates ordered the best wines to go with the meal. We had a great half bottle option.
