Food was excellent. All farm to table. The restaurant was very good. Service was great! Ambiance was so cute. I loved the sweet potato's and steak. I wish portions were a little larger though.

While in town, we had dinner here. We made a reservation for a prime dinner time and it looked like everyone else did too. The spot is cozy with separate rooms which gives it a nice feel. Service was fantastic- very, very attentive. We tried the farm egg over grilled bread ($12) which is a unique but amazing dish. It's a creamy egg with celery flavoring that you dip bread into. Amazing. We also tried the Chinese Pancake special for $14 which was an upscale version of Scallion Pancakes which was a wonderful take on this classic dish. The two apps alone were worth the dinner. We tried the steak for $38 and the fish of the day for $44. Both dishes were fantastically flavored, plated, and seasoned. My fish had almost Indian style flavor which I wasn't expecting but was delicious. Despite being full, we indulged in the ganache cake for dinner ($13) which again tasted as good as it was presented. Cocktails delicious. Service amazing. Food top notch. Highly recommend!

This place was absolutely lovely. I went for a private and big dinner with colleagues and everything so so incredibly well thought out. The service was impeccable, I never had to ask for more water or wine it just kept flowing! The food was delicious! We had spread and charcuterie to start which was delicious. The they brought out a salad to share family style and an egg spread appetizer that apparently they have been serving for 15 years. I understand why because it was delicious and not like anything I have ever had. For an entree I got their quail dish served over what I think was a mushroom mixture with farro. The dish as a whole was lovely. My only complaint is that quail is hard to separate from the bone because of how small it is. So if you're going to this restaurant for something formal or a business meeting opt out of this dish. The desserts they gave us were a lemon cake and orange chocolate cheesecake. The lemon cake was divine. The cheesecake was a miss for me. This place was really incredibly and beautiful throughout. The food was high quality and if you're in the Atlanta area I definitely recommend making a reservation here.

Housemade charcuterie one of the few standouts.

I went to Miller Union a few months ago with a large group, and was underwhelmed. Strengths: *A few dishes were standouts: housemade charcuterie, and the egg baked in celery cream *The desserts were consistently creative and on point Weaknesses: *Pet peeve: the online wine list is not up-to-date. Many of the wines I wanted for our large group were out-of-stock or in limited supply *The Somm, Princeton, was arrogant and unhelpful. He was rude on the phone when I discussed wines for our group, and even ruder and condescending in-person. I requested specific wines in advance for the group, and he served a different Champagne than what we agreed on at the dinner. When confronted, he argued with me. I eventually explained that in his line of business, you need to be customer-oriented. To his credit, he apologized, and eventually even gave me a free glass of Champagne at the end of the meal, but the damage had been done *The entrees were forgettable, and some were downright odd. For example, the poulet rouge came with peaches and plums that were overly sweet and overshadowed the dish

I came here with 2 friends that were visiting from out of town and we had a great time! The food was delicious and I understand why Miller Union got the Michelin guide service award - our server was possibly the sweetest man ever and he was the perfect amount of attentive. We shared the farm egg in celery cream and mezze platter for our appetizers. I got the daily fish entree and loved it, my friends got the steak and the duck and liked their dishes too! We each had about 4 glasses of wine and wished we had just gotten 2 bottles instead.. next time! The only "down side" if you can call it that, is that the restaurant itself is kind of bland, probably to focus on the food and company, which didn't bother any of us, it was just a little different!

Excellent experience. First the service was great. The entire staff acted as a team to make sure the table was always taken care of. I have only seen that teamwork at a few other places. Excellent atmosphere as well, quiet enough to converse and remain relaxed. The food was excellent. I had the farm egg baked in celery cream appetizer. It was so good, egg perfectly cooked and it was great when you paired it with the toast. I had the shrimp and fish green curry. The flavors were so good, the mint with the coconut and curry was so smooth. A bed of crispy rice was in the middle -- outstanding. My only piece of feedback for the curry was that it could have used some more heat. The my friend had the steak and he absolutely loved it. The amaro spumante was crisp and refreshing. Excellent meal and experience.

Made a reservation for date night at Miller Union. There is valet parking out front, but we opted to park in a deck close by for a few bucks. We were sat right at our reservation time and our server was nice, attentive, and provided awesome recs! We ordered the pork belly as our side and the fried okra per our server's rec. The okra is some of the BEST okra I've ever had. It was fried beautifully and wonderfully crisp. Dipping sauce was so fresh and complimented it perfectly. Pork belly was delish as well. We ordered the pork and duck for our mains and really enjoyed both dishes. All of the components went with the mains and you could tell there was a lot of thought behind the dishes. We finished with the pineapple doughnut dessert and boy it was good! Miller Union is definitely one of my favorite 'nicer' places in Atlanta.

    Captain chicken, grit cake

What an amazing meal this evening. Started with the watermelon, tomato, cucumber salad and then had the captain chicken and grits cake for the entree with pistachio cookie ice cream for dessert. Everything was fresh and well seasoned as expected. Thanks to Chef Steven, Princeton and Kelsey for a wonderful experience.

The service here was stellar. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations. It was clear every dish had quality ingredients and was well thought out. I love vegetables and nuts so I was really happy with the refreshing field pea salad. I also have a thing for "saucey" foods so the farm egg and bread was right up my alley. The fish croquette was just okay for me so not much to add there. As an appetizer-as-a-meal girlie I left fully and happy. PS They have valet.

Valet is complimentary (don't forget to tip!) but there is also street parking if you can find it. Highly recommend making a reservation. Of note, their website does say that they can't accommodate kids but that's because they don't have a kid's menu or high chairs. We brought our baby and they fit the stroller just fine at the table. As a group of 3, we definitely splurged and shared everything. Our waitress was amazingly attentive, the service was impeccable. Cocktails: - Miller Thyme ($14): miller's gin, thyme, lemon. Delicious! Simple and so refreshing - Pacific Current ($16): gin, crème de fleur, blueberry, lavender, lemon. This was a beautiful drink, with an edible flower for décor. Honestly, it smelled sort of like weed (lol) but it didn't taste like it at all Appetizers: - Farm egg baked in celery cream with grilled bread ($12) - just wow, my favorite of the appetizers because it was so unique. The egg is poached essentially in the celery cream and it's so wonderfully creamy. I personally think it tasted better with the regular bread because the grilled bread was a little harder - Fish croquette, spiced remoulade, cabbage and radish slaw ($16) - can't really remember this to be honest - Cornmeal fried okra, garam masala, green chile chutney ($15) - highly recommend! I usually don't like okra bc of the slimeyness but there was none of that. I think they cut them in half before frying? The seasoning (while on the saltier side) was good and the chutney dip was refreshing and well balanced. - Seared scallops, sweet corn and field pea succotash, country ham, tarragon ($22) - I just love scallops so I knew this was going to be good. It's wasn't anything out of the box but yummy nonetheless! - Osono country sourdough and house butter ($3 per person) - just okay Entrees: - Daily dish (red snapper), summer squash, fennel, Vidalia, herb spaetzle, tomato caper sauce (MKT) - yummy! The fish was beautifully cooked and everything tasted great together - Grass fed steak, pole beans, new potatoes, mushroom, crispy shallot, plum jus ($39) - my favorite of the entrees. The steak was perfect and the vegetables on the plate were so well seasoned - Green curry - can't find the price on the menu but my top entree. Crispy rice over delicious green curry. Would get again - Seasonal vegetable plate ($31) - highly disappointed, especially when we were so excited to try a little bit of everything! Overall, really enjoyed dinner here and would definitely come back!

Were at it again! Millers Union resturant is a very wonderful & unique place for fine dining, we arrived 15 min early but we're still seated immediately, reservations are a must! You enter the resturant by walking past the bar, full of patrons, sipping on their favorite drinks & quietly chatting! Service is the #1 concern. Ty Murphy. Drinks came immediately, almost as if they knew ahead of time what we wanted Wifey had "Amaro spumante" (She wasn't a fan) later she had Reisling I had a Bootlegger. (Bourbon, peach, banana blackberry lime) 5/5 so good! We ordered the lamb meatballs over small diced potatoes mixed with strawberries & micro veggies, we THOROUGHLY enjoyed this appetizer, alongside the Country sourdough & honey butter. 5/5 Wifey ordered the grass fed NY strip steak, which she savored, as if it was desert, with broccoli & potatoes. 5/5 I ordered the pan seared sautéed Quail, which I'd never had before & will definitely have again. 5/5 I would highly recommend this establishment because of its excellent service & high quality, fresh cusine! 5/5 ***** but take your credit card $$$$ Millers Union You have been Tongue Tested

Again had a delicious meal at Miller Union, but the pacing was WAY off again. It seems everyone waits forever between starters and mains. At least our waitress was apologetic. Oddly enough they encourage you to order all your food at once so the "chef can time the courses accordingly".

I found out about Miller Union because a friend had a birthday dinner here. I was surprised I hadn't heard of them having lived in Atlanta for so long. It's been a while since my first visit but I think I had the quail for dinner and the drinks were great. There was a mishap during dinner where my meal was delayed when everyone's plate had arrived so I was sitting there waiting and staring into space. The manager quickly made it right and also offered a complimentary beverage. The quail I had was delicious; we had a great time overall. Since then, I've return several times for lunch with the hubby and have not been disappointed. Highly recommend. Also love that they work with local farmers and producers too

Over the years we've seen things decrease especially at the optimist. The hosts were great and they always give us great service but the food had been the lacking the last couple of services where the she crab soup lacked crab, the swordfish over cooked multiple times. This time in particular we ordered the whole lobster and was offered to have it taken out of the shell for us. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. When we got the lobster we got a full tail but one claw and no knuckles. When we addressed with the server, she argued with us that that's how a lobster is and that there could be more meat hidden on the plate. It felt like she thought we were there to just get more food by saying "so what do you want, more meat" but if we had it in the shell we would have received our full portion. The manager on duty tried to make it up to us by comping the lobster but it was more than that. After going back and forth with the server we just wanted the check to leave. The manager on duty insisted to give us the lobster and take it home. The server wasn't very polite and argued with us about the lobster. I wish I remembered the servers name With that said, the amount of money we have spent there over the years, it's unfortunate that that will be our last time going to the Optimist.
