    SLUTTY BUN
    Marina S.

Love a place that has breakfast all day! The food was delicious and decently priced. We checked in and were about 30th in line, but were seated within about 20 minutes. Waiters were super attentive and we had a lovely time on the outdoor patio

Millie's on Sunset is one of those classic LA spots that delivers exactly what you want on a chill morning. The chilaquiles were legit ..crispy tortillas, perfectly scrambled eggs, that spicy salsa soaking in just right, and all the fresh ingredients. . We also got the French toast with fruit, and it was great: thick slices that were soft inside, topped with fresh berries and banana. Definitely recommended!

Local diner proves what makes this place a Silverlake staple. With charming seating directly on the sidewalk of Sunset Blvd, we loved our time here. Everything was delicious, but the homemade biscuit and the SLUTTY BUN made this place worthy of coming back to. Service was quick and charming as well.

Street parking was a bit of a hot mess, but the place was cute, and it was a fun spot to catch up with my friend I hadn't seen in a while! I started off with a latte. I don't remember what kind, but it was pretty good. I went with a LOX plate for breakfast while my friend got a full breakfast plate situation. My LOX was extremely basic, but got the job done. They don't really put much into making the plates look aesthetic, lol, but like I said, they did the job! It's very upbeat and social, so I wouldn't come if you're looking for quiet or to study. The workers were friendly. I probably wouldn't go back, but it was decent. I think the best part about the restaurant for me was how quick we got our food and also how cute the outdoor seating is. If they put a little more effort into the food, I may double back!

The exact same as the Pasadena location, but slightly less nice outside seating area since it's on the very crowded street of Sunset. Still not the biggest fan because it's very overpriced breakfast food and the food isn't even the best breakfast food (I make better eggs at home...). Service is super fast though!

    USUAL BREAKFAST COMBO
    Tiffany H.

Overall, we had a pleasant experience at Millie's cafe! I ordered the usual breakfast combo with a waffle along with a matcha pistachio latte! The matcha pistachio latte was ok. It tasted mainly like milk and pistachio syrup with a hint of matcha. I would skip on ordering that. The usual breakfast combo was decent! The eggs and sausage were yummy! Potatoes were somewhat crispy as well. The waffle was mediocre. It was too batter heavy and tasted more like a pancake than a waffle. Would skip on the waffle and order a pancake instead. Service was excellent. The servers were attentive and met our requests quickly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated outdoors and there were plenty of umbrellas that provided shade. As several others have mentioned, parking is tricky. You will need to find street parking and it is located on a very busy street. I parked close by to the cafe in the neighborhood and walked over.

Your go-to Silver Lake brunch spot with an upscale diner vibe. Most of the seating is at tables on the sidewalk. The staff moves a line like nothing you've ever seen before. You won't wait long to get seated. The menu is HUGE, and there are so many vegan and gluten-free options, including pancakes and waffles. The portions are massive, and everything's delicious. Hungover? Go here. Fam in town? Go here. Catching up with friends? Go here. Just want a fat omelette quickly? Go here. They've got you no matter what.

Popular breakfast spot with good vibes in Silverlake. My friend recommended it so We came here on a Sunday morning it and it was packed with a long line, but they were moving pretty quick so we only waited about 15 minutes for a table for 3. They have a large menu with lots of options (including many vegan options!), and I decided with the Millies Style Breakfast burrito with rosemary potatoes on the side. It was soo tasty, and the service was amazing! Their prices are on the higher side, but they had good portion sizes. I will be back. Definitely recommend coming here for brunch, just be prepared to wait a bit.

First time here! It gets packed QUICK! We came here a hour after they were open & it was already almost full , with a line building. It took us about 5 min to be seated, the table set ups outside are rather close to the next table but get comfy because that's how it is. The service was quick & efficient, we did have to wave down a few people to get drinking water cups & silverware, but I give them grace, they are a popular breakfast spot especially since blowing up n tik tok recently. Silverlake is a trendy hipster area, so I love the atmosphere of dining outside, seeing people interstate with eachother of all kinds & people have their pups with them I just love the vibe. The drinks were delicious, I'm posting this about 2 months later so I forgot the names of the drinks & food but I know I got the Benedict which is my go to. I removed a star because they only serve has browns until 11am and only certain days of the week which was odd? I'm not a fan of breakfast potatoes, I love me some hash browns so I'll have to catch them on a day they're serving them. PARKING is also part of removal of star, it's not easy to get to, I had to look for 30 min for parking space, that's also just silverlake so be prepared for neighborhood street parking, meters, or like I had to.., $20 to park. Kinda annoying so maybe next time I'll just Waymo here instead haha. Definitely will be back tho!

    Chilaquiles w/ machaca style beef

Amazing find! Definitely set a tone for me with Cafe's & the city of Silver Lake. I operate the local buses and having lunch by a place i always pass by was pretty dope. I'm a chilaquiles kinda person and their chilaquiles really hit the jackpot for my craving that day. I wanted breakfast but wanted protein too since it was also my lunch window. I've been upping my Latte game and exploring out of my comfort zones and man, the one I went with was booomb just how the couple that sat next to me described it out to be. The staff is very polite & friendly. The host was pretty cool. He came to check on me and personally seeked for my feedback. You could tell he wanted my experience to hit home. He even complimented me on my way out. I was a retail store manager in my last career so little gestures like that really hit home to me since I always go above and beyond. Really enjoyed the location. The sun was out and it was hot but outside still did it's thing. I've been trying more places and expanding my orders and i could say my tab was worth every single penny. I will definitely be coming back!

    Chilaquiles Benedict

Customer service is incredible here, they're so nice and helpful. The seatings are outside, and there's a bathroom for customers inside. Parking can be hard since it's metered, but I was able to get one in the residential area to the right of the restaurant if facing it. The food itself was a good 3.5/5 overall, not anything amazing or something I'd come back for in my opinion. My blueberry matcha tasted like a blue raspberry jolly rancher but the pistachio matcha was good. I thought the chilaquiles Benedict was lacking flavor despite all the sauce. The French toast was a 5/5 tho! And the usual classic, it's a usual so it was good. Didn't take pics of the other foods sadly, but they did look good.

Really loved the food & drinks, super yummy and service is quick and with quality. Even when there's a lot of people there make sure to get your food to you as soon as possible. I love the lavender matcha & my friend loves the chai latte she says it's her favorite and the best! Shoutout to the cleaning crew as well that always keeps the space & restroom clean. I have become more a regular here .

Service was impeccable. The host and servers were attentive to us to see if everything was okay. Food was delicious and all that came out from the kitchen. It seemed intimidating when I saw chili crisp in a lot of dishes on the menu. However, that wasn't the case when we received the dishes. Each dish had other ingredients that married well with the chili crisp, allowing it to have a small hint of it there without overpowering the dish.

Great sampler plate - the pickled onions and jalapeños added that kick to the mousse. I have no idea how they make the crumpets, but I could have eaten 5 of those. The tomatoes on top of the mousse were delightful. 2. POTATO CREPE: Our server said this was one of their most popular dishes and it did not disappoint. It honors the original Banh Xeo while offering a fun "brunch" twist with the crispy potato shell. Admittedly a little oily and messy, but I can get down. 3. HOUSE MAPLE SAUSAGE: We knew we needed a little bit more in our order but didn't want to commit to a full dish, so that's where the sausage came into play. Definitely should try this with the crumpet and pickled veggies. 4. OOEY GOOEY CINNABON: The cinnabon was unfortunately a bust - it honestly just reminded me of cinnabon, but with no unique twist or flair that I could note. I would skip this and maybe try the pb&j sourdough pancakes instead. SERVICE (5/5): Service was good! AMBIENCE (5/5): Fun brunch spot with options for outdoor seating. The interior is nicely decorated and feels very open. PARKING (3/5): Street parking - managed to snag something on a Sunday. TAKEAWAYS: I've had two experiences at Girl & the Goat so far - one for dinner and one for brunch - and I think I preferred the brunch experience by far. Enough so that I'm considering revisiting their dinner menu to see if they've changed or I've changed... who knows?

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE SAMPA: Elevated dining, speakeasy vibes, quality food and service PARKING: Parking can be difficult since it is close to the Arts District, you may want to park in the Public Parking Lot areas FOOD: Lechon fried rice: This dish was exquisite! I loved all of the colors in the rice, which include the fried pork belly, the golden egg yolks, and the pigments of the atchara (atchara: pickled vegetables such as papaya, scallions, and carrots). When I took my first bite of the fried rice, the blend of all of them together was scrumptious! Yes order this dish! 5/5 STEAKSILOG: I would order just the steak alone! The skirt steak was savory, juicy, and mouthwatering! Yummy! 4.5/5 Kare Kare Tamales: This dish was delicious! The pandan flavor was there, but I wish the waffle was thick, instead it had a crispy thin cookie like texture. 3.5/5 DRINKS: Bartender has skills! Beauty in the booze! I appreciated the artistry in creating our beverages. I loved the details of the flowers and layers of color. Cheers! All in all I had a great time eating at Sampa! I loved the food and service! Wow - I'm impressed with this place! First off, the restaurant environment is beautiful, with…read morecovered outdoor seating and in a building filled with art. But seating is still comfortable and not stuffy / pretentious. The food is truly above average even amongst restaurants of similar caliber. Some stand outs from the appetizers: the biscuits, served warm, so soft and buttery with the perfect spreads. The albacore spread. Their salads are actually great (this is coming from me, usually a salad hater.) The potato appetizers. Now from the entrees: I was pretty shocked by the eggs benedict popover and the bacon steak. Namely because these are generally pretty straightforward brunch dishes, but they were just so much better here than other places I've had them. I don't know what the secret is for the benedict popover - is it something they put in the benedict sauce? The way the ingredients come together? Whatever it is, it's perfect. For the bacon steak - it cut like butter, and wasn't too salty, sweet, or chewy / thick. So good! The service has also been great here each time I've come, both in a large party (10+ people) and in a small group. The food somehow still comes out when you expect it to and the staff is friendly and helpful. Reservations recommended especially for big groups!
