I'm very sad. Have not been to Mimi for about 6years due to where I live now and Covid happening. We there Sunday 4th. There food quality has gone down dramatically! They used to have fantastic red potatoes perfectly seasoned (baked or pan roasted) made with love and delicious. They now have cheap russets horrible fried overcooked with no seasoning and No Love.! I was very excited to try this restaurant. The menu is fabulous. There are so many options. They offer some unique entrees and drinks. It's a little expensive. I paid over $60 using DoorDash. The bacon was over $6 for four pieces. It was definitely not worth it. I was expecting thick slices perfectly cooked and flavored. It seemed like undercooked, cheap meat. I love crab cakes and Eggs Benedict so I was excited to try this combination for breakfast. It was nothing special...not disgusting, but not good. My son wasn't impressed with his French toast, either. We'll see what he thinks of his cinnamon roll. I'd like to eat in at the restaurant. Saturday's date night brought us to Mimi's Cafe. We don't come here often, however, it had been a while and we had a craving. I am so glad that we stopped in. The wait was about minutes, as they are seriously limiting capacity. I am so glad, as our experience was incredibly intimate and our waiter, Ryan, took the time to talk to us. We asked for the full bar menu and both of us chose the wild berry daquiri, it was an awesome choice with fresh blueberries and a slice of lime on the rim. It was very flavorful and refreshing. I have loved Jambalaya most of my adult life. Most places don't allow substitutions or changes. Thankfully, Mimi's Cafe does. I don't like shrimp, never have, never will. I was able to ask for mine without the shrimp and got it exactly as I wanted it. It can be served over a bed of rice or penne pasta I chose mine over rice. The dish was served completely full, and beautifully presented. I didn't want to eat it at first because it was so pretty, see the picture! My food was bursting with flavor, almost an oral org..., well, you know what I mean. It was incredibly delicious and satisfied my craving for good old fashioned Creole food. My husband loved his meatloaf, scalloped potatoes and green beans. This man always has leftovers to bring home, you know what? He finished every single bite on his plate. The portion was perfect and he was very quite as he gobbled up every morsel. Needless to say, we were very pleased with our experience here. It was incredibly intimate, every bite was satisfying, and we left feeling all the warm fuzzies that a wonderful date night is expected to bring on. We are still recovering from our experience at Mimi's Cafe. Since it was Mother's Day, we were patient, but the service was overwhelmingly poor. We had a fantastic Easter visit at this location, so we decided to return. I made a reservation for two at 11:00 AM for me and my 80-year-old mom. However, when we arrived, the door was locked--despite the restaurant opening hours earlier. We only got in when someone walked out. I provided our name and was told there would be a wait because the tables weren't turning over. Fair enough. We sat down, and my name was called within five minutes. We were led to the back room, handed a fixed-price menu, and given just one set of silverware. Then, we sat for 35 minutes with no service--not even water. Meanwhile, two tables behind us, seated after us, were already eating. At this point, we politely asked another server if someone would be helping us. She snapped, "I'll try and find your server." Another ten minutes passed, and still nothing. Other diners even pointed out that no one had come to our table! Finally, the same server who snapped at us arrived. I asked, "Oh, are you going to assist us?" She responded sharply, "Yes," as if it were obvious. So, we proceeded. We asked about the brunch menu I was told about when making the reservation since my mom wanted eggs and bacon--items not listed on the fixed menu. The server claimed that wasn't an option, yet the table next to us had just ordered from it. She then found a menu and tossed it at my mom. Water finally arrived, but she took forever to return. I ordered from the fixed-price menu: onion soup, turkey, and dessert. She mentioned it came with two sides, but the options weren't listed. I asked about them, and she became frustrated, reading the menu aloud--but still no mention of sides. When she finally listed green beans, I said, "I'll take it." The soup never arrived. My mom's food came about 30 minutes later, and instead of turkey, they brought me half a chicken on the bone with broccoli. I politely said, "Oh, that's not mine--I ordered the turkey." She rudely insisted that was my order. Thankfully, the other diners, who had been observing the ordeal, backed me up. She stomped away with the chicken. I told my mom to go ahead and eat. She even shared her meal with me--but I had no silverware. After asking several times with no result, my mom had to go find some on her own. Two hours into this nightmare, my turkey finally arrived--but still no soup. When I mentioned it, they eventually brought it, but it didn't look appetizing. At this point, I was frantically eating my turkey because we had a 1:15 PM movie to catch. Waiting for the check was another long ordeal. The total was over $60, and I didn't even eat half the food due to the delays. Worst of all, the server acted like we were the problem for asking about our food. She snapped, "Everyone here is WAITING." Needless to say, we were late to the movie and will never go to Mimi's again. read more

My family and I stopped by for Mother's Day (party of 10). We were there for late brunch we did not have any reservations, yes we waited but we were sat in a timely manner. The restaurante was very full and busy due to being Mother's Day, but everyone was on their feet trying to give the best service possible from the hostess down to the services. We stopped in for dinner last night and were greeted promptly by a friendly hostess and seated right away. The place was super dead, and only a couple of other tables were seated. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the tuscan grilled chicken and turkey pesto ciabatta. The sandwich and fries were good, but the chicken was something strange. The presentation of the dish was perfect, and the veggies were cooked just right, but the chicken was hard and grisly in parts and hard to bite through. It was so strange. I was so hungry that I just gnawed through it. The potatos it sat on tasted almost like instant potatos, not sure if they mash their own. Takeaway, sandwich good, chicken terrible. First time back to a Mimi's in about 20 years. Honestly I thought they were all closed down, but we noticed it was still opened when looking for something different. The parking lot was completely empty and we were 1 of 2 parties in the entire place when we got there. Service - 5 stars. Monica was great. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Food - 3.5 stars. The fries were fresh, hot, and crispy. Burger was just fine. Muffin was warm and delicious. Like there is all day breakfast. Bathroom - 2 stars. Sticky floors. Water jetted out of one sink like a fire hose on full blast. Atmosphere - 4 stars. It's a nice cozy place. I'm tired of ultra modern, wide open, generic places. I don't think the interior has ever changed. Prices - 2.5 stars. I know labor rates are up. Food prices are up. Everything is up. That's just the way it goes I guess. We'll be back! read more

Updated review: Happy to have given this location another shot. I absolutely love they offer a full "holiday" type meal throughout the year. The Turkey dinner ordered was very good. Portions were perfect. The flavor of each piece was tasty & all of it came together very well. Not that anyone needs the extra carbs... but a dinner roll would have been the perfect side completion. Had to try the pumpkin spice muffins... SO good! Enough to where I ordered a 4 pack to split for breakfasts in the mornings. Light & fluffy but moist & filling. The perfect amount of pumpkin + spiced flavor. Delicate drizzle of frosting on top of the crumble & it is melt in your mouth! Really one of the best I've tried. They're seasonal so I'll take advantage- great for breakfast or dessert & one is plenty to split. It was much better than the last time I visited & verified I'll be coming back. My parents come here about once a month and this time I got to tag along. I have been to Mimi's before but not this store. I'll just start with the food here is excellent. A great selection of French-inspired dishes. They look pretty and they taste great too. I had the French pot roast this time and it was rich and savory. So good! I think they might have been understaffed this night because it took a while to get seated because there was no host at the front. So I'm not quite sure why Mimi's has such low ratings. I didn't even bother to read the reviews because I had been told by a few people that they had good stuff. I'd never been so even though it's a chain, I decided to finally go a check it out. The place was dead, maybe 4 tables total and one gal working who wasn't very nice. She warmed up to us but definitely was having a bad day. Although it was dead, the inside was set up super cute with a nice bar and seating. I enjoyed the set up. They also serve breakfast all day, which is a plus! To start we had the trio appetizer with chicken strips, blacken quesadilla and artichoke dip. We had 4 people and the appetizer trio had 4 of everything, which is rare. I do wish they had chips with the dip but the artichoke dip comes with baguette bread (6 pieces) that was pretty good. The quesadilla and chicken strips were also delicious. They came with hot sauce, tartar, ranch and ketchup. For dinner my dad had the cinnamon roll French toast with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. The French toast was demolished and the bacon was cooked perfectly. It was perfectly crispy and not too much fat. My step mom had regular French toast and loved it as well. My friend had the chicken cheddar Mac and it was super good but it was very very rich. The cheese is super thick and creamy and there are crispy bread crumbs. It is also baked, which makes it taste delicious. I had the jambalaya, which is the Thursday special. You could either get It with pasta or rice but I chose the rice opinion. They rice was just regular white but there was chicken, sausage and shrimp. It also had peppers. The sauce was perfectly spicy, not too spicy it was in flavorful. I will say the spices upset my stomach but it tasted delicious. They also give you good portions. Their bar was running out of things and was limited but if you order a mimosa, they're good and they give you a whole mini bottle and the juice to pour yourself! read more

Restaurant Smells "funky" , ordered French dip sandwich- meat was really, really dry, it had been microwaved-sourdough bread was stale-overall I could only eat a few bites because it tasted " OFF". The fries were ok, the Aujus Was spilled all over the plate, what was in the bowl was flavorless and watery. Returned the iced tea as it was just like colored water- ended up opting for a soda For those outrageously high prices I expected better. I will not recommend nor return. It's been a while .. along while. I think my last visit to Mimi's Café was back in 2012 in Maryland. I don't remember it being so let's say "old fashioned", maybe just this location. I'm not sure. It's dimly lit inside, old booths, not a huge crowd and not the cleanest. I received a BOGO coupon in my email inbox so I said let's go! My boyfriend and I came to Mimi's Café last Sunday (9/26/18) for a late brunch. We were seated immediately upon walking in. There weren't many patrons in the restaurant around 2pm. Still .... we waited a while for the server to come to the table. We waited a while for our entrees. We waited a while for refills of coffee and hot water for tea. In fact, I flagged someone else down for refills because our server was no where to be found. We didn't receive our muffins until we were almost finished our entrees so we just packed them up to go. We tried the muffins when we got home ... they're no where near as good as they were before. Something happened. Something changed. My boyfriend ordered the waffle meal with scrambled eggs with Pepper jack cheese, turkey sausage links and a honey bran muffin. Skip the turkey sausage links. We both took 1 bite and left the rest there. I don't believe it's turkey or maybe really cheap turkey sausages but they didn't taste good at all. I ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, potatoes and the new pineapple upside down muffin. The food was lukewarm, nothing special. If I didn't have the BOGO coupon I would have been extremely disappointed with brunch. I'd return, only if I have another coupon and if I'm in the area. read more

Whoo bud... this one I'm not proud to write but DAMN this food was mediocre. Let me explain... I saw this place on my way to run some errands and thought it would a great place to try. Went back the next day for brunch and thought it had a nice little Italian café vibe to it. The decor and the food didn't match at all lol very archaic and a not great attempt at feeling anything but. Now for the food.. I got the peanut butter latte and the fried chicken waffles. The peanut butter latte was lacking a bit in flavor but overall I definitely wasn't too disappointed. Then came my first red flag when I asked what my waitress recommended and she said nothing... I got the chicken and waffles thinking it was a relatively safe choice and I think I made the right decision. It was pretty okay overall but there was not a grain of salt to be found on that damn chicken. Like, none whatsoever. The waffle was a generic waffle and nothing really to be said about it. But that chicken was so bland and lacking in any kind of flavor it honestly shocked me. Made the entire dish too sweet because there was no balance. To top it all off this place is pretty expensive.
