I've been frequenting Mings for 13 going on 14 years! Mr ming is amazing and recognizes customers. I get the same lunch special every time, Mongolian beef with fried rice and a side order of potstickers. CANT GO WRONG! it's the best. Plus he teases when I order anything different. Today even with a mask on, he recognized me as soon as I walked thru the door. I'm glad to see Mings is surviving the pandemic, I dont know what I'd do without my favorite Chinese restaurant. Have you ever walked into a Chinese restaurant that had a fish tank and just KNEW it was going to be good? Because that was definitely the vibes here. Placed a large order for pick-up upon the restaurant opening and the food was ready in a very timely manner. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The portions were generous too, which was a bonus for a lunch special. Just a preface that currently they are doing take out only, which doesn't come with soup if you order the lunch special *not a deal breaker*. I would recommend almost everything we ordered which included the pork potstickers, crab meat puffs, sesame chicken, veggie fried rice, and Mongolian beef. I wish we took pictures of the food, but honestly it smelled too good and we were too hungry. Will definitely be back with an update with pictures next time! For anyone considering where to get quality Chinese food in the Concord/Pleasant Hill area I would recommend going here. After looking on many of the food delivery service apps and countless Yelp reviews too of course, Ming's did not disappoint! Been coming to Ming's for years! (Especially during the Pandemic) Obsessed with the Crispy Ginger Prawns (or chicken) When we order to go, they always put that delectable sauce in a separate container so that the breaded meat or shrimp is not soggy by the time we get it home. The prawns with veggies (brown sauce, not white) is another fav of ours & the chow mein noods are the perfect chubbiness! Ming's is the place to go get great Chinese Food. I had lunch at Ming's a few times and also dinner with the family. When I had Ming's for lunch it was crowded. I never seen a full house of people eating lunch here. Luckily when I ate here for lunch I got there right when they open for business. I got a table right away and was serve right on the spot. When I came after 1 it wasn't busy and still got served right away. When I have eaten at Ming's I get the lunch special. Sweet and Sour Pork, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Broccoli Beef were all good with my Fried Rice. Great proportion of the food and it tasted great. Dinner was good. I came to Ming's over the weekend with my parents since we were staying in Walnut Creek. I was craving Chinese food and this place had pretty good reviews. I didn't realize it was such a popular place. We came around 7pm on a Saturday and the line was out the door. There's a lot of people with takeout orders too. They don't have a sign-up list to put your name down for a table, the owner just tries to remember who comes in first which is no small feat with all the customers who come by. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed all the a wards and newspaper clippings on the wall that featured the restaurant. I guess it's well-known. They do have a plaque in the front that warns of the possible wait and service time due to the high volume of customers. We were seated in a timely manner but just as the plaque mentioned service did take a while, although they were friendly. Food: Honey Walnut Prawns- Good, they do make it a bit more crunchy than most places but it's still tasty Salt & Pepper Spare Ribs - Very flavorful and well-seasoned Crab Wontons- My favorite appetizer Chicken & Corn Soup Calamari Everything we had was delicious and flavorful. We went back to Ming's after a long time because we wanted Chinese comfort food. Everything was exactly as we remembered it except that Mr. Ming had grown a little older. He made us feel so special by greeting us with a "So nice to see you again." We ordered two of our favorites: the Singapore-style noodles with BBQ pork and shrimp, and the Mu Shu Pork. The tea now costs a dollar per person and the prices are a little higher now, but they're still better than anybody else's, and the portion sizes are still large. The dining room was as busy as it was in the olden days, but miraculously, nobody had to wait. Forever doesn't last forever, so go back while you can. Ah Ming's, the fact that I haven't left a review here just means that it's long overdue. Located just down the street from Safeway, and in the same shopping center as the newly built John Muir Health building, Ming's has been a mainstay here in Pleasant Hill for many years now. Currently, they are still only open for takeout, so there is no sit-in meals being offered. They are also now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which they have traditionally only been closed on Mondays, but there is an additional day of the week that they are now closed. Staff here is generally great back when there were sit-in dining. Particularly, how fast the food came out, the waiters worked, and overall just an efficient dining experience. Pricing wise, they are on par with the other Chinese food eateries in surrounding areas. The portions here are good, so you will get a good bang for your buck, particularly if you go with their lunch specials. Today I ordered the Honey Walnut Prawns with chow mein. The lunch specials usually just comes with white rice, but if you want to replace it with fried rice or chow mein, it will be an additional $1. There is also an eggroll included, all veggies, no meat inside. If this was still dine-in, they would have typically also given you a complimentary hot and sour soup, which is actually one of the better ones I've had from a Chinese place. But since there is no dine-in, they don't include it with the takeout. If you do want to try it out separately and order it by itself, that particular version is a bit fancier as it will also include more things inside the soup, such as shrimp. The chow mein here is the thick kind. While it's not mind blowing, it's also pretty decently made. The fried rice is also the same though it's mainly just fried rice without much other things in it besides eggs and maybe some veggies. The egg roll is a cabbage based egg roll. Nothing special, but tasty. The Honey Walnut Prawns itself are good. Fried well, not too crazy with the sauces, and good sized shrimp. Of course, includes the honey glazed walnuts as well for an added treat. While they're not open for dine-in, you will still be able to dine with them in spirit with takeout. The takeout times are fairly accurate, but they do get busy fairly often, so call earlier for a later pick-up if during peak hours. Good amount of food for the price, and the food is overall quite tasty. Other things I would recommend here is the kung pao combination, mango chicken, and their eggplant fish. We tried Ming's after our favorite place closed. We ordered take away for chicken chow mein, General Tso's Chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and white rice. While the food was ready in 15 minutes and piping hot, the portions seemed very small, and the flavor was lacking. There was barely enough sauce on any of the dishes. The total was $50, and this was enough food for two people. Kinda disappointed. The white rice was the best out of everything. On a positive note, the restaurant interior was very nice. read more

We've been loyal customers at Three Brothers from China which is also in Pleasant Hill, but since our favorite server jumped ship from there, we followed suit. Ming's is much smaller than Three Brothers and the tables are more cramped together. People who are used to dining in SF wouldn't mind this, but if it bothers you, request a booth. We love that they can accommodate big groups but call ahead for a rezzie. Family style is the name of the game and it won't be hard to share since the portions are generous! We started with a spicy hour and sour soup, moved onto honey walnut prawns (mom's favorite!), spicy ma po tofu, sesame chicken, shrimp Fried rice, mushrooms & Chinese broccoli and salt n pepper calamari (not as tasty as Three Brothers version, but the batter here is thinner!) if you're missing your orange chicken from Panda Express, they got that here too. Have been to this place a few times but forgot to give a review. I m a Chinese so I m picky in term of Chinese food but this place is very legit. Ordered Singapore rice noodles, salt and pepper calamari and 3 combo Mongolian with chicken beef and shrimp. Service is fast. We went on a Saturday evening for dinner at around 6pm.
